- I've summarized some key learnings and tips from my first six months with the Thunder Laser BOLT laser engraving machine. And I also provide my honest view of the laser after 6 months of use, across numerous types of materials. I hope it is helpful. Cheers!

YOU paid for this laser and didn't receive it for free like other so-called reviewers...that speaks volumes for your credibility! Keep up the great work.
🙂
One thing that I was pointed to and what I’ve started doing for acrylic is putting a thin layer of liquid dish soap on the acrylic. It captures the engraving residue and protects the edges during cutting.
Thanks ! I have seen that on TH-cam. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for your GREAT AND INFORMATIVE video's I have purchased a Bolt and your video's have helped Immensely! THANK YOU!!
The Bolt is on my short list of possible CO2's...how are you cutting experiences? Do you cut any 1/4" wood...speed?
@@1-Nice-Guy Hey Nice Guy - I answered your question on the other comment. Hope it helps you. Cheers!

Great video! I love my Bolt also.. Keep up the great work my friend!

Sounds like you're really sold on the Thunder Laser BOLT machine. Sure turning out some great looking products with it. Thanks for all the sharing you do with everyone Gord, stay safe and keep up the good work and videos. Fred.
Cheers and thanks for your support Fred!
Great info in this video Gord loved it!
Thanks Robert!
I’m glad I made the right choice when purchased my Bolt. Your videos have been very helpful. I think our machines may have been shipped together because I got mine at the same time. I’ve been using my camera since day one and I couldn’t imagine not using it. I do need to purchase more lenses. I let my daughter clean them because I have butter fingers!😂 The mirror alignment looks a little confusing but I will figure it out. The 3M adhesive is my favorite but you’re right, you have one chance to get it right.
Hey Janine - thanks for keeping on top of me. The included Camera feature is more important than I initially thought. Sooo helpful! All the best to you, your daughter and your family!
You always have great information. Thanks
Good morning Vera!
awesome video!! thanks for this
Hi. Another great video with very useful information. I know there are videos regarding cleaning and upkeep for the Bolt, but I was wondering if you might put together a video on your cleaning routine? I relate to how you approach things with your videos so a maintenance video done by you would be right up my alley. I am still in the early stages of becoming familiar with the Bolt but so far I love it.
Morning and thanks Sharon! I thought about it a few times and will do one probably in the next two weeks or so. Cheers and thanks for watching and for the comment!
Morning Sharon - I think I am getting old LOL. There is a video on my homepage I did (#024) called Is Your Bolt Losing Power that outlines my cleaning routine. Check that out and let me know if that was what you are looking for. Cheers!
Good morning, Gord. Well that means that I, too, am getting old because I’ve watched every one of your videos. I watched most of them before my Bolt arrived. I will watch #024 again. Thanks for pointing that out. Of course I should probably rewatch all of them!!! I appreciate your follow up kind sir.
one of my favorite things on the bolt is that if you send a file across with the wrong settings you can just go back into the file on the touch screen and change the speed or power and then run it again, you don't need to resend a whole new file! great video also love your work!
Thanks - Have a great week!
Won't be long till there is a laser attachment for the 2610....
Remember crosshatching on a gantry type laser is Not Recommended per Thunder Laser
Hey thanks Robert - I was not aware of that - did they tell you why? Thanks
Gantry lasers are engineered for rapid x motion not rapid y motion. Assuming you’re engraving a flat surface. Using a rotary is a different story.
Great video. Waiting on my Bolt 32 Pro.
Congrats on the new BOLT!
My only "concern" with the Bolt is cutting 1/4" (6mm) wood, it seems like you're pretty limited to 8mm/sec for 1-pass cutting w/ 2.0" lens (according to the Thunder Laser channel's recent cut test). What are your experiences with cutting 1/4" wood?
Good morning - I have only cut 1/4" baltic Birch, Maple and Cherry plywood (top grade). I need to use the 2.5" lens to cut it - if I cut in the lower right hand side, I need to cut it twice but elsewhere it will usually get through clean with 1 pass. It does provide a clean cut but i do clean the black off the cut afterwards. I can't see my settings from where I am but it is at a low speed ( 5- 8 mm sounds right) and probably 90% power, I think. Hope that helps.
