This is why you shouldn't consider a character content:
Imagine that every month, you could try a raffle to try and win a car. The chances are very slim, but you get the car. You look around and there are no roads for you to drive your new car. It's like an artificial world with 2 roads, and the people never add more than these already existing 2 roads that by the way are small and barely cover any distance.
This is how it feels to release that many characters while having no content to use them.
Wait, driving off-road is actually fun. Maybe this is a bad analogy because Genshin is fucking dogshit.
I can't help but consider the new characters as new content bc it's the only new and transformative content added lol

Consider this, though: The only two times you can genuinely play the game are in abyss and with the fontaine legends cuz they are damage sponges 💀 (thus, the two roads I mentioned earlier)
We need more end game content, otherwise, getting new characters means nothing.
I mean if Genshin is going strong for 4 years now then it's pretty obvious that the majority of the whales don't care about endgame. They just wanna C6 their favourite characters and one shot everything. Sorry but they don't care about the 10% of the playerbase begging them for endgame because that's not the majority, just basic buisness practices. Although i guess it's getting it's own simulated universe in 4.7 tho
If 4.7 Dainsleif quest doesn't impress the fuck out of me, I'm gonna drop Genshin. They basically spoiled the whole Arlechhino quest on that animated video so it wasn't any unexpected.
Let's be real, Natlan is gonna come and a lot of us are gonna actively play through that region the First 3 patches (like Fontaine)

Yeah, 30 gbs for an area that was no bigger than the city of mondstadt. Waste of space on my disk.
the 30 gb improve many older files and made the game weight less btw, my game lost size, also they put the new graphical option on all devices not only certain video cards or devices, patches in games dont mean the weight of the patch is going to add up fully into the game size, it replaces older files too and thats for many games, in this case it did made many things more straight foward and less cluthered in the game files, another example is the patch removing assets and voicelines of events in the now to be replaced version so there it goes like 10-15 gigs, for the people wanting events to stay theyll cry if the game is 300+gigs

The game's size actually went down in the latest update, that's pretty cool, I was worried that my phone won't be able to handle the update but the update made it easier on the phone. These are the things that deserve some appreciation, because reducing 6gb of code from this caroonishly massive mobile game (30+ gb) must've taken some work and it's gonna be useful in the long run for the game

I play HSR faithfully and I still don't understand what everyone else is doing in game. Sure I'll take a crack at the latest moc and pure fiction, but if my teams can't do it, then, they just can't do it and I logout.

@@Kirivera If my team can't do it i'll just build other characters and try untill i succeed. When i'm done with events i either prefarm, farm xp/lc materials or tune my already built characters (better relics). That's just my example tho, everyone's experience with the game is different

After 4 years of Genshin impact Miyoho still doesn't understand that the rather lively storylines and the main battle system was what got people hooked in the first place. Even though the new regions look awesome, the new characters are fun and the archon story lines are still banging, there is just almost NOTHING of this content available all year. Most of the stuff presented by Mihoyo is either time based events that for most part does not include fighting with your owns teams and the character quests are nothing but really boring wall of texts without much input of essence.
The background lore of the game is so full, the world is beautiful and there is so much potential for good and challenging fights but Mihoyo doesn't let the player get in touch with these elements and 99% of the time it ignores the golden storytelling rules "show don't tell".
We all love the core elements of the game but hate the everday gaming it has to offer which is why we all love it but hate it. Mihoyo could do so much better, the fundament has been there all the time.
After 4 years people still don't see that despite all of that, they make billions, so they have no reason to care

They should have ended the game after sumeru and worked on genshin’s sequel so it lets them improve game systems and recalibrate. I feel like they’re forcing themselves to be consistent, maybe for technical reasons or by choice to keep the game cohesive.

