5 Of The Best Premium ANC Earbuds Reviewed & Compared | Apple, Bose, Jabra, Sony & Technics

- I finally had a chance to test all of the most recently announced flagship earbuds from five of the biggest players in the true wireless audio game. So I reviewed the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd gen (USB-C), the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds, the Jabra Elite 10, the Sony WF-1000XM5 and the Technics EAH-AZ80 in one video to see how these top-of-the-class buds stack up against each other!
Watch the video to find out more!

Disclosure: I bought all the earbuds with my own money except for the Elite 10 as I got a free test sample from Jabra. I will not receive any payment or monetary compensation whatsoever for doing this comparison. No one got preview privileges and no one had any influence on the outcome either. I've watched a lot of earbud reviews and yours is the best! Fantastic job. I especially appreciate the outside call testing.
Thank you for another great review and comparison, Andy! 👍
You're most welcome ☺️
Thanks for the video andy, this is making my day better!
Glad you enjoyed it
excellent comparison video thanks Andy appreciated your effort
Thanks man as always 👍
Thank you Andy this was the best end of the year earbud comparison I've seen yet and I'm not surprised about that. Not being able to shut off ANC or transparency modes to just a normal mode is a head scratcher for me. Especially if they have short battery life or a lot of white noise. But on the other hand if a company finally makes the perfect pair of earbuds you'd have to find something else to review. Thanks again for all of your work in 2023. 💯🔥🔥🇺🇸
Thanks Mike, much appreciated. As for Bose, they had a few chances already to fix things on their top of the line anc buds, so they must know better... 🤔
Very informative video. Thanks!
Another fantastic review!
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 😊
Very nicely done Andy, a good deep dive into the various premium buds on the market. Regards Jeremy
It was about time I reviewed all these 🤦
@@AndysTechTone I would just like to add a comment. I have read and watched other contributors having issues with removing the buds from the case due to their new glossy finish. My answer is no, it is not an issue. I merely push the bud from left to right, or right to left in the case, the bud lifts off the magnet, and then I can easily pick the buds out of the case, I do not, as I have seen, use two fingers to grasp and pull the buds.
@@jeremymorrison3494 I get your point but I feel like that when using different earbuds basically every day I don't have a chance to come up with different ways of doing something as simple as taking the buds out of their case. Other than that I get your point and appreciate the tip
Thanks for another great work!
Excellent review, helpful and informative.
Love my airpods pro 2 as a great all rounder (with android phone and iOS iPad ). For audio quality Status Between ANC is great, and stands out from the crowd in appearance. The audio quality shows how much more hardware and tuning matters compared to codecs.
Fantastic comparison on all the high end ear buds! The communication examples are extra thoughtful! I'm planning to get a AZ80 and wonder how it's doing on comm voices. This is definitely the most insightful high end earbud review so far. Thank you so much for doing this!
How do you like the clarity of the az80?
My old earbuds is Sennheiser MTW 1, so the comfort, better comms and noise cancellation feature are all new. As for the noise profile I feel AZ80 is better on clarity, especially for vocals as they sound more crisp, but keep in mind that it could be due to my MTW 1 earbuds being too outdated 😅
@grumpypop517 ah, I see, thanks for sharing. I have the buds 2 pro, and it sounds muffled to me, so I'm hoping the az80 has better clarity. Waiting for it to arrive by the end of the week
@@radiofreealbemuth And is the Sound any good? Im planning on buying them aswell
@ggando1809 it sounds good to me, and it has better resolution, which makes it easier to hear some background details and separate sound elements. However the buds 2 pro edges it out in bass impact
3:29 great video Andy! The AirPods Pro 2 do allow you to turn on noise cancellation mode with single bud use. I use it this way quite often
Hmm, I couldn't switch over to ANC, but thanks for the info!
@@AndysTechTone you have to enable the feature in the accessibility settings first. Connect them to your iPhone, accessibility , AirPods, noise cancellation with one AirPod. I should have mentioned that, sorry!
@@georgedigenis8718 You're absolutely correct. How could I have overlooked that?!🤦
Great comparison. Thank you

Get video I need new ear buds for my Samsung phone I also have a Samsung watch so was thinking the Samsung buds pro but I hear the sound is not great on calls .Great to videos made in Ireland 🇮🇪
Great review 😊👌
Thanks 😊
Your reviews are both incredibly informative and the best put together of everything available on TH-cam. The rest of the reviewers could learn a thing or two from you on how to present their opinions. Truly great stuff!
