You actually made me get P9 lite on contract with your first review of it and I must say that, after more than a month of using it, it was the best decision I could make! It's far from perfect, but for the money I've spent on it there was nothing even near it's quality.
am I the only girl here? lol ;) anw. after months of constant research, I think im gonna go with p9 lite indeed! well, 90% sure... but thanks to ur reviews actually :) in my country 3GB RAM is not available, but I can order it from other European country and have that extra !GB RAM, for the same price. Yes main cons are slow charging, no otg, camera is so and so.. . But i have been using it for 2 months now and the cons never really played a part.
same here, the phone is all I ever wanted, good battery life, completely lagless and smooth performance, nice design, fingerprint sensor and the display is perfect. Would recommend this phone to anyone, I got it for 220eur so It's even better. :)
no problems with calling what so ever, great dialer menu, loud speaker so you hear phone ringing all the time, people hear me well when calling. You hear people well, you can put call on speaker too so u can hear good outside with traffic too.
to be honest mate, i haven't tried the P8. But they are pretty good with proper lighting. The front 8mp is actually very clear. But don't expect high end stuff. its about give and take 35% off the high end ones but still very decent.

Unfortunately only 2gb varient is available in my country and i bought it, the overall performance is outclasse but multitasking is average due to 2gb ram.... But the best part is the battery life, would you believe damir i get 8 hours plus of SOT, it's just commendable, I'm more than happy with the purchase.
Is ur screen undersaturated too when compared to even j5's amoled or is it just mine? The colors arent as saturated as they should be and are quite like natural colors.
On mine colors look natural compared to amoled coz amoled can never be natural they are overblown and oversaturated but look attractive and its personal preference, if you are a samsung user you will find lcd displays undersaturated but they are not indeed. .

So many people say the battery charges too long.Well it has to charge long when it has 3000mAH battery witch is really big.Just put it to chrage over night and you have a long life phone and no problem the phone is great for its price,if you are thinking about getting it,you should.I had the phone for some time now and the phone is great it has alot of features and the phone is just awsome.I hope this helped you if you werent sure about getting this phone :)

I was a bit nervous watching this as I'd just got a P9 largely on the strength of the earlier excellent review. So a big relief when I finished watching this follow up. One feature that I'm really pleased with as it came as a bit of a surprise is the P9 lites voice recorder. I've not tried video yet, but the voice recorder is great at recording loud instruments up close. I teach drums and often like to record my students and myself. The iPhone and top end Samsung phones do a really good job, but virtually all the other phones I've owned have been poor in this area. I remember being really disappointed with the performance of the first HTC One m7, even though otherwise it was a great phone. Non of the Xiaomi's can cope with loud recording's. I did a comparison today with the Iphone se and the P9 lite, recording some live drumming up close and the P9 lite didn't disappoint. It's not a deal breaker as I have a Teac DR-5, but it's really handy and would be great at recording live bands. As for the rest of the phone, I'm really impressed and shipping with an official ROM which updates is a treat for me...and no malware!

I found a reddit page that said "you can set the sd card as the default storage, meaning that all the media and files in general produced by apps will go to the sd card, however, the apps will still be installed on the internal storage"--(thescach) So I suppose that's a decent workaround?
Tricia Stark yes you can and u will have extra ram space,but i woult recomend u doing that if u dont have a class 10 sd card else is bugging as hell. I tried it out with a class 6 and it killed me
very good riview.. I own my p9 lite about 3 weeks ago and iam really satiesfied about camera, battry life, performance.. long time charging is not a big issue to me,. I charge my phne 3 hours before sleep and then off for tomorrow.. honestly, this is the best phne 4 the price..kirin 650 works preety well
Mine fully charges in less than 2 hours. I had a full battery at 100% exactly 24 hours ago and now it's 67%. The performance is outstanding! It really surprised me for a mid range phone. Extremely fast and never lags or freezes. No heating issues either. I also put a 9H tempered glass protector on the screen which is fine. You can find ultra thin ones. I would've liked otg support but it's not a deal breaker for me. The only negative thing I found is the fingerprint id. Sometimes it doesn't respond. You get 4 attempts then you have to enter your password to access the phone. It will work again after restart. But I don't care about that because I never use passwords on my phones. If fingerprint id is important to you then don't buy this phone. Other than that, it is an amazing device and I highly recommend it. I've had it for 2 months now and I'm very satisfied.
I was even surprised because I saw your first review when you said it takes over 3 hours to charge. Other reviewers said the same. That's not the case with my phone. No tricks man. I just use the charger that came with it. I never charge it unless it's drained. I always wait for the battery to get below 7-8% before charging.

