One thing worth considering for the anti Ike stuff, per example my Reinhardt one tech i AM planning on using is miracle Special Rein to open the way for the possibility of more failures with a nuke that Ike Just can't kill

I’m happy that DAltina got a mention in this. I just want to point out that NCD is still useful to counter LHinoka as she has the power to kill her on the second hit.
It’s definitely useful. I just see so many teams run Lyon as their only sweep unit.
To NOBODY'S surprise if you've seen me lurking around or happened upon my FEH videos, I'm a huge Saizo simp. Ofc my fav Omnitank is... Dagger Saizo. No, this isn't a joke, he genuinely tanks some units my Ninja Saizo can't (well, haven't gotten around testing him with Laguz Friend yet but, we'll see).
19:52 post combat healing doesn't heal even if you kill the Fatal Smoke unit it's just that this effect doesn't go beyond the combat with the Fatal Smoke unit.
I actually think this is the best Omni tank vid rn I gonna send this to ppl who are having a hard time.

I love this series! It's heartwarming watching old favorites compete competently in such an insane meta!
My favourite Omnitank is actually Ratataskr. The amount of DR she gets with Beast Sense is surprising, the healing she has is nice, her attack and speed is ridiculous and doubling shreds all of the nukes that negate your first attack, her movement and ability to be constantly surrounded by an anti-warp field is invaluable for positioning and picking the right fights, and the fact she can do hit-and-run so well is nice for when the enemy's Duo Leon was placed in or ran out to a poor spot. (The fact she has Spring Mirabilis with Rockslide 4 and the Ike ring is nice too)
Obviously it doesn't work all the time - light season exists and she can't take on every team - but it's surprisingly effective and certainly a ton of fun.
All this + Laguz Friend + the inevitable ( and hopefully soon) breath of life 4. Omnitanks finally eating again

I use tanking so rarely that it usually would have taken me awhile to come up an answer to your initial question. But since I did win an AR match this past week by tanking with L!Seliph, I guess I'll go with him. Usually, tanking means calculating so many different permutations that it's easier to just use hit-and-run or galeforce.

@FEH Yeah, to be fair he's definitely not perfect but speed stacking with silent breath and the stat reversal effect has always been fun to me

But kidding aside, you nailed it perfectly. Having one unit to tank and potentially kill everything gets harder every year. It does not mean that it is impossible, but at recent times it aint as optimal especially with the melt shenanigans we have right now.
Great video! For me personally, my favorite Omnitank has to be L!F!Alear, but that's just my biased thoughts, she is my favorite character in the series after all 😉
Please do one for Anna next, and id love to see one for Takumi as well, since IntSys traded Virion for him as the free archer

I’ve been trying to make a brave Lucina Omni tank work for a long time, I’m hoping I can get some ideas from this because they’re both lance infantry units
The burning/melting thing is something i really do not like at the moment
I do really like the dragon omni tank, and scowl does also really help with that one. With grail units i really like Fargus with his tempo effect, and the new echo guard. Can also do stuff with the Laguz friend skill like an ignis counter if he survives an attack but that is just an really good new skill
I did sd a lot yesterday with emblem Ike and l! Female alear as my two Omni tanks, supported by duo Chloe, the new mirabilis and Tina. I know it’s not like it’s high rank sdr or anything but the Tina and Mira support was so good that Ike never even came close to dying 😂 even tanked a duo igrene thanks to his pulse smoke effect taking her aoe offline.
Brave celica is my fave omnitank. I got her fully decked out, and i love her resplendant art.
would love to see a list of melee units that can actually kill ike i only ran into one and that was a bulked up diamant with lul atk def 4 which was super good against ike suprisingly
I got it in my head that i want to build the base trio. Is there a resource like a website to learn how to go about it efficiently? I quit for years and got a bunch of free orbs from maps so now i can maybe do some things.
I wish we could get completely new askr trio weapons, and some way to get merges. In the past it might've been an issue that they score too well in arena and are always bonuses, but nowadays they're so weak and have such bad BST that it would typically be better to just use an unmerged new unit so you can actually get bonus kills.
I have to say that I think it's a bit unfair to factor in a +10 engaged emblem when it comes to stacking stats given how expensive that is.
I kind of appreciate it though because Sharena has a relatively low bst and can't be merged. So I took it as a display of how attainable a lance build could be since we can use a newer unit or one with merges to make up the difference in emblem stats.
The structure is really supposed to be, “Here’s the absolute maximum you can do, but here’s how you can do it cheaply.” The only problem with that is, I can’t dial back the merges on my Marth. The cheap build should be viable with a +0 Marth, though. You’ll still need summoner support.
I used to use omnitank stuff all the time, but it's gotten a lot harder as of late. I still use Lucia a decent amount, but since CYL, I've mainly been using B!Soren to deal with the ranged foes and Arcane Luin/GLR Nephenee as his decoy/near save. Loved the video. Shows you what you can do with the right support units. Gotta mention that the information about fatal smoke is incorrect, though. It is true that if you kill the foe, then you don't get inflicted with deep wounds after. But fatal smoke prevents healing during AND AFTER that specific combat even if the fatal smoke unit dies. So Hortensia's post-combat healing will do nothing to save Ike (or other omnitanks) from multiple nukes with fatal smoke. Actually, if fatal smoke didn't stop post-combat healing, Ike would be immune to it since his healing from Great Aether comes after combat with his AoE damage. Unfortunately, there is zero way around Fatal Smoke's prevention on post-combat healing. Even on armors using Special Fighter 4, the deep wounds 50% reduction effect only applies to healing during combat.

Echidna's my personal favorite. I built her a long time ago and then she got a banger refine :)
Sadly my Sharena isnt that built. But its not the worse. She has kumo naginata, moonbow or aether depending on arena or AR, surge sparrow or ATK spd finish depending on her teammates, Seal Def 4 and Atk spd pledge 4.
Take everything from caeda? You forget that def/res oath 3 is only on her and duo alphonse. It takes 6 to take her D bonus doubler, oath 3+pledeg, and guard echo
ive been and still using my +10 flame lyn to tank most shit and while she cant tank the most newer gen nukes due to power creep i just nuke em with gullveig but thats about it also about my lyn i put a distant counter seal on her.
My favorite omnitank are L! Seliph and Lucia, they're such a beast both

Im friends of players with Japanese characters and nowadays, their nukes are now geared with fatal smokes and AoE builds. Looks like these players are welcoming for Emblem Ike with open arms 🤣
PS: Can't get to Rank 1 because I need to be on a Whale status to do so. Best thing I can do is add a number on top of a red chair 🤣

It's absolutely possible, I've seen (and tanked) some insane things with my favourite omni tank that realistically should not be possible with how far the nuking meta has gone.
The problem is usually HP conservation. The follow ups after Lyon are tough to handle.
@@FEH I'll be showing my unit off in your upcoming hero review (and hopefully explaining things more there), but the HP conversion for the follow up was not an issue at all.

My friend, you just watched one of the Askr trio take on rank 1 defenses. Anything is possible! I will say that Emblem Marth is one of the most valuable units in the game. I would highly suggest you save up some orbs for the May legendary banner because he shares with Emblem Ike.
