    I bought this gun yesterday to use as an every day carry gun. I brought it home, cleaned it and shot 50 rounds through it. It performed flawlessly! I am not a handgun expert, so I’m happy to hear your positive review, it looks like I made a good purchase. Thank you and keep up the good work.

    Despite most of the reviews panning this pistol when it was released, I bought one. The biggest issue most reviewers had was the "false" reset that one experiences when not letting the trigger out completely, I think the reviewers who had this issue failed to acknowledge that this pistol isn't a race gun, it's a pocket EDC gun. This gun is going to be used in a self-defense situation where gross motor skills will rule and you don't try to finesse or stage the reset. It works just fine in that situation.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Agreed Mike. It also shows too many of the online “influencers” just don’t have the background knowledge needed to really know guns. I’ve not had any issues with mine, from the get-go. And as you say, I always make sure to completely allow any trigger to return to battery before pressing again. Glad you’re enjoying that cool little gun! Roy

    Best concealed carry gun i have ever owned. Reliable, capacity, accuracy, easily picked up sights, double safety to carry cocked n locked. 300 rounds and trigger has smoothed out, easy to field strip with 3/16 punch. Cant say enough good.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they’re real sleepers. Some early internet “testers” said they had trigger issues. I watched a couple of the videos and they were riding the trigger back, not allowing it to re-set completely at times. That was a user-induced issue, not a gun issue. My fingers comes off the trigger after each shot on any autopistol. It’s easy to get used to that and doesn’t affect accuracy at all since you still control the final press. Roy

    My daughter carries a SIG 238 and I really liked shooting it so thought I would go shopping for a 938. The gun shop I frequent suggested trying the CSX. I have a L-XL size hand and the CSX with the different sized back straps fit perfectly. Providing better control than the SIG grip, plus the increased capacity. The CSX offered equal concealability despite the thicker grip. I appendix carry and use a safariland 27-184 leather holster (made to accommodate a Ruger LC 9) and it is very comfortable and provides good retention.
    The "false reset" which hardly exists doesn't bother me at all. My single biggest complaint concerning the CSX is the stupid spacer on the 12 round magazine.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’d agree about the CSX vs. the 238. On that false re-set, I’ve fired hundreds of rounds through this and not a single one. The secret is don’t ride the trigger back to reset like they do on a crisp 1911 trigger. This trigger simply isn’t designed the same. I allow my trigger finger to come completely off the trigger when shooting a semi-auto. Robbie Latham who is an old bud, showed me that trick 25 years ago or more. As he said, during competition you can’t risk an issue with reset, so letting your finger off allows a complete reset every time. And it doesn’t slow things down and is as accurate as other methods. Just ask Robbie! Roy

    I love mine! Had a hiccup with a defective part early on but Smith and Wesson replaced the slide under warranty and I have now put over 1000 rounds through with zero issues. Well balanced, accurate at surprisingly long range, and easy to conceal. I know some guys moan about the trigger but after putting some rounds through, the “false reset” is not noticeable at all.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed Andrew. I think that false reset is actually people riding the trigger forward and not allowing it to re-set. My fingers comes completely off the trigger when I shoot a semi-auto. With just a bit of training, it’s easy to learn and solves that issue regardless of the gun. The 1911 is user-friendly when it comes to riding the trigger to re-set, but not most others. Roy

    Hello and thank you for the nice video. There are a lot of negative reviews about this firearm. Basically the reset on the trigger. Myself, I was brought up with a 1911, Colt, Series 80 in a .45 and I LOVE it. I am used to an external thumb SAFETY. I LIKE the fact and am USED to the fact and idea of manually putting a firearm on safe. I also LOVE the single action. I hope to purchase one VERY soon. I was also brought up NOT learning how to keep your finger on the trigger and utilizing the reset. So I am fairly sure I will get along with this pistol. Thank you again for the video! Take care... Steve in Colorado

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve, I think the trigger re-set “problem” isn’t a problem. I think it’s just what you say, people riding the trigger forward waiting for the re-set, but preventing it in actuality. It’s not a 1911 action so doesn’t respond like one. I let my finger come completely off the trigger on autos (other than a tuned 1911), to allow a full re-set. I’ve had zero issues with this gun so far and have several hundred rounds through my test gun at this point. I really like it! Roy H.

    neat little ccw pistol.
    in my opinion your first group for accuracy was high left b/c you were anticipating recoil.
    that's why on your rapid fire group you were more centered b/c you were focusing on getting hits on target rather than anticipating recoil.
    i'd get more comfortable with shooting it rather than go adjusting your sights yet.

      It's possibly he adjusted his aim after the first group, too. First group was possibly just to see how well it grouped. I know that's what I do when I try out a new gun. See how well it groups and where those groups are going. I'm a good enough shooter to adjust my aim to compensate for a sight that is a little off.

    I saw and held one at Academy yesterday. I shoot, now, a .380 EZ (arthritis in thumbs and wrist), but I can't get this CSX out of my head. It is way more comfortable to hold, and, with my small hands and short trigger reach, unlike the EZ, it doesn't force me to awkwardly cant the pistol against the base of my thumb to get my trigger crease where it needs to be. And it very naturally aligns in my grip so that the three-dot sights are pointed and equally separated just right for trigger pull without hand to grip adjustment. I really have enjoyed the exceptional reliability of my EZ, but I think I'm going to have to switch.