After you finish arlecchinos story quest, and the new symphony world quest (which I thought that one was alright ) there's literally nothing more to do, until cynos new quest drops. It's crazy
They need to bring new and innovative battle content like star rail does , I just don't know why they don't. It feels like they just update genshin out of courtesy, and honkai is their passion project

@@meiilu7799 legit sparkle was hyped in videos and posts but when she dropped there was no new content lmao it was dry for like 15 days, acheron patch was done in one day 100% and events are a 30 min thing too, the community is seriously coping with hsr being super long and having lots of content when in rerality patches are smaller, 2.1 is literally the equivalent of a genshin main story patch and has the lenght of a filler patch, is smaller than 4.6 and it feels, i been farming for ages now waiting for the next content drop because 2.1 was very small.
I still haven't finished the Chenyu Vale region yet lol. And haven't even touched Remuria. I got quite a bit to do. But Genshin isn't made for people who has insane amounts of time on their hands

The potion event was literally a copy paste of the museum event from hsr but more boring since you don't even have to leave the potion area to get the necessary items or do any sort of quests like in the museum event. Hell even albedo, the one character most known for alchemy in the entire game other than sucrose literally didn't even show up once the entire event. Instead he shows up for a stupid cat petting event for no reason like ?????

I'm going to say as much as I agree about it being very much like the Museum event, I preferred it so much to the museum event due to not having quests every 5 mins telling me that I couldn't continue moving on with the museum. It was actually so annoying.
Technically the museum event was originally a shop event in mondstadt back in 3.1
I think potion event was just fine, not too long, without boring and repetative fights(that we see in any patch), but the ending of this event was really a shitty move by hoyoverse, "this alchemy place was created so people could learn how to make potions, so we just nuke this place after event time is over, since traveler already can make potions, why would we need someone else to learn". They at least could have just left something there, or said that shop will be closing soon. Only for that, I like HSR events more, since they at least stay in the game and not magically disappear. But Museum event was unnecessary long and boring, making alchemy event a bit better.
Well to be fair, Genshin already do that kind of Mechanic in 3.1 first...
I had a blast playing this so far, it was amazing. I did not let myself get spoiled, just let it happen and it has been fun.

Also the patch REALLY is not bad at all compared to other genshin patches i would say, i have yet to explore the new area but i can say that the story quest was AMAZING, especially the ending. I have no idea what kektone was expecting from this patch but it delivered in perspective just fine.
All in all, i am so done with this toxic streamer BS where all their content literally revolves around manipulating people who are addicted to being mad into following their own toxic mind set, dont fall for this guys THIS ACTUALLY HARMS YOU AS A PERSON, all while they gain their blood money from streaming, its sickening to say the leazt.
@@MoonTurky the patch is fine, it has an area like enkanomiya in size, it has a new weekly boss plus area boss, the remaining oculus and shrines we were missing, a main patch story + character story, ironically is bigger than hsr current main story patch and yet they are saying is dry and has no content while bullshitting about hsr having a lot to do which isnt true, they love lying because their fanbases will eat anything since they dont even play the game anymore, in actual genshin dedicated spaces no one is complaining and they are talking about either the story or theories about the lore dumps people like tectone pretend doesnt exist

Actually surprised you mention HSR is more dry than genshin right now, especially considering the fact all these content creators seem to praise HSR into the heavens while constantly ripping on genshin, kinda shows that their echo chambers of followers is smaller than you think or else their cries would of had more effect. I dont even play HSR but i think this debate between which 2 games made by the same damn company of which is better is redicilous.
All in all, happy to see Genshin is still going strong and that the actual players are enjoying the ride with me. I really look forward to the future of Genshin, i do have silent hope that one day they will add a sort of endless tower mode for people with insanely strong accounts. Who knows, for me it feels like genshin is cooking, there are lots of things that can go further such as the level cap being dead at 90, the talent levels having a discription that says they can go to level 15 while the max is 13 now, the possibility of 6 star characters becoming a thing, just imagine the possibilities!

