As for someone who's "first" car is a 2006 Toyota Prius I share with my mom, after ordering my Charger GT, I can safely say it's a fantastic car and I absolutely love it.
It is a great car. This guy just doesn't have any idea what he's talking about, other than trying to shill the manual V8 model, which shifts like absolute shit.
I drive a prius currently. Rented a Challenger GT and have to say the hate is unwarranted considering the price. It won't break records but its got healthy power, reasonable gas mileage, and looks badass. It does what it sets out to do well.
I drive a 17 Prius and considering a Challenger GT as well. I drove one and loved it too. The only thing that sucked was parking it in the small parking spots at the dealer. However the speed, comfort, and features were A1. Im in between the Chally and the Eco Mustang.
@@BoyanRushkov Sure, if you care about such things. I’d prefer, you know, that it be a better car. Muscle cars traditionally don’t handle well either but I wouldn’t mind having a gt350...
Challenger GT is a great Challenger option for a daily driver in the north or northeast. All other Challengers are useless in the Snow/Rain/ice. So for those who want to be able to drive your Challenger November thru March, the Challenger GT is the only choice. The Pentastar engine is a great Engine, and the fuel economy is also great.
True Jim. I had a 2011 Challenger for 7 years. I loved it in the summer but drove my old 1995 Saturn in the winter. I live in Nebraska and my Challenger wouldn’t even get up a “rise” (not high enough to qualify for a hill) in the winter. I ended up selling it with 43,000 miles on it (I only put 24k of those on). I miss that car though and want to get another one but have to have an AWD.
Rain isn't bad. Nothing drives well on ice, much less stops well. Snow... forget about it unless you can keep up momentum and forget about getting up hills.

I bought a 2017 Challenger GT back in March and I love it. 1) it’s AWD and I live in Northern Michigan, 2) I love the body style, 3) it’s big enough in the back seat for me to fit three car seats in if needed. Is it under powered compared to the V8’s? Yes. Is it faster than anything I’ve owned up until this point? Also Yes. I think it’s a great first “muscle” car for people who live in northern climates. My wife can get in and drive it no problem and I don’t have to worry about her losing control. It serves a very specific purpose and it does that very well. That being said, I will probably drive this for 5-7 years and then when my kids are older buy a summer Challenger with a V8 in it….
I have a 22 Charger Gt and I 100% love it. Even if money was no object, I would buy a GT over anything else (unless I'm living in a fantasy world where I can own and store multiple cars, which I can't and prob never will be able to) So having a fun looking and fairly sporty, yet incredibly practical sedan that I can drive all year round, confidently and safely? So good. That being said, they 100% should make a manual override for AWD, and they should absolutely also allow you to option AWD in the V8s.
What’s weird about that to me is that Chrysler has had V8 sedans with AWD in the past. I’m not sure why they didn’t do it in either the charger or challenger. I have a challenger GT and I’m looking at getting a new charger GT for the space. I do love my challenger, though.
you can definitely notice the increase in production quality on the main channel. they look so professionally made, while still maintaining that youtube casualness. its worth the extra effort for sure!
@@novoice9286 just bought one. It's definitely QUICK and plenty of car. I want an srt but where I live, I wouldn't even get to use that kinda power. Honestly I think it's impressive for a v6. They're comparing to a mini van but I've never met a mini van that can do what this car can do. I paid 38k....not sure where the 50k coming from that they mention. I love mine 🤷♀️
An awd challenger can be specked out to 40-42 thousand CAD (leather seats, 8.4in screen, upgraded alpine stereo, sunroof). What other daily driver car can you get at that price point with Awd for winter. You can choose between the WRX, Mazda 3 awd, audi a4, bmw 3-4 series base models only and 2-3 years used. All of these have 2L turbo engines That 3.6 sounds great with the factory open air intake that dodge sells And this car runs 5.6 to 5.8 0-60 times which James would agree is plenty fast since he owns a miata
I have a challenger GT AWD and it’s a great car. I needed the AWD and I love the look. I am looking at getting a charger GT AWD right now since I drive for work and the extra space would be helpful.
@@vipeboy2003 Apparently it's because the Hemi's are too big to fit the transfer case inside . They should just offer it with a fulltime AWD config and then they wouldn't need to worry.
@@jordancameron2482 The hemis are too big for the Chargers and Challengers to fit the AWD right? Because the Hellcat Durango is AWD as is the Trackhawk.
