The game has just become predictable to a fault. You know exactly how everything plays out: The first few patches of each new region add a new map and the archon quest, after that it's filler events that do nothing but show off mundane things. Each patch has one flagship event followed by one combat event and one minigame event, and at the end we get Ley Line Overflow, Mastery Overflow or Liben. We get character drip marketing, followed by new characters being shown off in the next trailer, then the teaser, then the demo, then the miscelani, then the release, rince and repeat. Each character gets one new weapon taylored to them and no one else. Each new region they add has one main world quest that locks around 40% or exploration behind it, and you can bet that it is full of bloated dialogue. There is absolutely zero surprise, everything is completely planned out and predictable, and that's what makes it boring.
Not being able to skip story is the worst!! Like I get it they don't want us to run out of content very soon by skipping but atleast make world quest skippable
I agree but even what makes me still play this game is that what makes it special it’s self yes they’re are boring stuff and that world quests and stuff but that’s not a reason for me to stop playing after watching this video I feel like there’s nothing to do left a journey last for a very long time if your not patience then what is a true meaning of a journey?a journey it’s self is like this a journey we get to do our own journey think about it why did you stop playing? If you did so much then why are you quitting right now? After all the progress you done why leave now?im not offended by this video or anything I know you have a lot of quests and stuff go through it and give a try I know I know it’s very boring your not alone I have a bunch a quests so why not do it when your not alone? The progress you made in a game is what you have done why leave it now? Just like a new phone your super excited to get your new phone but after a couple of months you find it boring so now what’s the point? New stuff will turn into old stuff. With now the new anniversary you get this event called the passing memories? I think but it showed how much you made in game and that really bring back memories how much efforts. But if your really tired? Take a good old nap until your satisfied and relax don’t force yourself and if it’s really a chore? Take a break you don’t have to do it now this is just my opinion so you don’t have to listen to it but since your reading this then consider thinking again.
i’ve been playing since 1.3 genshin was my first open world rpg and gacha game and it even helped me a lot during the pandemic. today however, playing genshin feels more like i’m waiting in traffic; you feel as if you’re moving an inch every hour just waiting for it to pick up the pace. and honestly, after seeing how the developers refuse to add any endgame and fix the resin system im starting to see no point in playing at all. i can quite literally say i’ve beaten the game, every area is 100%, i have all of the characters i want, and i can 36* abyss easily. i know arlecchino is coming out soon too but i just cant feel hyped for her since my other characters can complete the same content just fine
The resin system worked great back when things needed to be gated. Example I have a heavy whale account, it's caught up and i explore mainly for percentage. I started a new F2P account. I'm using videos to hardcore speedrun 100% in the game, even with videos leading me to every chest, it's taken me like a week to get monstadt 100%. Assuming 1-2 weeks per region, I'll have the game completed, with max efficency, in 4-5 weeks, but realistically it will be more like 12-15 weeks. if not longer. If a game can officially take, 15+ weeks to 100% while using a point by point video guide. for the average player, who just kinda finds stuff, the game will take dang near an entire work year (52 weeks) just to get caught up. we are at a point where all resin does, is extend that 52 weeks, to 104 weeks. they could remove resin today, and for most people it would take them beyond a year to build all their characters. I think it's time genshin invests more money into outfits and things to do with your characters and friends, and removes the resin system entirely.
But... the storytelling sucks. Literally, I was interested in the story, but the pacing and the dialogs suuuuuuuck. That's why I quit, doing the story quests is the most boring part.
I agree with you. Though the reason I stopped playing was because i got bored of constantly grinding, fighting, etc. And just like you said in the video, there was not much things friends can do except grind domains, fight bosses or chat.
For me the fact that every major character gets along with the traveler make things a bit boring. Also the lack of end game content and events are often lackluster.
All the characters are extremely flat. All just “happy genki girl/boy” “cool and relaxed serious character” or “fun and flirty.” None really go beyond that. Maybe they have a slight personality quirk. They never do anything “wrong” or “gross” or are beyond “morally questionable.” The characters are so rounded, so safe, and really boring, so it makes the story they occupy boring
I just uninstalled Genshin last night after 2 and a half years of playing. It was hard at first since I've spent alot of time and money into it but I could no longer pretend being hyped by new characters and regions and I was simply not having fun anymore as a whole so I made a promise to myself that once I got Arlecchino and max bond her, that will be my last goal before I go for good. Now I'm kinda just looking for new games to play while waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds release
I just recently stopped playing genshin too. I was also burned out. And my reasons are pretty much the same as yours with the addition of the boring side stories and frickin long dialogues. Lots of frickin long dialogues! Don't get me wrong, i love a good story. I've been playing RPGs since the early 90's and the main reason for it is because of the story. But there seems to be a lot of stories and dialogue in genshin that feels like a chore to go through. When i realized that i no longer care and just mindlessly skip them all now did i realize i've got to stop.
as a lower ranked player, I can't ever get any 5 stars, get any of my desired artifacts, and never have a high enough skill level to do anything. It makes it super discouraging to play anymore and logging on feels more annoying then anything.
@@pintobeani5361 to get good artifact play domain 50-60 lv you will get 4star if you want 5 star play lv80 one that's one gives you higher chance to get 5 star artifact also use condensed Raisen to get good artifact that's my tips for play for 1and half year
@@pintobeani5361From a game as easy as Genshin? Dude, hit me up. Most of everyone in the community is willing to help you so long as you ask, progression seems slow but everytime you use your resin you're getting ahead. I suggest pulling for Kaedahara Kazuha rn and Raiden Shogun next patch, Nahida and possibly Mavuika or Zhongli after. You want strong characters? To be able to get into the meta? Or is the game too hard for you, when world levels can be lowered and coop being coop? Lol people pay other people to olay genshin for them or fix their account, when it's such a simple game (apart from all the text/lore). The only time I've ever struggled was exploring and solving puzzles in Inazuma and Sumeru, watching guides for this would be an easy fix
True.. I'm a casual lore player, solving puzzles are my thing but it got too repetitive to the point it gets too overused. I'm especially disappointed in the recent patches and I seldom log in. I do like exploring but it gets too repetitive too. If I do all of the world quest, it leaves me with nothing to do in the future. New characters don't excite me as much because i already have what I need. It's been I haven't really played much since 4.2.