I had to make the same choice a week ago. And I chose P9 and I very happy with it! It's really a great phone. MEUI is fantastic compare to touchwiz. And the camera is also great and has pro and many other modes. Only thing I hate about it is the charging time. -painfully slow... :/
i had the p9 lite but swapped it for my wife's idol 4 3gb version,hands down a better phone imo speakers,video recording,dont stutter like the p9,but i must say battery life is better on the p9 lite,anyway great upload as allways thanks
I have a Huawei p9 lite 2gb ram and believe me it is run smoothly i have 720 mb to 1.09 gb ram free allways,and after 1 month of of usage and hard gaming for an amounth of 350euros (around 380-400 dollars) it is worth every penny. I am playing modern combat 5 nova 3 gangster 4 and other games lag free. So if its a big price diference between the 2 and 3 gb ram version get the 2 gb it wont disapoint you! The one thing i dont like is the word prediction that u cant turn off,so i downloaded another keyboard.
I couldn't decide between this and Honor 7/Honor 7 lite. Now, thanks to you, i know i will buy this one!! :P now it's time to decide whether Black or Gold .. :( :D
Always enjoy a revisit to a phone review. And yes phone does seem pretty nice for the price. But a much higher SAR rating than normal is a big no no for me. I'm a heavy user, and prefer not to get brain cancer just yet. But thanks for pointing this out!
There is one more con - it doesn't support WiFi 5Ghz AFAIK. For some people it might be deal breaker (like for me, as I use 5Ghz home). Great reviews btw! :)
I watched your review and now I have the P9 Lite 2GB version, and I really like it so far. OTG would have been great, but I'm fine with that, I'm missing the audio equalizer though. the 2GB RAM doesn't make it slow, it's still running great, the only reloading happens when I'm switching to or from a very heavy game, like NFS No Limits or Hearthstone

On the paper, it has a worse screen but a good chip and a very good battery. And for just 150$!! What do you think about Xiaomi brand in general by the way?
I bought the phone becuz u recommended it and I have to say it works absolutely great my friends were amazed that there is a phone like this at this price range battery life is very good and I actually dint mind the long time it takes to charge considering how good it holds up the power but I have to say when I compared the rear camera with a Samsung j7 of my friend the samsung had slightly better quality but the front camera p9 lite was much better and the built quality samsung j series can never compete now here im being afraid all my friends will go for this phone and it would become mainstream and I got a 12.5% discount from the dealer I bought this because they only just introduced it to our country sry for the long comment. plz do a review for new honor 8 I heard its quite good ty

yes..got my p9lite a month ago becoz of damir franc,and its not problem to me those issues of otg coz i can use via wifi in transfering files or just using the hisuite,gorilla glass can be solved by having a tempered glass right?
Hi, i have one small thing that irritates me. When some one rings me the first vibrated for a few seconds and then starts the ring sound. Is there anyway around this. I looked in the menus but couldn`t find anything.
If you used the higher Amp charger, will it charge quicker? Such as the after market 3.6A charger, I noticed that when I uses that to charge my phone. It charges up SIGNIFICANTLY faster. With the 3.6A and 220V output. UK plug.
The otg thing is regional I suppose. In my country, the P9 Lite supports otg as stated by a Pakistani Tech Channel 'XEETECHCARE'. Depends on which region you are. It's sad that a few regions don't get that feature. Huawei should treat all regions the same

