I tried both of them and thought the Quiet Comfort sounded better and was also more comfortable. Plus they were $100 less, so it was an easy choice for me.
Slider/touch volume control is insane when you think of the risk of accidentally sliding the volume too high to max volume. Pushing a button offers finer grain control, and when do you need to instantly blast the volume anyway, it makes no sense.
a bit late to this but my old sony xm4's finally died so i was looking around for new headphones and i think im going regular quiet comfort for the same reason i ended up disabling the touch controls on my sony's because i could never get used to and since i use them at work it was always a mess trying to adjust stuff on the fly while handling work i just want to press a button.
I went with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Over-Ear Wireless Headphones. Minimalist look with the look and buttons. They are awesome. I haven't experienced any issues wih the volume slider personally. The cups are deep and comfortable along with the headband.
I was looking for information on the Bose QC 2023, and you guys delivered amazingly. Bose has just released the QC 2023 as the new QC SC, a somewhat cheaper model. The SC apparently stands for Soft Case, which seems to be the only difference between the two. Anyway, the SC version is the same but with a soft case. Hope I am making sense! Love you guys btw.
As of November 2024, Bose QC (non-ultra) selling at Best Buy for $199 USD [MSRP $349 release date September 2023], and QC Ultra for $329 [MSRP $429 release date October 2023] now both on sale in the 2024 Holiday season. Price drop on QC from Retail to sale price is $150, and the Ultra dropped from $429 to $329 a difference of $100. that is a difference of $130 if you buy the QC rather than Ultra at the sale price. Initial price difference when both were released in Fall 2023 between QC $349 and Ultra $429 was $80 USD in price. Therefore, in the 2024 Holiday season, the QC is $130 cheaper than the QC Ultra. Note: QC is better than the older QC-45.
Picked up Bose regular qc headphones as the QC SC (qc with soft case) from Costco for 220 dollars usd and I love them. I use it at work to play ambient focus music while using full anc and it’s awesome
I used many headphones, but i have to be honest,Bose models are the most comfortable. Listening them for hours and hours makes them only more comfortable, almost addictive to wear them. ANC superb,of course.
I really enjoy your videos!! The puns are a nice touch. 😂 A quick question, I loved the 45s as my ears fit inside the cup without touching or too much pressure. I tried using the Sony XM-4 but after an hour, I had to take them off due to ear pain. Are the Ultras/QCs similar to the 45s regarding the clamp and depth of the cans? Thanks for the great content and you have a new subscriber!!
Thanks for the excellent videos. Some videos state purely from a comfort standpoint QC is better than the Ultras. But according to you its mostly similar. I have relatively bigger ears, which one would you recommend me ?
Bose was my dream once. And couple of years back I got Bose 700, but the experience was a pain. Connection was not stable.lwas hearing occasional disturbance when connected to two or more devices, the lady voice who says something connected blah blah ... Gave me feeling of wearing cheap Chinese headphones. The only thing I was happy with was sound. But it killed that experience with other things happening. Had to return it and now I'm afraid of even trying it. Currently thinking of Momentum 4 but not sure if I spend that much money
Fantastic review. I agree on the buttons. Not sure why companies need to force unnecessary tech in places its not needed. Still happy with the QC35II which I bought last year over the QC45 and QC700. The QC35II also has a separate button which I use to select NC level. Button Lives Matter too.
That u can do also on the Ultras. I had the QC35, QC35 II, QC45, still have the Bose 700 and now the Ultras. After many years, the QC35 are not state of the art anymore. In comparison, the NC is very weak and the microphones are unusable for meetings in noisy enviroments like in a restaurant or a cafe.
I've had the QC Ultras for a bit and they are my overall favorite so far (mainly because of the lack of comfort on the XM5's), but they are definitely not perfect. The comfort and ANC are noticeably better than the XM5's, I just wish the controls were as intuitive as the XM5's. I never felt the touch controls were an issue on the Xm5's, and the delay on the power button when turning the QC Ultras on is annoying, especially since if you hold the button for too long before the startup chime starts, it just turns itself back off again.
@@BlueDroneBlues I’m thinking about doing the same. Even though the ultras are on sale, they are still $150 more than QC. I don’t think I can justify that
Great video! Is it true that the Ultras don't have an option to completely turn off ANC & transparency? You know, "normal" mode? I would think that would have an impact to battery life.
I am with you guys in this button thing. I have the bose nc700. And you know what happens? Whenever I put them on under my hoodie during some rains...they bug out sooo much! I can't hear anything except "Battery 2 hours and 30 minutes" over and over again. I am not doing touch again. Ever.
Hey guys thank you for the great comparison. I have a question about the size of the ear cup are they the same or one of them is larger and more comfy?
This review is God Tier!! Exactly what I needed!! On the fence tho to justify the price difference for Ultra. If sound and comfort is better, it would be a strong consideration. I'm in LOVE with the button configuration on the qcs tho..it's a tough decision for premium sound!!
I got to test the QC Ultra and the Sony not long ago and I was shocked with the ANC and the comfort of the Ultra, better then the Sony. I like the sound over the Sony as well.
I agree, buttons are better than touch controls on a headphone. Although a slider for volume, if accurate could be okay. Personally I prefer simplistic controls, Pauze/Play button, volume button and next/previous. which can be reduced to 2-3 buttons, by long press, short press, fast press, etc. And also, always a physical On and Off button. That can be long press on the connectivity button too (bluetooth) for example.
Watching this video with my new QC Ultra's. So glad I got them €100, cheaper during Amazon Black Friday deal. All the cons mentioned are not there for me. Volume slider takes some getting used to but in my case it works really well. But the ANC on this guy makes me want to throw away or burn my old XM4'S 😂 Unearthly good ANC. Just scary, so good. There are some Ultra-owners on Reddit who complained about squeaking noises from the earcups and hinges😮? I have not witnessed that (yet?)🤞
@tdmduc The earcups/hinges creak when moving the head/jaw, even noticeable when walking. I've already had 4 replacement, currently waiting my 5th pair.
@tdmduc Highly doubt it. Haven't seen a non-creaking pair yet and had over a dozen in my hand. You probably just not sensitive enough to notice this but it's a well known issue a typical design-flaw/poor quality control. If you happened to have a perfect pair, be happy and let's hope you never have to replace it with another pair under the warranty. I give one more chance with this last 5th pair, if it will be the same, then I'll return it and just keep the new QuiteComfort instead, what I also ordered.
You mentioned for $80 more, you would get the ultras. But what about right now? Black Friday sales. Regular are $199. Ultras are $329. Are the ultras worth it for an extra $129?
@@JasonYuschik That's what I'm wondering and trying to decide before the sale ends today. I've never had a nice set of headphones, so I'm sure I'd be happy with either, but I fear regretting my decision either way lol
I bought both to see which one I like better. I wanted to like the QC Ultra, it's better, sound wise, than the regular QC. But it's less comfortable and I have a big head and big ears that stick out. The QC45 is the only headphones that I find comfortable and I have tried a ton of headphones. The slider volume wasn't a problem for me. Plus it seems like the intermittent connection when using multipoint connection is 90% gone for the most part. The intermittent audio still persists on the QC, much like the QC45. But I ended up returning the QC Ultra and kept the QC as I find it more comfortable and that's the dealbreaker for me. I think they are at a point where the sound is so good that it's just a marginal difference when it comes to sound between the two. So the QC sounds good, same exact fit as the QC45, therefore that is the one that I decided to keep. I am still debating on getting the QC Ultra just to have and see if I should break them in. Since they are on sale for $300 lol.
I went with the QC SC, a soft case for a huge saving on the one with the hard case and even more on the ultras. Wanted comfort and top tier anc for my commute, and the soft case version came in well cheaper than the Sony XM4s, nevermind the XM5s

