  • Have you ever wondered if you can get your life back after infidelity or addiction? Maybe you feel, at this moment, there's no way in hell you could get your life back and you'll never make it through this awful chapter of your life? It's a normal belief that we'll never be the same again, until we meet someone who is on the other side of the awful ordeal we're going through and they give us hope. Not hope to be the same again, but hope to find new life and new meaning after monstrously difficult trauma and betrayal, while also providing tools to utilize. While the rug may have been ripped out from underneath us, or we may have even been the one who ripped the rug out from underneath our partner, life, value and meaning doesn't have to be over for the rest of our lives. Today you'll meet not only an expert but someone who has had to fight to find and embrace their new life after betrayal and lives to tell all of us about it.

Great podcast Sam. Thank you for stepping in to mention the betrayed male so we aren’t forgotten.

Entering betrayal therapy as someone who didn’t know I already had CPTSD I believed that I was going to live in this pain forever. For me it was about 18 months in that I believed our marriage would survive. Now at 21 months I know it will. After the crisis periods and now having loose guidance I have been able to use the tools learned to get to that next phase. We said the other day had we have just stayed with that first therapist it would have been long over by now. I agree that I would we would never be the people we are today had we not had the right therapist and her team/group. I’m not grateful for the affair but I am thankful for the opportunities of healing ourselves that came from it.

I have sent countless videos and resources on this and it seems to just bounce off despite the words spoken “I get it” or “I understand” or “I recognise I do that blah blah” you get the picture. But what they do following that is fundamental. If they continue to be busy with everything else, even the excuse of making money, often can be another aspect of the situation. Go by their actions and not their words. Yes they are worth healing and no they aren’t bad people BUT unless they relinquish the guilt and shame they have carried since childhood, then the reality is, they continue to make a reality that everyone is worthless. Don’t be pulled into that lie of the enemy. They have to pull themselves out, they have to want it and make it their absolute priority. Hope needs to be for you and not for them. Because it makes you sick because we have no control over it at all.

I get something from each of these episodes. However this one I watched a couple times.Tammy gets my broken heart , she brought a new hope agter 3 years of some help that made things so much worse. Samuel , Tammy … you two have comfort and validation to our( betrayed ) deep suffering.that this fragile and painful journey of betrayal delivered us.Thank you both. So thankful for you.

I’d say I’m in phase 4, which is cool I guess as I’ve done that alone.