But please start reviewing some key budget flagships like Axon 7 or Oneplus 3 which more number of people care about compared to some other phones like mid-range Sony phones or some other. You review them all, or even revisit them. But your channel is not going to be complete if you skip some phones which might come from less famous companies, but are actually "bigger" than a lot of other phones. Thank you

Hi Damir, great videos! I feel this second review has confirmed my choice to get this phone. The only thing holding me back is the quality and volume of the audio jack, as i love my music and listen to it alot through earphones, & whatever phone i buy will become my primary music playing device through the spotify app. While i wouldnt call myself an audiophile i do need my music to have good quality, my current phone and music device is an iphone 4 and the audio jack quality and volume is more than good enough for me. (I quite often have it turned up almost to max volume) I cant stand cheap earphones (such as apple earphones, jbl gummy earphones, and other cheap outer earphones) and use soundmagic e10 inner earphones which are good enough for me, but i would like to have the option of using headphones in the future with this phone, though they wouldnt cost more than £100 max. Will this phone produce high enough music quality and volume for me? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
On a strict budget and in dire need of a new phone, the max I would pay in my country would be an Honor 8, but the P9 Lite is significantly cheaper so I'm wondering which phone will benefit me more in the long run? I'm not a power user, I maybe play some "smaller" games but very rarely, other than thatI use I'll use it for snapping photos, listening to music and hanging around on social media. The only real differences that I myself am noticing (and I'm not really in the zone with today's phones) are the better glass screen and more storage on Honor 8 although about the storage It would be cheaper to get an sd card for the P9 Lite cuz I'm not gonna go over 32 gigs. Any recommendations?

It's great for its price range. If you don't want to pay more than 250, maybe 300€ it's the phone to take.

Off course P9 lite is best phone out of its class, I have own this and fully satisfied by its over all performance :)
Mine fully charges in less than 2 hours. I had a full battery at 100% exactly 24 hours ago and now it's 67%. The performance is outstanding! It really surprised me for a mid range phone. Extremely fast and never lags or freezes. No heating issues either. I also put a 9H tempered glass protector on the screen which is fine. You can find ultra thin ones. I would've liked otg support but it's not a deal breaker for me. The only negative thing I found is the fingerprint id. Sometimes it doesn't respond. You get 4 attempts then you have to enter your password to access the phone. It will work again after restart. But I don't care about that because I never use passwords on my phones. If fingerprint id is important to you then don't buy this phone. Other than that, it is an amazing device and I highly recommend it. I've had it for 2 months now and I'm very satisfied.
I was even surprised because I saw your first review when you said it takes over 3 hours to charge. Other reviewers said the same. That's not the case with my phone. No tricks man. I just use the charger that came with it. I never charge it unless it's drained. I always wait for the battery to get below 7-8% before charging.

Lol!After writing my comment i scrolled down the other comments and yes i discovered the video you are refering to and watched it..Sorry..Although as far as the camera is conserned i get that you can't say for sure which one is better.If i am not wrong you said for still photos the one is better than the other and for example in morning light or low light P9 is better,right???

I had to make the same choice a week ago. And I chose P9 and I very happy with it! It's really a great phone. MEUI is fantastic compare to touchwiz. And the camera is also great and has pro and many other modes. Only thing I hate about it is the charging time. -painfully slow... :/

i had the p9 lite but swapped it for my wife's idol 4 3gb version,hands down a better phone imo speakers,video recording,dont stutter like the p9,but i must say battery life is better on the p9 lite,anyway great upload as allways thanks
I have a Huawei p9 lite 2gb ram and believe me it is run smoothly i have 720 mb to 1.09 gb ram free allways,and after 1 month of of usage and hard gaming for an amounth of 350euros (around 380-400 dollars) it is worth every penny. I am playing modern combat 5 nova 3 gangster 4 and other games lag free. So if its a big price diference between the 2 and 3 gb ram version get the 2 gb it wont disapoint you! The one thing i dont like is the word prediction that u cant turn off,so i downloaded another keyboard.

Always enjoy a revisit to a phone review. And yes phone does seem pretty nice for the price. But a much higher SAR rating than normal is a big no no for me. I'm a heavy user, and prefer not to get brain cancer just yet. But thanks for pointing this out!