Even though I love this game. There are something’s that need to be addressed about: 1. I absolutely hate the fact that there’s no skip button when it comes to dialogue. Man it’s so frustrating that dialogue cannot be skipped. 2. The NPCS look awful they all look exactly the same. Especially the male NPCs they’re pretty much just copy and paste. 3. There’s really no point to obtaining new characters because maxing them out takes forever.
I can kinda explain all the 3 things you just said 1. genshin impact is a story game and there would be like no story if you could just skip it because everybody would do it 2. it takes alot of time and money to make that many NPCS so no wonder all of them would look similar 3. if you could max out a character in few days than the game would be so easy
@@JOS1PA Hoyo is a billion dollar company. Surely they can hire a few artists and animators to make new NPC models. Please be serious. Two, even visual novels and other rpgs and story games have skip buttons. Lame excuse.
@@JOS1PA I’m sorry but the “it’s a story game” is by far the worst reasoning I’ve ever heard because there’s countless visual novels and visual novel styles gacha games that only have or are mostly story yet they have a skip button. Wuthering waves has a skip button, honkai impact 3rd which is also a story based gane has a skip button. You can name any gacha that isn’t HSR and genshin and they have a skip button so genshin being a story game is no excuse
@@JOS1PA HSR abd zzz have more unique abd memorable npc designs than genshin it doesnt take nearly as long as you think especially when they can just make unique NPCs for relevant places like story quests and stores. As for your 3rd statement again HSR zzz, and wuwa let you farm whenever you want. None of any of your points actually make any sense
I quit once but came back. My main issues with the game are unclear instructions and a lack of QoL. The amount of times I had to watch a YT video to progress is too high. They should have a hint system in the game that helps out. And what absolutely irks me is that the treasure compass doesn't alert you to hidden chests/mechanisms, just chests that are out in the open. If they'd let you locate all remaining chests after you do like 80% of the exploration, that would be great. Missing a few chests and having to watch a 2-hour vid just to know where they are is maddening.
I agree with you man. I recently quit genshin two days ago, i just want to quit the genre, i unfortunately fell victim to the predatory practices. I did some bad stuff just to get the characters i wanted. I had fun while i was on it, but i just want to move on and get into other genres of games!
no because i finished exploration and and all quests and now it feels like there's nothing to do because you run out of resin in like 5 second 😭 i kind of fixed the issue because i started really playing tcg and building in my serenitea pot, but there's only so much you can do with the purposfully limited resources you're given, so ig ima wait for 4.6 but i really wish the game still felt like how it did when i first began playing
"Finally i can touch some grass" Yea, i hate farming so much after playing genshin for 1k hours, i hate dailies, i hate grinding, i feel bored of exploration. I dont think i could play any other games bcs of that 😂
I started playing 2022 and i quit in 2023, i waited for a skip button dialogue to speedrun the story side quests but fast forward 2023 no skip button in sight, uninstalled after, i got frustrated because of how long the dialogues are. There is not even a mount mechanic to all characters so that exploration could have a new life. But you just run around and walk.
I think this is a good lesson that it's just good to let go. Times come and go, and no one game of this type will be forever. I'm just glad that the false hooks of gains made didn't stop you, or anyone else. I've done quite for two months myself, content in just seeing story segments on youtube. If I want to interact with the world, fanart and fanfiction are more than enough to satisfy the itch. (And often a lot better.) Good luck to you all out there.
Well, I agree with you, but I'm not as lucky as you. At least you've been able to collect all the characters you wanted, while I haven’t even gotten the characters I aim for. I keep getting characters I don’t even want and have to develop them out of necessity. I gather Primogems little by little, but even during events, I still don't get them. And when I do get a new character, I have to start leveling them up from level 1 all over again. Once I finally reach Natlan, I’m done with this game.
You have to know what you want from the get go. 590 Hours in, c6 hu tao, r5 homa, c6 furina, r5 waters, my login session consists of co op lyre arrangements and chatting w the newer players about what characters they want to get. The game's fairly simple, you have the same sequence of clicks, you have your skill per character, you have a set rotation and a set domain you have to farm, you have a character you'll get in a couple of banners, you'll get it and start over. Genshin was "revolutionary", but not replayable, two very different things, the game uses its funding and catchy first timers to get you into playing it but you're not actually attracted to what it's made of. Without the character's designs, without the VFX, what do you have? You have M1s, you have a skill that does X and Y, you have your burst that you'll click every few seconds, understand that hoyo's expertise is selling vanity, you'll buy it and use it as fuel to endure their awful design because it just works, and being aware of it isn't enough to snap you out when you're just starting.
@@slidersgamingyt Oh, of course LOL, I'm pretty well set so I swiped for what I wanted and let the others stay at c0. Regardless of whether you think the game's flawed you'll still want to play it while the feeling's working, for me it lasted 2 months after I got furina and I got back to not caring; abyss wasn't a deal even before whaling and co-op isn't replacing real face to face interactions, haven't logged on in a while.