Wow, thank you! 🙂
Most thorough and well done, excellent content!
@@electricfatman Thanks man, much appreciated 😊
Great comparison! Or course it’s personal opinion how to rank the best players. But it’s aligned with what I saw in other reviews.
More or less I guess. Thanks for watching!
Great review Andy, very detailed and informative! Before watching this I was going for AZ80, but as an iPhone user I'll buy Airpods Pro (2. gen) instead. Thank you!
Good thinking, thanks for watching 🙂
Love my Apple AirPods Pro 2 thanks for the great review
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 😊
Aye. Did the QC buds ever get a update to improve the call quality
I cannot wait for you to review the Elite 8 Active. I returned both the Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 because I play-tested them both. The aound in both 8 Active and 10 are great. I did not enjoy rhe semi-open fit of rhe 10 due to sound leakage and it hurting the ANC performance. The fit was great, it didnt feel like your ears were being suctioned for orher ANC buds. However, I decided to buy the Elite 8 Active again and have kept them. It helped that they were on sale and I have not looked back. It survives the elements and especially the gym no matter.what cardio and weightlifting one is doing. I like the cream color the besr but the Navy blue is beautiful. Battery life is also superb.
I found that with the 10s, I had to change the eartip size to one bigger. That made a HUGE difference for me.
I wanted the caramel Elite 8 Active but it is sold out in my area, now I'm stuck with the navy... But I just learned you can buy the sleeves for both the 10's and the 8active in all colors! That's right you can switch colors YEEHA and only around $19.99CDN
Very good comparison
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 😊
Great and comprehensive review. I take a lot of calls with my earbuds so I paid particular attention to the microphone portion.
One of the things I liked about the microphone tests is that we got to hear them in a regular quiet environment and real world along the side of the street as if walking along a sidewalk. They all have directional mics so when the mics are reviewed with traffic directly behind them or noise speaker behind them I already expect that noise to not be picked up well. For if walking along a sidewalk tho where the cars aren't behind but along side, thats when the noise really is picked up.
Also got to hear if the manufacturer's direction for the buds in choosing for more "natural" sounding voice or processed noise reduction, or trying for a balance.
I'm trying to give you all the information you guys need, hence the tests in multiple scenarios. Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 🙂
The Best comparison ever..👏👏👏
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 🙂
I have the AZ80 and i love them over my old Airpods and Jaybird Vista 2
Excellent reviews as usual. I have one query. How the Technic AZ 60 mk2 is compared to its elder sibling AZ80 in terms of sound quality.
I have not tested the AZ60mkII so not sure
Yeah. I have the AZ60s and they have problems picking up certain bass from music like hip hop but other music (I listen to a lot of 80s music) sounds good.
Andy you're the best . I'm in love with the Technics . 3 bills but they're very nice and worth it
Yeah, the AZ80s are special, glad you enjoy them too
can u suggest best earbud for bass head sound
Do you think the AZ80 is significantly better in sound than the X5. Just bought X5. Only downside is staying secured in my ear when i golf.
Great video. Great reviews. Many thanks. You have a brilliant Irish accent. Lol.
I have an AZ80, good balance in every respect, especially the stable connectivity on LDAC.The clarity is just a little bit behind the pricy $499 Hifiman Svanar wireless.I also have MTW3 that occasionally use now.
You must love your earbuds that's for sure 😊
Maybe I got a better pair or something but I don't detect any white noise with the bose QC ultras in quiet mode
Great video I need new ear buds for my Samsung phone I also have a Samsung watch so was thinking the Samsung buds pro but I hear the sound is not great on calls .Great to videos made in Ireland 🇮🇪
Just traded my galaxy buds pro 2 in for jabra elite ten. There are some things i could nit pick via their pricepoint for sure but! They are in almost all day, comfort is unreal and sound is great.
They are great buds indeed and better than the Samsung in my opinion
@@AndysTechTone thanks for reply! I wanted to love the samsung as they didn't sound bad and I love the look but absolutely killed my ears (galaxy user). Rocking the Jabras right now. Only buds I have ever been able to keep in all day. Hoping they last. I like the 2 year warranty but hear it's kind of meh? If these last me 2 years I'll be super happy and get from Jabra again because these buds are incredible. They are causing my iems to collect dust.
