    Thank you. Extremely helpful for rebuilding my Eiger 400. Long story is, this is my first bike. Got an idea of how they work but not an expert. Apparently the person I bought it from rigged the crap out of it to run. Was taking in way too much air. They had blocked basically all airflow, rags, mask, heck, even a crumbled up water bottle in the intake, just to make it run. It was starving the engine from fuel and air! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Pulled apart the carb today and they had swapped jets, 122 in 55 and vice versa, no crap it was starving! Running good now and a hell of a lot faster. At least now I know what to look for if I buy used again.

    So had a problem after rebuilding my carb. Quad would idle fine but when I hit the throtle the bike would bog down like it was starving for gas. After hours of toying with it, we figured out the the first person who took the carb out to clean the jets, switched the 2 jets by mistake. After hours of pain, lesson learned that we should have tried switching the 133 and the 55 jets aroumd.

    Soooo I'm re doing the carb on a Vinson at the moment. The owner hit something and bent the hell out of the frame. He bent it back the best he could. I'm just wondering if all Vinsons have a bit of a forward lean on the carburetor. I looked at my 500 quadrunner (couple years older) the carb sits dead level on it.

    I had same problem with 2002 king quad 300. Shop said I needed a new petcock. Replaced that and started and ran fine. Took forever to start before.
    Working on a 1997 king quad 300 now and it sat outside for 5 yrs. added 2 bottles seaFoam to gas tank with fresh gas. After new plug it started fine. Won’t stay running-idling without giving it gas is the issue. Should I rebuild carb ? Or got any recommendations? Rather not have to take out carb if there’s anything I can do with it in machine.

    I just cleaned a carb on a Suzuki Eiger. The quad is still very hard to start and when I get it to run at higher RPM's Ihave adjust idle fuel screw all the way in to keep it running. Any ideas on this I would greatly appreciate.

    • @MidNebraskaMotorsports
      @MidNebraskaMotorsports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear this!! What did you set you air/fuel screw to? What color is your spark plug? Sometimes when the carburetor is cleaned and re-installed when you put the fuel line back on the carburetor if it is an old line a piece of rubber breaks off and will lodge into the jets. Let me know what you find. Thanks for watching.

      @@MidNebraskaMotorsports I started with two turns out on the air/fuel screw. But when I started fine tuning with a tach. I found that it would run better with the screw turned all the way in.RPM's would increase but when I would turn the idle screw back down to around 1300 RPM's the machine would stall. Also I am feeding the carb with a new auxilary fuel bottle instead of the fuel tank.

      Before the Suzuki oem petcock even went bad I replaced it on my 2005 Suzuki Eiger with a on/off/res oem petcock that was for a Yamaha Raptor 660. I wanted a petcock you could shut the fuel off when done riding. Worked perfect, plug and play so to speak. The hardest thing about that switch out was draining the 3/4 full fuel out and I think that took less then 5 minutes with my handy dandy shaker tube fuel extractor.

      @@jeremysimpson5155 Your welcome,if you do the Yamaha Raptor 660 petcock mod to your Eiger be sure and get the OEM factory Yamaha petcock. I believe I got one that fit a 2003 Yamaha Raptor 660, it fit my 05 Eiger perfect. There are cheap look--a-likes for $8-15 bucks that will start leaking pretty quick. I believe I paid $30-35 bucks for the OEM off Ebay that I got. It's been working fine for close to two years now and even though I have the 660 Raptor mod petcock I'll still shut off my fuel supply and run the remaining fuel out of the carb when I'm done riding for the day. Ha,ha my shaker tube to extract gas from my tank stopped working, I think it must have got a pin hole in it some where, IDK.

    Yea bud I think you missed it all together. Prolly won’t nothing wrong with that carb. Need to replace the petcock. They’re junk. No way to actually turn the fuel off. It’s either on or prime. And if you leave it on prime you’re gonna fill up the crankcase. And are you totally against carb cleaner? I would’ve taken the diaphragm out and sprayed everywhere then backed it up with nitrogen. Just my two cents.