For me it's mainly 2 reasons 1. The exploration got stale, especially in Fontane 2. You still need to grind even if you just want to use a new character in exploration
Been playing since October 2020, just recently stopped. For me because: - This game doesn't feel fun - Grindfest simulator - The world is massive, yes. But it feels so lifeless, barely interaction with the people/NPCs (except enemies) - Story is so "information overload", bloated dialogue. - Paimon's-plaining. This is the reason why a free-to-play, gacha, open world game design is so bad. Also just a shallow rip-off of Breath of the Wild
For me i don't feel it's a choire because there are many games that more repeatative than this and the dailies for those games takes more time just to finish them all. There is also a lot of quest and stories that are available right now and for me this game can be played in your own pace and does not require you to do many things just become more stronger. Also it doesn't stress me much because it doesn't have a typical pvp. The only thing that i slightly hate in this game is the rng in artifacts. But overall this is a really relaxing and fun game for me. Also since day one up to now i still continue on playing genshin and no plan on discontinuing. Every players have their own opinions, whether bad or good I respect them all.
Im uninstalling it cuz it takes too much space. + affecting my studies, making me stress, Im a med student, i always liked playing. It may be indoor or outdoor, when I was in cadet college, I had access to all kind of games, but after passing out from my clg about 5 years ago, I tried to filled this void with video games which actually made me more empty. I have really tried to lead a balance life style, but it seems like I cant. Whatever I do, I do it diligently, it may be studying or playing games. I cant maintain playing games, guitar, learning German or other hobbies at the same time with studying. I get bored very easily and it really hampers my study. From the pattern I have watched, I install an app or get a new hobby, put a looooooooot of time in it for some days, but dont do actual work, then after some days I get boredand find other hobbies, and these are all for distracting myself (to achieve name as a cool good students who playes games, guitars or learn languages etc etc), And at the end of the day I do nothing. These talks are just to me or any other person like me, who is trapped in between finding a hobby that actually clear my minds, After contemplating for a long time, I decided that, the thing Im best at are studing timely, watching anime/drama which interests me. And watching a healing/ thriller movie at the weekend. The high stimulus hobbies just give me stress ( I am AR 29, and you may think, why Im quitting so soon, I have already explained that, but the biggest mistake I have done is to watch a ton of videos about building chars, artifacts which just made me to take more stress, then to enjoy genshin, I have enough I dont wanna go to farming route, as it takes more time and I dont have that kind of patience, Its better to quit, beafore I get too much investing in this game, Sorry for the ranting)
And this is why even though I love this game, what I’ve chosen to do because I love this game, is just, not play every day, 150 primos a day (my welkin still hasn’t expired) isn’t worth what I want to do, instead I’m playing Pokemon again because it’s fresh and new
I started a new account to try to get Arlechinno for Dainsleif and goodness it's so hard to grind. For context, in HSR, I gained about 30 wishes in 3 days. In Genshin, it's so hard to climb walls, and ice bridging without anemo traveller feels HORRIBLE. I would never restart Genshin if I ever deleted my main. I would rather play HSR instead. They don't even have permanent events, like the combat ones where it's ACTUALLY fun. Genshin is just burning me out at this point. HSR, Wuwa, all gave really strong 5*s at the beginning, so exploring the world is actually fun. For this game to be fun, I need to get a Furina early on just to run on water and explore. It feels horrible to climb walls. I wished we could sprint up walls without consuming stamina, genuinely. I am still playing Genshin solely because I want Dainsleif to meet Arlechinno and take a photo. I agree with everything you've mentioned.
same samee, i used to play the game like everyday, but nowadays its boring. plus most of my friends there are inactive. i miss when genshin used to be fun for me
just had an argument with my friend and tbh the fact they still play has to be mentally draining for them because ive played longer by 6 months and ive been playing since day 1 the game just doesnt feel fun anymore and more like a chore and i did the math you need at least 80 common chest for a pull which is stupid asf it just feels like chore simulator instead of trying to enjoy the game and exploration is just even more boring after getting 100%
you held on for much longer than me lol! i started playing at release and by summer 2021 when ayaka finally released, i felt like i had done enough and the game had given me all it could, now after 3 years i'm back on it to play the bunch of new stuff there is, but even then i know it's just matter of time until i run out of things to do again.
I stopped playing Genshin because I couldn't stand the long, drawn out, and unskippable dialogue. The leveling system is needlessly complicated. You have to grind for SO MUCH shit. I hate that you have to use items to level up instead of gaining enough EXP from killing enemies. And leveling up gear adds to the tedium.
I uninstalled it :/ I been feeling like it’s just a job/chore for most of the HoYo games lately too. HSR is not so bad but I’m seeing the same path for me personally and ZZZ is new so still feels fresh. I think another problem too is I been playing other games with amazing story and characters and when comparing it to the HoYo games it’s night and day. Which isn’t fair but hard for me not to make a comparison since I have been playing both. Idk, it sucks with genshin cause I like the most of the cast from Fontaine a lot but I feel like I’m playing it because I felt obligated to and not for fun. I’m rambling but it sucks I feel that way for HoYo :(
Hey! I understand how you feel. I hope you've been doing better. Perhaps it might be the burnout, it is okay to take a break if you need to. I understand if you don't want to come back, perhaps it is better for you. Burnotu is never a good thing! If you decide to come back, we welcome you with open arms. I am hoping that Natlan and maybe Snezhnaya archon quest will at least be refreshing for you. It's not like gacha games are pristine in quality of storytelling, but I can tell the story is improving, albeit it's still a long way off before they can truly try to compete with actual games. I plan to stay until the end of Teyvat part. Whether I'll quit after that is another matter entirely, but I don't want to quit before the journey is over. If you like anime though, I do think Genshin anime would be interesting.
Stopped playing Genshin about 6mths ago. Racked up 3.5k hours, bit of light spending here and there. Only missing a few characters and their weapons. But when Fontaine dropped I was EXHAUSTED ! I had just 100% the whole map and all chests, got a bit into Fontaine and it was all just, . . The same, with a couple new mechanics here and there like always. Quests became way more long-winded and full of pointless unskippable dialogue. And much much more easy than any other region. The lack of challenge kills it for a lot of veterans, and the fact the game becomes a literal chore for 45min a day when you have nothing to do. All veterans have is artifact grinding and messing about in the abyss. I did enjoy just being 'in' the game and admiring it though. Still one of the prettiest game's I've ever played. If they add a system to pick your artifacts instead of RNG drops, or a vendor whom can re-roll the stats on them I might come back.
