  • In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at Zastava USA visiting with the Zastava team to discuss why AK-47 imports into the United States are absolutely terrible. Fortunately, Zastava has figured out a way to get by the hurdles presented by ridiculous U.S. laws, and the Serbian AK-47 manufacturer is glad to show the TFBTV team how they comply with the law while still producing an excellent AK, just like the AKs from the mother country.

I must admit, the fact that they're compliant with the laws, they're dealing with ATF obstacles left and right, and still making it work - speaks volumes about Serbia.

We have something related at a specific company in my town (defense industry, they mainly make things that go boom rather than bang), in a particular detail they make for SAAB they make square holes (with next to to radius in the corners) that go through the entire portion they are made on, and they do it all on a 5 axis CNC mill. @@kxkxkxkx I agree it's to protect domestic manufacturers, because that's what allot of these BS laws are really about. It's ironic though everyone loves to talk about the "free market" and competition, but then the politicians go on to rig the market and drive business away from better cheaper products. The fact is allot of these former eastern bloc countries with serious gun making experience just produce better quality AK's and for less money compared to American made alternatives right now, and the only way they can hope to compete is cheating the cost through legal red tape and bureaucracy. If American companies want to compete fair and square they need to up their game, and start producing quality guns for good prices, or they don't deserve to exist.

And I’ll tell ya, it has really added a different and better level of security that my normal hand guns didn’t and couldn’t have. So I just wanted to thank you and Colion Noire, for showing old timers like me where the hole was in my perception of home defense to now filling that space. Some problems with two 10 round magazines purchased through Zastava-USA website. My understanging is that the 10 rounders are suppose to hold open on last round, and they have stopped doing that after 100 rounds. One of the 10 rounders has a tough time going in. The supplied 20 rounder works fine. Ammo used is IWI 175 gr Open tip match. I had to change gas block setting from the factory 2 setting to 1. Ejecting cases at one o'clock and 500 feet high! Great video. Thank you Zastava!