@@jjayala these Jabras feel really well built to me, so let's hope they'll last at least two years
I wonder why Bose do not offer a more advanced equaliser with pre sets?
Many thanks the excellent review..
I have an Apple ecosystem and already have AirPod Pro and now looking for the world leading ANC, with audiophile quality sound with super base. Which one would you recommend? Secondly have you looked at HiFiMAN TWS800 and B&O Beoplay EX as well?
Haven't tested the two you mentioned but I'm sure you won't get better ANC than what Bose have to offer
Many thanks for your reply.
At 4:36, I happened to notice "OWS Sports" in your Bluetooth list. Can we expect a review video on it soon? 😁
Working on it right now, the review drops in a couple of days
Hi , Andy I have the Apple airpods pro2, Jabra active elite 75, Sony xm5 and Samsung buds pro2 , what is your opinion on Sudio brand headphones, I saw them in Apple resellers stores
Don't know, never tried them
Out of all those earbuds you have which sound better for music ?
How this channel ain't got at least 500k followers is beyond me
Well, you can imagine my frustration then. But I appreciate your support nonetheless 😎
Probably because there's tons of people with common sense who aren't gonna be fools and pay $300 for earbuds.
Some enjoy a detailed yet straightforward review without the comedy act that's so prevalent out here these days.
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff it has nothing to do with fooling, everybody has his own priorities and needs
Fantastic work as usual. But having tried all of these buds for some time I gotta say there is something really odd with your anc and transparency tests .Bose transparency is fantastic but hissy, second best after airpods and xm5 anc is amazing with foam tips. Other than that I agree with everything else . Great job.
O also when testing spatial audio try turning off Atmos on your phone and let the buds do all the work .makes big difference in my opinion .
I was surprised by the results of my tests too so I repeated them couple of more times, in multiple scenarios, with different sorts of noises etc. Not sure if you actually did side-by-side testing with all the buds at the same time. Tracks mastered in Dolby Atmos were created for the best spatial experience possible so of course you use them for testing Dolby Atmos capabilities. If you feed the buds with a stereo source then the buds will do some upmixing but that's not even close to how real Atmos-mixed sources can sound.
Awesome Video,
Thanks, glad you liked it 😊
If I narrow my selections down to the Sony & Technics, as I’ve had the others, which would you recommend? I care most about sound quality, including volume, & at least a decent ambient mode. I do own a iPhone and a Samsung phone
I'd probably pick the AZ80
Just got the Jabra after some eq tune sounds fantastic but not really loud enough, now waiting for the technics, PerL pro and the B&O xl man there has to be a perfect earbud
Perfect earbuds? No such thing unfortunately. But at least it gives us a good excuse to keep buying and trying... 😊
@@AndysTechTone Absolutely 😂 in my first night using the Jabra to sleep the left side dies in 5 hours and the right side has 20% left after 7hrs. Not really sure what’s going on.
Between Technics, SM5 and the Jabra , considering comfort, fit for small ears, ANC, classical music and call quality ..what would be your choice? Great video...looking forward to more.
Maybe the Jabra especially for small ears
I think the AZ80 is also a good choice .
I have decided to get Technics AZ80 but read in another review the max volume is lowest compared to other buds. Could you please confirm this as I like to listen music a bit loud and will this (max volume) be an issue compared to Sony XM5 ? Thanks.
Been using the AZ-80'S for over half a year now, and the volume hasn't been an issue. You might have to turn it up a few notches higher vs. the XM5's, for ex., but I doubt you're going to have to worry about maxing out your volume. But in the end, it's all personal preference.
@@8a8i8 Appreciate your reply.
@@8a8i8 what do you think about the sound quality?
This was an interesting review, since you said the anc on the sony's were the worst performing to even the jabra
That was a surprising finding to me too, but this is what I experienced throughout my tests nonetheless
Please would you be able to review the Jlab Epic Edition, I think they are going to be or already are strong competitors against top of the top premium earbuds
As soon as I can get my hands on a set, I'll review those buds. Not sure when that will happen though...
