I probably sound like a broken record, Gord, but yet another instructive and great video. Your coffee sign is very nice and you should hang it with pride. You are really chugging along on your Bolt journey and thanks for sharing. I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. It’s great to see your creativity at work! Now I want a cup of coffee.😁 Take care!
LOL! Thanks for your kind comments Sharon. I hope you are doing great with yours too! I am feeling the pinch a bit of wanting a larger bed size...LOL.. in time I think.:)) 🙂
I'm a new Bolt user as well and one thing I've found when cutting mdf is that a lot of gunk will build up on the the focus probe (and air nozzle). If it's not cleaned quite often it'll leave a mark on the material when you autofocus. And I found this out the hard way!
Another nice sign Gord, that craft plywood looks good and stable to work with, your going to make scroll saws a thing of the past - good on you. Cheers and take care
That's an awesome sign you made for your coffee drinking crew up there. Really turned out fantastic. Thanks for sharing with us Gord, your videos are really interesting to watch, stay safe and keep having fun with your family. Fred.
You may already know this. If you want to reduce the charring on the edges while cutting, low power, increase the speed and increase the number of passes the laser makes on your cut path. Love the content. Getting ready to get a Thunder Bolt myself. Just making room in the garage.
Good morning Gord.. I have nothing to add to your knowledge base.. hahaha I am here in gaze at your wonderful work you are creating.. Very impressive indeed.. Thanks for sharing all your new adventures with us.. Cheers my friend PS I would be your NUG if I was there.😉
LOL! Good afternoon Gus! Thanks - I imagine I would probably be yours :)) Hope you are all doing great - I imagine you will be up at the trailer soon. :))
I did a video on where to find it on Thunder Laser USA and how to load it - the video is on my homepage - here : th-cam.com/video/F3Yq0HJ_TF0/w-d-xo.html. I have since added my own settings and new materials to it ( so much better than writing them in a notebook). if you want my current version of settings I am happy to email it to you - just email me and i will send it . Cheers!
Two questions if I may. What is a Nug? 😅 and do you feel limited in space with the Bolt? I am considering purchasing the Bolt but not sure if the 12x20 is a restriction for things you make and sell.
Good day.NUG stands for New Useless Guy ( an old joke here but...:)). Yes - I do sometimes - as you get familiar with it you start to try more and more things and you find you want to go bigger but being my first laser, I made a list of potential or desired products I wanted to make, at least for the near and mid term and that drove my decision on bed size. I understand the new BOLT Plus has a little larger bed size. Best of luck!
Hello, i'm having a hard time finding a good 1/4" craft plywood. My searches come up with so many choices and I'm not sure if they are the same. Birch, basswood, balsa, etc. Any chance you can let me know what kind exactly you got?
Morning Jason. I get my craft plywood from KJP Select Hardwoods In Nepean ( Ontario). Excellent quality so far and I believe you can get it with several different veneers on it. If I am using plywood, I usually get the Baltic Birch - much more consistent plys etc. Hope that helps - All the best!

Good morning and thanks! I will clean it up this morning before the day's work starts. Cheers!

Turned out great, Gord. Love the color palate. 👍
Cheers Chris!
Great looking sign Gord.
Thanks Brian!
Nice sign, thank you. Star bond black is what I used in my dining table with black epoxy. I think they make a brown color too.
Thanks for a great video. Question for you. Where did you get the "Library"... was it something you created?