      Les, I sure haven’t had any trigger issues. I think people may be riding the trigger to the re-set point (like many do on a 1911) but I’ve always found to let your finger actually come off the trigger, then re-press assures a re-set. If you watch me shooting you can see (in some footage) my finger comes completely off the trigger at the return, then I press again. Even when shooting faster. Rob Leatham calls it “slapping” but really you’re still pressing. He’s just so damn fast it looks like slapping! Roy H.

    I bought one last week.....then had to go buy another the next day. Because she liked it and id knew I would lose it 😅. Plus they basically gave them to me. A local big box farm store had them single for 549. Or the one with the plano 5 pistol box, ear pro, eye pro and the bore cleaner for 379.99 then on top,of that they had 15 percent off of their clearance guns so it took another 50 some off as well. I found if you just allow the trigger to reset completely, there's never an issue. You can't treat it like a 4 pound 1911 trigger. I let my finger come off the trigger on each shot. Easy. I agree there's no issue! Roy

    • @fmgpubs

      Thanks Jimmy. The vast majority of guns today are “good” guns. Some just need a bit of a learning curve to understand them and assure they work correctly. Plus, at times, a brand new design might have a bit of teething issues with some of the production (ours all ran great) so patience is often the best course as makers sort things out if needed. My gf bought the csx about a month ago. The only complaint I have about shooting it is the fact you have to complete release the trigger before firing the next round. (Stupid trigger safety) hopefully you will be able to upgrade the trigger group in the near future. Other than the blunder I did enjoy your review and it is awesome that you replied promptly and earnestly. For that sir I comend you.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My pleasure sir. I tend to get my finger completely off triggers whenever I shoot, and have never had any issues with re-set problems like many seem to. I think people who ride the trigger forward hopling to just catch the re-set, then press again, often run into trouble. Many testers of this gun had that issue, but blamed it on the gun. Enjoy that fun gun! Roy@@loringtillson1187

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PUHLEASE show us videos on how you updated your other weapons with the flat, 1911-style triggers!!! I would (and will) replace ALL OF MINE with 1911-style triggers, if it isn't crazy complicated or expensive. Oh, and by the way, the AWESOME-IST mustache on TH-cam.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your kind comments on my mustache. It does seem to sometimes have more followers than I have! On the 1911 triggers, you can get drop-in flat faced triggers for 1911s from many sources like Brownells, Midway, etc. Apex makes flat-faced triggers for some autos like Rugers, SIGs, Springfields, etc. Does that help or did I misunderstand your question? It’s addictive … it’s like an Officer’s ACP but I think it’s more comfortable and certainly easier to carry. Mine has been running fine. I think the complaints you hear about trigger re-set is due to the fact so many people tend to ride the trigger forward, not allowing it to re-set. Roy

      Despite the press getting "special" examples, the gun DOES have several issues, including the trigger. The field strip is made harder than it should be. Add a little more to the pin and it'll work better. my example is wildly inaccurate.

    I bought one of these, luckily the only one in my entire area in stock, and I've just enjoyed it.
    People complain about the false reset but it's really not that bad, there is a faint click and then a normal reset. That's not something that ever caused me any issues.

    • @fmgpubs

      Agreed on the re-set. I think people are riding the trigger forward and not allowing a complete re-set. They are inducing the problem. Note when I shoot an auto, my finger actually comes off the trigger face after each shot to assure they re-set. Mine’s been running 100 percent. Roy

    I've shot this at the range twice and so far I love it and would definitely consider buying one. The only real negative that I noticed last time I tried it was that the 12-round magazine wouldn't load past the 9th round or so even with an UpLula loader. Is that very common with this gun?

      I read on Hickok45 review of this gun in the comments, that the spring may be installed backwards in the mag. Take it out, swap it around and it works fine. You'll have to sort through the comments there to read it exactly, but that's what I believe was the issue.

    Great review. It's a good gun in my opinion and I really think people have been entirely unfair in their reviews and online opinions... and I think that really destroyed the gun before anyone got a chance to actually try it out. Countless people were excited to buy one when they came out, but then never bothered, because of the poor reviews. One of the main things was the false reset on the trigger... but there are other (very) popular guns that have that also. The LCP models and the similar guns like the Kel Tec P32 and P3AT and I think the TCP models. There are others too that aren't exactly like all those models, but I can't recall any specific one's at the moment. Personally, I don't think any gun should have a false reset. I think it's a fixable problem and is poor design... but at the same time, it's not nearly as big of a deal as people made it with the CSX. I know some people don't like the LCP false reset and have mentioned it in videos and reviews... but I think they just went completely overboard when it came to the false reset on the CSX. (I really hope they do a Performance Center model with some upgrades and also that they come out with a version 2 that fixes the problems that some people think are bad. I think it might have a much better or at least more chance then... assuming people don't come up with other excuses to hate on it).

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The simple thing is people ride the trigger forward and don’t allow it to completely re-set. When I shoot a semi-auto I allow my finger to come completely off the trigger, then re-engage the trigger to press again. I learned that from Robbie Latham and other competitors as they don’t want to risk that false re-set. It is a good gun and as you say, was poorly reviewed by most. Roy
