I have a Zastava M92 myself; excellent AK platform gun. I put a KNS adjustable piston in mine as well as the Midwest hand guard & Ultimak. Right now it has the SB brace but I’m planning to sbr it at some point.
I have the zpap92 tactical model with the quad rail and sba3 brace. I love the sba3 brace and have an extra for backup. I thought about putting a piston, but mine isn’t overgassed. It’s perfect. I was going to put a piston simply bc of less wear and tear over time, not for recoil bc I never complain about recoil. But I chose not to bc I didn’t want to trade reliability for a little less wear and tear over time. That’s the biggest flaw with the kns piston bc you lose a lot of reliability. I just paid 10 bucks and got a few blackjack recoil buffers that I put in zpap92 and my m70. They work really good too
The zastava I looked at felt better and looked better than the Arsenal I looked at. I went with the zpap, and have really been happy with it. It’s been 100% reliable and the most accurate ak I have. They are a very solid firearm.
Out of your mind. The sam7k is far superiors in build quality. FAR SUPERIOR. I own the sam7k and my buddy owns the M92, and i've sold plenty of M92's as i'm a dealer that specializes in AK's.

@Jason Newman Russell is correct, Zastava technically is not even a "real AK" or Krinkov. The Arsenal actually is based on the Krinkov but takes 7.62x39 and benefits taking the same furniture and it's a milled receiver. The Zpap 92 is decent no doubt but does not take regular AK furniture at all it uses a custom "Krinkov furniture", also Zastava has not made a milled AK for the US Market in a very long time.
The Arsenal is better, I'll admit. Is it worth 2 Zastavas? Or 3 Hell pups? No, not that good. The bulged trunnion and 1.5 stamped receiver on the M85 or M92 is RPK strength, so plenty strong enough and better than the Hellpup.

I never thought I would own an AK or AR pistol but now I do own some. The reason I own them is I own several suppressors for them. I have a mini-jack and I can shoot silver bear 7.62x39 sub sonic out of it with my Gemtech "one" on it without ear protection. It cycles 100% but just throws the empties 3 feet away. Very fun to shoot! I shoot at steel 85 yards away for the most part.

@@john.wick1, go look at the AK Files forum, any of the large AK Reddit groups or Facebook groups and you'll find plenty of reviews on how bad they can be. If you already got it, have it checked out by a gunsmith that actually knows about AKs to see if it is at least safe to fire, and if it is in spec. Sadly the days of cheap AKs that are good to go have been dead for awhile, I kick myself for not picking up a few and stacks of ammo crates when they were dirt cheap.
I love my zpap92. I have the tactical model with the quad rail and sba3 brace. I preferred paying the extra 120 bucks for this model and save headaches of having to buy parts and upgrade it myself. I always wanted the SamK pistol, but I have a Sam7sf, so I’m alright

Fuckin love my Z92. Kept everything stock so far, just upgraded to an ALG trigger, US Palm grip and CNC warrior brace. Considering the 4 piece muzzle brake, but I kinda love the massive flame it throws haha.

I have the SAM7k and has been an awesome gun. I would not have purchased it at current prices though. Got mine in 2018 for $900. My only complaint is the finish. Use anything other than breakfree clp and the black paint will come right off.
I haven't shot any sam7 but I've shot a milled AK and I guarantee you the arsenal is a pleasure to shoot. But don't sleep on the M92 just because its a stamped receiver. The NEW M92's come overbuilt as fuck. With a 1.5mm thick stamped receiver and rpk style bulged front trunnions. It might not be milled but its going to have more mass and a better recoil impulse than the standard 1.0mm thick receivers that save weight. The M92 might be the best AK pistol to buy unless you got the cash to fork over for the sam7 pistol. Arsenal is comically overbuilt and will outlast you, and is probably a bit smoother of a gun but the Zastava M92 is a quality AK STILL it might not be Arsenal smooth but its shitting all over the wasr10 or something like that in terms of fit and finish and living true to its name and legend as an AK. Both will outlast you. Bot will perform like they should. The arsenal is just a bit more bouji. Well built WASR10's will too. I don't mean to shit on Romanian AK's its just they usually are the ruff ones that give AK's the bad name they have in the AR community. Wasrs are cheap and they feel cheap but they will work. Theyre work horses. But if you want a more pleasant AK buy zastava

Got a 92 back when Century was importing them in 2012 for $650. Probably my favorite 'dumb' purchase I've made, though it's a tight race between that, my FS2000, and my 44 magnum.
The only problem that I have with the ARSENAL SAM7 is that the receiver has a painted finish instead of blued... and the finish isn't even baked on or ceramic coated to help protect it either, just basic painting. For $2,000, I would be very upset when that paint starts to crack and peel after firing more than 3 consecutive magazines through it. If it were not for the painted finish, I too would buy the Arsenal.