What I do to not get bored is buy accounts and try out new characters. All the resources of new characters aren’t farmed tho so I have to do it myself and fight HIGH lvl bosses. The accounts I buy are at lvl 45-50. It honestly creates a new challenge for me. I do the same with hsr.
I honestly started playing it less too, I barely log in at all now. At first it was genuinely fun to play when I had nothing else to do! I still make videos about it because I still enjoy it, but as a lower ranking player, it sucks that I physically can’t do anything in the game anymore because I don’t have the artifacts, weapons, or characters. And honestly, the story is so hard to follow. I gave up on trying to understand it at all because it kept going all over the place. I find it hard to fully understand and grasp stories in games, which is why I mostly play legend of Zelda and stuff like it. The story is easy to understand for me. But that’s about all I have to say.
Same man, I usually play MMOs back then so I was kinda used to a busy and crowded environment but when I moved to genshin it just felt peaceful and silent-which I liked...back then-not until when that peace turned into a feeling of utter loneliness. I tried doing coops even turning on the direct join option in my world just to play with other people, but to no avail...people just keeps on pushing me out. Other thing was that, in our area...heck! Even in our entire campus....I'm the only one who plays genshin so I don't really have someone to play with and share some conversation about the game with. While the people around me plays their usual go-to games I'm at the corner playing genshin alone. So to conclude, it's the loneliness who nailed the final nail to my coffin of quitting genshin for good
To be honest, the "stop playing the game and come back you'll enjoy it again" option isn't really good if the reason you play the game is based on reward driven difficulty gameplay. Yes you finished spiral abyss floor 12 by using "bad" characters but in the end it's still the same rewards as the person who used all the meta characters.
2:00 dude I fucking loved the potion one, it was several whole features in one and the fact they remove shit like that is the REAL reason we should all be quitting it's fucking unacceptable. I clicked on this hoping to reinforce my decision to quit over the urge to return and agree with it feeling like a todo list and job, but I also have exploration left and such, so you kinda gave me good reasons to stay too damn
Most games don't last nearly as much as this one did to me. I just dropped it for the second time now. I'm no longer interested in anything but the story by this point, Fontaine's archon quest was brilliant, so I'm going to wait at least for Natlan (complete archon quest) to arrive and maybe I'll return, otherwise I have no motivation to keep playing.
@anonz_01 Oh I only played until the Caribert quest, wich I really liked! I'm having fun with WuWa and Infinity Nikki right now... I kind of wasn't counting on having other games to play lol. I might get back on Genshin once I'm done doing like 90% of the stuff in those games (100% for me is too much, unless it's easy to do like the Black Shores in WuWa, I won't do it because I find it boring).
Exactly i only have like one friend who plays genshin and i honestly loved genshin because i would play and adventure with my friends but none of them play it anymore and it just feels lonely and exhausting :,)
Coming from a veteran who left the game for 2 years after Inazuma and come back for Arlechino, This video accurately portrays what I felt before leaving the game, I got all the characters that I wanted after starting the game, after getting them the game started to feel bore. I have the top 3 dps of the game and some best supports like Kazuha, zhongli etc, as a f2p my account grew very strong. I waited for them to drop some character which will powercrept them, but they never did. And finally with Fontaine Arlechino and Nuvillette came, I Installed the game, had 40 pulls left so I wished and got Arle. My interest for game grew again. Then I realised something if I just do my dalies for 2 years, just think how much pulls would I have. If I had just think of this moment back then, I would have never deleted this game. So you just need a endgame for yourself to not loose interest, right now my endgame is to save for a C6 character. So I've just doing dailes and event and then done and dusted for the day, honestly it just take 10-15min. And the Fontaine lore was so good that I'm looking forward for the story as well.
sometimes i have to have a 3-5 month long break from genshin just to take a step back, due to always having the same issue. i either dont find it interesting or it just becomes too repetitive. but since the start of last year, i take my time with certain quests and exploring so that i then give myself something to do in a way. it is a shame that a lot of us do either need to go on breaks from the game or to just leave, cause it is a really good game, just becoming way too predictable. i can only hope that this will all change soon and maybe there will be something that can be changed in some form to then bring something fresh to the game.
eh.. maybe 36 stars first before calling the game too easy? 3:12 1:03 the point of grinding?for me is to 36 star the abyss, but when u reach 36 star, yeah you just grind for new character or your existing character to make them even more stronger, and do nuke showcase or speedrunning.
So real, I quit in 2022. The whole chore stuff was a waste of my time and even the exploration felt annoying. It took so much time and effort to build new characters and do the story the general appeal of the game was lost. And now there’s so much I would have to catch up on and it’s just pointless atp. And strangely, I don’t even like the new characters because of how nostalgic I am towards old genshin and the characters I’m familiar with. It was nice while it lasted though
Nah i agree everything he said and ngl i do enjoy playing this game mainly for story and character quests they were good but the things i hate about this game is grinding artifacts or other stuff but with randomness numbers generator and i don’t get what i need to build characters into good. It’s so lame and i feel like i want to quit playing it ugh feels like i hate every second of it
i always worry about running out of exploration tbf cuz i love it so im usually slacking a bit on quests nowadays so i can have a vacation from my other game with some comfy exploring :3
I just came back, and I'm feeling it too. Also, it just requires so much of my time bro I'm gonna be a dad soon, and I don't think genshin is gonna help
@@3lackSwordsman kind of replaced Genshin with zenless zone zero but I don't play it every day which is nice because its way more casual and has a battery
I'm a day 1 player and spent less than 100$ on this game. I have every character I could ever want. Abyss is a joke. There is nothing left for me. Realistically, deleting the game would cost me nothing, since I haven't logged in for the past month anyway. But I've spent too much time on this dumb game to do that. I'm turning 20 this year, and I'm wondering if this is what it feels like for someone who has a dead end job, wanting so badly to just quit, but can't for whatever reason. If a game makes me think of harrowing stuff like that, then it's a testament to how much of a sham this shit is.
