Scream 6 Movie Description:
Plot. One year after the Woodsboro killings orchestrated by Richie Kirsch and Amber Freeman, Blackmore University professor Laura Crane is catfished by her student Jason Carvey, who lures her outside a bar in New York City and murders her while wearing a Ghostface costume.
Scream VI is a 2023 American slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. It is the sequel to Scream (2022) and the sixth installment in the Scream film series. The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, all reprising their roles from previous installments, alongside Josh Segarra, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Henry Czerny, and Dermot Mulroney joining the ensemble cast. Scream VI follows a new Ghostface killer who targets the survivors of the "Woodsboro legacy attacks" in New York City.
A sixth Scream film was announced just weeks after the successful debut of Scream (2022), with much of the cast signing on to reprise their roles alongside Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett's return. Filming took place in Montreal, Canada, from June to late August 2022. Neve Campbell did not reprise her role as Sidney Prescott, making this the first Scream film not to feature her. Brian Tyler composed the film's score with Sven Faulconer also co-scoring the film.
Scream VI premiered at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in Manhattan on March 6, 2023, and was theatrically released in the United States on March 10 by Paramount Pictures. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed over $168 million worldwide. It became the first installment in the franchise to gross $100 million at the domestic US box office since Scream 2 (1997) and is the highest-grossing Scream film in the United States and Canada (in unadjusted dollars).

That's why he got so uncomfortable when she said her father was the famous serial killer Billy Loomis, and that they made a movie about him. This one honestly became my new favorite. I haven’t been on the edge of my seat in a Scream movie and they made you nervous for the characters in this movie. Like the bodega and train scenes. I will say it’s interesting the Billy and Sam scenes, knowing Billy is just Sams mind.

Scream 6 was really good very impressive for a 6th movie and even tho the third act is familiar with killers being related to a previous killer they switched it up and made it a family instead of it being just one member. New York gave us great chase/tense sequences, some gory kills with 3-4 standouts, ghostface was at his scariest like I was jumping screaming sm throughout this movie, cast was great like Sam really sold me in this movie cause she didn’t in 5, the core 4 I love them all Chad was another standout he truly cemented his status as the new Dewey, the killers were better than the ones in 5 cause I couldn’t stand every moment of them talking but in 6 they were alright quinn was the standout cause I didn’t guess her as the killer but Ethan and the cop I did plus she gave a serious performance, a very creative opening which is what I’ve been begging for I like all these openings but only scream 2 tried doing something completely different it’s very creative 3,4,5 are all house openings that try to mimic the original but none of were on that level of gore or scary. Only issues with the movie are some plot holes, some cringe acting in the third act, injuries are not taken seriously anymore especially with Mindy/Chad like Mindy during the apartment sequence got one cut acting like it’s the same level of wound that Anika had like even she got knocked out in scream 5 from one stab to the shoulder then there’s Chad who got stabbed like 16 times idk how tf he survived, and the plot armor is 50/50 cause on one hand I don’t want these characters to die I’m happy we get to see them again but on the other hand if they truly wanted to homage scream 2 Mindy was the one to die since she is the randy and he got killed in a public area which Mindy could’ve been the same fate on the train but nope.
Loved everything until the reveal it just got too goofy after that in my opinion

This was my favorite sequel. Tara & Chad were so freaking cute and Liana's performance as Quinn pre reveal and post reveal, I LOVED IT and her nods to IKWYDLS and NOES. I saw that girl in Dig and she gave me Baby Firefly vibes so much. Then I saw Liana cast as Quinn in Scream 6, and I was HOPING she would be a killer because she plays such a great villain in any movie plus she's cute af. She was also very intelligent if you think about it. Got the whole world to believe that Sam was the villain of Woodsboro. Almost as smart as Jill and imo, the craziest Kirsch. Fun fact: Dermot's daughter in Insidious Chapter 3 was also named Quinn. Not sure if Scream 6 is a callback to that or not lol. Just a fun find.
Also, pretty sure Tara was the one who called Detective Bailey at the end, a nod to her failed phone call from the end of Scream 5. I'm excited to see Scream 7 and I can't wait to see more of the Chad/Tara romance. They were adorable as fuck and I just love Chad as a character and the growth.
5 felt like it was just a rehash of the first and 4th movies lmao. To me 5 was lackluster and lacked so much character development where 6 felt like it succeeded where the other sequels failed in.
Too many survivors...stupid ending...dumb decisions in the direction and score department. But it was still a good movie. I liked it much more than S5 that is for sure. If only Kevin Williamson would be the writer again.

You were acting like it was the whole movie that was bad. When it was just a few parts. I agree with this point though. But I think the twist of this one was that everyone survived. I think Scream 7 will be a twist in the sense that almost everyone other than 3 or 4 characters including legacy characters will survive.

Sam’s bf mentions VERY briefly in the end that Gale is recovering in hospital. But it’s so brief many people missed it on first viewing and let out the “spoiler” online that she “died”. It wasn’t until people went for a second viewing that that rumour was cleared up

For all the violence I thought it was pretty weak they didn't actually kill-off any of the main characters, plot armor was too strong for everyone. The twist was underwhelming as well, rehashing of an old storyline, ehh whatever still a good entry in the series with lots of eye candy. 🤷♂

I feel you sooo much with the underwhelming reveal. I wanted it to be Stu so bad, but I also knew it couldn't be, because then Sidney would have to be in this movie too. There's no way he would target some random girls if Sid is still alive!

At the killer reveal he appears and tells everyone this has all been his plan
He found out sam is billy's daughter and did all this to try and get her to snap and turn into ghostface, either by making her "accept who she is" or by making her crazy enough to let billy take controll and bring the original killer duo again
How would this come to happen? The 2 ghosties are his kids instead of the cop's and he lets sam kill them and asks her how good it felt (it would also show just how crazy he is)
The 7th movie would be the final scream movie, sid and tara would join to try and take down stu and sam/billy, at the end sam becomes sam again after almost killing tara and fights stu, she kills him once and for all but due to her injuries she also dies
In this final movie tara would be something like sidney, kirby would be dewy and sidney would be something like gale (by this i mean sid would be a big support character, not a journalist or a bitchy character like gale)
Yes i know the mystery of not knowing who the killer is would be gone, but there could be a way in this one and or the 7th one to throw people away and making them believe sam and stu are not the killers

I think it's Tara that becomes Ghostface. Not sure why or what drives her to snap, just that she does.
My reasoning: the way she smiled and took her time, when stabbing Ethan, suggests that she REALLY enjoyed it - she savored it; SCREAM 2022 (5CREAM) is an homage to SCREAM (1996) with the primary mastermind being the love interest, and SCREAM VI is an homage to SCREAM 2 with the primary mastermind being a parent of the last mastermind killer. SO, wouldn't it reason for SC7EAM to be an homage to SCR3AM? WELL, in SCR3AM the killer was the half-sibling (Sidney's half-brother, Roman Bridger) of the main final girl of the franchise. Sam IS THAT MAIN FINAL GIRL, not Tara. TARA... IS the HALF-SIBLING of Sam.
But who's left now? It has to be someone in the group or just a new person with some slight connection to the group. Maybe a new psychologist that tries to convince Sam she's the one who's doing it while it's the dr? Maybe the next one will be solely trying to convince everyone Sam is the killer, trailers, advertisements etc. These movies are made well, just the "who done it" turns out to be a slight stretch at this point.

I really liked that whole entire scene on the Subway Train.
I think that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (they directed "Scream VI") did a Great Job filming it and putting it together.
