- Pilatus PC-12NGX is a new generation of the single-engine turboprop aircraft PC-12, which have been dominating their market niche for the past 25 years. Technological development, competition and the urge to keep the leadership led to the creation of what is basically the third generation of PC-12.
Despite the fact that, judging from its appearance, the PC-12NGX is practically identical to its predecessors of the NG generation, it got a series of important improvements, which encompass the power plant, avionics, comfort levels inside the cabin and interior design. Let’s take a closer look at this brand new plane.

I flew the PC-12 for 4.5 years, it's a great and very reliable aircraft. I never had to cancel a flight because there was something broken. I really miss flying the PC-12 those were fun times. Thank you for an excellent video on the PC-12. Stay safe and healthy my friend.
Swiss built quality that is ;-)
We are very proud on that Pilatus Factory in our State in Luzern.
@Flinty94 uh, nice. Enjoy it. Its quite Something, with the airfield between the lakes and Mountains.
@Flinty94 If possible, also visit mt Pilatus witch ist closeby. And the factory Name is coming from😉
@Flinty94 niiice👍🏻
Glad to hear that. I work for its software :)
I think pitatus manufacturers one of the Best Turbo Prop single engines in the World. The performance and reliability is above its Class.
Thx for Sharing.
I agree. Pilatus make beautiful aircraft.
PC-12 and the Cessna 208 are the two best single-engine turboprops out there, IMO.
I see and hear these beautiful aircraft going by my house most days going to my local airport there so stunning wish I knew how to fly and that I could afford one perhaps in the next life
Always been a fan of the PC-12 even before many even KNEW the type . . .especially the die hard King Air folks. Even they are smiling about it now.
One very sweet plane. This may be the most handsome turboprop that I have ever seen. Well designed and updated, with attention to detail and functionality. No wonder that this aircraft maintain its value and does well in the aftermarket. Well worth the attention of a Skyships Eng video.
Early on I was not a fan of the type, but like caviar I grew to like it. This latest model I must say is beautiful. Thanks for quality content.
The livery of this particular one was especially beautiful in my opinion :)

@@tommypetraglia4688 it is sad that it happened but you can't just blame it on the plane, FAA has only certified the pc12 to fly 11 people ( 9 passengers and 2 pilot ) max, but they flew with 12 people and all their camping and hunting gears, they could have been easily pushing it's MTOW and overloaded it. They also picked the worst time to fly, during a winter snow storm in heavy icing condition which is not a best time for any one to fly especially a GA pilot in a heavy airplane....

The report says the stall warning came on after just one second from take off and continued intermediately throughout till the crash and witnesses said they were trying for 3 hours to clear the ice from the air frame before the flight. We have to wait for the full report to make a conclusion but from what is known till now it doesn't seem like the airplane is at fault here and it seems to be mainly caused by human error.
@@superchargedpetrolhead it was also snowing that night and the PC-12 was parked outside so the accumulated snow/ice would have added more weight too. The pilot probably didn't know the maximum weight or perhaps was overconfident with such a reliable aircraft! The pilot and passengers were clearing the ice/snow for 3 hours but there were many places where they couldn't reach. www.flyingmag.com/story/news/nstb-pc-12-report-shows-stall/
@@tonyvu2011 Pc12 has so many safety features to handle any type of bad situations in flight but it can't protect itself against human stupidity and overconfidence
This is why its called the king of all Turboprops.
I would have said that that title went to the King Air for twin engine props and the single engine king of turboprops to the PC12 but hey, anyone can have its opinion
I thought C-130’s were king of the Turbo props.
Alot of people who are into turboprops call the pilatus the king of all turboprops. You are actually the first person who said it was the c130. I've never even seen a video like that.

@@tommypetraglia4688 true but there was icing on the wing at take off because you know it was snowing. And ice also brought down a 737. So yeah all that was a combination for a crash. King airs on the other hand roll over and die when an engine failure happens due to pilot error. So the fact that its safety record is better than a lot of turboprops does make it king in my and plenty of other people's opinions. Just to let you know the pilot didn't think like alot of other crashes. Same thing would happen to a king air.
This was absolutely the best review I've seen on this plane to date. Thank youuuuu
Every upload of yours brings me such joy :)
That's good)
Nice panel...&. Screen.
&. Software
Autopilot
Nice Turboprop
Nice. Pilatus. PC 12
Sky channel has the best stories. The info, the clips & pics, proper format and his accent pull me right into these videos.
Love the PC-12 NG - totally amazing interior comfort. Along with landing and take off capability, the ability to use short grass runways makes it great to access much closer to where you want it to be :) I will have to look into the NGX now! Thanks for the video.
Very nice review, perfectly narrated with all the essential figures. That's a dream machine besides the TBM940 !
