Since my dms and comments are exploding with questions related to IISER, I decided to make a separate video on all your questions. So drop all your q's here or dm me on instagram and if there are enough unanswered questions, I'll make a video!
Just discovered this channel and it wants me to make me cry and smile for what I have been selected to. I am a second year student but haven't seen the campus yet. Your vlogs are really amazing. Please make more of them. It helps us to cry here peacefully. 😶
Arreyyy, I can feel you. I missed my last year at IISER, the one year I wanted to spend in IISER completely. But that's part of life. I hope you get to go soon. They're calling people back slowly.
hi didi , great vlog! keep up with the good work . i was wondering , how many total hours of classes do we have to attend in iisers in a day , and what is the number of hours on a weekly basis . can u plz tell?
Hello I got alloted to IISERP and I gave NEET too and ig I'll be getting an avg mbbs college .I'm in confusion between bsms and mbbs . Being a senior what do you suggest ? Plz help me I'm in dilemma!
Disclaimer: this might get a little serious and demotivating but that's the reality and I want you to know that before you begin your journey. I'm not very aware about a career in mbbs but since I'm a science graduate and my best friends are doing mbbs, I feel like I can give you some bits from my experience. Go for the one that you really really want to do. Both the fields are incredibly hard, which will tap more on your motivation and mental stamina than anything else. If you go into either of these without a dream to become a doctor/scientist at the end of it, then you will be at loss. Having said that, having an mbbs degree will ensure a secured life on a long term (if you put in that much work) while the field of science is a bit (read: very) uncertain. On the other hand, having a science degree will keep multiple career options open, unlike mbbs. So, both of them have their pros and cons. I'd suggest do only what you absolutely want to do. Lastly, if you don't think you are sure about either of both, then don't do either.
@@dishathere5163 thank you so much !! The things you said actually motivated me and the foresight you have is actually great .Never thought of things this way .tysm again 🤍
Didi, I'm a dropper for neet but recently(a month or so) I got to know about IISER . So di, do u have any tips to give regarding preparation for IAT. also, after the 5 yr course from IISER will we be able to work in labs abroad as a scientist or get a Phd ?
Hi! I'm making a video on your queries. It'll be out soon. But as of now, yes, you'll be able to work abroad. In fact, majority go for PhD abroad. It's almost like a norm. :)
Hi! I'm not very familiar with this year's admission procedure. Post your queries here: facebook.com/groups/iiseraf/?ref=share And they'll help you out. Hold tight and all the best :)
If you have selected the float option and if there are vacant seats at IISER pune, then probably. Back in 2016, ranks were not revealed to us. So I can't give a view based on your rank. But based on the fact that last year, there were about 250 seats at IISER Pune, chances are kinda low. However, hold tight, because not all who give IAT join IISER.
Hello di...I am currently in 12th and planning to give IAT. I am a PCB student and you have to attempt all PCMB in IAT so I want you to help me out and tell me that what should be my strategy for Maths!!??
Hi Tahira! Firstly, it's important for you to know that there will be many people like you in the exam. Additionally, my batch in 2016 also had people with no maths background. So don't think of yourself at a grave disadvantage. It's still possible to get into IISER. As per strategy, I would suggest you to maximise your score in PCB as much as possible. Since you'll not be attempting maths, you'll have more time for the other sections. In PC, solve the easy questions first and then come back to the medium ones, and then to difficult ones. After you're done with PCB and you don't think you can answer more in those sections, move to maths and see if there are any easy questions that you may be able to solve. These tips are based on the exam pattern back in 2016. Correct me if I'm mistaken anywhere.
There are a couple labs that work with plants. So you can do your Msc-PhD there. Although, I'm not sure if that would be written as botany specialisation on your certificate.

Hey.today I got alloted to iiser pune I'm really excited to visit this place, it feels like dream come true. (Is it necessary to have programming (coding) knowledge, as I want to pursue studies and research in biology??
Yayyy congrats! I'm so happy for you. The place is breath-taking! No, prior knowledge of programming is not necessary. If at all you'll require programming skills for your projects, you can always learn during your time at IISER. There are no stringent rules. IISER is very flexible and accommodative. Additionally, they do have a introductory course on programming in the first few years. If required, you can take advanced courses in your later years. P.S: I'm a bio major and I had opted for all experimental projects which didn't require any programming. And tbh, you needn't have prior knowledge of biology even. You can pick up the basics from courses at IISER and that will be more than enough.
Me too!!!..I'm also alloted IISER Pune this year and i'm more interested in biology research and the interdisciplinary area of bio and coding like bioinformatics!!!... Hope we would be able to study such awesome things!!!

I got IISER pune when offline classes will be started for 1st year student any idea ?
