Finally, a solid review of the SOUND. Too damn many reviews of all the bells and whistles in which that is great but what about the sound. Are they too tinny or bassy or muddy. That's what's important to me. I listen to hard rock. I had the XM4s, they sounded good enough. But, like all the other XM4 owners the batteries took a dump. Now I'm gun shy of Sony. By the reviewer opinion, the Bose sound a bit better in this regard. BTW my XM4s were out of warranty, but Sony is not fixing the XM4s anymore and with the receipt and some wrangling, they required the XM4s be sent to them, they determined if they are dead. Sony sent me a check for the whole amount. They should have recalled all these XM4s.
@@JulianMakes yup mine dies too fast starting half a year ago it used to last for 4-6 hours and now they last at a max of 10 mins lol. Very disappointed
I've had the Bose qc ultra, and this may not matter to most people, but I've had to warranty them I kid not and swear 7 times.. I have been super disappointed, I've even had them warrantied, and sent back to me with 1 bud not working, in the same day. Crazy poor quality, but they do sound great when they work.. lol. And they do warranty with really no questions asked, just takes like 2 weeks before you get to use your buds again.
Same as me Ron for me the most important for me is sound quality 'coz all earbuds majority with Anc and Transparency have only slight differences except the sound quality each earbud have different in tuning.
thanks bro for efficient Comparison & for me All Day the Ultras❤ got Both Today & Sony going tmrw back👊 By the way Sony gives the ability to return them in a Frame Time of 14 Days only!! Where the BOSE gives 90 Days... That says it all😌
Bose also has a trade up program and will give you credit towards new gear when u send in your old ones. I got 100 dollars for old headphones that were worn out. Cost me 200 new 6 years ago and they gave me 100 lol. Score
Thanks for the audio review. I'm looking for some high-end buds to replace my lost galaxy 2 buds. I must be the only one who doesn't ANC. Never used it on my buds 2 pro. Why would anyone use this feature on a busy street?! I need to be aware of my surroundings. I guess thats just me, though. Maybe if i was on an airplane every day, but for me, im just needing great sound.
My friend, say money is not too much of a problem, and i currently have the bose ultra, but am tired of sending them off for repair, and i really want a good pair of buds. What would be your suggestion? My number one priority is a transparent or ambient mode. Im in construction and being able to hear someone say "look out" before dropping something off a roof is important. And just sound quality, they need to sound awesome.. Like 500 or so would be my limit for buds!! Thanks for any suggestions
If you'e looking for really good transparency mode, the Airpods Pro line has the best transparency, IMO. You can also look at the Denon PerL Pro, Status Between Pro/3 ANC. Sony XM5s also has pretty good transparency and sound. There's others out there that are not coming to mind right now. Hope this helps.
@@ronontech I'll check out some of the others, airpods not really my thing.. lol, everything android pretty much for me, thanks for the response, I'm going to check those out now!! Just checked those denon, I think those are it!! The look awesome.. thank you

Check out the Soundpeats Engine 4. They have really good sound. And you get about 12.5 hours of battery life because they do not have ANC. But the proper eartips gives really good noise isolation.
@@ronontech thank you for the reply! If you were wearing them, without music playing, would they make it easier to hear voices in a noisy room (like say a resultant/pub?)
Can i expect the Bose ear buds to cancel the noice in the office, people talking, Fans, tapping? I just tried sony xm5 headphones and on the street walking test i can still hear cars driving past, and passers walking by talking. In the coffee shop i can still hear everyone talking. The xm5 headphone did not work as well as i expected. They are sony refurb so wondering maybe they are faulty. I expected more.

So let me understand you reviewers talking about same devices yet driving consumers away of the true best sounding earbuds: Between 3 ANC. Sure on gizmos ANC, transparency, spatial or immersive sound, blah, blah which Between 3 have some and do not excel what else matters? Sound to me! Sure gimmicks are nice but sound wise Between 3 ANC beats my XM5, Bose Ultra, app2 usb and of course liberty 4 nc!
I appreciate you view. However, I consider the 3ANCs as one of my top 3 earbuds in my rotation as of today. Another thing, I don't drive anyone in any direction when it comes to what I put on my channel. I review and give my honest opinion on the products in the video. @@ronontechsry man but I don’t think that. I don’t know which device you use but for my end I use s24 and Sony nw a306 Walkman and what you are saying the treble and bass is boosted on Bose that sounds much more unnatural and mids are dominated by bass where Sony bass are well controlled and not only that the mids are well defined and trebles are much more close to realistic and the overall soundstages is wider than Bose. I don’t say Bose is bad but balancing between all frequencies matter, what Bose is not doing. Only emphasis bass and treble. And sometimes in Bose instrument details lacking when high vocals enter. Yes sennheiser is better than both of these but between Bose and Sony if sound quality matters go with Sony wf 1000m5. And LDAC on Sony also give a an impact on sound quality
@@ronontech I see almost all the reviews have been viewed that the QC Ultra sound quality is better than the XM5. Especially I had many issues with the previous gen the XM4 batteries are garbage 4-6 hour listening time to randomly go to 10 mins max and die out instantly.

No Bose qc ultra bass is too much and soundstages are too wide where wf 1000xm5 sounds more accurate to record but yeah it also have a hike on bass, but the good thing is it doesn’t stretching the soundstage too much. And its equalizer is more customizable than Bose. Not only that it’s also shine on LDAC streaming. Seriously if you even compare with sennheiser momentum 4, it will comes way close compare to Bose . Sennheiser sound’s better than these 2 but anc falls behind. So if you want anc and audio quality Sony is the most balanced earbuds.

The Ultras all day. They sound good and you can wear them all day. The fives will tire your ears out eventually.
I agree with you, mostly. I've worn the XM5s for an entire work day with no ear pain. They are very comfortable.