I just picked these up. So far, they're quite impressive, especially in the build quality department. Jlab didn't cut any corners there as the case is metal, and it's very heavy. The earbuds themselves are high-quality and perform admirably, but I don't want to step on any toes here with any additional information, so I'll let Andy do his thing. 😁
@AndysTechTone appreciated you responding, and no problem.
did you only test these on an apple?
For me sound quality is my first priority thus all of them has ANC and only minor differences ANC of each other that's why i go with the AZ80.
And you're not wrong 😊
can you please tell me the difference between the jabra elite 8 active earbuds and sony wh-ch720n headphones
The E8A are in-ear buds and the CH720 are over-ear headphones, so not sure what other differences you want to know about
Compare best buds for soundstage and instrument separation, clarity. A lot of other reviewers put the Tecnics AZ80 above the XM5 and Sennheiser Momentum 3.
I would too . Az80 soundstage is amazing
The differences are subtle and the perception of the soundstage can vary depending on how deep the buds sit in your ears I reckon. But the AZ80, the XM5 and the MTW3 are also my top 3 in terms of imaging and soundstage.
@@AndysTechTone Thanks. The AZ80's seem to be a great earbud in so any aspects.
@@siy01 that's why I'd probably pick them myself if I didn't use an iPhone as my daily driver where the APP2 makes a touch more sense...

That sounds like a good deal to me!
Hey Andy! Great review! I would like to know what is the top 3 best earbuds for the following aspects (no budget):
*they are in order of importance
1- No stem or big touch area, like the Bose's or the Denon's
2- Comfort (not too big, that stays in ear for long periods)
3- Warm, full and energetic sound
4- Wide soundstage
5- Strong ANC
6- Good transparency
7- Some extra features, with good connectability
I was thinking of the XM5's, AZ80's or the Jabra Elite 10's...
It sounds like the AZ80s were made for you...
Well, the Sennheiser MTW4 are a small step up but internally they have the same guts as the MTW3. Still would have been great to see how they stack among these other premium offerings.
The MTW4 came out after the video was made and I haven't had a chance to test it yet
I had the MTW3's and I hated them. The connectivity was really bad and the ANC was terrible. Sounded good but overall I really didn't enjoy anything else about them. I ended up giving them away and bought Sony. I'll never buy senheiser again.
Hi! Can you include the reported problems of any earbuds? Because I bought the Sennheiser MTW4 and after 4 months of seldom use, the left earbud has a problem with battery stuck in 10%. Amazon gave me a replacement, and it too suffered the same. And upon investigating, most people have the same problem. Niw Amazon told me that they can’t replace it no more. And I have to bring it to any Sennheiser service center which is not available near our place. I feel a got robbed with this brand. 😢😢😢
Including allleged or reported issues is beyond the scope of my videos I'm afraid. That's unless I experience any of it myself
Hi. Please, i need an answer. I have both Airpods Pro 2 and Jabra Elite 10. I feel like the Jabra Elite 10 lacks volume compared to my Airpods Pro 2. Please, can someone tell me if it’s supposed to be the case? I just got my Elite 10 yesterday
Ahh in the same boat. I really think apple kicks through a bit more but the bass EQ on jabra seems more elite. If you use Spotify, there are more features to make them louder
What is the best for rock? Ac Dc, led zeppelin, this kind of music.
Good stuff! There just isn’t a bud that does everything good…
AZ80
The AZ80 are close indeed....
You can use a single side AirPods Pro with ANC
Yeah, I know, sorry about that. It's just that it's disabled by default and I forgot about all those settings in iOS after pairing the new buds. Rookie mistake 😳
Booooom! Thanks, Andy
😎
An-dy!..An-dy!..An-dy!.. ✊🏼 🎉
Still rooting you on. your reviews are the best!
Haha 😁 thanks very much 😎
Why no Sennheiser ? They just released the Momentum 4 , but they had the 3’s. Most people have that in their top 3
How about comparison between XM5 and Sennheiser TW Momentum 3 (how come you don't include them here, I gather you're not a fan)?
These are all recently released earbuds, the MTW3 being older with the MTW4 just around the corner.
@@AndysTechTone I currently have XM4 and when fully charged they last about 20 minutes then shut down. Should I scrap them and get the XM5? I'm a Sony fanboy but want something reliable. Thanks.
The recharge numbers for the AZ80 are wrong.
You get 1 hour recharge every 10 mins.
Good comparison, but wearing Xm5 properly will take ANC to another level, their mics for phone call has greatly improved.
