They did such a great work! In times of Punk and New Wave. I remember being a AC/DC fan in the 80ies was kind of odd, but I didn´t care, their sound was unique and catchy....can´t compare really with other bands.....maybe CCR or Stones, when they really rocked. Would have been fun to see Keith Richards playing with the young boys of AC/DC
Not until I took up the drums, at the age of 61 in 2000, did I appreciate what a good drummer Phil Rudd is: solid, tight, unfussy, bang on the money. Exactly what a two-guitar band needs.
I heard Phil Rudd claim to be the best live drummer in the world for Rock and Roll. So I carefully listened to him, all the clips on youtube. I think he might be right.
Thank you vh1 for these videos, it’s very very rare to see a band in such a raw setting. Probably even rarer so to find a band willing to do this. YOU GOT ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK BANDS IN THEIR PRIME TO DO A STUDIO SET ALONE IN A ROOM. Really get a sense for their raw power and groove here, I’ve gone back to these performances more than my share over the years. I’m glad it’s saved for posterity so we can enjoy it forever. Yes...they were real we weren’t dreaming.
sorry so late. love this. the way i see it.... brian hated/regretted the fact that he was made to fill the shoes of bon. yet he always did it to well beyond expectations. PLEEEASE Angus, bring back phil, cliff, brian, yourself, and stevie in malcolm's absence, for one more tour. does not need to be loud, just needs to be AC/DC.
I love it all, but recent years just realized how much i like cliffs drums. My god. That is the most steady left hand ever. It all fits together so perfectly. Fkn these guys are gods!
I’ll be honest, I’ve been around since the early 70s and know a lot of AC DC songs, but I never hear of this song until I watched Beavis And Butthead Do America. Killer song.
Forget the debate bout Bon v Brian, this little clip tells you all you need to know about the why the DC were magnificent whoever sang, look at the connection between Mal and Phil, nothing ever as tight before it, and nothing ever since. Angus would be Angus anywhere, but it's these two that make ACDC special for me. I had this track on a CD some years ago, lost it in a house move, so if anyone can point me to a CD which its on, would be appreciated.
Anthony Hodo thanks, I knew that, I was referring to this version, the VH1 practice in this video. I've found it since, it's on the bonus section of plug me in.
Derek B many think that George Young is playing Bass on this track on the Powerage album. & I might have to agree, The bass line sounds a lot funkier than Cliffs more straight up style
Perhaps there are better guitar players, I don’t know, I know people argue who’s the best and all that shit. But I do know that since I was a kid in the early 70s there has never been a guitar player I enjoy listening to more than Angus Young.
Phil's got such a soft touch with those sticks and that's what separates drummers like him, Charlie, Frank from guys like Chris Slade who beat the shit out of their set but sound like shit.
What is about you Aussies having to make faces like goldfish? Phil is like a Coy carp looking for dinner and Angus in the last decade looks like he's chewing a wasp
It would have sounded better with Peavey amps though. They should hire Synyster Gates to be the co-lead guitarist since the passing of Malcolm. I bet Angus would like the help.
nice opinion but bon isn't here, brian's just doing his best at anytime with what he's got. can't fault anyone for doing that as I'm over looking at music like a snob, but as a person to person thing.
IMHO, Brian has proved himself 10 times over. Who knows what Bon’s voice would have been like now. Brian has sacrificed his voice where Ang/Mal can change their strings after each gig. My position is that I love both of them. They are very different and both worthy.
There’ll never ever be another rock band so great
3:35 that’s when you realize the power of the cliff’s bass lines.

What about the Dead Boys?
Embedded in my soul so deep.
You got that RIGHT!😎👍🏻
Such a groovy tune.
Sir, your time machine is waiting. 'groovy'? lol
@@peterzebot1795 Man, groove and swing might be old school terms but AC/DC had it in spades.
One of their finest 👍
Man those DRUMS are KILLER. Especially the SNARE.... PHIL RUDD is a MACHINE!!😁👊
Remember the first time I heard them...the Powerage album...such a clean crunchy sound I could not beleive it.
tune73 Powerage is definitely their best record
Not until I took up the drums, at the age of 61 in 2000, did I appreciate what a good drummer Phil Rudd is: solid, tight, unfussy, bang on the money. Exactly what a two-guitar band needs.
Number 1 Rockers in history...they will never be equalled, The finest!
I heard Phil Rudd claim to be the best live drummer in the world for Rock and Roll. So I carefully listened to him, all the clips on youtube. I think he might be right.
I think he might be a true Metrodome
He's tighter than a ducks ass
Solid rhythm. Can't ask for more
3:35 that’s when you realise the mighty Cliff’s bass lines .
Yes, hesxa solid bassist... pay attention to back in black
Man, a rehearsal of one of my favorite AC/DC songs that you never seem to hear of. Def the best song on the best album
At 3:35 just love Cliffs little bass shuffle, best video on you tube, love the song, the groove and extended tune , brilliant👍

