    Parenting a high-needs, intellectually disabled, and autistic child, losing my parents, leaving teaching after 20 years, and working from home, etc., did this to me. I just lost myself over many years. Like you said, style completely left my radar. I didn't even know what was in the shops. I'm still a little bit in this process, but having a professional color analysis and beginning an "I like" Pinterest board really helped. And watching you, of course! I've made a few purchase mistakes already. But I learned from them, and it's been fun. I feel like I'm reawakening. The next time I'm able to treat myself, I definitely would love some 1:1 work with you. Thanks, Sarah! 😀 P.S. And congratulations! Well-deserved.

    Fantastic tips! I found myself in a style rut after my daughter was born - but thanks to your channel (and a few others I follow), my style is now the best it’s ever been! Your videos are so helpful!

    I finally started sewing my own dresses, total beginner sewer so the most basic, cotton dresses. I finally found my style this way because going to the shops, or looking at my closet never worked because there was literally never anything I loved. Even the clothes I wore everyday I hated. Now that I have something I love I had a starting place. I'm sewing the right color and style items but using the wrong fabric. I'm not experienced enough to use that fabric yet.

      Amazing! We’re at a similar point in our sewing journey! There’s so much to learn! It’s so much more satisfying making something that you want and love than buying! Keep it up!

    It occurred to me yesterday when I was shopping that I no longer have to hide away like I did before because my colours and style works for me now. 😊

    Congratulations 👏 Having my seasonal colour analysis done has really helped me look past what I like to look at, and made me try things I don't love the colour of on the hanger, but are in my pallete and sometimes, once they are on me, the cohesion changes my opinion of them altogether... even if they are in the somewhat manky cowsh*t green of soft autumn life 🤣🤣🤣

    Understanding my colors, my body type/style, my face style and my personal style helped me so much. I understand what suits me and why I’m drawn to things and why I don’t wear stuff. Even shopping in my color season helps to easy combine clothing, because all colors match

    This is spot on! Fashion became a lower priority to me after having 2 kids and leaving my job to stay at home. Living off one income with tiny messy people (whom I adore) kept me in mostly in hand me downs for several years. Now that we have a bit more stability, I’m
    intentionally pursuing items that suit me and are practical. Love Sarah’s style tips!

    Congratulations on your award! Impressive!!
    I am a brand new subscriber… just found you this week!!!
    I love your message!!!
    Some ideas for videos (maybe you have done them and I haven’t found them yet)
    1. Including hats in your outfits(either from chemo impact or needing to avoid sun-)I’m a melanoma survivor and now need to avoid sun on my face always (driving and anytime outside….i am not into hats!😂)
    2. Belts-do the width of them matter for long waisted/short waisted or rectangle vs curvy vs inverted triangle, petite vs ?
    If wearing a hat and a belt do you minimize other accessories?
    Thank you so much! I love your content!!!

      Another question is how do you determine if a print fabric is in your color palette? I am a sewing and love florals, but struggle with determining if it will work for my palette or not. Thank you!!

      @sarahryanthestylecoach  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh thank you! It’s lovely to have you here Laurie. And thank you for the suggestions! The hat topic is something I cover in my online course The Secrets Of Effortless Style under the topic of Face Shapes. I will certainly look into doing a video on the other topics. I think I do address the belts in my long and short waisted videos too! 💕☺️

    Great video. I am rebuilding my sense of self, including style, after caring for my late husband.
    As you now have your sewing machine, I wondered if you could share a few basic skills both with the machine and without, which could make existing garments work for us better? Eg mending, customising, altering?
    I have a few things I have done for years but there is plenty of room for improvement.

    • @sarahryanthestylecoach
      @sarahryanthestylecoach  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you Alex Louise. I can only imagine how one might lose their sense of self even under these circumstances. Your husband was very lucky to have you care for him.
      As for sewing, gosh, I’m not sure I’m at a stage where I can impart knowledge on such a thing but I will have a think on it and you never know! Thank you for the suggestion!

      @@sarahryanthestylecoach thank you for your kindness.
      I'm sure you may know more than you think, e.g. even swapping buttons on a shirt can change the vibe, or maybe bring it closer to your colour season if it's a near-miss. Sorry if that's an obvious example.
      But I'll be watching whatever videos you make because I learn a lot.

    Congratulations on your award! These tips were so very helpful. I especially loved the great specifics you offered on the things to consider when analyzing the clothing you love that's already in your closet. I absolutely love the beautiful draping of clothing from the late 30s and the 40s, so finding something that's a bit unusual always intrigues me.

    My journey is a long and ongoing one, with many style mistakes. My experience is that I am perfectly alle to recognize wonderful style in others, but being unable to take a good and hard look in the mirror. Looking at yourself objectively, without all the instant and hard critics is a difficult and sometimes impossible task

    You made a very good point about working in your style in this video. I think that taking care of your appeareance is seen as something frivolous. I was in that corner till not long ago. It is not something that comes naturally or that I learn experimenting as a teenager or in my twenties. So I didn't realize the amount of knowledge and pratice that takes liking your style and buying smartly. And no amount of videos watched can replace looking at yourself in the mirror and consider how you look and what are your strong and weak points

    Your tips are so relevant: I would apply all of these in my teenage years, trying to define who I was stylishly speaking! I remember cutting pages of magazines on a papernotebook prior to Pinterest to notice similarities in shapes, colours, style... And when shopping, leaving empty handed was frequent.