"Just want to drive a car without my tits bouncing!" - this. THIS is comedic gold. And what my dad said when I first lowered my MR2 lo those many years ago. LOL
I rode in a friend’s MR2 back in the day (the mini Ferrari version) and the one thing I remember the most was how bouncy it felt, like there was no suspension at all, like a go cart. 🤣. Still a cool car though.
I had one for a couple years. Reason being is it is a fantastic all year car when you live in areas that get snow. Is it the fastest thing ever? No. I got a best time of 6 seconds flat on the built-in 0-60 timer. But you don't need 485 or 700hp to have a good time and get into speeds that would get you arrested. Hell I can do that with 155hp I have now. No, this car was cool because it was a great cruiser with decent fuel economy, great looks, and the ability to get out of a parking lot in winter. And do AWD donuts in the same parking lot before leaving, if you wanted. Everyone complaining that they should've put the AWD in the Hellcat doesn't understand how expensive that system would be to handle all that torque. Just enjoy the GT for what it is, or buy an RT and snow tires and hope you can keep it pointed in the right direction.
I've owned this exact car in White Knuckle for over a year. For those of us who deal with treacherous winters it is a blast. I can not tell you how many people think its the real deal. Lots of comments and questions from people. They love the look and have no clue its a V6. Having said that I would trade it for a Hellcat with AWD in a heart beat. I do plan on putting on a new exhaust soon but it serves the purpose of putting a smile on my face every day. Oh and I only paid $31k USD.
It's all about the smiles per mile. I have a Stinger AWD, Prairies Canada, it's a Kia and fun as hell in the winter and summer. Is it the fanciest car out there? Not by a long shot, but makes me happy, and that's what's important. Funny though, My car sounds like a Camry, but I'll never change it, it's pure stealth, so don't rush to change the exhaust.
Also have a Challenger GT white knuckle with the black top package. I paid $31,000 in February. To be honest people tell me nice car all the time. We live in Illinois. People are always asking me my opinion on the awd. I tell them it's the only practical muscle/pony car in the winter
@@Moparornocar1989 We have the same car. I had the factory single stripe put on the sides by a local shop. Looks awesome. I’ve been looking at Hellcat replica rims this weekend. Hoping to buy them this week.
I own a dodge challenger all-wheel-drive. Had it for two years so far put aggressive winter tires on it for when I do drive in winter I also put one sand bag in the back to slightly help with a little bit of the traction in the backend. But the most important thing to get for the v6 is ripp supercharger which will bump you up to 400 wheel horsepower and over 360 torque which makes the car a lot more fun.
I bought my second Challenger AWD last month. Went from a 2018 to a 2021. ONLY because factory warranty expired at 60k. Never had any issues with the 2018. Absolutely love the car. It is big.....and comfortable. I drove in Upper and Lower Michigan snow in the early 80's. In all RWD cars. 81 Capri, 72 Nova, 71 Cutlass, 84 Fiero (yes a mistake but I bought it NEW in 84.) Bottom line - it's a highly capable AWD vehicle that gets 27-28 MPG. I don't have to pick up front or rear end of my car if it went in the ditch (and yes I did) because it helps me STAY OUT of the ditch. Also, I'd rather not pay RT or Hellcat premiums for insurance. I'd seriously consider a HEMI in AWD, but it's not there in Challenger. Don't want an older Charger w/ AWD, and I've owned lots of 5.7 HEMI vehicles - 04 Durango (w/AWD-4WD), 14 RAM 2WD (absolute BS in snow), 06 RAM 1500 4x$. and a 2021 RAM 1500 Bighorn.
Damnit guys...I was allllll set on getting a GT AWD and was ok with the V6 until you made the minivan comparison and now it's all I can hear. And now I'm looking at the RT instead. Well played.
I have the SXT AWD. Plenty of power in AWD, rear real is pretty weak but I had it this winter and I was out performing pickups and and 18 wheelers. Actually saw a few challengers stuck in the snow.
