I'll be getting my new Rav4 XSE hybrid in a few weeks. Your video is helpful. My favorites from this video are the LED lights and the knee pad. Those are must-have items. I'll have to see what type of lights my Rav4 comes with. Btw, I like your comment about the visor pouch holding CDs back in the day!
Hi just can’t get enough of your videos thank you. I do need you help on two matters. 1. What are the details of the usb charger that fits the blank in the dash board please. 2. Please note there are many differences / changes to the2023 hybrid RAV4 . I cannot get help even from Toyota in Australia. I want to access the cargolight in the rear of the cabin and no one can advise on how to remove it , to install lights on rear hatch door. Please reply Thank you again Ed.
Hi Ed, thanks for watching. To answer your questions: 1. I'm a bit confused as I don't think I mentioned anything about a usb charger that fits in any of the blank panel switches. I mentioned a wireless Carplay adapter. Perhaps you're talking about that, or maybe you meant to leave this comment on another video? 2. I'm aware that some of these changes/upgrades such as interior LED lighting, wireless carplay, etc. don't apply to newer model year Rav4's (post '21) as Toyota went ahead and made those changes as standard OEM equipment in later model years. I can tell you that in order to get to the light in the cargo area to change the bulb I had to remove the fixture with a plastic trim removal tool, which pops out the whole assembly. You can use a screwdriver too, or even a credit card, just pop it in behind one of the corners of the light until the thing pops out. I haven't done the lights-on-the-rear-hatch-door upgrade yet, but here are the links for several rather complete walkthroughs of what it is I think you're getting at: th-cam.com/video/uckafuPauB8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RAacxyOAOCLQ01_m th-cam.com/video/53hdjNpJ3O8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-DYwsa3kqLqDw15M
I totally agree about it being to dark at night in my Rav4 I bought last week. I just ordered a led light kit. I have know idea how to install them though lol! I'll have to hire someone that knows how without messing up my Rav!
They’re actually really easy to install! You just use the included pry tool to open all the lighting fixtures and switch out the original bulbs. Do a quick YT search for “changing led bulbs in rav4” and a bunch of instructional videos pop up like this one: th-cam.com/video/LzzZmdIMt04/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FdhXbNF9dDLfi_qn
If you look closely you'll notice a nonagon on my roof rack and that I'm wearing a custom gizz hoodie in the intro! hahahThanks for watching :) Check out this video of when I went to go see the band at the Madonna Inn/camped on the beach in the car down near Pismo: th-cam.com/video/MAb89HXxSRM/w-d-xo.html
yeah you are! They also make them for the driver's left knee and the passenger side of the car as well, which I forgot to mention in the video 🤦🏼♂️ needing a knee cushion makes me feel so old, but 1) that plastic is hard AF and 2) I guess I am old 🤔
Hey George, thanks for watching! My Rav is a 2020. A 2023 Rav4 is going to have LED “room lights” as Toyota calls them and door switches-they figured out that people want interior LED’s after the 2022 model year, I think. I can’t speak to their temperature or brightness though. Hope that helps!
LMAO! All jokes aside, SOLID VIDEO! it seems like Toyota took most of these upgrades and modifications into consideration, purchased my 2023 trd offroad few weeks ago now and have probably half of these already are already installed. Btw i do not plan on rolling up or smoking in the new rav4 but my stoner brain couldn’t help but comment!
Nightmare 1 when you want to lower your windows and have to turn the light on so you can see. Nightmare 2 when you want to turn the interior light on and don't see where to press cause they are also dark. Toyota you can do better.
Occasionally I update the firmware with a link from the manufacturer. Sometimes it drops bluetooth signal/has trouble connecting, but that's usually only in remote locations.
@@brendansoutdoors377 Hope you keep doing it. I also like going on trips in my car, I’ve film some trips but I just don’t feel they are ready to be uploaded haha I live in the San Francisco Bay Area
I usually prefer a warmer light temperature for my environments, but as they're not constantly on while I'm using the car like they would be in an office or a Walmart, and their main reason for existing is so that I can actually see things for the brief moments that they're on in the car, I'll take the upgrade in functionality from the factory-installed incandescent bulbs. They also make replacements in warmer colors, or in whatever color you like: amzn.to/3GzgMkb
I like the steering table. Yes it looks kinda dumb at first but it is super functional.
Yeah, at first glance it looks goofy but it's certainly handy. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Brendan I managed to install my lights in the cargo area . Thank you for your reply. Regards Ed
No problem Ed! You’ve inspired me to finally getting around to add that mod to my Rav4

What did you have in your visor/Cd player in your car?
Get a drawer knob from a hardware store and put it in the center of the center console tray. Makes lifting out the tray easy and it’s about $4
Clever idea!

Like those lights
They’re pretty sweet, thanks for watching!

хороший! Спасибо за просмотр!

Brendan hi I’d like to know what year is your RAV4? I have a 2023 do you think that has incandescent or LED lighting on the 2023 RAV4?

10:00 weed rollin tray💨💨
I mean, you could use it for any reason you might need a temporary flat surface in your car, including for rolling up your preferred herbal remedy 😆

Hey Brendan, the link to steering wheel emblem overlay doesn’t work anymore. Do you have a new link? Thank you!
Just switched that out-thanks for the heads up!

Yeah for some reason the switches in the door not being illuminated bothered me way more than the ones in the ceiling, but now that you mention it…
Have you had any problems with the wireless CarPlay adapter?
Occasionally I update the firmware with a link from the manufacturer. Sometimes it drops bluetooth signal/has trouble connecting, but that's usually only in remote locations.
Loved this video. Hope to see more road trips around northern CA
Right on, thanks for the kind words! I'll try to keep a camera rolling on more excursions as the year rolls on...
Where are you from?

Where I buy this carplay?Thanks
Is the link in the description not working?
I expected off road stuff
Most off-road stuff doesn't necessarily fit into the "easy" category of modifications and upgrades, but thanks for watching!
Sorry but I don't like lights that make me feel like I'm in Walmart or an office.
