The Anycubic Photon Ultra I´m using in the video is making its worldwide debut on the crowdfunding website "Kickstarter" on September 15th, where it will be available at just $399 for the first 100 backers and $499 for normal price. After Kickstarter, Photon Ultra’s price on Amazon will be over $599.
3D printing using resin printers has been a game changer for people in the model railroad hobby, it has enabled us to create and 3D print unique items that bring new levels of life onto our layouts. If there’s one tool I couldn’t do without, it would be the 3D printer… I mean you can even print your own tools as well 😮
The Anycubic Photon Ultra is a great printer and I will be using it a lot in the future as I continue to make dioramas and detailed model scenes.

This video was sponsored by Anycubic, they sent me this pre production printer to use and test, so far I’m very happy with the results and I’ve been able to print some awesome models with very fine detail, perfect for model railroads and dioramas. If you want to get your hands on one of these as soon as they get released you can order one from the kickstarter campaign here:

I'd recommend using a little less of the brown-coloured grass myself, as it looks a bit like it's been through a rough, unseasonably-hot & dry summer, drying out the normally very green grass, otherwise it looks amazing, the outdoor shots make it look very real... :)

Luke, not sure if you have contact with Anycubic/Texas instruments. For me that, I would like to see the printer built into an Any Cubic metal shell with the flip up lid. I'm space limited as well as having vertical clearance issues in my space. (Do to low cloud cover, I have a 2500' ceiling). I can not and struggle getting the dome type lids off the printer with out hitting the area above it. Next issue once I have the lid off. I need to have a place to set it down, with bench space at a premium, it is wasteful to hold up bench space just for the lid. I'm also wondering why the did not go with duel Z rails like on my Photon Mono SE. I can see the difference in layer lines compared to my Original Single Z rail Photon printer. I would also like to see lifting handles/holes add back to the sides. My Photon Mono SE does not have them, I see handles are not included on the DLP printer too. I find my self moving the printer to re open bench space. Not sure if you have tried a video short on you tube, But it would be nice to see a size comparison of the DLP to the Photon, including Build plate, vat size etc. I'm sure It would go to Eleven... If you do not understand the reference, or enjoy the video comment I posted in the other post, You probably are not a fan of the movie "This is Spinal Tap" :)

You can put the hole buildplate with the model into the Wasch Station. I always do. After it’s dry I remove it from the plate and remove the supports. No resin on the tools or resin drops splashing around while removing supports.
By the way, I bought my Anycubic photon, because i saw you used one in one of your videos already 😉
I really enjoy your videos and your work!

And you'll need a deeper baseboard to make the tunnel! A little bit more research would have helped with the scenic background. Stonehenge is on Salisbury Plain, you would have to re-locate Stonehenge to the Alps or the Pyrenees to have mountains like that

thanks mate 😉 Although TH-cam tends to overdo the amount of mid-roll ads it puts in, I've got it set to automatic but I might have to go in and remove some of them!

It's bigger than I thought. Very nice model! This really inspires me to build some diorama's myself whenever I have enough room :)

A little bit of advice for when you create dioramas set in Northern Europe: our soil colour isn't as light as that. The base colour of the soil should have been a darker brown. I love watching your videos, but the realism on this one (the actual stones are much smoother, and they're quarried from 2 different places - one local, the other in Wales, and they're not the same colour) wasn't too impressive. Sorry. :P

This is one of the simplest but also prettier dioramas on this channel.
    Well done, Luke.

I would like to see this done without a 3D printer.

Yeah, it would be quite straight forward. The stones could be carved out of foam and a scrunched up piece of foil could be used to add texture to the foam carvings... Would look great as well 😉

I've been to Stonehenge and this is a very realistic recreation, the only thing unrealistic, are the HO people in the middle. The general public can't actually go there without special permission. It's all roped off! :)