Lowkey, Genshin needs to focus more on reruns of old characters instead of making a new 5 star that nobody gives a fuck about. Chiori is such a nothing character, and other than catering to the young adults that hate working their retail job and wish they could threaten shitty customers, I don’t remember her serving any relevant or overaching purpose in the story. There was literally no reason for her to be a 5 star, fucking Charlotte has better 5 star potential. 4.5 was genuinely such a slag and the only good thing that came out of it was that I lost my 50/50 so I was guaranteed for Arlecchino
I always thought Genshin is just a button masher game. Combos? What combos? You just use ult in the right sequence, and you don't need any mechanics to learn. So, it is as turn base as HSR to be honest
HSR combat is so riveting that you can just let a bot do it for you

4.6 at least has one of if not the final area of fontaine to explore, unlike the last 2 patches where there was literally nothing. So basically all I did these last 2 patches was clear out my quest backlog for primos when the limited time potion event ended that's it.

Well, shit man. For me, since I've started the game a little more than a year ago, I'm still grinding exploration, world quest, story quest, reputations, events, material farming to build my current characters, pre farming for future units, artifact grinding, TCG, interior design, fishing, cooking, and achievement hunting.
This game has kept me more busy and hooked in a single streak than any MMO has. That's quite good for a free to play game.

When it came to Genshin, after the second part of the Furina storyline was done I kinda moved away from the game as a whole. I'd pop in once every few weeks but nothing would hold my interest. I then decided to uninstall it, vowing to myself that I'd only reinstall when Arlecchino was coming (I need hot goth mommy). Given that I had failed the 50-50 the last time I rolled (several months ago), I knew I could get her with no issue.
So now I have Arlecchino: she's great and I want her to step on me. Her story quest was alright, but the problem is that if you watched that animated video from Mihoyo you basically knew how it was all going down. There weren't any plot twists since even if you were barely paying attention during dialogue you could figure out the entire thing halfway through the quest (assuming you watched the video). Given who Arlecchino is and all, I was hoping for the quest to be rather dark and depressing. The ending to the quest was nice and bittersweet, so overall MAYBE a 6/10. If there hadn't been so many spoilers beforehand PLUS making having it be a darker storyline, then perhaps it would warrant a slightly higher score. Also, why did we barely get to interact with her during HER story quest? I don't bloody care about the rest of the House of Whatever They Were Called.
What is there to do now? Well, at least having Arlecchino gives me a goal of levelling and ascending her to the max, and then maybe farming for the talent items, so that could take up a few days given that I have to wait for the damn talent book dungeons to open...
As for the rest of the quests, on one hand because I haven't been actively going through them, I've got a shit ton of world and story quests just sitting there waiting to be finished and the fact that there is almost always so much dialogue makes me hesitate to go through them. On the other hand, if and when I get through them, at least I've got some primogems and whatnot waiting for me so that's one thing I guess...
My main gripe(s) with the game are the artifact farming and the story/dialogues. The stories can be interesting, but the fact that the dialogue is sooooo bloated and annoying at times just makes me sit there like -_- while spamming "next". The interactions are all so "Mickey Mouse" as the video puts it i.e. written for kids (at least in my opinion). Paimon talks on our behalf 90% of the time, so whenever the MC actually speaks it just feels bizarre. Sure in HSR we don't hear the MC's voice THAT often, but at least there is no one speaking on our behalf for the most part during dialogue AND you can fuck around with the dialogue choices and irritate everyone around you.
At least the hentai of the game is good...

hsr's skipping text feels so much better because (i tested it and i could see the little difference) in HSR, u can immediately skip the whole paragraph, but in genshin, i think it waits for like 30% of the paragraph to naturally load before it skips

4.6 has an ENTIRE new area full of quests and exploration. Arlecchino's story quest was just one part of it. It also has multiple events including windtrace. I get that you were disappointed by the content of Arlecchino's story quest, and that sucks, but let's not pretend it's a dry patch because one part of it didn't live up to what you wanted.

the biggest sin about chiori is how much of her functionality is hidden in her c1; she can't even team with navia, the OTHER geo character released recently unless you
1) don't use zhongli
2) have her c1
so it's a choice between perma shields to proc navia's artifact set; or whaling chiori to c1 and using the crystals for the shields for navia's artifact set.