But I was talking to the gun smith at my gun store, and he confirmed that he could strip it and either have it blued, or cerakote it as you mentioned. The cost would be between $150 - $250 depending on which method I chose. SO, I have decided that my next one will be the ARSENAL SAM7

See idk even thought they are both ak style pistols I dont really call the sam7k a ak47 pistol because it's really a krinkov or aks74u I have the sam7k and sam7 sf and a SLR 107ur and I love both my krinkovs I had a 104ur but sold it because I didnt want another caliber I needed to stock up on and 762x39 is easier to get and it's my favorite round all three of the actions are like butter compared to any other ak I got rpk zastava zpap,opap, aes10b. To me the draco is more of an "AK pistol" in my eyes

Avoid Pioneer like the plague. You can find a ton of info on why on the /r/ak47 subreddit and akfiles. Grab a Zastava unless you can swing the Arsenal then get the SAM7K

Both are good milled weighs more, a mini draco with a 7 inch barrel is more similar in size to a sam7k with a 8inch barrel a zpap92 has a 10inch barrel
I lost my vision in my right eye and I am right handed. I have to shoot my SAM7R 16.25 inches left handed. Because the sights are closer together on the SAM7K-44 do you know if it is possible to shoot this gun right handed using my left eye to aim?
The main weight difference is the Arsenal 1mm receiver and the Zastava 1.5mm bulged trunnion, much stronger but heavier. I have an Npap underfolder 1mm receiver and Opap bulged trunnion 1.5mm. I prefer the lighter trunnion for a folder or pistol. The lighter weight makes the 1mm receiver it easier to manage in those configurations.
Arsenal is silly with thier prices. That's why zastava sells 1000s upon 1000s and arsenal does not I live in the Tampa bat area and I have two gun stores that have both. The arsenals are still on the wall. The zastavas are always on backorder and they can't keep them in stock.
The more research I do the more I’m liking the Zastava. However, it’s makes me cringe that they put the “read owners manual” into the side of the receiver . Well no shit. It’s like engraving into the side of a Lamborghini to check for cops before speeding . lol
I have absolutely NO EXPERIENCE on the AK, that said I'm going based on reviews from multiple people. Arsenal has a bit of a bad reputation (as does other big names like Sig Sauer specifically the p320 & p365 amongst other's but they are great ). Going based on reputation and reviews Zestava is probably the better choice. Again I have no experience with the AK and I'm going based on reviews..

AK builder makes a much better 4 piece flash hider. CNC looks more shiny, but it feels cheaper and the AK builders 4 piece flash can feels like you could beat someone to death with it. Its SOLID. and the finish is holding very well in Indiana humid climate.
Milled receiver hands down. You can fix and customize everything else. But not the receiver. Worth the money unless you plan to get rid of it in 5 years or 10k rounds

They look nice but never been a fan of the AK pistol. Does not really match up with my needs from a gun. Too big to conceal, too small for medium range engagement. Thanks for sharing though, they are interesting.
They’re fantastic for medium range. A 10inch AK only loses 100-200fps depending on the load when dropping from 16 inches, and the 12 inches lose like 50-100. It’s pretty close tbh.
M92 beats the SAM7K in all aspects besides rarity honestly 😂 the Arsenal is hard to put an optic on due to the stupid sight in the back, less real estate for hands / attachments due to hand guard length, price is absolutely ridiculous for an AK, it doesn’t come with a bolt hold opener, and it doesn’t have a lengthy combat record like the M92 does 😂 ppl only buy the SAM7K for cool points on Reddit and what not but the M92 is a better gun overall

Got the Z7762xr and love the thing. Heavy with the furniture but no noticeable recoil with the added weight. Thing runs perfect!

Got a 92 back when Century was importing them in 2012 for $650. Probably my favorite 'dumb' purchase I've made, though it's a tight race between that, my FS2000, and my 44 magnum.

The only problem that I have with the ARSENAL SAM7 is that the receiver has a painted finish instead of blued... and the finish isn't even baked on or ceramic coated to help protect it either, just basic painting.
For $2,000, I would be very upset when that paint starts to crack and peel after firing more than 3 consecutive magazines through it. If it were not for the painted finish, I too would buy the Arsenal.

I've already ordered the Zastava in Serbian Red. But I was talking to the gun smith at my gun store, and he confirmed that he could strip it and either have it blued, or cerakote it as you mentioned. The cost would be between $150 - $250 depending on which method I chose.