Only gullible fools will pay $300 for earbuds.
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff most of them are in the same price range if not higher

I tested xm5 with all eartips and on no occasion did the anc on give better results than off, I had to return them
Which one is better for sound quality and calling, Sony xm5 or Jabra 10?
Watch the video and then you can decide for yourself
No Denon? no B&W S2?
Correct observation.
Jabra is best for the calls. Their microphone quality is top.
Just got the Jabra elite 10s cocoa for 207
How'd you find it so far?
Like em more than my air pods pros gave those to my girl friend 😂
It makes little sense that on pretty much every other review I've watched, the Sony WF-1000XM5 are considered to have the best ANC yet in this one here they are only 5th best? Something not adding up.
Maybe I'm wrong but I was surprised by my own results too. And at the end of the day we talk about differences which you would mostly not even notice sitting on a train and listening to your favourite tunes at or above 60-70% of volume.
@@AndysTechTone its kind of annoying as just when I think I've made my mind up to get the Sony's, I see this and I'm back to pondering over the decision again. 😩
@@streetspirit956 From all the info available, it seems Bose’s recent QuietComfort Ultra are a little better at ANC than Sony’s XM5. But we’re not talking dramatic differences and both would be excellent for virtually anyone looking for noise isolation in public, etc. But I understand what you’re saying in that Andy’s ranking seems a little off compared to many others. The XM5 come with these proprietary foam eartips. You can look more into it, channels like AREGINA have excellent videos with data and details. These foam tips can cause fit issues with some people. Others just prefer silicone because foam can be a pain in the ass to clean and have to replace much more often than silicone.
If these foam tips are causing issues with getting a seal, even if just subtle, slight issues, then ANC can take a noticeable hit, particularly with these earbuds. The reason is because these earbuds rely a little more on their excellent passive noise isolation that can be achieved from the foam tips alone. It appears ANC isn’t as responsible for noise attenuation on the XM5 as you may find in other earbuds. You can see this in the very well done videos on other channels. Measurements, graphs and data showing that even switching to silicone eartips on the XM5 cause a more noticeable hit to ANC performance compared to the XM4, for example. So if someone gets a better fit with another pair of earbuds like the AZ80, the ANC can appear to perform better. Especially if it’s comparable in the first place.
@@streetspirit956 Is it the ANC feature alone you want to get the XM5 for? These buds offer you a complete package across the board with all those extra features, a good fit, the compact size, a great battery life, codecs etc. There is nothing to be annoyed about I guess...
I have the Bose and the Sony and the AnC on Bose it’s way superior also the base acoustic.
There's seems something is off with each of these premium earbuds. I think Status 3ancs are a better choice.
You can always find something to nitpick and complain about I guess. Regardless of price 😊
AirPods is more comfortable than Jabra elite 10 ? Huh
Hali,
Nem tapasztaltál semmi akadozást, szétkapcsolást vagy egyéb problémákat a Bose QC Ultra Earbudsnál?
Köszi a választ!
I notice you have an iPhone but do you do all your test on iphones? I ask this because i notice reviewers tend to be bias but not like every other ear bud suck but testing all of these on an iPhone is not fair. Airpods an beats only supports the most basic codecs an so does iPhone. Besides jabra most others have codecs that's cant be abused by an iPhone. Nobody would test airpods an sony on a sony phone but using ldac against aac. But its fair the ither way around? If they buy the product its to fully use the products but when used on iPhone alot if these products dont perform the same. Like anc an ambient dont work as wll an music quality even both on aac wont sound the same the airpods have a ckear advantage.
I noticed reviews the use both phones say its a clear winner an even things like anc work better not on iPhones. Just asking because it makes things a bias decision because you dint buy 300 earbuds an then purposely not use half it's features
I use both my iPhone and my Sony Xperia for testing. The main reason is the differences in features and settings that are available through the different versions of the same app sometimes and of course there is the codec situation too. If you watch my videos closely you can notice the two different phones I use all the time. Actually I'm thinking about upgrading to a new Android phone so I can test more recent codecs such as LC3 or aptX Lossless, so I take this issue seriously. I always try to show the whole picture when doing my reviews and shed light on differences between platforms if there is any.
