      How can I buy the load charts ? Or what’s the name I need to type so it can come up?

    These videos are so helpful. Please keep making more! I'd like to see illustrations for signaling/rigging too. I'm definitely a visual learner, so breaking all this down is nice of you to do. Thanks a lot!!

      Great. I'm glad they are helpful. I'm currently working 7 days a week and not much time to make any additions at this time. Things may slow down over the winter and I can get back in the video making mode.

    I'm not understanding the wire rope calculations but I do understand boom and jib

      David . . . Watch some of the other videos. There are seven videos walking through the solution to problems, step by step. Generally, the wire rope deduction for the manitowoc LBC, for the CCO exam is straight forward and a little easier than for the Grove, American, and Link Belt exams. for the Manitowoc all wire rope hanging below the boom tip/jib tip is deducted. For example if a pick is being made off the main boom with four parts line, and there is also 10 feet of line, single part hanging below the jib all of that rope is a deduction. The distance below the main, or jib if picking off the jib, is found in a column in the load chart. The column is titled "boom point elev. in feet." The formula for calculating wire rope deduction weight is "parts of line x weight of line x length of line." For the Manitowoc LBC the weight of rope is 2 lbs. per ft. So if there are 6 parts of line and the boom tip elevation (tip height) is 140 feet the wire rope deduction weight is (6 x 2 x 140), which equals 1,680 pounds. Hope this helps. I do encourage you to take a look at the other videos. I think if you watch those it will become more clear.

    On step 8 on the equation why did the gross capacity changed to NC and also why did chart number and line equation changed on step 8?

      This is just a general overview for illustrating the process. For more detailed examples of the process I suggest you watch the other Manitowoc videos. After you watch the other videos let me know if you have questions.

    Does manitowoc deduct all block lines below boom point,,or just one not required for lift as grove does,on the test?

    • @LoadChartLab
      @LoadChartLab  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Manitowoc makes it easy. All parts line are deducted, based on tip to ground distance. Tip to ground distance found in chart. 6 parts line, 150 feet tip to ground (round to nearest whole number), 2 lbs. per foot equals a deduction of 1800 lbs. Also must deduct the amount of line hanging off a jib, if not making pick off jib. 1 part hanging 10 feet, @ 2 lbs. per foot would be a 20 lb. deduction.

      Hello Mariano. I just noticed your comment. I apologize for not responding sooner. My real job has been pretty crazy the last month or so. The best way to reach me is by email dem@loadchartlab.com. If you send questions to that email I will see them immediately. As far as your current question is concerned I'm not sure what you're asking. With the Manitowoc LBC the deductions from the chart capacity will be the weight of wire rope, jib if it's erected but not being used to make the lift, block/ball, and rigging. For this crane, on this test there is no deduction for the "upper boom point." I suggest, if you haven't already, you check out the other videos that cover specific examples of the types of questions you may see on the CCO exam.

    So if you don’t have to consult the range diagram on wire rope calculation, how would you get your tip height?

    • @LoadChartLab
      @LoadChartLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is in the Manitowoc chart.

      Watch some of the Manitowoc problem videos. The process is clearly illustrated.

    Do you have anything on the truck crane or is it the same as the crawler crane ??

    • @LoadChartLab
      @LoadChartLab  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      donnie Burr the process is the same for the Manitowoc LBT. There are some differences for deductions--for example there is a deduction for the upper boom point (1000 lbs) and auxiliary drum (1700 lbs). Download the charts from CCO web site and take a look. Pay attention to load chart notes--they will identify any other differences.

      Also there are some different configurations for counterweight which is not a concern for the LBC