@@john.wick1 cool. Unless you plan on running thousands of rounds through it the paint should hold up for a well, I know some people that never had issues with the paint, others that have, hit or miss I guess. Have fun with your pistols. I agree tho, Arsenal should do better with their paint.

See idk even thought they are both ak style pistols I dont really call the sam7k a ak47 pistol because it's really a krinkov or aks74u I have the sam7k and sam7 sf and a SLR 107ur and I love both my krinkovs I had a 104ur but sold it because I didnt want another caliber I needed to stock up on and 762x39 is easier to get and it's my favorite round all three of the actions are like butter compared to any other ak I got rpk zastava zpap,opap, aes10b. To me the draco is more of an "AK pistol" in my eyes

* UPDATE * Not getting the Pioneer Arms rifle. I have decided on the ARSENAL SAM7, or maybe the Zastava Classic Serbian Red if I can't find the ARSENAL SAM7.
Avoid Pioneer like the plague. You can find a ton of info on why on the /r/ak47 subreddit and akfiles. Grab a Zastava unless you can swing the Arsenal then get the SAM7K

People say the same things about the S&W AR15, but I've had mine for 11 years and never a single solitary issue of any kind... granted, it's not as nice as my FN AR15, or even my Taran Tactical John Wick Ultra Light AR15, but it's still never given me an issue nonetheless.

Both are good milled weighs more, a mini draco with a 7 inch barrel is more similar in size to a sam7k with a 8inch barrel a zpap92 has a 10inch barrel

I lost my vision in my right eye and I am right handed. I have to shoot my SAM7R 16.25 inches left handed. Because the sights are closer together on the SAM7K-44 do you know if it is possible to shoot this gun right handed using my left eye to aim?

I have the SAM7k, my buddy has the M92. The SAM7k is far superior in build quality, but the M92 is still very well built for a stamped gun.

Where did you get the wood handbreak/mini dong for the Zpap?
The main weight difference is the Arsenal 1mm receiver and the Zastava 1.5mm bulged trunnion, much stronger but heavier. I have an Npap underfolder 1mm receiver and Opap bulged trunnion 1.5mm. I prefer the lighter trunnion for a folder or pistol. The lighter weight makes the 1mm receiver it easier to manage in those configurations.
Arsenal is silly with thier prices. That's why zastava sells 1000s upon 1000s and arsenal does not
I live in the Tampa bat area and I have two gun stores that have both. The arsenals are still on the wall. The zastavas are always on backorder and they can't keep them in stock.

I have absolutely NO EXPERIENCE on the AK, that said I'm going based on reviews from multiple people. Arsenal has a bit of a bad reputation (as does other big names like Sig Sauer specifically the p320 & p365 amongst other's but they are great ). Going based on reputation and reviews Zestava is probably the better choice.
Again I have no experience with the AK and I'm going based on reviews..

Ok now I'm lost. That's what I said go zpap. I may be misunderstanding something. Are you saying Zestava for best bang for your buck but Arsenal is better just you pay more for it. Help me understand the AK platform a little better please. I want to put one in my collection just I don't want the cheapest (they are cheaper for a reason) nor do I want the most expensive (usually over hyped and over priced). Mid range to me seems to be sorta the perfect balance of quality and cost.
When it comes to AR vs AK building AR's ARE NOT BUILT THEY ARE ASSEMBLED where as AK's ARE ACTUALLY BUILT. I don't really want to do a build but have thought about it. I've assembled dozens of AR rifles but I didn't attempt to do it till I was familiar with them and bought a few first. Any advice you can give me I'm all ears, I only ask that you explain your reasoning to me a little. As said before I am ignorant about AK platforms so... Yeah dumb it down for me as much as you can 😂😂. Again thank you for your patience and your help.

AK builder makes a much better 4 piece flash hider. CNC looks more shiny, but it feels cheaper and the AK builders 4 piece flash can feels like you could beat someone to death with it. Its SOLID. and the finish is holding very well in Indiana humid climate.
Milled receiver hands down. You can fix and customize everything else. But not the receiver. Worth the money unless you plan to get rid of it in 5 years or 10k rounds

They’re fantastic for medium range. A 10inch AK only loses 100-200fps depending on the load when dropping from 16 inches, and the 12 inches lose like 50-100. It’s pretty close tbh.

M92 beats the SAM7K in all aspects besides rarity honestly 😂 the Arsenal is hard to put an optic on due to the stupid sight in the back, less real estate for hands / attachments due to hand guard length, price is absolutely ridiculous for an AK, it doesn’t come with a bolt hold opener, and it doesn’t have a lengthy combat record like the M92 does 😂 ppl only buy the SAM7K for cool points on Reddit and what not but the M92 is a better gun overall