@@BigShean my ‘15 audi TDI has only a stage 1 tune and outperforms v6 challengers. Mind you my car stock only makes 150hp, after tune 200hp, so the v6 challenger still makes 100 more hp and loses to a low revving lazy diesel lol anything below the 6.4 is useless unless u just want the look. The 5.7 can handle boost so I’ll say that if u wanna boost a base hemi then yea it can be KINDA fast lol
Yeah nick get a manual V8, its sure fun....may not be AWD but with good winters, you will still do good in the winter and it will be waaaay more fun than the minivan V6 and you can have a manual
My wife just purchased a 2021 Charger AWD GT with the 8 speed auto for $38,660.00 with shipping and everything included, including the Blacktop option. Wife loves the car while I prefer my Challenger SRT.
Had one, a 2020 in Sinamin Stick. There's a lot of fun to be had in this car. It's loads of fun in the snow watching peoples faces as your car is actually better than theirs, and it looks like yours should still be in the garage. I can't count how many times someone came up to me at a gas station during snow storms and asked if I was insane, only to show them the 4 badge on the right side of the spoiler (for MASSIVE downforce) and explain that my car is way safer than their civic. Then, on drag strip day, I'd bring it instead of the corvette. Why? Because it's a bracket racing champion. While slow, there's NOTHING i've brought to the drag strip that put more consistent times down. 15.24 all night. Hell, I won three events in a row in 2022. My competitors put a bounty of 300 bucks on me the 4th week because they were tired of me winning. I'm an average to mediocre drag racer, and it made me a legitimate threat for the track championship. If you're there for the thrill of speed, it aint for you. If you're there to collect trophy's, then its a dream. Since it was my daily, I traded it in for a 2023 GMC canyon that's since already been traded in since that truck is a massive let down, and I miss my old Challenger every damned day. Not for the speed, mind you, but the utility, the fun i had sliding around in the snow in 100% controllable ways, and the 4 trophy's I collected in one summer at the drag strip. Maybe I'm the one guy they had in mind when they built it, but I loved that car.
I just picked up my 2021 challenger GT yesterday, it may not be a V8 but if you drive in the ‘manual’ mode and downshift and floor it you can have some fun, I’m only 17 and it’s a great first car, very fun without being insane, also it’s not “shouting” GT bc that’s the blackout package
Bro seriously same here, I just got a Challenger GT 2021 3 days ago. I've been having nothing but fun and enjoyment out of it. great suspension for a coupe, insane amount of room which is pretty important for me since I'm 6'4. It also has pretty great tech as well as it is a god damn AWD Challenger, so pretty damn super for Canadian winters here.
was shopping for a white v8 in january '20 in good nick right before covid happened and a GT just so happened to roll into the dealer before I left... one day later I bought that GT and have been happy with it ever since. it doesn't have the pure ridiculous power of the v8 that i was looking for, but she's just been a reliable, fun, loud (with help from borla) monster joy of a car. I adore it.
"We've actually upped the production on the main channel. We hope you've noticed. It's killing us." I think most people have. What we're going to notice more is if one or both of you drops dead and Carston has to Weekend At Bernie's you through the episodes. Take care of yourselves. You're doing great.
You guys should review the 5.7L R/T. It might be "entry level V8", but it is definitely a punchy engine and a ton of fun to drive. Scat Packs are fun, but R/Ts are nothing to sneeze at.
@@anthonyprieto1495 I guarantee you he had his MDS on. Because I have beaten plenty of Mustang Eco Boosts in my 2017 Challenger RT+P. Now, my car isn't stock either...it's been mildly upgraded with Borla exhaust cat-back, Demon Chip Tuned, and a much better Dodge cold air intake. I'm getting around 430hp.
Don't understand why people stick their noses up at V-6 Challengers. Back in the eighties I owned a 1980 Corvette and a 1988 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z. Neither cars had anywhere near 300 HP and both were V-8's. The Pentastar V-6 has 305 HP and gets great milage. Inown a 2019 Challenger GT in Go Mango. Previously I owned a 2016 Challenger Scat Pack in Plum Crazy Purple. I had so msny issues with that car I ended up selling it and getting the GT. With gas prices spiking I'm gladI got rid of the 392 V-8, and by the way it only took high test which is close to six dollars a gallon in Chicago. And my Scat Pack got a measly 9-10 mpg in the city. I'm seeing alot of (overpriced) Scat Packs on the Carmax website more so than in the past. Definately not a car to own these days.
got myself a granite one yesterday. my first new car and guys, this car is beautiful. 100% happy i dont need an rt, scatpack, and sure as hell dont need a demon or hellcat edit: after riding in a Demon...i have been spoiled and want more. getting a hellcat within the next 2-3 years😂
The amount of effort you guys put into the production on the main channel is obvious. Better than TV. You guys and The Unbending Conduits are the top Independent reviewers on the planet IMO. Doing Southern Ontario proud!
