IKR? You aren't living in a house for some future buyer. It's your house, paint it how you want it to be cuz you're the one living in it. And if at some point you decide to sell it, hire some painters to come through and paint the entire thing "agreeable gray" or whatever is in style. Not that difficult or expensive. Paint is CHEAP

When people come over my house for the first time, they always say, "Wow, it's very YOU in here." I never knew whether or not to take it as a compliment, but now I understand it completely! Your house is very much YOU! And yes, it is a compliment! As long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters. I say paint away!!! It is only paint! I never understood why people are so afraid of paint. It is easy to repaint. id be more afraid of buying wrong sofa. It costs way more. Here in Canada grey has been in vogue for quite a while which is abhorrent to me considering how long winter can be here. I went to paint store and employees told me they only mix grey, beige and i was an exception because I wanted coral and sunshine yellow. Anyway, have fun!!!! I love it!
Sofa, bedframes in fabric and so on. Expensiv to change and verry annoying to do. I even seen a house all was to uset over kitchen color to buy. And said they should have made the kitchen for most people instead of just some now when it ended up them selling. We don't know why selling. Divorce, death, sickness so house don't fit them. Just buy the house repaint the kitchen and tada but that was apperntly to much

I have no pre vision & would never have imagined it to look good, not even if you were trying to explain it in my choice of colors! Ariel has such fantastic talent, I think she could have made mud look great❤!!! My heart did hurt when she painted the door😢but Even that turned out great & I can admit that the natural wood, would have liked Out Of Place if it were left as it was, I think😊!
I (30F) painted my bedroom pink after years of trying to convince myself I was going to do something "more adult" and I honestly love it. I chose this great dusty rose color and went with a slightly whimsical slightly cottage-core theme and lots of nice tall white bookshelves with plants and antique books. Pink can be such a great wall color if styled properly and it gets such a bad rap just because it's girly and therefore childish like all those notions aren't just made up anyway.
You raising the flexispot desk while lying on top of it is easily the best endorsement of it, and may be what pushes me over the edge to buy one. I never thought they looked sturdy but they can hold a whole person!
17 years ago i painted my bedroom walls metalic teal and the ceilisiland trim silver...i still absolutely LOVE it...but i was thinking i should perhaps do a fresh coat as it is now almost 20 years old ❤❤❤ i am glad you were able to paint your room such wonderful colors :) i think there are people who love bright colors and those who don't. Just like some people like a lot of noise and others do not. Not everyone has the luxury to make their environment into a space that makes their soul sing but i am so happy that you can

My husband painted my office at a California University bubblegum pink. That was 15 years ago and its still pretty and it makes everyone who cones in happy. High recommend on pink rooms. Good for you to go all in.
If you're looking to make things "dusty" or less saturated, take a colour wheel and find the opposite on the wheel to the colour you're working with and mix a small amount in. So in this case the opposite of red is green, so mixing some green into your pink would make it more toned down and earthy/dusty. The exception to this is purple if you want to go darker, since the opposite is yellow it will lighten your purple, so use burnt umber (a kind of brown) if dark earthy is the goal.
The room is beautiful, and your home is just delightful. My only objection is that you said you don’t have any “designer” items in your closet! I understand your point, but your creations are nothing less than well-designed manifestations of your creativity and skill. I’d argue they’re superior to many designer goods. Kisses to your sweet cat!

The color variations in the wall paint is everything. I love pink and just got a sample of a very light, cool pink paint for a bathroom. I thought I was going to hate the desk but when it dried I loved the dark pink splotches. Trust the process! You need artwork on the walls to finish the room .
when you work with power tools, protect your ears ! when you work on wood, protect your respiratory system and your eyes ! in other words : glasses, mask and earplug, you got them all : congratulation !
I love it! I shared a bedroom w/ my sister, and it was pink w/ flower power print curtains & sheets. Our carpet was bright green, & we had bright green bean bag chairs. Ahhh, the 70's! ☮✌
The room looks great. Points for going in with conviction. The dark wood elements look kinda hard. You could try the balayage technique. Paint the lower part of the furniture with a paint that is in between pink and the wood in color, hue and brightness. Just use very little paint, brush it in with a rag on edges and high corners. Would do so much

While in real time the work was most likely strenuous, the editing made it look like so much fun (and pushes me to do something, anything with my space).This is now a beautiful room which tells so many stories and has multiple functionality, I was not looking at the curtains. While watching paint dry is the fav statement for illustrating boredom, in this instance watching paint, wallpaper and glue being stripped from surfaces had an oddly hypnotic and relaxing effect on me (full disclosure I do not get out much👀).

