    this phone it's awesome you can't find P9 over U.S market. Because U.S trying to protects iPhone's markets so that they r bending huawei over U.S

      .... Huawei can sell their phone here it's just not sold by phone carriers because it's not popular (mainstream), but you can buy it on amazon.com; however, you won't see their products being sold in a U.S. store anytime soon.

    EMUI is the best possible UI for anyone who likes iOS (it is actually a clone). Coming from iOS and having the worst experience ever using in past Samsung's + others I can easily tell that Huawei released the best user friendly UI available since vanilla android is a huge mess.

    • @CaidicusProductions
      @CaidicusProductions 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a strange issue. It's pretty cold here these days (here in Northern China) and it works as it should.

    • @CaidicusProductions
      @CaidicusProductions 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh wait, whoops. I sold my P9 a while ago, bought a Mi Mix, then sold that and got a Huawei Mate 9 Pro. :P The pro works just fine in the cold, can't speak for the P9, I'm afraid.

      Yes i did really like the fingerprint scanner on that phone when i did a review on it :)

  • @Centurio9
    @Centurio9 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can use the fingreprint sensor as a mini touchpad, and control lots of functions with it. e.g. Swipe down with ur finger and it brings down the notification window; swipe left or right in the gallery to view your pictures; answer phone calls by touching it; take a picture by holding ur finger there, etc. As for the appdrawer, you can use the hidden application function as a quasi appdrawer.

    Great review Tim, I share your thoughts and feelings for this device. 😉
    Quick note, this device cpu the Silicon Kirin 955 is actually an octacore CPU I noticed you said Quad Core. Not sure if you knew or just Made a mistake.

  • @jzvr5842
    @jzvr5842 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The Kirin 950/955 are way better SOCs than the SD 820 in everything from app opening, gaming loading, actual gaming to browsing, stop judging performance based on meaningless benchmark numbers and look at real world performance instead.

      Hi can you explain? I'm thinking about buying a p9.

    • @AgentZero037
      @AgentZero037 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      game tests show that the phone runs games flawlessly even with a 4 core GPU , the performance is great is fast , i tried one its as fast as any flagship right now and faster in some situations , i didnt buy the phone because i hated the software but after a month i saw the EMUI 5 leak and how there is an app drawer and closer to stock software coming so i regret it .. i guess im going for the mate 9 when it comes out

  • @milanmottl8983
    @milanmottl8983 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    6:33 Kirin 955 isn't quad core (4), but octa core (8). It has four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores ticking at up to 1.8GHz

      Last one an iphone 5, not bad but I like the Android Samsung/HTC and just getting used to my Huawei P9.
      They are all good just a matter of preference and use for the individual.

    Tim, the Kirin 955 CPU (Cortex A72 cores) is actually a lot more powerful than a Snapdragon 820 (Kyro cores) - check out Geekbench 4 scores to compare. So performance should also be definite a win.

    Another great review. I just have a few questions. With what network did you test this device? How would you rate call quality? Did you face any data connection issues with the carrier that you used? How good is the reception is different areas where you commute to?

I just want a decent screen, a smooth phone, a good looking phone, at least 32gb of built in storage and a phone that can handle simple games and this game is perfect for that. But obvs if I could afford an s8 I would get it

    Nice video Tim and thank you. I need your opinion if you can give. I'm a Windows 10 mobile user (Lumia 930) and I lost it for ever. There is no windows phone in the market I like currently but the only phones for temporary use are the Androids. I saw Huawei P9 and Xiaomi mi5 reviews but there is also the new Nexus phone. I really care about the camera quality but the price of the Mi5 is very tempting for the hardware. What do you think of the 3 phones and which is the best phone for the price with the best camera?

    • @FredwardGames
      @FredwardGames 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrés Delgado the P9 produces better pictures on both the front and rear cameras but it isn't quite as good as the OnePlus 3 with video; that's not to say its videos are bad, they're not, they're pretty good and certainly useable :)

      KG DL hey, it doesn't! Samsung and LG also don't do this (I believe) due to the fact that it will slow your phone down unless you buy a very fast, very expensive SD card

    will the battery life last for 24 months? im currently on an iphone 4s in desperate need of an upgrade XD and this caught my eye. I like everything about this phone and i can usually have my brightness at between 1/4 full brightness and 1/2 full brightness. I never multitask apps. Ever. Ever ever ever and i rarely leave them open. I will use 720p for the majority of my usage and will mostly use it for clash royale, clash of clans, youtube and snapchat. i dont charge and use as well. will the battery life last for 4 months? also what is the battery life?

    What is the state of the screen? As far as I understand it does not have Gorilla Glass protection which is very disappointing as I usually do not like putting protection on expensive phones!

    • @lyubenperfanov1791
      @lyubenperfanov1791 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually bought the phone and I love it but I am pretty sure the protection is not Gorilla Glass. I could not find any official info regarding this and after a month of usage I already have a scratch which should not appear on a Gorilla Glass! It is a shame, really that a phone like this does not have this feature!

    • @Kovacs.x
      @Kovacs.x 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lyuben Perfanov maybe if you put a little protection which I'm sure you can afford it, the scratch wouldn't have happened.

      THIS. Currently it's only -2C here and after using the phone for 20 minutes outside the battery goes 0% and phone turns off. After going inside it comes back to like half of the charge. Local telephone providers shop told me it's a common issue and doesn't even go into warranty. OK.