I did started to enjoy the quest during the last part when she became more interactive. I just wish they included more of her in the beginning as well. Speaking of Envi, I've only heard about Envi from people and Tectone. I watched him some years ago and thought his videos were pretty okay. But a few days ago I finally decided to look a bit more into him and.... holy fuck. I read a Twitter book he wrote about him writing about his "trauma" and how tectone gave him PTSD for small shit like tectone asking Envi to stream at a different time than him. Small annoyances, which do not cause PTSD. I could not BELIEVE what I was reading. I got so pissed off, it's like a slap in the face of people who actually have real trauma. And then I saw a video of him having an insane panic attack over literally nothing and hyperventilating. I can get anxiety attacks at times and it's never like that...I'm sorry but that was a performance. Anyway, now I'm in the know about this dude.

Lore wise this update wasn't too bad, gameplay wise... it sucked. We learned about the previous dynasty of khanriah (crimson moon dynasty). It's sad that I mostly learn about lore through the fandom wiki, the lore of this game is INCREDIBLE but the way the dialogue is.. it's makes people completely tune out the lore. It makes me sad. :{

Did the whole Arlecchino quest in like an hour to unlock the boss. 4.6 did not save the dead patch. Not only was the boss itself kinda lackluster (maybe it's because bosses are normally big and fighting a character model is lame), but the quest to unlock it was boring. During the cutscene after the boss fight I was on the edge of my seat, thinking something was finally going to happen, but no. SPOILERS IF ANYBODY CARES:
Some random House of the Hearth NPCs broke the rules and we spent most of the quest fearing their incoming deaths as punishment, only for Arlecchino to just wipe their memory and let them go. Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet were also supposed to be punished but Arlecchino, the mommy spider-winged scythe wielding Harbinger, spared not only the playable characters (HSR knowers) but the random NPCs nobody cares about. She also captured a bird we used to spy on her (I think idk I kinda skimmed the dialogue), but I wish she killed that at least to add a bit of darker content in this kids game. So much wasted potential on yapping. All the budget of the patch went into one cutscene and probably the new area.

The boss fight itself was extremely lackluster, it literally took me 2nd try to completely solo her with a solo geo traveller. Traveller also not using any elements in cutscenes were a huge disappointment too
for me i have no problem of the boss i lowkey enjoy it but the story quest is just damn disappointing the MC didnt even put up a good fight rather than a punching bag didn't even teached arlecchino a lesson or beat her to her senses we just got disrespected for fighting dragons to gods and harbingers at this point the MC have those battle experience up by now not to mention the mastery of elements was not even used in that fight then we got mangekyo sharingan this is just pathethic no character build up was given as for arlecchino her strength and capabilites were shown spectacularly really living up to the 4th harbinger position. But the MC just really reallly insufferable and terrible im just waiting at point that the traveler he/she get choked out by Capitano to death its just disgusting

The same mc couldn’t stop a dozen of boulders from Navia’s SQ. The traveller also didn’t use any freaking elements fighting against Arlecchino. The joke that is Hydro Traveller is also sad, meanwhile in HSR the new harmony trailblazer is actually pretty good. They did genshin players so dirty with how bad they made the traveller’s kit

Because the quest in 4.6 is pain I’m at a last straw for the Dain quest. I had SO MUCH HOPE for AT LEAST ONE good update. This has been THE LONGEST Genshin has been with absolutely no updates worth my time. 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6. That’s 3 month and a half updates with absolutely nothing. I really did have hope that there would be just one of those updates that were worth… but no.
I think they wrote the 4.2 quest, which was really good, and then they burnt themselves out and lazily through false content at us for like 5 months.
Pls have a good 4.7… just one good thing and I’d be a little hopeful.