Soundcore Space One rival anything in this price range - literally $90 on Amazon, very comfortable. The Pro's added features did not add to the cost justification. Bose is the best, but Space One is fantastic on a budget.
Im being forced to look for new headphones since my Bose QC35 have succumbed to the self-power on defect. After buying the QC, i'm returning it. The build quality/feel is so cheap compared to the QC35. I hope the Ultra is better and less plastic......
If the price difference is only $80, of course, get the Ultra. But the difference between QC(SC) and Ultra where I live (France) is 170€! So, 199 for QC SoftCase vs 369(down from 399€ temporarily). Worth paying 169-199 euros to get Ultra? I doubt it! I took QC SC over regular, hard case option, because 70€ for a carrying case is outrageous!
Hi, I believe you can simply get the hard case for €20 now. I think it's better. I have just ordered the QC 2023 on amaz** for the prime days in France, €220. in green. The black ones are at €300. A huge difference.
Touch control on those devices is just a nasty disease as vertical video syndrome. Dang it... Why😭.. shredded two QCII, heavy used. Would like to buy the ultras. But no switch and control buttons like on the CQ(no ultras)? Bose, why in the world... Btw: really good Video! Thx dudes
I am asking this cuz I have a lot of headphones and earbuds on the pricier side and I need to know how to keep them running cuz I rarely use them so mostly the earbuds don’t work I bought an Apple AirPods 3 in 2022 and when I tried using them in 2024 they died and also out of warranty😢

I just returned the Quiet comforts.. I forgot how Bose's EQ is. And with only 3 EQ settings it's not usable. yes decent ANC but pitiful Aware mode I couldn't justify the cost.
Oddly, I've never wanted a set of Bose anything. I think that their price to performance metric is probably why I have a certain loathing for Bose as a brand. May the Bose be with you? LOL. Thanks for the great content lads.
@@DHRME Hi. The second part was supposed to be a joke. You all like your puns, so change Bose to nose in the second part. Again, I hope you take it with the humor it is intended. :)
I'm Germany the Comfort retailed BELOW 200 EURO and the Ultra BELOW 300 EURO last week. I've tried them both and have to say, skip them. Way, way, was too expensive and the old NC700 still offers a higher value for money especially with the "conversation" function. Bose seriously messed up these headphones, especially the Ultra although there was much potential. For journies I advice the PX8 from B&W or the Bose NC700. For high quality sound incl. overall package the Focal Bathys.