I stopped playing this game as well. I find parts of the story in Genshin to be very intriguing as some who plays games for the story, world building, and its characters. But it was not only draining me financially, but the amount of grinding you need to do without spending and cash made it harder. Also I had multiple skill issues and that was the last straw for me. No matter how long I play this game, it’s not even fun anymore. While I follow news on Genshin regularly, I stop playing since I lost all commitment to continue this game and just focused on better games to play.
true my state in the game is similar to your I wanted Wanderer Furina Kazuha Raiden and Arlecchino but now that I have them max lvl everything is just kinda boring. for example when I use my arle my 100k normal attacks just finish every enemy too quickly
I used to teach in the education sector. One thing that motivates all people is (1) a surprisingly, survivably enjoyable amount of unbearable challenge, and (2) a clear end-goal to strive for. Genshin... only has the latter, unfortunately. No challenge. Just endless, shallow, kiddy-level "jingle jingle look at me" tactics to keep people to stay. Mind-numbing puzzles, Subway-surfer-ass events (actual e.g. nahida birthday cart), and an ENTIRE NATION that net you only 3-5 ten pulls worth of primogems for ransacking to 100%. I praise Genshin for the story, exploration, even mobile optimization; but NOT the gameplay. All but bullshit in this gameplay loop and update cycle. Still excited to see what HoYo does for us. Can't deny I'm still invested in the story, will still revisit for archon quests. Can't just slander them, they've been getting better at narrative immersion.
I’m going to check how that new game is.. idk if I’ll enjoy it or not but I’m getting drained and exhausted from Genshin like u and everyone else is, it really does feel like a chore to explore the entire map, feels like I have to keep avoiding npcs to skip those long 2 hours quests like in the desert, etc. don’t get me wrong the lore wasn’t bad but paimon never gave us a choice it’s so infuriating why do we do them if it doesn’t benefit the character to finding are sibling . I loved Fontaine’s content, but I know that the next areas won’t be as good. Traveler barely talks it’s hard to rlly keep up with artifacts and such- I just want a game that’s like Genshin but that’s not as time consuming, infuriating, listens to its community, etc. so I really hope the game I’m trying will be better for me. the beginning of the game was fun, but now the developers won’t listen to us and are just doing it for the money not for our benefits.
I think these points also can be apply on other gacha games. The gacha games i personally playing is Project Sekai. The reasons I slowly not playing the game is also very similar to the reason mentioned. 😅 For now, i have decided to play paid games that actually letting me to enjoy and needless to worry about virtual currency😢
I'm feeling the burn out finally. When you look for to the week or so after break after you finish the battle pass before the next version more than playing the game, that's a problem.
I stopped a bit earlier after the fontaine mainquest basically finished. They now try to gather a few people back with their browny points changes that have been demanded for years but yet they dont address so many issues this game has. From 2 dead attack elements with Physical and Geo to story, weapons etc. that you miss out on are gone forever no, mediocre events, barely any qol etc. Sure they try now but imo its far to late for me wanting to go back.
I really cant understand why Mihoyo with the gatcha market in its hands has chose to let genshin impact dying and make less money of what actually they could for no reason.
I played Genshin when Sumeru was released. I suddenly quit the game when I was doing the Fontaine Archon Quest. Fontaine's design and story made me stay the game but meh. What I find pretty appealing to the game was it's character designs and the music 👌 It's just this game takes long and very repetitive you'll be bored real sooner 😐
Started playing genshin 3 weeks ago and I got bored when I was on AR 26, I just can't get defeat a mission because my characters is still weak and I'm like "What am I supposed to do?". I can't upgrade my characters because I need to be on rank 35 and I'm stressed af. For me, I don't think genshin is for me at all.
This game slowly got my blood pressure to rise as I kept playing. After a while everything got so grating. The characters weren't interesting on a story level, the lore>story thing they're doing was also a big turnoff. It all feels... soulless now. Like, why would I want to play this when I could invest hours into the awesome world of Ivalice in Final Fantasy XII? Or even Final Fantasy XIV if I really need a live service game in my life? I started this game at the start of 2022, which was preceeding the worst year of my life, 2021. This game was my escape, it was what I considered a "hidden gem". And it was fun for a bit. The early sumeru stuff was my favorite era. But when Fontaine started making the rounds, I was in a better headspace than when I started, and I tried to keep playing, but kinda found that the game just angered me more often than not. Walls of dialogue from a character that I didn't have the slightest interest in, beating me over the head with lore bombs and other bs, and of course, paimon. It just doesn't do it for me anymore. This game doesn't offer an experience I can't find anywhere else anymore. It just seems so uninspired and soulless compared to something like Kingdom Hearts, while it does have complex and confusing lore, but it's all delivered in such a way I feel this is wholly unique and fun and interesting while genshin is... just meh. In short, this thing was fun for a bit, but honestly, nowadays it just feels like a shallow pretentious cashgrab for me. Maybe i'm wrong, but honestly, I don't care.
Super late to the party. I have been playing Genshin on and off since 1.2, and all that time was spent waiting for Natlan, and eventually Mavuika. I have been dreaming of having this character since day one. So Dehya gets revealed and I thought "Oh, she looks cool,. Let's save for her!", only for her to come out and she is less than stellar. I still persevered and made her as best I could. But it still stung, I saved all those primos, just for a 4.5 star character. Now Mavuika is coming out... and I need Natlan characters to make her above average. So Instead of getting her C2R1, I now have to get Citlali C0 and Mavuika C2. It is just crushing in a way to have these characters you are hyped for, just for them to be "Meh" without either their gimmick known in advance, or a TON of work put into them. I am going to take another break once I get Mavuika, (also so that I can get some rest for my RSI in my thumb). You also nailed it about exploration, but I have rambled enough.
