  • Our first camping trip to the snow! We hit sub zero temperatures and go skiing and snowboarding in the Mount Kosciusko National Park, but it's not the first place that comes to mind when you think snow fields in Australia. After reopening for the first season in 2 years, since the aftermath of bushfires, Selwyn Snow Resort is a real hidden gem for families who want to experience the snow and skiing without the massive lines and costs associated with hitting the more commonly known ski fields in Australia. We find some picturesque free camps in the Mount Kosciusko National Park and visit stunning landmarks, such as Blowering Dam, Yarrangobilly Caves and the natural thermal pool - yes, we take a dip in freezing temperatures! If you're planning a camp trip to the snow, we hope this gives you some inspiration.

    So glad to see Selwyn recover after the fire. Such a great family friendly resort and a place I took my kids for over 10 years before the fire.
    The Snow Goose Hotel at Adaminaby is bloody awesome too 😊
    Another great episode guys. Brings back lots of fond memories for me

    I use Water Shield on my paddock shoes around the horses. It lasts about 3mths until the soles begin to part ways from the uppers. Then it is time to get the big gun glue to glue them all back together again. Then I redo the Water Shield once the glue is fully cured.
    I'm almost 68 and I've never seen snow either so the kids are well ahead of me. I'm sure I will pick up skiing really fast but I need to get to a snow place first!
    I picked up skating at a skate rink within minutes.
    Glad you guys had a great time. Skiing can be such an amazing family fun outing if you can keep the costs under control. Making your own lunch is a big help and far better than eating all that crap fried foods.
    I would have had to wear something over my nose and mouth as well to protect the rest of my face as well.

    You all picked up skiing and snow boarding really well. With me, I usually become a snow ball until I crash. 🤪 And going for that swim was very brave, LOL. 🥶 I reckon they should start racing cars with caravans at Mt Panorama. A great episode. 🙂

    Great videos guys.
    Question about the Uev-14. Wondering how you find packing up the van in the rain/ wet with the collapsible back window? Any problems keeping your bed dry?

      Thanks for watching Mate. We have found it not to be a big problem, occasionally you have to wipe it down with a towel before packing away.

    Years ago I took curried sausages into work for lunch and my Indian friend got really upset and said there's no such thing as curried sausages and refused to look at my plate.

    Why didn’t you use the existing fire mark that was a metre away from yours . Doing this only creates heaps of scorched spots in the camp ground. I know it was more convenient and close to the concrete pad, that’s no excuse

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There was a scorched mark right there actually.
