    Your set-up videos are by far the BEST I have seen on TH-cam in years. The explanations, the steps, reasoning you give, as well as suggestions literally answer every question someone may have.. I always look for little ways people work on their guitars, and different methods.... now I only refer to your videos... It's not even close...best videos by far, especially for a Strat guy like myself ...please never stop making them... TH-cam needs you... Thank you buddy... 🎸🙏

    Very comprehensive and easy going.
    I have this same model, the one built in China around 10 years ago. It came pretty nice from the factory but I had to make some fine adjustments, very much the same as you did them here. A very nice a d inexpensive Stratocaster, indeed.

    Super clean workshop, man I just want to rush there with 10 guitars and make a mess! XD
    Some things I also like to check (maybe you did but not covered in the video):
    - neck screws, there is always at least one that is loose a bit
    - make 2note bends on high strings on every fret above 12 to make sure it is not chooking out
    - do the last fine tune of intonation in playing position not on the bench (especially if it is a bolt on neck)
    - polish nut slots, with cheap plastic and synthbone nuts the wounded strings are usually sticking a bit, I use some fine (1200-2000) sandpaper to make the slots more slippery and it takes 5 mins
    - and at the beginning I ask the owner: what tunning and what string gauge, if he has no idea I make the setup with more tolerance

      Thanks for watching - I hope you have subscribed to my channel? I dont show everything when I do a setup but I also ask the client what they want - a basic setup or full setup and service where I check over the guitar head to toe... most just want the basic service.
      I have never found a noticeable difference in checking the guitar on the bench or in playing position.

    Great job giving love to that beautiful Squier. Great explanations and flow. I tried a couple yesterday and the look awesome but they didn't feel as good as I expected, and I believe they needed a proper setup. To my surprise, I enjoyed much more the Sterling Cutlass - lower price. The finishing quality of the Sterling is almost non existent - needs proper fret work - but they feel like more reliable instrument when it comest to tuning stability across the neck and consistent feel. Long-winded comment. Keep those videos coming!

    I had the 2014 tobacco burst. They originally came with the modern C neck. A bit thin for me. I thought I read that they changed the neck on them to a standard C. Don't know if that's the case or not. If it is, I'd consider buying one again.

    looks pink on video, the 1st 50 cv strat i got s pine but had about an inch and a quarter crack lengthwise inside the trem spring cavity, the replacement I received from Sweetwater definitely isn't pine as an unpainted rectangular patch inside the control cavity. it looks like mahogany, though doubt that fender would use mahogany on an import. replaced the tone cap with a 033uf to squelch the brightness though not as dark as a .047 but not as thin sounding as the supplied .022., blocked trem, otherwise impressed, great bang for the buck and have been playing 60 years.

    How you doing? Funny when you said, loose output jack because mine was too. I bought my Squier 60's classic vibe stratocaster in April 2020. Once I looked inside I couldn't get a wrench on the but and maybe they have the same problem once they solder the wires. Also made in Indonesia. Seems one problem with one is a problem with a lot. If you have any tips on how you fix it , I'd appreciate it. Peace.

    Hey on the Japanese fender 50s version the strats are very thin and comfortable compared to american and mexican strats, did you noticed the same with this squier or are the frets the same thickness as all regular strats? Also the neck on the Japanese is very thin and comfortable to play on as well the weight felt very light at 7lbs. I much preferred the japanese version

    I don't believe its roasted just a heavy tint to make it look vintage.. I usually check string action at 12th fret.. curious why you are further down the duty end.. lol? I'm sure it is negligible past the 12th fret.. nice vids.. i have a 2020 CV 70's .. great guitar.. trem block needs an upgrade.. pickup height needs adjusting.. and I was able to lower the action to 4/64=E and 3/64 = e.. but i notice i need some leveling on the 19th fret.. a little buzz there.. a great guitar for the money.. and they look great.. a little love and it punches over its weight for sure.. nice small strobe tuner.. what brand if I may ask??

    • @ManotickGuitarTech
      @ManotickGuitarTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Customer should Replace the bridge as those 6 screw bridges go out of tune way too easy , the 2 point falcon trem system is superior and yeah i do my own setup on my Strat , i have sheet metal worker tools that my late father left me , he had things like a Vernier measuring gauge so i can get extreme accuracy when setting the action of the strings , truss road adjustments are a pain though always a nightmare. And i like how you do the intonation by doing harmonics at 1 octave to get it but it can never be 100% accurate.

    • @ManotickGuitarTech
      @ManotickGuitarTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two point trems are definitely better - this is Vintage vibe guitar though. I like to be consistent with my measurements but this isn't a very precise craft😁

    I have a question(beginner question) when you adjust the fret and do the fretwork you did, do you have to adjust every time you get new strings?

    • @ManotickGuitarTech
      @ManotickGuitarTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you change your strings frequently (let's say once a month) and keep the same string gauge, you shouldn't have to do any adjustments. However, if you only change your strings , say, every 3 or 4 months, then you probably will have to tweak the truss rod to adjust the neck relief due to seasonal variations. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already!
