On the case of the arle story quest, Ive seen bilibili creators agreeing that the trailer ruined the experience but they also bring up the case of wanderer who people thought the game was intentionally making a "sad backstory" to justify actions and sell the character, so they think this time the devs released this trailer to set the "first impression" for most players to stop any "taken out of context" controversies. It serves the purpose to prevent uncalled bad press, but completely removes the mystery of "who is clervie, what is she talking about" and the dramatic changes of the player's attitude towards Arle.
I think the trailer would serves it purposes if its cut before the duel began then readjust some scene and story quest dialogue leading to that ofc. Then later in the story quest, they add the extended version (or just a new cutscene based on that). That way, the build up of "scary" Father is still there because we know something must happen during that duel that makes Clervie died and reappears in HoTH as a ghost while establishing the tyrannical rule of the previous "Mother" and the mystery aspects between Peruere's relationship and decision during that duel. You will get best of both of world of caring for Clervie as character, the suspense of HoTH real "dark secret", Arlecchino motives, etc. The paid off on "poison" scene would also be better because we know the guy with the scar is from HoTH as well. Why does he still lives selling newspaper? Why he don't remember "Father"? All will be tied up at the end of story quest implicitly if you don't figure it out the moment he bumped to you (and that's fine) while closing the actual main arc for Arlecchino with Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. For me personally, I prefer that kind of storytelling approach. I also had the same issue with La Vaguellete initially, because the second the quest took turn into replacing the main actress (which is 5 minutes max into the quest), I already know the conclusion. It does kinda paid off in the end at least, but the feeling is not as intense as it should be. La Vaguellete on its own is already a great standalone video because we already been through the conclusion of 4.2 Archon Quest. I know one of my friend who didn't watch La Vaguellete PV, cried after Furina story quest (he just returning after 6 months of hiatus), while I'm sitting there with my unfazed face. Thats the disadvantage of having the exact linear story plot as your PV imo. But if you enjoyed it, then good for you. Then again, not every story must have its turn. It can be simple, mundane, or pointless like most story quest in GI, and it can still be enjoyable sometimes. But personally, when introducing some of the more important character like Arlecchino and Furina, I think its better to give their story a room for improvement. Meaning, the story need to evolve beyond whats we already know from Archon Quest or PV. As much as "character development" implied for Arlecchino, it didn't change our perspective about her that much because she has been behaving the same as we expect since 4.0. It certainly DOES change our perspective about HoTH though, from the morally ambiguous to "at least we know the why and how they did this". I think I'll just cut it here. Sorry for the long rambling. Went back to Genshin after quitting for a while to see what was that woman about, and decided to try her story before pulling, and I was surprised that the MC role was just babysit her here and there like she was the most important character in the universe, not only that, but she was omniscient, knew everything beforehand and everything always went exactly as she wanted... While also in the end of the quest, became omnipotent bcz we've never seen the MC so powerless, even against the almighty Shogun he wasn't shaking and crying like a PSTD war veteran in a fight that he wasn't even trying... She could be really cool if the story wasn't so bad written and the resolution of the story wasn't made with "pulling power and most importantly, a memory wiper potion from her ass"... Instead they could just buff her up to MC lore levels, bcz on that stage the MC already wields 5 elements... Not only they made the MC forgot he could use elements in a fight... They also even had the brilliant thought to make her say that "the MC is too weak". I am Extremely disappointed... That writing where a random character pulls shit from their ass is so awful, literally no effort at all. So i didn't pull, straight up deleted the game once again. Fking waste of time.

As a Genshin player, I never at any point hated Tectone, and I'm not a huge watcher either, I just come by once in a few months, but his criticism is almost always valid. So you're going to deal with whoever their no-name NPC focus is or someone nearby while also talking to them. You still talk to her more than anyone else. At least in this quest it was people we knew and not someone we did not. Clervie was introduced to us before and even if she wasn't, at least she was important to who Arlecchino was. Much like Dehya's Dad or the previous General Mahamatra for Cyno (although I would have preferred something with Hermanubis, but we're getting Sq2 with it so it's all good). Of course, not all SQ are like this, and we *can* definitely complain about those. But Arle's was top 10 imo. #1 is Zhongli SQ1 imo, then #2 is Venti.

Genshin puts excessive text in general but Arlecchino´s quest wasn´t bad compared to other quests, it wasn´t too repetitive and I didn´t feel like the prereleased video spoiled the whole plot but I agree that genshin´s system accustoms players to not being interested in reading and trying to skip as much as possible if not all.
I liked Arlecchino story quest despite the endless yapping. Sure the titular character wasnt featured much but the quest depicts how intertwined the orphanage is to Father. The trailer shows the past orphanage, the story quest shows the current orphanage. I get that most of Genshin character story quests are NPC story quests in disguise but in this case, orphanage story quest IS an Arlecchino story quest It aint mindblowing but I can appreciate what it wanted to accomplish and move on about my day

