Great explanation of A roll and B roll. I actually bought a SECOND Insta 360 go, so I have dedicated cameras for A and B footage. That gives me one-button presets tailored for each.
Advantage of two cameras is their combined shots appear in chronological order in Insta’s editing app. It’s easy to clip and assemble a summary video that way, I can usually share a highlight reel to social media the same day I shoot!

I appreciate your insight into the 360 technology and how you can export the 16:9. That’s something that I haven’t seen explained very well in other videos. I also like that you explained specifically why this is better for you than the GoPro!

Man, I really , really like your videos. They are compact, well done, and interesting to watch. I learn a lot (though I'm not a producer). I love to travel (like you) and one thing I would love to request from you is: giving some more details about the places you go. For example map points, Park Names, routes, camps site, so simply route path on the GPS map. It would be very helpful for those who would love to visit those places.
Hey Jeven, thanks for this video. I have one of these cameras and am just getting started in filming. I love the small form factor and mounting options...but wasn't really sure how to incorporate it into my filming...or when it might be a better choice over my GoPro or other cameras...NOW I DO!!!

Man Jeven, this is super helpful! I've been following you since near the beginning and I always feel inspired and motivated after your videos. Even your Creative Live lessons were very helpful but I always come back to my self talk about who would want to watch this old guy. I'm a private pilot and I think I could make my trips engaging but I have to get over this mental attitude.

I have found this camera to be really useful as well. One thing that I think helps a lot is to buy a bunch of mounts. That's one of the great things about Insta360, the accessories are reasonably priced. Then, when you're out doing something, setup several mounts and just move the camera between them for different shots. The magnet on the camera makes it super simple to move around. I have a clip mount on my hat and one on my belt. A pendant mount on my shirt. A two prong mount on my hiking pole which I can then use as a selfie stick or get some high angles. And a screw mount on a Joby mini tripod. I just pop the camera out of one mount and into the next. Super fast and easy.

This is very informative, I was just looking and doing a research for which better camera to buy for me to improve my vlogging and brought me here to your channel, and I got chance to learn more about vlogging.. Now I understand what is A roll and B roll.. I am a mobile user since I started my vlog and recently got a DJI mobile stabilizer which help me alot but still looking a handy one for our travel vacation for the next few month and surely will get this GO 2..

Super helpful video Jeven! I love my Go2 and use it daily… the flexibility makes it so easy to capture all sorts of delightful POVs and angles and tight interesting shots. I’m going to try sticking a little foam over the mic hole on a windy day to see if it cuts noise.
how is the battery life , im planning to buy one for casual vlogs too , i love the size of the camera which increases the mobility, its like having a camera that's like airpods

no question for the very clear and stabilize videos.big problem is the memory and battery life..hassle much to recharge and download files and erase or format since it is not capable of loop recording

I've been sitting on the fence about which camera to get, the One X2 or Go 2. I do mainly vlogs of hiking and van life. I'm more persuaded to buy the Go 2 after watching this. Thanks Jeven.

The 30 gigs of internal memory only is a dealbreaker for me

This TH-cam video is sooo crisp and clear here on Safari on my mac, although Safari usually does not a great job at all... usually.... only Firefox does a great job showing sharp crisp 4k videos... but You just have proven all my Observations to be so very wrong... So here lies a question for You: What are the steps You go through and what Compression settings did You uploaded this video in... in order to get this amazing crisp and detailed video up here ? ......Now that would make a killer Video i believe .. would You be willing to share?
Yes, it is really clear video. I saw another blogger that used this kind of camera but it's not the same.
I came here to ask exactly this. I’m also curious about the export settings from the Insta360 app/studio. What bitrate do you export at and do you select the remove grain option?
I’m already sold on the camera - I have one and I love it. I’m just always doubting myself whether I’ve got the right workflow to maximize the footage.

the only problem with me is that it only has 32g and would last about 30 minutes using pro mode. How did you get the battery to last when you're out there hiking all day?
What about using this camera for Trail Running? Hows the internal stabilization for that or do u need a gimble stick?

Are you trying to adjust on the PC or on your phone? It works on either.
@@mwrob On the phone app. Video shot in Pro, 1440, 30fps. Latest firmware installed. Tried everything and can't figure it out. I can change between wide/action/linear/narrow, but I can't adjust up or down as shown in this video. When watching a video on the app while connected to the camera, I can only watch it with my phone in portrait/vertical position. Video can't be watched in full screen mode when turning my phone to landscape/horizontal position.
