- In today's episode of "Why make it easy if it could be hard" I play as the secret character Marrabbio, who got introduced in the latest Vampire Survivors update. With his -110% Projectile Speed (90% after power ups), there are some fun and hilarious things possible. To add to this, I go for the first projectile weapon that shows up and go for max Curse (190%)

I definitely agree with you about the golden eggs. Don't get me wrong i love that they have been added, it was a really fun and interesting addition that should stay, but we do need an option to toggle them off for when you just want to play with the standard status.
Yeah, or perhaps a slider for the amount of golden eggs active so if you only want 5 or 10 golden eggs and not 200 then that’s possible
I think the Shop has value for helping to sculpt builds for videos like this, like if you want to make a video showing "Ultimate projectile build, this is what it looks like if you have all these weapons." Great worth.
I think another thing to talk about in response to you talking about people saying "Oh you can mod it, what's the problem?" I mess around with amateur game development and fan games and people often design things going "Oh man the people who make them officially are so stupid, you know you can make it so much more complex/harder/whatever." And the simple answer is they don't look at their game as a product in a store, they aren't thinking "Well if this was sitting on a shelf, and someone with no experience was picking it up, what then?"
And even if a person didn't want to select their arcana because of making videos but simply wanted to experience a fun, curated run, the answer "Oh just mod it" isn't acceptable.

Hey Dex do you think it would be possible to have a challenge where you always pick the first item offered on the level up regardless of what it is and how many runs it would take until you win the round (complete RNG based and no eggs to boost stats). Love the content.
He's done challenges where he always picks the second option no matter what. He chose the second option because the first is very commonly an upgrade for an item you already have.

I'm always impressed with how close you come to death and pull through. Holy wand getting the most damage was very unexpected. I'm happy to see it getting the spotlight for a change as it used to be one of my most used weapons.
How about a 'freezing death' build? Use Gallo, take the 'frozen enemies explode' arcana to deal damage with clock lancet, then pick the arcana where wand and rune tracer can freeze things too.
The cart would be hillarious with Marrabio
I agree with the point of increased control over mechanics - being able to do exactly what you want sometimes brings you more fun than the randomness. Talking about eggs - I'd make it possible to have control over what stats are affected by eggs, like a couple of switches you flick before starting the run. Then again, that's what I'd do, and for the sake of balance we'd probably have fun with a normal egg switch mechanic.
Great run as always, speaking facts may help us all in the long run, so thanks for that too.

You could always try to do a challenge where you don't take any passive items. I did it with Leda lately (I modded in banishes for him just so I don't have to stop leveling). Green acres worked first try, bone zone worked after I increased my movement speed to -8% with golden eggs because I kept getting caught by the stalker otherwise
The bouncy wand can be surprisingly good. I find it's frequently a top performer, and remains useful from the beginning all the way to the end. It's usually not the best at anything, but it's pretty good, comfy, and pairs with the best passive item... so I find it's almost never a bad choice.
I love this build on Marribbo, the issue is avoiding the guardians and eggs, because they can ruin the fun of this character.
Usually I take the Red gun, instead of the blue gun and replace Runetracer with Axe, Axe is worthless if you don't evolve it though. Combined with the 2 bounce arcana and Heart of Fire, it is so much fun to play. I don't play with anywhere near as much curse as Dex does, but my goodness, it is to fun to see a screen full of projectiles.

I got 3000 golden eggs on Poe. Those eggs can really make a character over powered after a while.
100% agree with golden eggs toggle, I've just been editing them out after every run I accidentally grab one from the rings/arrows bosses and it's been a pain.
holy wand with freeze and freezing explosions is just so good these days, add in bouncing and honestly I bet it'd give hellfire with explosions a run for its money due to the sheer rate of fire
I think no arcana and no picking up weapons off the floor run would be really good challenge
The best weapon with slow projectile speed is death spiral. Almost entire screen is covered with overlapping scythes.
I grinded 4M gold over the weekend, and I plan to spam eggs on Toastie, but not until they put in a toggle. It seems to be the most requested feature right now, so I'm sure it'll happen eventually if not in the next update.
I completely understand what you mean with the reaper kills, I grinded like 5 hours to kill my first reaper with Leda, and after the update I killed the reaper on my first run where I was only going for unlocking the new upgrades for Clock lancet and Laurel. It's the end of an era, but it was fun while it lasted.
And then there are people like me that did 2 runs a day to try and do it since mid February that never succeded and are happy there is finaly a reliable method that always succeds without taking 15hr runs
Not sure why but once a weapon's damage exceeds 999m it goes to 1G. Infinite Corridor is a beast.