For the pouring technique. If you want to give it another try next time. I would recommend investing in pouring acrylic paint. It's simply because paint wall consistency doesn't seem to behave as it should be with the pouring medium. The personal way I do pouring is with acrylics, liquifying medium and a little of water.
Love the different tones of pink you were able to achieve. Very moody & "painterly" ! Loved the white molding, looked crisp against the pink. Love the "paint pour" desk - turned out incredible! Love the ad read ! Lol ! You going up & down was hilarious, and as someone else mentioned, shows how sturdy it is !
The house my husband and I bought almost two years ago was entirely grey. I’ve been saying since we bought it that we’re making it less grey one room at a time. Our bedroom is dark teal, my craft room is deep purple, or closet is light green, one of the bathrooms is bright royal blue, and we just painted our living room a gorgeous emerald green. It makes me so happy every day and I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Next priority for me is the grey kitchen cabinets. 😈
I love that table top! It looks like a slice of ham, and that makes me happy. If you put coasters and placemats on it, make them look like slices of onion, tomato, and pickles. 🥪
I LOVE the splashy/splotchy pink, you piked great complimentary pinks :) It reminds me of old palaces or manors where there was sometime a *color* room, this is your pink room in the whimsical wing of your manor!
You may want to check the polymer ratio on your medium. Assuming it's acrylic (aka plastic based, like most modern paints are made.) if the polymer structure is distorted by more than 30% it will lose strength, become unstable with use and the pigment will flake off overtime. If you're interested, there's a good book called, 'The Artists handbook'. It's got a lot of information about mediums, pigments, painting and much more.(I'm not sure if it was published in French) If you cab, try to find the 82' version or earlier because later editions don't go into as much detail about the chemical structure or the best way to make your own materials/tools. Instead, the latter versions become more branded and more of a how to paint or sculpt or do insert fine arts task.
Whimsigoth! I'm a traditional goth that also loves color. Your house is so cozy and magical! My dressing style is traditional Goth, but my home aesthetic is between whimsigothic Witch and Goblincore lol. I don't have anything pink , but I have tons of green and a sort of apricot color in a couple of rooms.

I had my room a dark pink from age 12 to 16. Went purple at 16 until I changed it to blue at 29 last year. One wall then has white wallpaper with bluey speckles and it’s glittery. I love my room. We’re going with a fun colourful wallpaper for the conservatory. Gotta have colour. Can’t stand white or magnolia walls

You may want to check the polymer ratio on your medium. Assuming it's acrylic (aka plastic based, like most modern paints are made.) if the polymer structure is distorted by more than 30% it will lose strength, become unstable with use and the pigment will flake off overtime.
If you're interested, there's a good book called, 'The Artists handbook'. It's got a lot of information about mediums, pigments, painting and much more.(I'm not sure if it was published in French)
If you cab, try to find the 82' version or earlier because later editions don't go into as much detail about the chemical structure or the best way to make your own materials/tools. Instead, the latter versions become more branded and more of a how to paint or sculpt or do insert fine arts task.

My dressing style is traditional Goth, but my home aesthetic is between whimsigothic Witch and Goblincore lol. I don't have anything pink , but I have tons of green and a sort of apricot color in a couple of rooms.

I had my room a dark pink from age 12 to 16. Went purple at 16 until I changed it to blue at 29 last year. One wall then has white wallpaper with bluey speckles and it’s glittery. I love my room. We’re going with a fun colourful wallpaper for the conservatory. Gotta have colour. Can’t stand white or magnolia walls