I like the Pentastar. It's a good engine (mostly). I also kind of prefer the Chargers with the V-6 over the Hemi's. The Hemi is a boat anchor and you can feel every ounce of that cast iron block over the front wheels when you drive one. That being said: the Challenger is already such a compromised body shape and inefficient use of the platform that you might as well go full stupid and get, at least, the 5.7. Signed, A Chrysler Tech
I have a 2017 Challenger GT AWD, it has made it through four South Dakota winters like a champ. True, it does not have the biggest of engines but if it DID have the bigger engine my insurance rates would be through the roof. My "little" GT has more than enough get up and go to keep me happy for now. For anybody complaining about lack of ability to disable the AWD system you can buy a Tazer from Zautomotive that adds that functionality (and more) for about $300. Some have even installed the Ripp supercharger ($6K) to bump the stock 305 HP up to 480 HP, add a CAI and catback Borla Atak exhaust and you have yourself a pocket rocket on the "cheap" compared to buying from the factory.
The badge is black because this car is equipped with the blacktop package. Not because their not sbouty about it lol. Badging, wheels, grille, spoiler, cluster trim rings, fuel cap are all black with this package.
You guys always make my day, seriously. Thanks for not only the truly amazing and high quality content, but thanks for being good people, as cheesy as that sounds!
I have a 2019 AWD Challenger GT. I put on a few simple modifications such as an improved exhaust system and a cold air intake. Downed my 0-60 from the base 6.3 seconds to 5.7 seconds. Also sounds a lot meaner too. I live in Michigan and can drive it with no issues through a snow storm.
The Magnum/Charger/300 had the V8 with AWD and uses the same unibody underpinnings. It was actually sales that killed it off and not packaging. On top of this the system was originally rated to only around 400 torque (Base 5.7 power levels) so that means it would not survive anything with more power. The current system actually carries a lower rating. (but is a bit lighter)
Yes. This is true. 330lbft. Which is why the 3.6L is in it. It still performs well. You just shouldn't expect stupid amounts of useless power like the Hellcat. I love mine.
Snobs. These two "experts" seem to miss the point of having a Challenger that you can drive all year round. I live in the north east. I have a Challenger T/A 392. Before the first snowfall, it's placed in my garage in a Car Capsule waiting for late spring to come out again. My wife's G/T is enjoyed all year round. By the way, as others have commented, it's a great car. She loves it.
That Pentastar V6 is actually a beast! I love that Dodge has kept it oldschool, in the sense that it's still a push-rod motor with multi-port fuel injection. Don't get me wrong, I love all the new, proven, technology out like my K5 GT's dual injection, GDi & MPi, but these V6's are very reliable.
@@JustinPennito No. Not at all. There isn't a single pushrod in the pentastar. It's a dual overhead cam V6 that uses lifters and roller rockers to actuate the valves. Pushrod engines use a single cam located in the block and pushrods ride on the cam to push up on rockers to depress the valves. Roller tip rockers are "somewhat oldschool" and they serve to reduce friction and wear.
@@ianrochon1728 I actually did not know that. Thank you for the enlightenment. I can honestly say I learned something new & apologize if I came off as a know-it-all.
I believe it’s for 2 types of customers. People that want to use challenger all year around no matter the weather and ideal car for your kid going to collage. New, good looking but never will get you in trouble.
The V6 is still a solid package. I got mine brand new for $30k fully optioned out. I could've bought a V8 but didn't want to pay the extra costs that come with it like higher dmv registration fees every year, monthly payment, insurance, and gas would almost double compared to my sxt. It has the perfect balance of power and fuel efficiency. The style is incredible and is faster than 90% of the cars on the highway.
