  • How to charge the battery correctly? Why do the phone batteries decrease so quickly? We have 15 amazing tips that will make your smartphone live a longer life!
    Nowadays one can hardly imagine life without a cell phone. And it happens quite often that our gadgets start to act up just half a year after we bought them. It is frustrating, but in most cases, we ourselves are to blame! Let’s face it - we don’t always handle our devices properly.
    TIMESTAMPS
    Recharge your battery more often 0:45
    Don’t keep the battery charging all the time 1:24
    Don’t buy cheap chargers 2:01

    Drain your battery from time to time 3:10
    Avoid high temperatures 3:29
    Avoid cold temperatures 4:02
    Avoid bright wallpaper and adjust screen brightness 4:34
    Watch out for voltage fluctuations 5:19
    Clean the ports and wipe the display 5:45
    Keep the phone far from water 6:40
    Handle your phone carefully 7:15
    Avoid software updates 7:42
    Use cloud storage 8:29
    SUMMARY
    - To increase your gadget’s battery life, you should recharge it more often. The best option is to do it each time the battery power indicator drops to 10-20%. This will increase the number of discharge cycles up to 1000-1100 cycles.
    - An inbuilt controller stops the battery from taking more current than necessary, so there is absolutely no risk of overcharging the battery and destroying it.
    - There have been situations when a person was using a non-native charger, and it caused a fire in the house! And another terrible thing that can happen if you use non-native chargers and cables is getting an electric shock.
    - We recommend you to avoid using chargers that claim to charge your battery fully in less than an hour.
    - If your smartphone has a bulky protective case, it might cause the device and its battery to overheat during a lengthy recharging session.
    - It is recommended to discharge your phone’s battery every three months to 0% and then immediately charge it to 100% to get rid of the extremes of full charge/discharge.
    - A high temperature is the worst thing you can imagine for lithium-ion batteries: they totally can’t stand overheating.
    - Carry the phone in an inner pocket of your coat or an outer pocket but encased in a protective covering. Low temperatures are harmful to the battery because it needs more power to keep itself warm enough to function.
    - Try to lower the brightness of your screen at least by 30-40%.
    - At the approach of a thunderstorm, never charge your phone. Actually, the same goes for all the electrical appliances you have.
    - To wipe the screen, use lint-free wipers and whatever you do, never use window cleaning liquids. They contain ammonia which can damage the screen irrevocably.
    - If you drop your cell phone into a pool or a sink, the first thing you should do after you get it out is turn it off and remove the battery (if it’s possible, of course).
    - Don’t put your cell phone on the dashboard when driving. Constant moving and bumping can cause a lot of damage.
    - Read user reviews before you hit the update button. The problem with such updates is that it’s either very hard or impossible to go back to the previous version of the software.
    - Even if you have a lot of free space on your hard drive, it’s better to use cloud storage anyway. This way your phone won’t be clogged with too much data so that it will perform much better.

      Android also while you are partly true that updates may cause 🔋 drain they also help keep your phone secure in fact google wants to push android manufacturers to keep security updates no more than 90 days out of date and while you might not care about your own phone security keep in mind that your compromised phone/identity can be used to catch others off guard consider the worst case scenario having ransomware mailed from your phone to a boss or colleague while I never heard it happen should not be too hard to do when they have access to your mail, contacts and facebook/linkedin while a unlikely scenario I'd say why not minimise the risks by keeping up to date :p

    I didn't learn anything from this video. The information presented literally contradicts itself. For example, it says to keep your phone between 40-80% but it also recommends waiting until your phone is at 10% to charge it.
    Then it's said that you can leave your phone charging overnight because devices have built in protections to stop the phone from drawing more current than it needs...but then continues by implying it's bad for the battery to leave your phone charging for too long.
    I could go on... I feel like this video must be a joke.

    @lightisgreaterthandarkness 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    Another trick I have found to extend the life of your phone is to never charge the phone while it is ON... Charging a phone while it is ON causes it to heat up pretty quick. It is even WORSE if you are playing games or doing heavy processing with your phone. The phone heats up to very hot levels and heat causes expansion and contraction of silicon cells within the chipsets in the device. If you have ever overclocked a GPU on a PC and went too far you will know what I am talking about. The expansion/contraction caused by the heat causes the information stream to be "fragmented" which, in a GPU's case, will cause "artifacts" on the display device you are using. Artifacts can be things like clear triangles, page tearing or seeing through objects that should be displayed solid...
    I also always make sure to shut my phone COMPLETELY off for at the bare minimum 3 hours everyday(which is when I charge). Doing this has kept ALL my phones,even going back to 2010, extremely snappy like the first day they were bought. Also, Lithium Ion batteries need time for the cells to "rest" to keep functioning reliably. People who run their phones all day everyday and never let them rest completely off have the WORST performing phones I have ever tested! They are so misinformed that they believe it is the phone's fault and they blame the device which leads to buying a new phone... 😩😐
    People are blown away when I show them my Galaxy S5 I use as a backup phone while my Note 9 is charging. The S5 functions like the day it was first purchased because I know how to take care of my devices...
    Give...Your...Phones...DOWN TIME people! They are not going to pack up and leave you like a cheating girlfriend!

      2 secondly i have a samsung but cant use it charger cz i dont have there right pluging for the charger so i have an original shaomi charger that is 25 wat indentical to the capacity that my phone can support ..do you think charging with a different charger even tho it has the same watt capacity would affect my battery's phone or is it ojay to charge with this different charger that i have..thanks again and hope you answer

    • @lightisgreaterthandarkness
      @lightisgreaterthandarkness 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@md3869 First of all, I would let the battery drop to about 7-10% capacity before charging. Secondly, you ALWAYS want to use the charger that came with your phone. Not only does the wattage need to match but the amperage needs to match. For example... My Note 9 has a 9v @1.67amp output so if I were to get a charger that was say 9v @1.2amps then what would happen is the phone would try to pull 470 milliamps more than the charger can handle which will cause the charger to get hot and catch fire. I can't tell you how many house fires have happened either from "cheap" chargers or the "wrong phone" chargers. ALWAYS make sure to use the original manufacturers power supply charger that came with your phone cuz it's always "fine" until it "ISN'T" and THEN it's just too late...

    The thing clogging phones isn't "data", it is the plethora of junk apps that phone manufacturers load up and make "non-removable". A better policy would be to design such apps to have a "shelf-life",If after which they could be removed. If I have used a phone for a year, and not used the app, figure that I either don't need the capacity the app offers, or have a different app that I prefer to use the same function.

  • @uandualways
    @uandualways 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    When you charge and the battery reaches 100%, the phone is made to automatically make the charging stop. That's why when people charge their phones overnight, their phones aren't hot like lava.

If the WHOLE phone is hot then you must turn it off immediately! because that is sign that it couldn't cool down no matter what the outside temperature is.

    Thank you for your usefull video..i just have a question...i have a new phone and i want to really take care of its battery..i have 2 question : 1 should i still use it untill it reaches 15÷ or should i stay higher or lower than 15% and shoul i charge to 100 or lower ??
    2 secondly i have a samsung but cant use it charger cz i dont have there right pluging for the charger so i have an original shaomi charger that is 25 wat indentical to the capacity that my phone can support ..do you think charging with a different charger even tho it has the same watt capacity would affect my battery's phone or is it ojay to charge with this different charger that i have..thanks again and hope you answer

    If you want to charge yourphone fast. Put your phone on battery saving mode and airplane mode and never ever play with your phone while charging

    I had an iPad Mini on 1%, and I constantly used it and it lasted for about 30 minutes.