I did the opposite of this recently. Only weapons that don't care about speed. Lightning ring, garlic, mana, stuff like that. Worked out well.
rune tracer is really bad since it stays on screen based on duration
Leda super freeze build has been my vibe lately but I keep accidentally getting eggs :/
We have an option to turn off all of our stats, by refunding the powers, that we should be able to do something similar with the Golden eggs.

Every projektile has a next hit delay or can only hit once an enemie, thats the reason for your DPS issues.

I love the shop BECAUSE it allows you to buy Bone,.. Seriously why the heck are Bone/CherryBomb/Minecart/Flowers so incredibly rare? it's literally on a scale of 1 being the rarest and 100 being the most common, they are all 1.
Also atleast the shop isn't selling the Tiragisú and Skull o' Maniac, or the guns and birds,.. it's just the weapons that before the shop you almost NEVER got them even after multiple runs back to back!

Well... There are some game (at least one i know of) that support modding and basically then they see some mods that practically everyone use they implement it in the base game usually some QoL mods and some "missing" stuff. But well... not every game dev listen to players...
i tried about 20 times to kill the reaper and failed... is there a new/better method than clarisi in the corner? i prob just need more upgrades

The next challenge to figure out will be how to kill the white/silver reaper 😹

The only streamer who made it fun to watch a reaper kill pre-patch was asmongold since he made an entire performance arc out of it, otherwise its just kinda numb
You said its very easy to kill the reaper now, but im still to bad to kill him. Btw I killed the Green Reaper 5 times now, but I didnt got toastie. And yes I know you have to click enter and down, but now he isnt showing up a single time. So I have a question: can he also appear on hurry mode and is the chance scaled with luck?
Yes he does appear in hurry mode, yes his chance scales down with higher luck.
Luck is actually bad for getting him, it reduces the chance that he appears.
You need Exdash unlocked to get Toastie.
And the Reaper kill is insanely easy now, I recommend my video about Reaper Killing that was uploaded recently, with the Clock Lancet evolution

Re, Reaper killing.
I think it still has a place, not for the purpose of killing the reaper, but for the purpose of farming Eggs.
I'd love to see what strat you could come up with to optimize the amount of eggs you get vs how long* it takes.
* Last night I did get a survivable build, but after 4 hours of of tickling them with the worse weapons choice, I gave up. ;) (I kind of got there by accident)
None really, they dont drop eggs if Corridor wasn't applied to them

Nah,, Only Reapers spawned after the evolve will drop eggs.
I tested it today. All of them die at one, but only one dropped eggs. Oh well.
@@lordsqueak They need to be struck by Corridor to drop them, so if you could kill them simultaneously, then it might work, but thats a very big might. Reason is how games/computers that dont run on multi-threats process all step by step, and the first step of whatever reaper calls the function will wipe out all the others. Even on multi-threading they'd need to run to the millisecond down (or I guess even less?) at the same time to get multi egg drops. But even if that could work, getting there is the actual hard part. Since you kinda cant deal damage to them (due to 30 second spawn difference) but also need enough XP to max out Rings + Clock lancet + evolve and also somehow survive forever *without* dealing damage

Bullets dont disappear after a while, they are permanent. I have no passive weapon that is worse than Spellbinder, so I wouldnt take it
why you _avoid_ or try not-to-take golden eggs lol ... some pay 10000 coins for one ^_^ those ring and arrow bosses drops each so 4 golden egg each run ... i would take all ^_^
Because for most chars I want them as they are, then I always have to edit them out. I got more than enough on chars I want them ^^