I think if content creators who play this game for hours every other day NEED filler patches to catch up to alll the new content, there's a problem.
It is VERY clear that the majority of those hours of content isn't great or even good, so there's obviously an issue with the content being way too long, slow, and padded (WITHOUT A SKIP BUTTON).
I don't want fillers every couple patches so I can spend several hours grinding my skull against the cold long pavement of empty dialogue just to get to the "good stuff" at the end of each road. I want the devs to spend way more time on LESS content so that content can be more condensed, high-quality, and most of all, *ENJOYABLE.* Maybe even more time can be put towards the *next patch* of content this way, and people who don't spend all of their free time on this game don't have to sit for hours and hours of repetitive and uninteresting content just to get the story payoffs they play this game for in the first place, because it's obviously not the combat.
This change, along with dozens of others, desperately needs to be made so players don't feel like every other thing you do in the game is a goddamn chore.
Idk about the wider fanbase and how much they enjoy it, tbh I'm sure most of them are like how I was when I first started: just surprised at the level of quality for a free game in an anime style with a cool elemental reaction system and a great story (whenever you finally get to it, that is). It sucks no matter what though because either most players feel that the game is a drag currently and hoyo just isnt listening, or the majority of players are happy with it and hoyo has no real reason to change their crappy approach.

Yeah I was flabbergasted with the amount of sheer brain rot cope I saw on twitter just gushing over how it was great to have a filler patch so they could FINALLY catch up with previous content. And then the defenders who'd come in and have dumbshit takes like, "Oh but see the next few patches and then Natlan are all going to be big, so the dev team needed this time!"
Genshin isn't a game, it's a tool to farm casual's wallets. Free to play players are just free advertising bots.

The genshin potion event we had it twice in Star Rail, it was the Belobog Museum and Aurun Alley in Luofu.

You are mostly talking to monsters and occasionally pour drinks to them but you are not getting money or doing management thingie like in the Museum and Genshin event so bar event is really different. I guess you just said it because there are liquids in glass present in both but mechanics are not the same.
7:25 be pissed at it in genshin but it’s the same shit in Honkai with some events. The cosmo odyssey is just roll dice to make funds then come back the next day to get more dice, this isn’t just a genshin exclusive issue but I don’t think genshin has any other events run along with this shit, or for new players, having all previous events be playable so even if it is just a fund accruer you atleast have those old ones, but iirc 3-5 of them are just fund maker busy work like the museum event just running back and forth talking to ppl.
And the genshin event he showed was essentially the aurum alley event with the stock sitting on the ships no? Teccy, don’t get me started on that fucking alchemy quest. Even though I do like Genshin Impact (not as much as Star Rail), that quest was as boring as watching paint dry. While I tend to grit my teeth and push through the occasional Genshin events I don’t like, this was one of the few where I played about a half-hour of it and said, “nope, fuck this shit. I thought games were supposed to be fun. How the hell can anyone find this shit fun?”
If games start feeling like chores, then they are no longer serving their purpose.

I started at 10pm and played till 4am, it WAS FUCKING TORTURE. I gave up not even trying to get the fucking weapon to R5 and stopped at r4, even tho im a chevreuse main.

After the first 3 lets say 4 patches of a region, I can't play genshin without watching a video on my other monitor, and I usually just do dailies\main evenet and lot off.I thought 3.6-3.8 were gonna be the worst patches but here we are.
honestly at that point with your goldfish attention span, I’d suggest just taking a break altogether until natlan. I sometimes take week long breaks from genshin and come back to do quests because i’m into the story

4.6 just dropped two days ago. Yesterday a friend sent me a screenshot of her having 100%ed both new areas and Im already at 89% and 98% without really spending all to much time (2-3ish hours) and most of it were clicking through the world quest, because if Hoyo doesnt care to voice these quests, I dont care to read them. All Im gonna say is this: We just got a 10 Pull in Star Rail, we´ll get another with 2.2 and probably around 10-15 times the "Twinkletits" in an Update there, compared to Genshin. Like 2.1 compared to the entirety of these last 3 filler patches had STILL more Jades than ALL 3 COMBINED.