@@lockysigarlaki163 No skip button, very little primogem rewards for f2p, even for low spenders such as myself who can only guarantee a character once every 4 months (I can guarantee a character in HSR within like 2 months, considering "guaranteeing" being about 156 wishes average if I lose 50/50), no incentive to go back to old regions, minigames/events are too mickey mouse easy (in HSR I can't SS every event, sometimes I can't even get S ranking, as well as not being able to fully clear Pure Fiction or some MoC), the only option for endgame players is Abyss, which is boring as hell, they literally just gave sumeru a minor "expansion" and it had an astounding 4 chests in it, taking into account that this entire new portion of land is half the size of mondstadt. Farming is boring as hell, we don't have an artifact synthesizer like in HSR, we've never been given double drops on artifact or weapon material domains, the ley lines only get double drops every what? 3 months it feels? Maybe longer? It should be an "every weekend" thing, if anything. Banners last too long for the amount of characters we currently have, and the new third banner is an awful fix for that since we have to wait for a character to have 2 reruns for them to maybe end up there. The story feels like it lasts 20x the amount of time it should because they love being prolix and saying nothing different than what they have said 300 times already in the past hour during a quest. I could honestly go on for a long time, it's a very poorly managed game, there's no excuse for the billion dollar company to do the things that they do with genshin. HSR is definitely the favorite child.

Teccy has always been that one person that alot of people just love to hate. Here's the thing, I sometimes get annoyed with him being a negative nancy especially when I used to have a unhealthy obsession with genshin but never have I ever hated him that much that I wanted his account that he spent a lot of hard earned money to get banned. Like you can get annoyed by someone but to the point where you wish harm to them or gatekeep them from doing something is just way too much. Although technically Genshin Impact was the first Hoyoverse game I played, I couldn't get into it so I never waded further into the reddit community. HSR was the game that hooked me enough to explore the reddit community, and Tectone's name was whispered like he was some sort of baby-eating monster. Due to all of these negative comments, I watched other CCs instead, but the TH-cam algorithm kept promoting Tectone until finally I decided to see what he's all about, and all I got was... a normal person? Sure he might have takes that I disagree with, but for the most part, Tectone has been very entertaining and it baffles me how so many redditors continue to lose their minds at the mention of his name like he's some sort of trigger word for them.

I don't usually get into dramas but I gotta say it's fun sometimes
On the case of the arle story quest, Ive seen bilibili creators agreeing that the trailer ruined the experience but they also bring up the case of wanderer who people thought the game was intentionally making a "sad backstory" to justify actions and sell the character, so they think this time the devs released this trailer to set the "first impression" for most players to stop any "taken out of context" controversies. It serves the purpose to prevent uncalled bad press, but completely removes the mystery of "who is clervie, what is she talking about" and the dramatic changes of the player's attitude towards Arle.
I think the trailer would serves it purposes if its cut before the duel began then readjust some scene and story quest dialogue leading to that ofc. Then later in the story quest, they add the extended version (or just a new cutscene based on that). That way, the build up of "scary" Father is still there because we know something must happen during that duel that makes Clervie died and reappears in HoTH as a ghost while establishing the tyrannical rule of the previous "Mother" and the mystery aspects between Peruere's relationship and decision during that duel.
You will get best of both of world of caring for Clervie as character, the suspense of HoTH real "dark secret", Arlecchino motives, etc. The paid off on "poison" scene would also be better because we know the guy with the scar is from HoTH as well. Why does he still lives selling newspaper? Why he don't remember "Father"? All will be tied up at the end of story quest implicitly if you don't figure it out the moment he bumped to you (and that's fine) while closing the actual main arc for Arlecchino with Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. For me personally, I prefer that kind of storytelling approach.
I also had the same issue with La Vaguellete initially, because the second the quest took turn into replacing the main actress (which is 5 minutes max into the quest), I already know the conclusion. It does kinda paid off in the end at least, but the feeling is not as intense as it should be. La Vaguellete on its own is already a great standalone video because we already been through the conclusion of 4.2 Archon Quest. I know one of my friend who didn't watch La Vaguellete PV, cried after Furina story quest (he just returning after 6 months of hiatus), while I'm sitting there with my unfazed face. Thats the disadvantage of having the exact linear story plot as your PV imo. But if you enjoyed it, then good for you.
Then again, not every story must have its turn. It can be simple, mundane, or pointless like most story quest in GI, and it can still be enjoyable sometimes. But personally, when introducing some of the more important character like Arlecchino and Furina, I think its better to give their story a room for improvement. Meaning, the story need to evolve beyond whats we already know from Archon Quest or PV. As much as "character development" implied for Arlecchino, it didn't change our perspective about her that much because she has been behaving the same as we expect since 4.0. It certainly DOES change our perspective about HoTH though, from the morally ambiguous to "at least we know the why and how they did this".

Went back to Genshin after quitting for a while to see what was that woman about, and decided to try her story before pulling, and I was surprised that the MC role was just babysit her here and there like she was the most important character in the universe, not only that, but she was omniscient, knew everything beforehand and everything always went exactly as she wanted... While also in the end of the quest, became omnipotent bcz we've never seen the MC so powerless, even against the almighty Shogun he wasn't shaking and crying like a PSTD war veteran in a fight that he wasn't even trying...
She could be really cool if the story wasn't so bad written and the resolution of the story wasn't made with "pulling power and most importantly, a memory wiper potion from her ass"...
Instead they could just buff her up to MC lore levels, bcz on that stage the MC already wields 5 elements... Not only they made the MC forgot he could use elements in a fight... They also even had the brilliant thought to make her say that "the MC is too weak".

