Hi everyone, I just wanted to give a quick update on my pop’s. He’s currently still in hospital and has a number of ongoing issues but he is slowly starting to gain movement in his leg/hip and he will soon be able to stand on his own and build up to walking again.
Speedy recovery for your Dad, hope he’s back on his feet soon. As for Alloy wheel cleaner I use an Acidic Wheel cleaner. It’s pretty toxic stuff but gets baked on brake dust off in a couple of minutes. I got it off Amazon Happy New Year!
@@ianberry1713 Cheers mate, he's just gotta put the work in. With it being acidic, does it do any damage to the "finish" if there's a slight defect? That would be my concern with older cars...
@ I’ve been using it on my Copart cars for the past year and none of the alloys have been damaged due to using it. If you leave it on too long it might discolour them but I rinse it off after a couple of minutes and they come up like new.
Sorry to hear about pops just do what I do when I get a car take the wheels off and give them a good scrub even tho it's cold it looks better than it did tho
Hi,what's the crack with Copart, sons car has been written off because of the damage to the front passenger door, it's a Renault clio 1.2 2018 and has 51.000 miles. They are picking the car up on Tuesday, what sort of price is it worth salvage. Sorry if this seems like a daft question but it's all new to me. Cheers
@@raybell7696 alright, it's hard to say really with it being an auction site. Most of the "est retail value" seem to be around £8k for them but that figure is always way over the top to try and get people to bid higher. Insurance companies used to offer you the chance to buy a car back at a certain percentage of the value (I think 10-20%) but my mates car just got written off and he wasn't given the option. Might be worth asking though, shy bairns get nowt at the end of the day... Good luck.
@CurrusOfSalvage They have said I can buy it back at salvage value if I want, wasn't going to buy with the mileage and condition I'm thinking of changing my mind and buy it.
@CurrusOfSalvage triple qx wheel cleaner, can get it at euro car parts for £13. Stray it on and leave it for 5 mins and it will break down all the dirt mate

Get yourself some alloy wheel cleaner bud, euro car parts do one called triple qx and it's good stuff. 5L for around £13
@@joem8213 thank you!! I'll give it a shot. I've been looking for a one which "works" because everyone I've tried has been shite!
Sorry to hear about your dad bud.
Cheers mate
I have a 2010 1.6TDI with 22000 miles on clock. Brilliant though just spent 2k euro on engine in bits to keep it going.
@@larryrichmond8929 I'm glad to hear you're keeping it alive, worth every penny if you love it.

@@raybell7696 it'll definitely be worth asking how much they want for it... Even if you sell it on unfixed, you'll probably make money on it.
Best asking the insurance company what they want as you are entitled to buy it back 👍
Check aircon, does it work?
@@larryrichmond8929 everything worked on it... The heating was like sitting with lava blowing in your face! It was so hot lol
Have you ever tried bca auctions mate
@@michaeltaylor1553 I bought a Mazda 626! From them years ago, about 10 or so when I needed a car quickly but other than that I haven't.