I haven't played for a year. Returned recently dunno why. And after this horrible never-ending fontaine archont quest (I literally was reading, doing exercises, working, cleaning the flat while the game was on where I would click several times from time to time, boring ah), I am actually having fun right now swimming in these flying cubicles and all that.
The thing i hate about the game is farming and endless farming. I can sit through artifacts cause its quick and easy. But farming for 90+ flowers or someshit? Nah. its a different story. same with ascension mats. Its boring going to youtube and searching materials. Its tiring and feels like a chore.
Agreed. I played genshin since day 1 and everyday for about 2 years then suddenly stopped. I was at AR 56. I got back later after 1 year & 6 months but then i dropped it again 😂 it's so predictable.
Lmao this is me. I started playing during 1.1 and dropped it after i leveled up to AR 56. Came back, did Furina's archon quest and quit after i saw Natlan.
Great video man I haven’t played genshin in like idk a year or 2 the game is boring as hell it reached to a point where I would log in everyday to only hurt myself emotionally every time I would log in I would feel depressed as hell at this point I’ve have lost the motivation to play genshin impact all the hours I spent was for nothing so I quit my life feels better as of now. Genshin is a game that will destroy you emotionally well only too me tbh I am never going back to this game. If I do It would only be for hu Tao but even If I did get hu Tao it will be pain all over again if I where to start playing genshin again it would be like jumping into hell or jumping into the greatest nightmare of your god damm life! F this game. At the end of the day genshin impact ruined my life even tho I’m f2p I had so much fun playing genshin impact I had fun memories then it went to hell sorry for this serious comment I just Wanted to tell you and others about my experience with the game. Anyway if anyone is reading this comment thx for reading have a good rest of ur day all.
im still fairly new to the game but im scared ill lose ,my love for it. I only got it originally because i saw a trailer with klee and i thought she was adorable and i got the game (I still dont have klee and mona is my first five star but im happy :D)
If you want some advice from someone that's been playing for 3+ years then try not to rush with completing the game. It is a really long story nowadays with a lot of exploring to do and it will only double as the years progress and more regions come out. Get on for an hour or two a day at most so you want get bored and tired of it.
I installed this game after one year and started playing but after 15 minutes of gameplay i became bored of dialogues too many dialogues which i became bored now i uninstalled it again
I'm agree, one time I want to level up my character but my mora ughhh!!! Why hoyoverse always High Price with one character one million mora for 1 character seriously hoyoverse?? But I'll always layline but rewards is not Worth it
I only play genshin to stack up primos for wriothesley, after that Ill stop. I still enjoy genshin using a dull blade traveler Genshin artifact rng is just frustrating
Its boring as a f2p player for me i just hop on game and just grind for spins like its just a cycle for me, hop on game- grind primo-hop off so yea and ghen spend all of it just to not loose my 50/50 fr...
felt that 2021 and i replayed since few weeks and zzz is still one of my favorite games bcs of the gameplay i suggest make a paus you grinded really to much i made months daily to weekly only the same route to farm items to have everything on mass and these wich i need but i hated the most that you couldnt really lv someone up resin was always to short and a it refilled in less then 24 hrs man i barely had sleep for school . Finished the mondstadt and lyue to fast and stopped playing after i had my ganyu leveld up and played to much with my fav characters . i still feel that exhaustion when i log in from farming like a robot but its so much more to do then back then and with the new update you can even skip days of daily farms an easy get your daily for the seasion
For me, the main reason I don't enjoy genshin as much anymore is that it's very RNG. The percentage is so high and sometimes even unfair. There are so many games I was lucky and for some reason Genshin isn't one of them! I played so many Gacha games to prove that genshin's RNG is unfair and I always get proven right! You either have to pay to win or just suffer your bad luck!
Yes after 3 years genshin just feels boring to play. All I do nowadays is just doing the bare minimum like one event game to complet my daily missions. New characters like chiori doesn't add any new gameplay and arlecchino also seem to be just dps. My only interest now are only the Archon quest and the rest I just leave it be.
I only enter the game when there is an story event (just Lost the rock Inazuma event...hurt a bit but to log in is a hassle Now). Fontaine story was bad in my opinion and my lazyness to enter for a good evento killed my interest (actually i'm more focused playing Nikke, GI gameplay wasnt My fav and Nikke Lore and OST it's cool).
Just like you, i have 18 5 stars characters and i only use neuvillette and zhongli, most of my characters are well build, neuvi is goated, so the game have become so easy and boring for me, btw i’m 29 years and have a job, genshin used to be the fun hours in my day after a long day at work.. not anymore
RIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT when i left on 3.2 and cameback on 4.2 its js still the same i thought so many new things change yet its js the same made me quit after they made chiori worst
Sounds like you need a new goal. Personally I don't limit myself to just a few characters. Yes I have a main, but where I get joy from the game is seeing my characters progress. So what I end up doing is taking several random characters and making some ridiculous builds/teams for them that should never work, and then making it excel. Not sure what region you're on, but if you're on EU, let me know and I can show you an entirely new way to play
that actually sounds kinda fun, i once made a physical build for diluc for a meme and i remember it being really fun. might consider doing something like that next time i log on
@@slidersgamingyt Exaaaactly, so now think ever so slightly bigger. Take that same physical Diluc, add a Lisa with TToDS, add any cryo support and then add a Xianyun. Suddenly you've got a brutal Diluc physical plunge team 👏🏽
Sadly that's still not enough to keep you playing the game. Maybe for a few months but then you will still get burned out. I've built most of the characters that exist in the game and it still wasn't satisfying. Let's just hope that Natlan will bring something new to the table
The game has just become predictable to a fault. You know exactly how everything plays out:
The first few patches of each new region add a new map and the archon quest, after that it's filler events that do nothing but show off mundane things.