Faster then 90% of cars on the highway? Bruh it’s slow as hell. A civic si can take out a V6 challenger easy. It’s a slow heavy car. Style is meh unless it’s a scat pack or above. Interior meh too. Not sure what you’re on about honestly
@@TheMildGamer12 I get going 80mph on the freeway in less than 7 seconds. It's fast enough for me as a daily. I came from a 180hp SUV that weighed 4000lbs

I drove a rental 1st Gen charger with the 2.7...if you want to see slow. But it was all gray with gray wheels. People just moved out of my way on the highway thinking I was an unmarked cop
For the record, the R/T IS a HEMI. The 5.7L HEMI. And there ain't shit wrong with a challengerwith a v6. And 305 horsepower is more than even a big mopar 383 made back in the day. It's actually more horsepower than most v8s back in the muscle car era. I myself plan to do the insane and put an ecodiesel v6 in the challenger I found on Copart. Why? Same horsepower output as a 318 V8 (5.2L) and 485 LB/FT of torque. Which means in short, I'm making a diesel sleeper. Torque is what launches you off the line, don't need stupid horsepower to be fast. Just a diesel lmfao
So coming from experience in both a SXT and a RT the only real difference is the sound. The feel of the pants acceleration is not that noticeable. Also you do get way better gas mileage on the V6, 28 on average vs 20ish. I will say the sound makes a world of difference and that alone is worth any price difference. Now if you can get/afford a Scat that is the absolute way to go.
If they had the 495hp engine in awd, THAT is the car I would have bought above basically ANYTHING else. Upon learning they don't make that, I ended up spending less and getting a Veloster N. The Challenger GT Awd does 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. The Veloster N does it in 4.8. I am extremely happy with the N. It is an absolute goon car. In eco mode, it feels like a 2005 civic. In N mode, it feels like a straight up racecar. The steering is crazy heavy. The suspension is as stiff as a go kart. The exhaust is loud as SH**. The engine revs high and it shifts so hard and fast that the shifts slam you back in the seat. The NGS button is hilarious. It doesn't add too much power, but the way it immediately shifts the car to the power band and makes the throttle very sensitive makes it feel like a significant boost. It has launch control, which is fun, but it burns out a lot and skitters a bit. A launch just flooring it might be better. It makes my old 05' WRX seem like floaty Cadillac with how sharp the N handles. It is also WAY faster than the WRX despite having the same horsepower rating. I can't get over how much grip it has in dry conditions. I have hit a turn on a track that had a similar shape to a fairly sharp off-ramp on a highway. about a 50 degree angle with wide and smooth tarmac. I hit it at around 80mph, as it is a pretty heavy turn. To be clear, my old wrx could MAYBE do 50 ish. One warning to anyone who has this car, though. Do NOT put extra wide tires on the back. This car is so light that it can hydroplane easily with wider racy tires. Many people have sent their N into the rails by going too fast in the rain after a swap.
If I'm honest iv been looking at buying one of these in the future. I live in Alberta, Canada and the winters here are rough. I have a v6 muatang right now and it's drivable in the winter but I never feel 100% safe in it. So for what it is I'm very interested in this thing just for the all wheel drive aspect of it alone.

The thing about this is you can enjoy it when you’re young without destroying your insurance. The manual v8 is cheaper but be prepared to pay 50-100 dollars for a month for insurance

Not only that but if it's the "compromise engine" then why is it the only one offered with the manual and not the turbo four? I rest my case
The challenger GT is why I don't feel bad about getting a Grand Cherokee Limited X. It's about the same price when similarly equipped and does not make you look like a fool.
We had that pentastar engine in a Ram pickup at work. POS if there ever was one of an engine, that was in the shop for about a quarter of it's life.(Our work vehicle averages 1000,000km a year of driving, so we're turning over trucks every 3 years or so) It was a dog in that standard cab truck which probably weighed as much if not less than this all wheel drive Challenger. But to be fair in my bias, my family history of Chrysler product ownership as a kid was just one POS after another. So much so that I've only owned Japanese brands and every Chrysler product I've driven and it's quality has just reminded me why I never even consider one for any personal vehicle purchase. Our current work truck is a Ram, but the reason it's been solid is because the drivetrain isn't Chrysler; Cummins diesel with an ASIN transmission. So far at 155,000kms and still no issues, vs that pentastar POS that at that point had had it's head off 3 times by that point!

I own a 2018 Dodge Challenger GT AWD. I've upgraded to a K&N CAI, 78mm BBK throttle body, RIPP High Performance Coil Packs, NGK V-Power Spark Plugs, Borla ATAK exhaust. I also popped in a SCORCHER GT Power Module and lastly a Dodge Performance Premium Chip. My 0-60 is 5.5 seconds and I have AWD. Case closed.
