Just got my Volante because of your helpful video on Hank Marvin. Will look into this Squier. Very interesting that you play with the Volume backed off and can bring it up for overdrive or distortion. Were you playing into a distortion pedal. Was the Volante in this video. I admire your playing style.
For the Hank sound, I'd use the back pickup wide open, to get the clarity, but in this video I used an overdrive and the volume on the guitar, just to show the variety of sounds without having to change settings.
I have a CV50s made in Indonesia and i love it, the guitar punches well above its weight. I have thought about trading it for the new Fender player ii but every time I play it, I start having second thoughts about trading it in. I check the used market to see what they are selling for but there aren’t too many for sale, so owners of the CV’s are holding on to them
I have an original Chinese made Classic Vibe 50's, they are widely considered to be even better than those now made in Indonesia. Fender had a hard time selling higher end Strats because of that! I think it might have been the first time in history that people complained about an item no longer being made in China. :)
Just got one and I am honestly shocked at how good it is. Plays better than my old highway one Texas tele. Fit and finish are incredible for the money.
These CV’s are awesome guitars for anyone working with a strict budget cap. If you can afford a proper Fender Strat, buy it. If not, get the Squire. Hey, it’s still a Fender!
My other half bought me a new Tanglewood strat copy about 15ys ago with ceramic entwhisstle pick ups,it mimics strat quack brilliantly tobacco sunburst good weight I love it, enjoying the channel cheers from Ireland 👍
nice video, i'm between this and the 70s HSS, worried that i'm gonna need the humbacker but i'll probably change pickups in the future and i like this gorgeous red body
I own exact same guitar. After I set it up a little better than out of the box….is one of my favorite guitars. I own about 20 “ real” Strats……USA, Mexican and MIJ…….this one is better than about 1/2 of them.
The Squier Stratocaster Classic vibe...AS GOOD AS ANY FENDER STRATOCASTER!...buy as many as you can...they'll be a solid investment better than money in the bank
I have one of those guitars it’s amazing I’m more of a Gibson / Epiphone guy but my squire classic vibe 50s strat is a fantastic guitar I changed the scratch plate to the pearl one but other than that everything else is the same your video is absolutely the same as I found this guitar anyone looking for a guitar should get one of these, got to be red haha like the lord and master Mr Hank Marvin
It feels great now, I'm no expert on guitar setup so it took me a while to get it how I wanted it. The frets are pretty good, I needed to tweak the nut slots and adjust the neck and saddles to get it to feel right. The 1st string buzzed, but I fixed that by angling the nut slot a little more and adjusting the truss rod.
@@evergladesrhythm may I ask what did you do with the saddles? It seems that my strings are ringing on the saddles as well, everything else seems fine. Guitar is about a week old :)
I have a vintage 1979 Stratocaster...And to be honest..My Squier 2011 Classic Vibe Stratocaster was so good I upgraded the Bridge to a USA specs and its a much better guitar than any of my USA guitars or vintage JV Japanese Stratocasters.. Sorry Fender..
This strat nails it , i can hear the Hank sound clearly :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great
Thanks! Hank is amazing isn't he.

That is awesome! You are going to love the Volante, try messing with the ‘Wear’ control, you can really dual in some analog magic!

Sounds great
Thanks!

Makes sense

Hahah
No Chinese
Sounds totally "authentic", & that maple neck is quite beautiful.
Thank you so much.

I have one, it sings but you have to change the cheap bridge for a vintage style Fender that is very affordable.
Great instruments regardless of price and a well-done video highlighting and explaining its capabilities. Cheers!
Glad you liked it! Cheers

@@evergladesrhythm I've actually got a 2013 in surf green which I bought new. And it's staying put.😊

That’s cool- thanks Brian. Glad you found the videos.
Fret polishing is top notch, super smooth

For the money this guitar is a great choice.
I have 3 bullet Indonesia Stratocaster with fender pickups, and everybody should play one!
Nice
Squier Classic Vibe stratocasters are true blue strats. I think Leo Fender would approve. Cheers!
True!
I own exact same guitar. After I set it up a little better than out of the box….is one of my favorite guitars. I own about 20 “ real” Strats……USA, Mexican and MIJ…….this one is better than about 1/2 of them.
Love it!
I have the same exact guitar, got it for $80 years ago. Honestly plays better than some fenders I've had.
Very cool
These 50’s FSR Squier s Strats are fantastic guitars
I bought two of them in the fiesta red 🎸🎸
Two!? Awesome.
Really interesting video ! Great sound ! Thank you for sharing !
Many thanks! So glad you found the channel.

I really enjoyed the review. Liked and subscribed.
Awesome, thank you! I have always loved the Fiesta red Strats!
Do you have any tuning problems when you use the term arm ?
I love pine or any light wood.
How much does it weigh?
It weighs 7.4 pounds, so it feels nice and light.
Breaking the bank or breaking INTO the bank?
How does it feel to play? Are the frets like shit? Are there dead spots on the neck?
It feels great now, I'm no expert on guitar setup so it took me a while to get it how I wanted it.
The frets are pretty good, I needed to tweak the nut slots and adjust the neck and saddles to get it to feel right.
The 1st string buzzed, but I fixed that by angling the nut slot a little more and adjusting the truss rod.
How did you get rid of the string buzz?
I had to play with the truss rod, the saddles and I had to file a tiny bit off the back side of the nut, to get a better connection.
@@evergladesrhythm may I ask what did you do with the saddles? It seems that my strings are ringing on the saddles as well, everything else seems fine. Guitar is about a week old :)
The 40th anniversary model is better 😊
I'll have to check it out.
When you bend a string. Is it effortless or do you find that you have to really fight the guitar unlike your other strats?
I have fairly heavy strings for the Shadows style sound, but it still bends nicely.

I did exactly the same!