Like I get it they don't want us to run out of content very soon by skipping but atleast make world quest skippable
world quest thing is really a problem like its so boring having to skip 2 pages worth dialogues just to get 30 primos💀
Yeah agree but still want to say support stop killing games campaign to prevent games from dying
@@Mc_ventiSunk Cost Fallacy moment.
i’ve been playing since 1.3 genshin was my first open world rpg and gacha game and it even helped me a lot during the pandemic. today however, playing genshin feels more like i’m waiting in traffic; you feel as if you’re moving an inch every hour just waiting for it to pick up the pace. and honestly, after seeing how the developers refuse to add any endgame and fix the resin system im starting to see no point in playing at all. i can quite literally say i’ve beaten the game, every area is 100%, i have all of the characters i want, and i can 36* abyss easily. i know arlecchino is coming out soon too but i just cant feel hyped for her since my other characters can complete the same content just fine
I agree with you. To solve this give the game 2 years and come back when the whole story is finished.
It's probably won't be finished in 2 years since we are only at chapter 1 of the game
@@DANA-so3kr huh? We're at chapter IV currently in archon quests. Natlan snezhnaya and khaenriah left. We don't know if there's anything after tho
@@JibplayzYTin the travail teaser thingy it says (tayvat chapter) so there's probably more than one chapter
@@DANA-so3kr oh dang ur right! Maybe we explore where the traveller comes from after! They did say there were other universes
But... the storytelling sucks.
"Too shy to ask because what are we gonna do? Grind for chores?" I felt that.
For me the fact that every major character gets along with the traveler make things a bit boring. Also the lack of end game content and events are often lackluster.
Well, it’s probably the point of the collectionist oriented gameplay, but yeah, it’s not that realistic and makes characters kinda flat at times
@@OriSpaceCat it makes the character flat not just kinda
All the characters are extremely flat. All just “happy genki girl/boy” “cool and relaxed serious character” or “fun and flirty.” None really go beyond that. Maybe they have a slight personality quirk. They never do anything “wrong” or “gross” or are beyond “morally questionable.” The characters are so rounded, so safe, and really boring, so it makes the story they occupy boring
@@lili_yapswanderer is literally nothing of the above mentioned
@@lili_yaps This is why I hope dottore is playable 🙏🏾
I just uninstalled Genshin last night after 2 and a half years of playing. It was hard at first since I've spent alot of time and money into it but I could no longer pretend being hyped by new characters and regions and I was simply not having fun anymore as a whole so I made a promise to myself that once I got Arlecchino and max bond her, that will be my last goal before I go for good. Now I'm kinda just looking for new games to play while waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds release
Do you still have your acc?
try wuthering waves . If you didn't play MHW you could play that too it's very fun
Try offline AAA games
Why are we like this

There are something’s that need to be addressed about:
I can kinda explain all the 3 things you just said
1. genshin impact is a story game and there would be like no story if you could just skip it because everybody would do it
2. it takes alot of time and money to make that many NPCS so no wonder all of them would look similar
3. if you could max out a character in few days than the game would be so easy
@@JOS1PA Hoyo is a billion dollar company. Surely they can hire a few artists and animators to make new NPC models. Please be serious.
Two, even visual novels and other rpgs and story games have skip buttons. Lame excuse.
@@JOS1PA
I’m sorry but the “it’s a story game” is by far the worst reasoning I’ve ever heard because there’s countless visual novels and visual novel styles gacha games that only have or are mostly story yet they have a skip button.
Wuthering waves has a skip button, honkai impact 3rd which is also a story based gane has a skip button.
You can name any gacha that isn’t HSR and genshin and they have a skip button so genshin being a story game is no excuse
@@JOS1PA
HSR abd zzz have more unique abd memorable npc designs than genshin it doesnt take nearly as long as you think especially when they can just make unique NPCs for relevant places like story quests and stores.
As for your 3rd statement again HSR zzz, and wuwa let you farm whenever you want.
None of any of your points actually make any sense
@@amari7782 now the real question is... Does anyone even read their story💀😭
Star rail is falling into the same problem
And with an extra problem: powercreep
no because i finished exploration and and all quests and now it feels like there's nothing to do because you run out of resin in like 5 second 😭 i kind of fixed the issue because i started really playing tcg and building in my serenitea pot, but there's only so much you can do with the purposfully limited resources you're given, so ig ima wait for 4.6 but i really wish the game still felt like how it did when i first began playing
"Finally i can touch some grass"
Yea, i hate farming so much after playing genshin for 1k hours, i hate dailies, i hate grinding, i feel bored of exploration. I dont think i could play any other games bcs of that 😂
FACTS 🗣️💯
I can't stand that nonsense.
Playing gacha “games” makes me miss and appreciate more actual games like Skyrim.
Just play real games then 🤷♂Dozens of sales for really good single player games like Skyrim, Witcher, Cyberpunk, RDR2, GTA 5, Yakuza 0, etc.
But you just run around and walk.
only took 6 months for dawg to fold and play again 😭
kinda true i also bought hu tao outfit, but its boring again now :(
I think this is a good lesson that it's just good to let go. (And often a lot better.)
Good luck to you all out there.