In your video you cycle with the headset on your head. You never should. NEVER. It's extremely dangerous, you lose attention capacities. In France, it's forbidden for that simple reason. You should better always wear a helmet, and no earbud at all. You are giving a terrible example.

Thx dudes
in the RTINGS website qc 35 ii is clear winner in terms of sound quality neutral sound and bass 😊😊 qc 35 ii is the best still
you make an excellent job guys
Cheers!
Hey guys lovely. Review full stop I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a $100 headphones under $100. Do you know anyone's better than the space? Ones in active noise-canceling are the solar fluids better than space ones in active noise cancel.
Which one hundred dollar headphones have The best noise canceling
Nothing Absolutely Nothing is better in this price range than Soundcore Space One sooo many features, all day comfort amazing sound.
Do you like these headphones more than the AirPods Max?
How you compare with Anker Bose QC vs AnkerOne or Anker QC 45
Do you think it worth to buy the Bose QC vs Soundcore One?
Great information!
Glad it was helpful!
touch controls is a fancy term for cheaper buttons.
Interested to know how the new qc compare to the qc45 /qcse.
Good question man.
Okay. Let’s say if cost of these 2 now sits at these. What’s that verdict would be
QC- $167.80
QC Ultra -$249-$285
I just returned the Quiet comforts.. I forgot how Bose's EQ is. And with only 3 EQ settings it's not usable. yes decent ANC but pitiful Aware mode I couldn't justify the cost.
precise and good
That looks like a Dutch house, are you in NL?
Oddly, I've never wanted a set of Bose anything. I think that their price to performance metric is probably why I have a certain loathing for Bose as a brand. May the Bose be with you? LOL. Thanks for the great content lads.
Hunter! Agree. And their prices don’t swing as much as Sony for example. But can’t deny that quiet and comfort though!
@@DHRME Sure, but $350? Ouch.
Yep. The pricing is way off!
I had Bose iems and headphones back in 2006. No idea how they sounded though it’s been forever and both only work on one side lol.
@@Hijynx87 Lol
Got qc ultra at 300💵 in india
Two things;! I wish Bose would ditch the 2.5 cable and go to 3.5. And secon, thanks for not picking your Bose on video. :)
Agree in tbe first part. What does tbe second part of your comment mean?
@@DHRME Hi. The second part was supposed to be a joke. You all like your puns, so change Bose to nose in the second part. Again, I hope you take it with the humor it is intended. :)
@@sockhopsinger haha don't know how I missed that!
Battery lives matter!!!
QC is selling for 229 euros on Amazon
They aren't removing buttons because they think it's a better experience, they're doing it to save money.
You're great! But you classic style of review works slightly better ;)
🙏 Thanks for the feedback!! Any specific reason why? We’re also figuring it out 😁
@@DHRME Well, following comes off-top of my mind: on-screen text/graphic, more refined thoughts (quite obvious as it's no/less live), sharper humor (I personally like when focus/punch bounces from one of you to another) 👍
Thanks again! Sometimes we just need to change it up for ourselves. ;)
@@DHRME @seefeel2043 is right; now,you look like 2 grandpas discussing past experience that never returns ;)
I got QC for 150€, so it was no brainer 😅
Please review OnePlus Buds 3
Just got the ultra for 350.
Touch controls on headphones are 🍑
Got QC for $160 in India 😂
@@ashishbahure3578 how is d ANC?? cause i have these too but didn’t feel upto d mark.. like when i am in a car and my ANC upto 100% still i can hear a lil water droplets when it’s raining
To be honest I own both and the QC sound better
How is comapred to xm4?
👍

In your video you cycle with the headset on your head. You never should. NEVER. It's extremely dangerous, you lose attention capacities. In France, it's forbidden for that simple reason. You should better always wear a helmet, and no earbud at all. You are giving a terrible example.

Magical Energy?
Between these 2, you should get the XM5s, they're available for about USD250 right now.
I have both. The Ultras are much better for me. Much more comfortable. Better sound (For me). Just the microphones are in the XM5 a bit better.
@@joemueller8766 they are not USD 100-200 better
No way, have you seen the sad people on Reddit with their broken hinges?
Sony should really do something about their quality control.
There are even customers who swap their XM5 for older XM4.
@@joemueller8766 I went through six exchanges due to creaky headbands and earcups that clunk and each one had the same issues. The XM5s don’t have this issue.
Sony sound sucks
bose app is always garbage. setup all your settings in the app and then delete it.
Nope.
Bla bla bla bla. No real world test. Bose 700 mic goes crazy after a while. Those mic get filled with dirty not best for gym or cycling. But when it’s new it’s perfect I bought the non headphone never had an issues with the mic or anc after abusing it for long hope the new Bose fixed it but the look look bacon the new one. Waiting for an upgrade of the 700