A marvellous aircraft . I imagine with shared avionics the transition to a PC24 would be quite seamless .
I think this was called the u28 when I flew on it. I never saw those lavish interiors. Still, I had good pilots with this outstanding plane in at least one situation where a lesser plane might have left me a smear on the ground, so props to Pilatus.
That is the military version
So interesting. You looked quite comfortable in there yourself, Sky. It's great we got to see this beautiful plane through your eyes.
Definitely the KING OF PROPS :) with a very specific sound as well. Nice video .
It’s time to see a brief video bio on Sky himself! The enduring excellence of our hero merits it! 💛😎
Totally agree! Who is the man that creates this awesome, easy to understand yet very complete and detailed, airplane info clips?????
@@MrJaaplepoole At least he has started appearing in his videos a while ago. In the beginning there was just the voice. ;-)
@@Colaholiker I guess he prefers not to appear so much because he narrates in Russian & then translates to English...it would be weird to see his lips not in sync with his voice !
@@Timothy_Kim Could be. But in many countries people are used to that. I am German, and all the movies and TV series we get from other countries, mainly United States, are dubbed. You hear them speak German but they move their mouths to the English text they originally say. So I don't think it's much of a deal.
@@Timothy_Kim it is considered a bit unprofessional for vehicle fans in CIS to make videos about themselves. It usually ends up with a lot of people commenting how much of a fuck they dont give. Or worse - a political shitstorm.
I’ve only managed to just sit in the cockpit of one of these. Stunning aircraft
Outstanding review, as I have come to expect.
Sky, your videos are very informative and non biased. This aircraft is probably the Cadillac of single turbo props and has some terrific amenities and safety features. You do great work and I like your presentations on Russian aircraft as well. If you have not done so already, how about a segment on the Mi-17 utility helicopter? That is a classic workhorse helicopter in my opinion.
One of the nicest PJs I’ve ever flown in.
Excellent presentation! Amazing aircraft. Well done Pilatus 👍🏻
A video about my favorite aircraft! This is much better than a sweet for me, excellent and thank you for your work!
GOLD STANDARD in all ways. Only question is, is it you or the hero in concern ? But my THANKS will always remain yours.
Wonderful video.Well explained.Great visuals.Thank you.I love this plane.Well done.
Working on setting up an air taxi service at San Juan, P.R. Flying folks throughout the Caribbean. This will be my flagship!
The registration on the demo plane could have been chosen better - HB-FUX?
Bragging? Helvetia (Switzerland) f**ks?
This plane fux.
In Finland is pilot training plane regged OH-SHT. 😁😁
@@terot8341 hahaha!!
It was its consecutive reg, as they use 'Vxx' on their PC-24s
Another well thought and excellent presentation. No, no, thank you Sky.
thank you Skyships! thank you Sky
Thank you for including US measures in this
clip, not just metric.
That’s a Beautiful Plane.
All i can say is WOW. Great reporting!
Another detailed and interesting video. Thumbs up.
The PC12 is so wonderful
Outstanding video, as usual. A beautiful aircraft!
Great video. Really interesting I love the PC 12
This aircraft might possibly be the most beautiful I’ve ever seen...
...of course she’s also out of my league .
As always...great work! Thx so much
CONGRATULATIONS ! The best video on this fantastic channel so far.
*Your voice extrudes knowledge , compassion and STRENGTH all at the same time. A true mark of a MAN!*
First time I had flown in an executive type beautiful plane
A fantastic presentation. Well done.
I love these videos; they are so well done and very informative.
Wonderful bird! Love PIlatus!
Thanks for the full and superbe presentation of that jewel.
Excellent review, as always!
Pratt&Whitney made a greate job with their new PT-6
Amazing what a little competition from GE can do.
@@terryboyer1342 Pratt&Whitney Canada have been in the turboprop business with the PT6 and other designs long enough to know exactly what they are doing with their new designs and tech implementation. They also know they cannot afford to be seen as falling behind (rest assured, some of this tech must have been developed some time ago and was just waiting for the right time to make its appearance on the market). P&W C also know that they won't get an easy pass if something goes wrong with the new PT6 design, in the same way that GE may, since GE does not have the same history and pedigree in the turboprop business and some may be inclined to judge them more leniently than P&W C, if something doesn't perform quite according to the standard expected. Between the two, I'd rather have a PT6 than the new GE. A tried and tested aviation legend from a company that has dominated the sector for decades, I think the PT6 is a better choice, especially in a single engine plane.
@@cuttight If you're not already, P&W Canada should make you head of their marketing dept! What a spiel!
@@terryboyer1342 lol - that would be nice!
I might actually afford one of these if I were. Nah, I don't have any vested interests in P&W C or anyone else. Just an aviation enthusiast with a (well) informed opinion.