Sir...u took the words out of mouth. 62 and still rocking in the FREE world.
Phil Rudd will always be one of the best, ever
The best. I'd love to know what he and Mal said at the start. But watch how Phil watches Mal for the cues. They were the best rhythm thing ever.
@@steviesteve750 Phils the Rudder of the ship:)
@@dhira2689 He's the freight train!
Phil "metronome" rudd
Rudds grooving like a Machine love it
Love to watch the band get ready... man, what a beat!
This is so great and it's just a little jam. ACDC is way up there among the greatest, without a doubt
There will never be another 🤘
used to play gone shooting in my band, great riff.
4:00 love that little Mal isolation
+fors terker Yeah!
Hear how tight that mans playing is! What a machine! Love his sense of rhythm, it just oozes through acdc.
what other singer plays air guitar, while they rehearse??? they have such a tight groove not easy to duplicate many have tried but none can do it..
Chuck Billy of Testament... I love when lead vocalists do that
Mick Jagger I think...
1:17 Rudds grooving
Awesome...classic #ACDC Perfection..🤘🎸💯😎

Well your prayers have been answered
Nobody hears where to put the "1" like Phil Rudd, his interpretation is unique. Malcolm knew it.
2:59 Rudd does Bonham Shuffle
Audio technician: FIRED!

1:23 Rudd mini Solo lol 😂

fantastic !
Brian Johnson is just the coolest motherfucker to EVER live. And AC/DC is the best band on the planet, no exaggerations.
Whatttt a groooove... Excellent pick girl!
+Formal De Hyde I think Bon Scott was cooler than Brian, but hey, Brian rocks!
Formal De Hyde yes!
Brian is a cool guy but Bon was cold as ice
Bon was sexy
There are electronic robots all over the world wondering how Phil Rudd keeps such a constant beat.
Superb check sound record!!!!
Вечная память всем ушедшим рокерам
1:58 Rudds Groove Machine lol 😂
authentic to the bone.
AC/DC NUMBER ONE ON THE WHORLD.
like this one Phil gets to play!
Philipp is the Rhythmus
Acojonante!!!.....brutal!!!!....historico!!!......ooooh yeeeaaaah!!!.....
Ohhhh.... yesssssss.... 💪💪💪
The best
5:32 one of the most typical Angus Young licks
Starts off so slow, then that bass and groovy guitar kicks in. Long live AC/DC.
Brian Johnson is one Cool dude!! And I Love Him!! Yay!! Best frontman ever!!
@fifthof Brian did a great and better job
@fifthof bon was shit 🤣🤣
Yeah Brian is fantastic! But Bon was the greatest frontman ever! Better than Jagger, Tyler, McCartney, Plant, name em.
@@Mark-gd5vr , You'll burn in hell for that comment buddy. Better repent. No true Acca Dacca fan would ever say such a thing.

Okay yeah... Phil Rudd g o a t
MAGIC
new video for me, wow
Brian had his boogie woogie shoes on that day. Great clip.
AC/DC en estado puro!
Se rumorea que algunos metrónomos son casi tan precisos como Phil Rudd. (It's been said that some metronomes are almost as accurate as Phil Rudd)
Q es metronomos? :v
mic kaput still rocking out. its that acdc beat
Saw them in 1978 with bon Scott.
Phantastic session on a great song! Gone Shootin´ Brian bit out with technical problems, but the band 100%

@@Strugun that's the ACDC style. Cliff is a world class bassist.
Brian sounds like he did the customary double-shot of hot motor oil before layin' into this one.

The band are so good even the lead singer is gone 👍😎

This is one of the few Bon songs that Brian can hold his own on. In some ways, I almost prefer Brian's version, goes perfect with his growl.
👏👏👏👍👍👍❤❤❤👍👍👍😁❤
Listening to this, I'm thinking the real genius in acdc is phil rudd. Any co-incidence that the last great album they made was FOTS
hey
3:59 xd parece q phil no tiene baquetas, es mago
Darn close up there top 10 imho my fave band and the ew
Turn your microphone on Brian ha ha.