Is the money difference that good you guys reviewers don’t even mention Between 3 ANC? Sure gizmos wise 3 ANC isn’t top yet sound quality? My xm5, QC ultra, app2 usb, liberty 4nc, earfun free 3 anc don’t even come close when it comes to pure sound quality
First, I believe you did not get my reasoning behind why these five buds are in this video. It's either that or you did not even watch the video. Second, it's not a "best sounding earbuds" comparison. It's not in the title and there is more to earbuds than just sound quality anyway. Third, if I could afford buying every single earbud for testing, I probably would. If you send me a test sample, I will definitely do review those! But what I don't understand is that there is a (free) video with five products (four of which I paid for with my own money) and yet you guys always find something to complain about. Fourth, if you have the QC Ultra, the AirPods Pro 2, the XM5 and the Between 3 ANC then what do you need a comparison for anyway? 😎
@@AndysTechTone wish I owned them but like you tried them to make my own final pic. Surely 3ANC belongs in my top 5 and this with average gizmos
AirPods Pro 2 are solid fit! Are you serious? After these words no sense to continue watching your video.
Fit varies from person to person and all I can do is sharing my own experience in my videos. And as you could see if you actually watch the review that I run with the Airpods Pro 2 having no issues whatsoever, so yeah, the fit is solid in my ears.
@@AndysTechTone The main and might say the only issue with the AirPods Pro 2 according to reviews is not a solid fit compared to Bose earbuds. It is not correct to describe just your experience ignoring a large amount of customers. In your case, I would say that in spite of many complaints about comfort your experience with the Airpods Pro 2 is luckily better. Thank you
@@keisersoze42 Even those who complain about the fit only share their own experience. I understand that you may have an issue with the fit of the buds and this might be the right place to bring it up too but pls allow me to share my own thoughts in my videos
@@AndysTechTone With this message you have just confirmed that reading reviews from different customers is more helpful than from one person who wants to show just his experience. Thank you for your attention
So completly unrelated to the video. I have the sony xm4 earbuds and the xm5 over the ears.
No comparison, hands down the xm4 anc dominates the newer, over the ear xm5s
The high white noise for the bose creates a static noise similar to a car radio out of signal range. Its unbearable... Everything else about this earbud is outstanding, but the ANC defect just butchers these eaebuds to becoming unuseable for many people...
I think the mics on all these buds are horrific at best
Yeah and the Sony tips break down after about 6 months but try finding new ones? Impossible! For this ridiculous reason I will never buy Sony again.
The problem I see with his videos is too much content on ANC and apps. Normal people just want to know the sound performance on different music genres. Seriously, you buy earbuds or headphones to listen to music or phone calls. No one stands outside a windy night next to a train station or highway to listening music.
Each reviewer focuses on different aspects of a product. I do share real life experiences and don't do measurements for example. Some reviewers do "hair dryer tests" to see how wind noise is handled. I take out the buds on a 15K run on the seaside instead and form my opinion that way. And it matters to many people even if you don't think it does. Priorities might vary. Most people don't even know what they want from earbuds in terms of a sound signature let alone specific genre recommendations. If that's something you want then I understand the compliant.
With all that said, if you really want to get the complete picture before deciding what to buy then you should watch multiple videos anyway. You know, different perspectives, different thoughts on the same subject to help you form your own opinion. Why would you want to watch the same thing over and over? How would that help?
This Video is a European point of view Asian sony is treated as cousin from fareast!
What's a European point of view with regard to earbuds?
You must be Hungarian 😉 No offense, I hope. It's an observation.
None taken, I am indeed 🇭🇺
Way tooooo long a review. Good info tho
Yeah, I agree 😳 But it's either good info or a short video. Speaking of shorts though, I made a few to highlight the pros and cons of each
Jabra has better ANC than SONY xm5 ??????? Unreliable review...
I'm aware that personal experiences can greatly vary due to variances in fit and other factors but I wonder if you have tested all these side by side yourself?
Air pods shouldn't even be in these videos. Everyone knows
Everyone knows what exactly?
No Denon buds? Your list is incomplete, man. More over: you probably have avoided the very best audiophile grade buds by not including the Denons.
These are the best ANC buds in my opinion and not the best audiophile grade buds. That said, I haven't had a chance to test the Denons yet.