Still waiting for the Antonov marathon. This is great though.
Very nice. I was aware of it but did not know the details. I would love to have one. Thank you!
Dear mr sky. Could you do a video regarding us to why the number of of props changes between airplanes and why no all airplanes use x amount of blades .
Excellent and informative video. Thanks!
Pilatus is always perfection.
until it bites you..
Omg that is one of the sexiest airborne structures I’ve ever laid eyes on....dang what a smooth and sleek design
The best avia-blogger!
Amazing review as per usual! keep them coming, especially about my favorite boy, the PC12
Many thanks as always. If you are covering turboprop private and corporate transport any chance of the Mitsubishi MU-2. I know it's an oldie but it is still high performance and I'd trust you to cover it fully, and not a silly sensational crash fest story.
Beautiful aircraft. Thanks a lot!
You Rock man, love your videos!!!
Enjoyed your presentation!!
Swiss masterpiece... built like a watch!
Outstanding Report!
Great video - very informative!
Awesome review.. Well done.
Piper M2 has selflanding tech. What do you make of that?
This is what's cool about Sky. The PC-12 is not a plane that I'd normally care much about especially when compared to large airliners and high-tech military aircraft, but Sky makes it interesting!
Thanks Sky, such a nice plane!
Always has been one of my favorite aircraft 😍😍✈️
Love the Pilatus PC-12 ❤🥰👍😎 If I ever have a few million 💰 to spend, This would be the plane. 😉👨✈️
When the Swiss do something, they do it right!
Super documentary!
Please give your many fans some words about you! For some reason when I hear you speak I feel happy.
Ty Sky! You do it well, very well
I want one. I’ll clear space under my Christmas tree.
Excellent review. Thx
Thank you, Sky. Here’s your 50th like.
A beautiful and very useful aircraft. I hope they sell loads of them.
😎 Very nicely written and presented!
Very good! Thanks.
Oh, the new NGX, heard about it
Not to pick nits, but the engine maker is Pratt and Whitney Canada. They are a division of a company called Pratt and Whitney who make turbofan engines. Both are owned by Raytheon.
15:03 And that, my friends, is why I never shop for Pilatus aircraft when I look for a new plane*. I don't need the whole cabin hooting for me when I go attend the nature's call.
*You know, if I had the money...
15:14 I'm concerned my turd won't fall straight in the hole and will just be laying on the outer rim. Screw that toilet/bathroom.
@Molloo3 Have you seem how to operate the Pilatus toilet? It is ridiculous. You have to assemble the door of the thing, takes forever to do it (If you don't believe me, check out Sky's video on a Pilatus jet). On a airliner you simply open the door and are in or out in a second.
And big difference on going do it on a big ass airliner, were almost everybody is distracted with a screen in front of them for entertainment and also have wide head-rests blocking forward view, and a tiny and claustrophobic airplane where is impossible to sneak out to do anything without literally everybody noticing it.
Other competitors simply have a conventional toilet in the back. They are simpler to operate and have no assembly required. Pilatus toilet solution is simply ridiculous.
Still better than an empty juice bottle.
Is the potty still emptied from inside of the cabin, or have they switched to external emptying like in PC24?
This was an excellent summary. Thank you!
Thank you for a very interesting video as always👍
Very nice...thank you for this video
What’s the little tumour on the right wing?
The radar dome
Diego Azcuy thanks
@Flinty94 incorrect. It’s a radar dome, or radome.
Great video! I like learning about aircraft that I never knew before. Cheers
I'd really, really like to see a comparison of this plane with a TBM 940. I am hard pressed to see a difference beyond some minor stat changes and a T-tail on the Pilatus. Please help us!
Pc12 is considerably larger then the TBM (12 ppl vs 6) TBM has 850 shaft horsies vs 1200 in the PC. TBM has G3000 flightdeck with autothrottle.
TBM is a corvette and the Pilatus is a Mercedes GLS
Was the aircraft made for the vid or vice versa ! You've sold it to me. Next step no doubt would be electric.
Interesting to see what even the perception of eventualDenali competition does to aircraft development. 1500 Hour tbo increase, 15% more economic while faster or more range. Fadec. They’re not sleeping at the wheel in Stans!
It's beautiful...
Beautiful plane.
What a beautiful plane ✈️
#9👍LIKE👏🎉Thanks for a new video!!💖
Awesome plane and video!
It’s also a beautiful bird
That registration... FUX :D lol
I have always wondered (since seeing them mounted on the wing of WWII night fighters) if the offset radar dome affect performance of the radar?
where would you mount it? propeller cone? tail? there's not many other options to mount it. beside the radar is most probably optimized for this position and software tweaked to take into account any peculiarities this mounting place induces. 😉
Great plane. I really want to buy it.
