More touring and sightseeing in this one, not as much 4wding but hopefully you still enjoy :). In part two we take on Mt Pinnibar and Mt Gibbo which has some amazing tracks, 4wding and views!
Tyler and Kai, you're in my backyard, I grew up in the Brindabella Valley (live in Melbourne these days). I know you did Mc Intyre's Hut and Mt Coree a couple of years ago and it is great you're back in the area. Did you notice that walking up to the caves you followed a dry creek bed, and when you walked back the river magically appears in front of you. The reason the water is so cold (even in summer) is because the water literary comes up from below the ground through a series of pools to create an instant river. Next time you visit I highly recommend following the river down stream for just 2kms to the waterfall. The water is rich in minerals and as you follow this most amazing purple coloured (in the right light) gorge closes in on you and the deeper water has this light blue hue as the sun reflects off the minerals in the water. When you get to the waterfall, you approach from the top, be sure, if the water is not to high, to sit in the small pool located just as the water goes over the cliff. It's like being in a freezing spa pool! When you stayed at Mc Intyre's hut the water from the Blue water Holes is a main tributary to the Goodradigbee River which runs past the hut and Flee Creek were you have also been. Did you stop at Coolaman Homestead? It is on the track from the Long Plain Rd to the Blue Water Holes. The first time I visited the homestead in 1971 it still had some of its original furniture and the walls were lined with newspaper dating back nearly a 100 years. The horses have always been in Kosciusko but it is only in the past 15 years or so the numbers have gone through the roof. National Parks needs to stop limiting human access and focus on eradicating this feral animal that is destroying this fragile landscape. Yarrangobilly pool is not real warm in the summer months but as kids we would swim in it with a foot of snow all the way around the pool. First time I crossed at Tom Groggin I had just turned seventeen, with my first serious girlfriend. It was in winter and we floated 30 meters down stream in a Suzuki serria. The old girl filled up with water, sank, luckily it got traction and we finally made it out. Everything was wet, clothes, food and sleeping gear. We were with a 4WD club (all mums & dads) and lived the next few days in old peoples jocks and socks. Not as much romance as I had hoped for that trip, ah the memories. Can't wait for your next video.
Hey mate, thanks for all the information! You definitely live in a beautiful part of Australia! Next time we will go check out the waterfall for sure, will camp there so we can check out the place a bit more. We saw the Coolaman Homestead but didn't stop so will have to do that next time too :) Wow that would have been interesting river crossing haha, every time we have been there its been relative shallow Thanks for watching mate
I think that the way you show people on the map where you are going, is a good feature of your videos as it gives perspective to what we are watching. Also your explanation of where you are during the video is great. Thanks for another interesting video...
Mate another tops video. Camera work and cometary is excellent. All the information all the directions and short, simple and clear. The little fella is so funny. Keep on exploring
Awesome vid mate. I did long Plain Rd last year. Camped at Coolamon Mountain. Beautiful out that way. I’m itching to get back to the High Country again and this is great inspo for planning the next trip.👍
Another great video mate, all the campsites looked great. the first one looked really good. we are lucky to have some great country to explore. thanks for sharing your adventures.
Loved the video as well as how you show where you are planning on going and the rds etc. You have a great style of storytelling and it is impressive how u take the kids along. Please keep the videos up!!!
Great video mate. Great role model for Kai too mate as he gets to see more of the country. You had Kai when you had the opportunity to take his horse with your castle mate 😉
Top stuff again from the Thompson crew showing some of the great out back, that Australia has to offer. Awesome locations and fantastic views that are not spoiled by poor production, Two thumbs up. :)
Another awesome video, your videos are getting more descriptive and informative of everything your doing on the trips! Really helps inspire trips from myself. Good job dude
Your videos just get better and better mate!! Great work. Geehi is an amazing place - shame about the crowds. We were there in January and managed a beautiful camp right on the river away from everyone else. Looking forward to part 2.
Great video! Come back to Geehi in the winter mate, we were there over the June long weekend and only saw 1 other group the entire time. Snow on the mountains is the cherry on top too 👌
Thanks mate, yep definitely keen to get down that way in the winter months! Would be super cool. We just always end up heading north QLD way where its warmer haha
Another great Vid Tyler, I don't know how you can get into that freezing water, love your sons comments, he is becoming very confident in front of the camera
Yeah I did hear about that part of the track and was planning on doing it but missed it haha didn't seem worth going back just to do it, hopefully next time

mate how good was the weather over Easter ! we also hit Kosciusko over easter and setup camp at Blue Water Holes (5 nights) as a base and loved it, can't wait to go back and explore more. Great vids, keep em coming !

A lot of the time I set out on trips I don't have much idea where we are going/what we are doing haha thats why I just go myself, too hard trying to organise with others when I don't even know what I'm doing

@@LandTourier They are a great camera mate and you I can't imagine you would regret it.
