Haven’t heard Funeral Fukk but totally on board with you on the rest these Liam. All Killer Favorites here. When it comes to Candlemass it’s very hard to pick a favorite but one I think kind of gets over looked is the self-title white album. From start to finish it is absolutely amazing. Same goes for Solitude Aeturnus, but I am quite fond of “Through The Darkest Hour”. I guess mainly because that’s when they did a lot of shows around here. Mainly at this place called Dallas City Limits which was a cool place and had great sound. Around this time, they even did a Sabbath Cover band called Hand Of Doom. Great times.
Mate you need to check out Fvneral Fvkk. I already know you'll like it. I love all the SA albums but Beyond just edges it for me. May have to do a ranking of them one day. Cheers for watching dude
Sweet Vid Liam! Ive heard good things about that Fvneral Fvkk record must check it out. Spot on about Black Castle, its a top tune mate! Ive been playing lots of Doom lately, those classic Candlemass records have been getting a blast. I played Pilgrims Misery Wizard last night for the first time in years too. Solstice I’ve not heard of, Candlemass is a requirement for Doom fans and if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have dug into Solitude Aeturnus ever. I believe Downfall was the record you mentioned. I’ll have to check the others out at some point in time! Cheers Liam and good luck in the contest 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Downfall is a classic as well but first two is what most would say is Solitude Aeturnus best albums. Get on board with the others, you can't be a doom fan without checking these out haha! 🤘🍻💀
Epic doom is not my favorite, mostly because of the vocals, but I listened to Fveneral again (I have tried it before) and now it clicked! Gonna go through the rest one more time also. Thank you so much for the shoutout! Cheers!
Epic doom isn't for everyone. You could say it's cheesy in some parts depending on the lyrics. Fvneral Fvkk are superb though so well worth spending time with them. No worries on the shout out dude, hopefully brings some more subs! 🤘🍻💀

Good video there Liam. Candlemass are the go to band for this style of music. They've sort of made it their own. Another good reference video this one for exploring deeper into the genre.

Solitude Aeternus is back? Holy hell! And yeah, I'd put Beyond the Crimson Horizon as my favorite as well. That guitar solo in Seeds of the Desolate just fuckin' smokes. Thanks for the shout-out, Liam! Very much appreciated!
They are doing a one show only gig at The Hell's Hero's VI festival in Houston TX. Luckily I live In Texas and will be there.

Yeah it's crazy that shows going ahead, well jelly of the Texans let alone America getting a fest like that. To be fair, UK gets it's fair share but man i'd love to see SA and Candlemass on the same day. No worries on the shout out man, you're churning out killer content and people need to see it! 🤘💀🍻

Ha that brinds back memories! in 93, I was in a band called "Graven Image" in London. Other members were Will Palmer and Mark Cronin (From Mourn), Gian Pyres and Simon Matraves. Gian and Simon left the band to join Solstice for the Lamentations album recording and a European tour. Will went on to play bass in loads of bands and is the 2nd bass player in Angel Witch I knew (the first being Jon Torres). He now works in a PR company. Simon did a solo project about a decade ago, but damaged his voice, I think he lives in cornwall now. Gian of course went on to be a dreadded Goth in Cradle Of Filth and worked as a software tester for Assembly Studios, who made the Total War video game series and Alien: Isolation. Last I heard he was in canada somewhere. Mark played drums on Hangnail's first album and then disappeared off the face of the planet
I took a break for a few years and had a family, and then I went on to play guitar and bass in Eye Of Solitude, Darkeye, Beautality and im currently in Khthon and my orchestral Death Doom solo project called Unhallowed Remains... and I DJ for Totalrock (I played Consecration a few times!)
Good choices.... Gian and I used to jam on Solitude Aeturnus' "It Came Upon On Night" in the studio back in those days. Bloody fantastic album!

That's really cool to hear that man, Solstice were a big inspiration when I first heard them. I've played a gig with Eye of Solitude but that was some time ago at Desert Fest. I follow Khthon on FB so will keep my eyes peeled. Cheers for supporting my shite and playing it dude. And no I still haven't fixed it, mate of mine has offered but I always forget to bring it to him when I see him haha. I reckon by the end of the year she'll be up and running again! I have just managed to grab a copy of that first Solstice album on vinyl, only a cosmic Key reissue, with different cover, but it was less than £20, so it will do for me. The others are all classics of the genre. Cool shout outs as well,mate 🤘🍻

Love Epic Doom (doom in general is my favourite) but I can't find many bands. Obviously there's Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Crypt Sermon, Sorcerer etc. But that's about it
I could go to town on a boat load of epic doom bands.... i'll say check out 'Monolith Cult', 'Memory Garden', 'Below', 'Altar of Oblivion'... should get your started haha! Cheers for watching 🤘🍻🤘

New Dark Age has to be my favorite from Solstice. Hammer of Damnation is a masterpiece of its own.

Solid list for sure. Funeral Fvkk is my fav epic doom album ever. That Solitude record is another fav and of course Candlemass. How do you feel about early While Heaven Wept?
If the years go by and i'm still listening to it as much as i do now then I would say the same for me. I like While Heaven Wept but I don't recall them having those big riffs that kept my attention. TBH I haven't listened to them in a long while so should really revisit them. Cheers for watching mate 🤘🍻💀

Some times Epic Doom is confused with the "slow Epic Metal". But hey, with "similar riffs",
BUT.... Different universe "Bridge of Death" and different universe "A tale of Creation"! Excellent choices!!!
p.s. the final (and the opening) riff of "Tales of Creation" is the epitome of the genre...
It's hard to tell them apart but for me if the whole album is consistent with one style then you can class it as a epic doom or trad metal ect.. I couldn't agree more, I still get goosebumps when I hear that riff haha.Cheers for watching mate 🤘🍻💀

I dig your taste. I like stuff like Novembers Doom, Amorphis, Hooded Menace, Katatonia, and Opeth. Yet; I also like Candlemass, Trouble, St. Vitus, and Cathedral! Do you listen to any of the stoner Doom or Heavy Metal traditional style suff?
I don't tend to listen to stoner anymore. I used to love Electric Wizard and that Sabbath inspired style but nowadays it's only a few bands like Pallbearer might come into that genre a little bit. Trad stuff I listen to a lot but mostly on streaming services. For me bands like Riot, and the new bands like Visigoth and eternal Champion get a lot of spins. Cheers for watching 🤘🍻🤘

All these are quality, I would say thought Isole best album is 'bliss of solitude' for me. Well of Souls I've also yet to find over here. Bloke on that sounds like a poor Rob Lowe clone but I still enjoy that album a lot.
