Trotec is definitely worth a look. They develop all core components of their laser engravers, cutters and marking machines including drive systems, machine components, controls, electronics, electrics and software. The laser is produced by Trotec's sister company, Iradion Laser. Trotec's production sites and manufacturing lines in Austria, Germany, USA and China are organized based on the automotive industry manufacturing model for better efficiency and cost savings. Standard industrial components like motors, power supplies and touch displays are sources from Siemens, Beckhoff or TDK-Lambda for the highest quality standards. Their machines look impressive. Would love to see some cost estimates.
I bet you end up with an AEON… you could also consider the AEON that has both a RF and Glass tube, in the same machine, giving you the best of cutting and engraving. The Pre Redline name was a Super Nova. Lightburn supports doing a job with the ability to run both (either tube) on the same project. Great Video your work helps people in ways you may not even know. I'm in decision mode as well. I currently have an XTOOL D1 20W. Seems you've made a decision already. You said to the AEON rep, "looking forward to working with you in the future". I like AEON and THUNDER myself. Leaning towards THUNDER.
I bought a Trotec speedy 100 ten years ago and not a thing has gone wrong with it , have since bought a speedy 400 120 watt and what a machine, there service is also very good.

Liked this video. I have a DIY C02 laser. The hardest part using it has been temperature (too hot in the garage) and fume extraction. I can exhaust the laser out the garage or window but then my neighbors will get it. I have been looking at filters to remove most of the odor. Hope you get your laser soom.
We are getting closer to get a CO2 laser. We did convert part of our garage to a "laser room" with AC as we vent out the door. We've only done this with our diode lasers so far and no ones complained....that we know of.

Based on this video, Aeon and the new Redline Series were the winners with a very tight second going to Thunder Laser followed by Epilog and Trotek. All are excellent choices, and all have their own good points and imperfections. These are companies that are listening to their customers and making major changes to their infrastructure and product lines to more align with the needs of their customers. Thank you for sharing.

Epilog seems like they've become too big for their britches. Maybe it's me, but it seems like they know they're on top and don't care anymore. That's a dangerous attitude with innovations, similar features, and better pricing coming from Aeon, Trotec, Thunder, and even xTool. Almost pulled the trigger on Epilog, but now I probably won't go that direction.

If you want clean level sharp cuts, needle precision detailed engraved graphics, consistency, accuracy, and reliability get a Trotec or Epilog. When it comes to an RF and Tube its not geared towards engraving and cutting its about consistent power when you need it with zero fluctuations, instant on and off power spot on. All that blabber about having a glass to cut better is BS and marketing to sell those cheaper machines. I was getting better results with a 60W RF laser Epilog cutting and engraving than what I was getting with a 90W glass tube laser. If you can afford an RF machine 100% make that investment, now I just need to save to get one again and not depend on a flousy work partner.
ok here come the OGs tryin to justify not upgrading. bro your 20 year old Epliog was the fashiznit back in the day but tech changes every day. you should try the new ones side by side and see for yoself
@admtim Does not matter, the RF tube's are designed completely different and way power is sent to it. Glass tube's power comes in waves whereas RF tube's are direct constant watts. It's kinda like a direct drive steering wheel compared to a belt driven system. An Epilog Legend built in 2006 will destroy any modern glass tube laser. I've worked with both even a glass tube that's barely 4yrs old and never able to produce the quality an RF laser can. I'm a graphic designer also and can fine tweak files without using filters to get them engraved right. No matter what the glass tube will never get fine detail. An RF can even get font sizes that's 2-3pt down on wood and still be readable
We visited AEON’s showroom and tested the same designs on their machines with competitor models from Trotec, Epilog, OMTech and Boss. The results sold us on AEON. Our 100w glass tube is doing an excellent job cutting and engraving to a quality we are pleased with.

Yea I was considering Aeon but the leadtimes are prohibitive for a fast moving business.

I got Epilog taste with an Omtech budget! What's the best compromise
LMAO Aeon or Thunder are EXCELLENT alternatives at a much more affordable price.

We went to Aeon's showroom in our hometown and saw all the top CO2 machines in one building. It was cool and enlighting. Aeon for us all the way!