You have M1s, you have a skill that does X and Y, you have your burst that you'll click every few seconds, understand that hoyo's expertise is selling vanity, you'll buy it and use it as fuel to endure their awful design because it just works, and being aware of it isn't enough to snap you out when you're just starting.
how on EARTH do u have c6r5 for TWO characters?? u MUST have whaled
For me it's mainly 2 reasons
1. The exploration got stale, especially in Fontane
2. You still need to grind even if you just want to use a new character in exploration
Same man. Got bored af with it. Some of the missions feel like a job and not fun
Been playing since October 2020, just recently stopped. For me because:
- This game doesn't feel fun
- Grindfest simulator
- The world is massive, yes. But it feels so lifeless, barely interaction with the people/NPCs (except enemies)
- Story is so "information overload", bloated dialogue.
+ affecting my studies, making me stress,
Im a med student, i always liked playing.
I uninstalled it :/
I been feeling like it’s just a job/chore for most of the HoYo games lately too.
The no friends part hits right home
I have good chunk of uids in my friendlist tab but neadly all have the last online 30 days ago on their profile 😅
Quick, fast, and straight to the point. I like it.
Most games don't last nearly as much as this one did to me. I just dropped it for the second time now. I'm no longer interested in anything but the story by this point, Fontaine's archon quest was brilliant, so I'm going to wait at least for Natlan (complete archon quest) to arrive and maybe I'll return, otherwise I have no motivation to keep playing.
now that it's out, I'm curious what you think of it if u have played it!! :o
Coming from a veteran who left the game for 2 years after Inazuma and come back for Arlechino,
This video accurately portrays what I felt before leaving the game, I got all the characters that I wanted after starting the game, after getting them the game started to feel bore.
1:03 the point of grinding?for me is to 36 star the abyss, but when u reach 36 star, yeah you just grind for new character or your existing character to make them even more stronger, and do nuke showcase or speedrunning.
i meant the game overall felt too easy, exploring fontaine didnt feel likr a challenge with hu tao
Exploration is not supposed to be hard, the hardest content is Floor 12 in Spiral Abyss
It’s so lame and i feel like i want to quit playing it ugh feels like i hate every second of it
Your account is living my dream
Took yall years to figure it out I been 3 years at least done
I play Honkai star rail, now and I’m having more fun
my thoughts exactly
i always worry about running out of exploration tbf cuz i love it
so im usually slacking a bit on quests nowadays so i can have a vacation from my other game with some comfy exploring :3
I just came back, and I'm feeling it too. Also, it just requires so much of my time bro I'm gonna be a dad soon, and I don't think genshin is gonna help
Are you still playing genshin?
@@3lackSwordsman no lol
@CinematicSoulQuest are you playing any games in general? Or your too busy to play?
Uninstall the game or delete your account, I quit genshin and never coming back, feels way better.
The game is just all about the devs getting money while we suffer...
Broo I 100% agree with you.. Genshin isn't fun to me anymore 🥲 feels like I'm stuck in a chore.. I miss the early days in genshin
For now, i have decided to play paid games that actually letting me to enjoy and needless to worry about virtual currency😢
Two words why I left genshin
“toxic shippers”
Bro I've reached that point not even having explored Mondstadt fully :D
I really cant understand why Mihoyo with the gatcha market in its hands has chose to let genshin impact dying and make less money of what actually they could for no reason.
I played Genshin when Sumeru was released. I suddenly quit the game when I was doing the Fontaine Archon Quest.
Fontaine's design and story made me stay the game but meh.
What I find pretty appealing to the game was it's character designs and the music 👌
It's just this game takes long and very repetitive you'll be bored real sooner 😐
Play wuthering waves, the combat is better, the movement is better, and you can use monsters like pokemon :D
literally just got into that game last week, its really fun and a breath of fresh air for gatcha!
@@slidersgamingyt frfr
How is the game going for you guys 6 months later?
@@Darnlol still going great, excited for Charlotta
I haven't played for a year. Returned recently dunno why. And after this horrible never-ending fontaine archont quest (I literally was reading, doing exercises, working, cleaning the flat while the game was on where I would click several times from time to time, boring ah), I am actually having fun right now swimming in these flying cubicles and all that.
I just didn't play the game for 2 days because "sick" the TH-cam suggestions be like watch this 😅🙌🏻
I think you should swing by for new character quests and main events of the ongoing patch, at least, that will keep you occupied for a while.
I just start to play and Im having a blast 😢
After neuviletee it is so hard to build my characters like its not worth if I already have so many of them.
At the end of the day genshin impact ruined my life even tho I’m f2p I had so much fun playing genshin impact I had fun memories then it went to hell sorry for this serious comment I just
Wanted to tell you and others about my experience with the game.
Anyway if anyone is reading this comment thx for reading have a good rest of ur day all.
That is why it is Boring, repeated Content. While Draining your money
This happened to me and I quit for 2 years. Come back and there’s a lot of content to do and I’m having fun
im still fairly new to the game but im scared ill lose ,my love for it.
It’s a good game, but it isn’t really worth investing in at this point.
I still enjoy genshin using a dull blade traveler
Genshin artifact rng is just frustrating
I’ve been playing since patch 1.1 and I’m not bored.
Am I the abnormal one?
It was released on 28 September 2020 version 1.1 to 4.8 in 2024 July storage 35GB now in few years 100 to 200GB I won't be able to play anymore 😢😢😢
And you only get 5 priming’s a day it feels like 😭
I just started playing it but I also play Honkai Starrail, Codm, and other games so I don't burn out playing the same crap
Just like you, i have 18 5 stars characters and i only use neuvillette and zhongli, most of my characters are well build, neuvi is goated, so the game have become so easy and boring for me, btw i’m 29 years and have a job, genshin used to be the fun hours in my day after a long day at work.. not anymore
SAME BRoooo literallysamee thoughts
@@slidersgamingyt Just did the showcase and it kinda goes hard xD You should try it out yourself
Sadly that's still not enough to keep you playing the game. Maybe for a few months but then you will still get burned out. I've built most of the characters that exist in the game and it still wasn't satisfying. Let's just hope that Natlan will bring something new to the table