As a Genshin player, I never at any point hated Tectone, and I'm not a huge watcher either, I just come by once in a few months, but his criticism is almost always valid. Doesn't matter whether Tectone or anyone else points that out or makes a 180 and suddenly starts praising Genshin, the reality remains that Genshin has a whole pile of flaws. But not addressing them means 0 chance of improving, hence bad for the people who love Genshin in the first place.

So you're going to deal with whoever their no-name NPC focus is or someone nearby while also talking to them. You still talk to her more than anyone else. At least in this quest it was people we knew and not someone we did not. Clervie was introduced to us before and even if she wasn't, at least she was important to who Arlecchino was. Much like Dehya's Dad or the previous General Mahamatra for Cyno (although I would have preferred something with Hermanubis, but we're getting Sq2 with it so it's all good). Of course, not all SQ are like this, and we *can* definitely complain about those. But Arle's was top 10 imo. #1 is Zhongli SQ1 imo, then #2 is Venti.

Genshin puts excessive text in general but Arlecchino´s quest wasn´t bad compared to other quests, it wasn´t too repetitive and I didn´t feel like the prereleased video spoiled the whole plot but I agree that genshin´s system accustoms players to not being interested in reading and trying to skip as much as possible if not all.
I liked Arlecchino story quest despite the endless yapping. Sure the titular character wasnt featured much but the quest depicts how intertwined the orphanage is to Father. The trailer shows the past orphanage, the story quest shows the current orphanage. I get that most of Genshin character story quests are NPC story quests in disguise but in this case, orphanage story quest IS an Arlecchino story quest
It aint mindblowing but I can appreciate what it wanted to accomplish and move on about my day

@@lockysigarlaki163 No skip button, very little primogem rewards for f2p, even for low spenders such as myself who can only guarantee a character once every 4 months (I can guarantee a character in HSR within like 2 months, considering "guaranteeing" being about 156 wishes average if I lose 50/50), no incentive to go back to old regions, minigames/events are too mickey mouse easy (in HSR I can't SS every event, sometimes I can't even get S ranking, as well as not being able to fully clear Pure Fiction or some MoC), the only option for endgame players is Abyss, which is boring as hell, they literally just gave sumeru a minor "expansion" and it had an astounding 4 chests in it, taking into account that this entire new portion of land is half the size of mondstadt. Farming is boring as hell, we don't have an artifact synthesizer like in HSR, we've never been given double drops on artifact or weapon material domains, the ley lines only get double drops every what? 3 months it feels? Maybe longer? It should be an "every weekend" thing, if anything. Banners last too long for the amount of characters we currently have, and the new third banner is an awful fix for that since we have to wait for a character to have 2 reruns for them to maybe end up there. The story feels like it lasts 20x the amount of time it should because they love being prolix and saying nothing different than what they have said 300 times already in the past hour during a quest. I could honestly go on for a long time, it's a very poorly managed game, there's no excuse for the billion dollar company to do the things that they do with genshin. HSR is definitely the favorite child.

If you truly like something then you want it to succeed. In that endeavor you'll point out flaws in it so that they may be address and that something becomes better. That is how I see Tectone when it come to genshin. The man really wanted the game to fix its flaws and was attacked for it. This happens in any game but genshin is the main one that has so much hate for thinking the games needs improvement. I dont think Tectone is as bad as people say and is simplely a gatcha CC making content for my amusement.
I hated Tectone before but after realizing that his rants are what genshin needed to improve and change. It opened my eyes. Teccy has always been that one person that alot of people just love to hate. Here's the thing, I sometimes get annoyed with him being a negative nancy especially when I used to have a unhealthy obsession with genshin but never have I ever hated him that much that I wanted his account that he spent a lot of hard earned money to get banned. Like you can get annoyed by someone but to the point where you wish harm to them or gatekeep them from doing something is just way too much. I genuinely think tectones a pretty decent dude especially when I actually see him enjoy the game he plays and I admit I have been enjoying seeing clips of him especially the ones in Cookie run kingdom.
11:10 this is why I love how Star Rail handles the patches after the main story, they either add events with a story worth following or we get "sequels" to already completeled stories (Topaz visiting Belogob and Ruan Mei n' Ratio of the spaceship)
This way even 1.5 the "filler patch" had content

Although technically Genshin Impact was the first Hoyoverse game I played, I couldn't get into it so I never waded further into the reddit community. HSR was the game that hooked me enough to explore the reddit community, and Tectone's name was whispered like he was some sort of baby-eating monster. Due to all of these negative comments, I watched other CCs instead, but the TH-cam algorithm kept promoting Tectone until finally I decided to see what he's all about, and all I got was... a normal person?
Sure he might have takes that I disagree with, but for the most part, Tectone has been very entertaining and it baffles me how so many redditors continue to lose their minds at the mention of his name like he's some sort of trigger word for them.
