Great video Adam, very interested indeed and could be something I do when I need to replace current battery. However. I would like to know, as the battery is now in a slightly different position, over stock do you have battery terminal guards to prevent shorting in the bonnet and are you able to get a battery cover to provide protection to the battery relating to the elements. Are you not supposed to using any grease on the terminals with these batteries to prevent corrosion? Many thanks Adam.
Me too. Odyssey makes great batteries, but I think odds are good that this one will die early compared to if it was the proper size. 170 CCA and 16 Ah is very low for an automotive application. I doubt that this motorcycle battery was designed to supply anywhere near as much current as a car's starter draws, especially in cold weather. Batteries are heavy and expensive, so manufacturers have no incentive to install larger batteries than necessary.
I'm curious to see if this lighter battery setup can match the power requirements of a more conventionally-sized battery. I'm running a front- and rear-dashcam which increases the electricity requirements of my RS.
I heard that the quality and performance output on these has dropped over the years. Some people were saying it drains quicker with high shock load (rough roads, terrain etc.) idk just things I’ve heard. Take it with a grain of salt. Was gonna get one for my ST mk3.5. Maybe they just got a shotty battery from sitting so long on shelves, who knows. Haha
Where did you get the terminal kit from please Adam?? I’ve had everything else for a couple of months now, just never got round to the terminal kit. 🙄 cheers bud, very helpful vid, installation looks pretty straight forward, very well detailed. Well done 👍
Can you do an update how this battery is performing? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm curious if you need to maintain it, this would be a problem for me since there's no electricity where I park it.
Anyone come across an issue with the battery where one of the posts is too small? The negative side can tighten snugly with the stock terminal connector, but for some reason the positive side is loose and it pops right off with no effort. Tried putting a spacer on it, but then the terminal connector wouldn’t fit at all..
Hi there, I am not. I switched back to a regular type battery because I wasn't driving the car often enough to retain enough charge in it to start the motor. If driving the car at least every couple of days or keeping a trickle charger connected when not in use then it would be perfect
Nice work Adam. Can you give us an update on the performance of the battery in service?
Nice video, thank you! Also, what camera and editing software you used?
cheers! I Use a Canon G7X Mk2 camera and then Apple Final Cut Pro for editing
Adam, can you please let us know how the battery is holding up?
FFS Adam.
Just got my kit for the ST about 3 weeks ago, now I just need to source the battery. Great tutorial on installing this tray.

Would be curious how it performs long-term. Great install and video!

Wooooo! First comment! Thanks for the great Vids Adam!!
Cheers Blake 😊
Without a doubt one of the best upgrades or just replacement when times expires on oem battery to do,great job Adam

Great question. I also have a front and rear cam.

Hi Scott, I got it from murraymotorsport.com and the part number is ODY3217-0006
Great vid, did you change the BMS settings? Using Forscan?
Cheers Simon, I didn't but that would be a good idea
@@AdamRainey I had mine installed yesterday and reset the BMS, I also changed the settings from wet battery to AGM to hopefully prevent overcharging 👍

Would it work with the start/stop?
I don't think so, start stop is why the stock battery is so big so this battery would struggle even in optimal conditions
How is the battery holding up Adam?
It got a bit annoying. Because I wasn't driving the car all the time, the battery would struggle to crank so I just put an oem battery back in
@@AdamRainey Thank you for the reply, thats good to know.

I had my PC680 for 2+ years and zero issues before I got rid of the car, then used the same battery in another car no problem
Are you still using this battery?

Haha I love your cat :3