There is one more con - it doesn't support WiFi 5Ghz AFAIK. For some people it might be deal breaker (like for me, as I use 5Ghz home). Great reviews btw! :)

I watched your review and now I have the P9 Lite 2GB version, and I really like it so far. OTG would have been great, but I'm fine with that, I'm missing the audio equalizer though. the 2GB RAM doesn't make it slow, it's still running great, the only reloading happens when I'm switching to or from a very heavy game, like NFS No Limits or Hearthstone

Well, I spoke with my mother and because of her very lightweight usage, she never noticed any major stutters or lags. People like her should be fine with the 2 gb model, people like me should consider buying the 3 gb version ;)

On the paper, it has a worse screen but a good chip and a very good battery. And for just 150$!! What do you think about Xiaomi brand in general by the way?

I bought the phone becuz u recommended it and I have to say it works absolutely great my friends were amazed that there is a phone like this at this price range battery life is very good and I actually dint mind the long time it takes to charge considering how good it holds up the power but I have to say when I compared the rear camera with a Samsung j7 of my friend the samsung had slightly better quality but the front camera p9 lite was much better and the built quality samsung j series can never compete now here im being afraid all my friends will go for this phone and it would become mainstream and I got a 12.5% discount from the dealer I bought this because they only just introduced it to our country sry for the long comment. plz do a review for new honor 8 I heard its quite good ty

yes..got my p9lite a month ago becoz of damir franc,and its not problem to me those issues of otg coz i can use via wifi in transfering files or just using the hisuite,gorilla glass can be solved by having a tempered glass right?

Hi, i have one small thing that irritates me. When some one rings me the first vibrated for a few seconds and then starts the ring sound. Is there anyway around this. I looked in the menus but couldn`t find anything.
If you used the higher Amp charger, will it charge quicker?
Such as the after market 3.6A charger, I noticed that when I uses that to charge my phone.
It charges up SIGNIFICANTLY faster. With the 3.6A and 220V output. UK plug.

I'm watching this from a huawey p9 lite.It charges in about 1:30 mins to 2 hours.
The otg thing is regional I suppose. In my country, the P9 Lite supports otg as stated by a Pakistani Tech Channel 'XEETECHCARE'. Depends on which region you are. It's sad that a few regions don't get that feature. Huawei should treat all regions the same

Hey Damir, I love your reviews and I watch all of them. But please start reviewing some key budget flagships like Axon 7 or Oneplus 3 which more number of people care about compared to some other phones like mid-range Sony phones or some other. You review them all, or even revisit them.
But your channel is not going to be complete if you skip some phones which might come from less famous companies, but are actually "bigger" than a lot of other phones.

Hi Damir, great videos! I feel this second review has confirmed my choice to get this phone. The only thing holding me back is the quality and volume of the audio jack, as i love my music and listen to it alot through earphones, & whatever phone i buy will become my primary music playing device through the spotify app. While i wouldnt call myself an audiophile i do need my music to have good quality, my current phone and music device is an iphone 4 and the audio jack quality and volume is more than good enough for me. (I quite often have it turned up almost to max volume)
I cant stand cheap earphones (such as apple earphones, jbl gummy earphones, and other cheap outer earphones) and use soundmagic e10 inner earphones which are good enough for me, but i would like to have the option of using headphones in the future with this phone, though they wouldnt cost more than £100 max. Will this phone produce high enough music quality and volume for me? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
On a strict budget and in dire need of a new phone, the max I would pay in my country would be an Honor 8, but the P9 Lite is significantly cheaper so I'm wondering which phone will benefit me more in the long run?
I'm not a power user, I maybe play some "smaller" games but very rarely, other than thatI use I'll use it for snapping photos, listening to music and hanging around on social media.
The only real differences that I myself am noticing (and I'm not really in the zone with today's phones) are the better glass screen and more storage on Honor 8 although about the storage It would be cheaper to get an sd card for the P9 Lite cuz I'm not gonna go over 32 gigs.
Any recommendations?