I drove a Challenger GT for a week. I have a Town and Country with the same engine, and the van almost felt faster than the Challenger. That being said, I really want a V8 one now. The car itself made me smile every single time I turned to look at it, and that is what I want on my daily driver

Just a minor point, my co worker is in his 40's and has very few tickets and no accidents. A challenger GT is $300 CHEAPER a month than a Challenger 392..... That's $3600 a year savings. They also make a bolt on Pro-Charger kit that can boost the V6 to near 500 hp.

I drive a prius currently. Rented a Challenger GT and have to say the hate is unwarranted considering the price. It won't break records but its got healthy power, reasonable gas mileage, and looks badass. It does what it sets out to do well.
That makes a lot of sense. Have so much fun.
I drive a 17 Prius and considering a Challenger GT as well. I drove one and loved it too. The only thing that sucked was parking it in the small parking spots at the dealer. However the speed, comfort, and features were A1. Im in between the Chally and the Eco Mustang.

I have questions

Bottom line - it's a highly capable AWD vehicle that gets 27-28 MPG.
The Hemi is a boat anchor and you can feel every ounce of that cast iron block over the front wheels when you drive one. That being said: the Challenger is already such a compromised body shape and inefficient use of the platform that you might as well go full stupid and get, at least, the 5.7.
Signed,
A Chrysler Tech
I went from a 3.6 to an R/T and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Them saying an engine changes a car is an understatement!
Thank you for the positive review, i have booked a gt 2021 . Because i have been dreaming about this car since when i was 15 .
I love how if you see a car review in this channel. It means they don’t like it 😂
The badge is black because this car is equipped with the blacktop package.
How much did that run?
She loves it.
yup
That Pentastar V6 is actually a beast! I love that Dodge has kept it oldschool, in the sense that it's still a push-rod motor with multi-port fuel injection. Don't get me wrong, I love all the new, proven, technology out like my K5 GT's dual injection, GDi & MPi, but these V6's are very reliable.
No sir, its a dual over cam v6 not a push rod v6
@@Darylrb1983 .....it's still a pushrod motor. Dual overhead cam has nothing to do with that.
@@JustinPennitoowned
I picked up a 2022 version of it all black 😎
same, triple black. Love it.
I think he was about to say that the key to happiness is to save up just a little bit more, and buy a Challenger with a Hemi.
I got the Challenger GT because my wife and I were looking for a crossover and she saw the Challenger and said "oh a two door crossover".
Originally Dodge made an AWD drive option for the RT but they weren't making any money from it so they added the AWD option to the V6
Supercharge it, widebody it and coilover it badass winter car.
What is the key to happiness James?!
JAMES?
JAAAAAAAMES
In America we had a V8 AWD Charger in the last gen, but only cops can get it in the current gen. But the challenger still looks much much better. Thanks for the awesome content on both channels guys. I’m even trying to watch all the older ones with cars I don’t like because you two are so entertaining. It’s like OG Top Gear where many of the cars are super cool but we watch them all because the hosts just click so well. Love you guys and your crew. Keep up the great work.
I drove a rental 1st Gen charger with the 2.7...if you want to see slow. But it was all gray with gray wheels. People just moved out of my way on the highway thinking I was an unmarked cop
Did they move back infront once they realized you're not fast enough to pass
Got 29-30 mpg in my sxt but that’s on cruise control at 70 driving 50 miles to work and back all highway.
Bullshit...I had both n the difference is there....
Did Thomas drop a little gas at 1:38?
Now that's the benign "And I'm James" we all know and love. James was off in the last video, practically jumping out of place to blurt it out 😆
If they had the 495hp engine in awd, THAT is the car I would have bought above basically ANYTHING else.
I love in Alberta too in Calgary. I've had my challenger sxt AWD for a year now....it's a beast in snow
@@LamontBoucherville oh damn dude, nice! I didn't know you could get AWD on an sxt, did you get it from a dealer or did you get it optioned from the factory?
@@Arseni118 from 2019 you could get the SXT in AWD
...I got it from varsity Chrysler in Calgary used it had 51000 kms when I bought last year it now has 86000 kms..I have a video of it on my channel
I did a resonator and middle delete on it and put fat tires on it
@@LamontBoucherville oh man thats great! I'm sure fatter tires help a lot.
When I finally ready to part with the Mustang, an AWD Challenger is definitely near the top of my list for next car.
Dodge didn’t give the AWD challenger a V8 because no one bought the awd charger which had the 5.7hemi. 2014 was the last year they offered the option
Now I'm just trying to picture James living in Texas. I'm assuming he lived in Austin, not Dallas.