I own the Bose QC and the QC Ultra II earbuds, and neither of these earbuds has "white noise" in the transparency mode. In fact, NO other review I have read or watched agrees with your assertion. Evidently, you either have a defective set of earbuds, or you are just imagining things.
Nor does the alleged "white noise," "muffle the bass response." Honestly, no other review on the planet agrees with this claim. Nor do my QC II Ultra earbuds have ANY white noise whatsoever! NOBODY agrees with you and I own the earbuds and I don't agree with you. So I speak from firsthand experience. These buds have the best bass response on the planet bar none. They are so good they rival my Bose NC 700 over-ear headphones, and they are one of the highest rated over-ear headphones anywhere, even though they are three years old. You are misleading those that listen to your reviews and I am not sure why. Possibly, as I mentioned, you have a defective set of earbuds.
I work out with the QC Ultra II earbuds, and they are amazing workout buds. They have the best fit, the most secure fit, and the best controls of any earbuds I have ever owned by far. I have two pairs of Samsung earbuds, and the QC II Ultra earbuds just blow them away. The Sony XM5 earbud's volume control is a joke and their audio quality is muddy compared to the Bose earbuds, according to some reviews (different reviewers rate these earbuds differently in audio quality). I don't own the Sony XM5 earbuds, so I don't have firsthand experience with them. My comments are based on the reviews I have read.
Audio quality is stunning on the QC II Ultra earbuds. I am not sure if any other set of earbuds can compete. As I mentioned, the audio quality on these earbuds rivals that of over-ear headphones, which is a stunning accomplishment.
I am not a Bose fanboy. These earbuds don't have multipoint connection and wireless charging and those are major flaws - I agree. They also have problems connecting to the Bose App at times, which is irritating. But they do connect to my laptop and my phone almost flawlessly, and that is what I consider to be important. So these earbuds are not perfect, but they do have the best ANC, the best audio, the best fit and the best control system in my opinion and these are MAJOR, crucially important factors to consider when buying high-end earbuds.
Let me make a few facts straight:
First of all, each and every ANC earbud produces some hiss or noise when the active noise cancelling and/or the transparency mode is enabled. Some more, some less. I put the Bose in the "more hiss" category after testing all five of these buds side by side, one after the other, repeatedly.
Second, I never said anything about the white noise muffling the bass response, it would not make much sense. All I said was that the hiss can mask some of the finest detail in the treble. And in fact I also said that the bass was solid with all the warmth and punch you need.
Third, I'm not sure what other reviews you refer to but I suggest you look up some real ones too.
Fourth, I explained why I would not take these buds to the gym on the regular myself but that's just because I use other earbuds as well and there are (much) better options out there to cover that use case. However I can accept that as long as these are your only earbuds then you can use them for workouts all day long and they should be just fine.
Five, the ANC is indeed the best, I agree with you there. The audio is close, but there are better ones in my opinion and that can be a matter of personal taste, so no point arguing over that. The fit again can vary so much from person to person that it's not even worth getting into a debate over that, I accept that you feel these are the best for you. The touch controls, again, while good, not the best in my opinion and that's based on side-by-side testing with multiple earbuds. I also wonder if you have used any of the other four buds from the video and came to your conclusions after hours, days or even weeks of testing?
Finally, I would be interested in your reasoning as to why I would want to mislead my audience...
I tested dozens of TWS (sport) earbuds from JBL, Urbanista, LG, TOZO, Jaybird... and no model has really completely satisfied me
Thank you, because I discovered some of these models on this channel like the tone TF8Q which was a solid option but not perfect for my needs (I really enjoyed the plug & wireless feature tho, before that, I had to buy many Bluetooth transmitters of questionnable quality)
Then the Jabra elite 10 came out and delivered like never before
No set of earbuds was able to meet more than 3 of my 5 fundamental criterias :
Full customization of the commands (pressing once to skip track is more convenient)
IPX7 minimum (I run 200km/month and sweat a lot)
Physical buttons (very important, touch controls are unreliable)
Multipoint (for my watches and my phones)
Loud sound with a lot of bass
With this model, Jabra was finally able to give me everything I expected and even more
I wasn't a big fan of ANC and transparency on the other models, mostly because it was trash, now I use these modes all the time with ease and pleasure, espacially the ANC which is really good from my point of view
present like @mrwhosetheboss and we will watch to the end .....am a great editor and can add depth to your videos ......
Fantastic review. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 🙂