I may be an outlier, but the Challenger V6 AWD is just cooler than even a hellcat to me. This is the type of muscle car a smart man who will use it as a daily driver wants. Especially on the east coast where it snows/rains enough that RWD is just not good enough for daily driver.
The AWD Challenger is awesome and rides approx 1" higher thanks to the taller tires
The thing about this is you can enjoy it when you’re young without destroying your insurance. The manual v8 is cheaper but be prepared to pay 50-100 dollars for a month for insurance
This engine is a really good one. You forget that this engine is so flexible for anything from two pickup trucks, two minivans, two large family sedans, this plush GT car, and a certain off-roader. It also sounds really good with a straight-pipe (my own Rubicon)
Why, just get an actual challenger
@@johnmoore9588 We live in Pennsylvania and this guy needs AWD because he lives in the mountains. And he's very practical when it comes to gasoline consumption lol
It's a massive compromise engine. It's not good at anything, just satisfactory. Why it's only the base engine in a Jeep, you have to pay extra for anything else.
@@MrLlama-rc8nj awd is a scam, as Thomas has said over and over you just need an LSD and good winter tyres. And if you want good fuel economy, get a prius
@@JoshuaTootell You must not have ever driven a 2012+ Jeep off road because the low end torque made from that engine in 4LO is astounding, even in base Wrangler gearing and not the Rubicon Recon gearing in ours. It literally crawls at six or seven mph with no throttle input and can climb simple 20° angles at 1500rpm. Not only that but if it's the "compromise engine" then why is it the only one offered with the manual and not the turbo four? I rest my case
definitely noticing the higher production on your main channel and I love it
pleaaaase review the dodge challenger r/t, i’m probably gonna get one soon and i wanna hear your thoughts on it
The challenger GT is why I don't feel bad about getting a Grand Cherokee Limited X.
Then the pentastar probably wasn't taken care of then. That's a pretty solid motor as the general consensus
This s a perfect use of the second channel, the endings always make me laugh!
I hate your channel.... because I can't get enough of it and I wish there was content every day ...just the best content related to cars on TH-cam hands down!
Used to be able to choose drive modes in the older ones
I would be super happy to have a V6 sxt challenger
My favorite car reviewer quote ever thanks to Extra Throttle House: "So much of this car is just on the outside!" Which is both hilarious and accurate for many "sporty" cars these days.
That ending... I always wanted to know that. What a shame. :)
I really need someone to review the charger Challenger RT with the 5.7.....great video as always
I got this model for the AWD. Hard to not have it in buffalo lol
the AWD charger is amazing in the snow so i’m sure the challenger would be similar as well
It truly is. I’ve been in a AWD Charger for 3 years now and live in a very snowy city. A dream to drive in the winter.
I drove a Challenger GT for a week. I have a Town and Country with the same engine, and the van almost felt faster than the Challenger. That being said, I really want a V8 one now. The car itself made me smile every single time I turned to look at it, and that is what I want on my daily driver
Seems like this car really suits James
I will fight you on the beaches

Don't let this review deter you....this GT is awesome for many reasons. If I could afford more car, I'd go scat pack tho but they're almost 20k more than I paid for my GT. But this model is perfect for where I live and easy on the budget. And gas.
Can we please get a video on your new old Mercedes??
2 weeks ago I bought a ZL1 and then last week I was in Hawaii with a rental 4 cylinder convertible camaro. I think I know what feeling your talking about.
RT is the “base” model you should have reviewed
there are already TONS of R/T reviews
@@CarsOfPennsylvania by these guys though? I've only recently been watching them but I haven't seen anything about the R/T. Pretty much every other option though I've seen.
I love my 300s AWD she may be a big girl but its perfect to me and she will go pretty much anywhere I ask her
Dodge says it's a packaging issue to put the V8 in this.
Funny thing is the GT and the Hemi only have around a second time difference for the 0-60. The height of the vehicle looks bigger because it has been lifted for snowy conditions.
“Challenger on training wheels” best way to put it lol
Just a minor point, my co worker is in his 40's and has very few tickets and no accidents. A challenger GT is $300 CHEAPER a month than a Challenger 392..... That's $3600 a year savings. They also make a bolt on Pro-Charger kit that can boost the V6 to near 500 hp.
