    Collecting headphones is a bit of a hobby (especially since I'm noise sensitive). I wouldn't say I'm a huge audiophile, but I do listen to a TON of music. For earbuds... I have the AirPods Pro 2, Bose QC II, and Sony XM5s. For over ear, I HAD the AirPods Max, Bose 700, and Sony XM5s (cans). I got rid of all 3 because I realize I prefer earbuds. AirPods Max... way too heavy (and overpriced). Kept hearing my heartbeat, which was freaky... and the ANC was just ok. Bose is always great and I preferred them to the Sony's, but look... they're all good. Just comes down to preference.
    When it comes to ecosystems... I'm all in on Apple (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, MacBook, Mac Mini). To keep it simple, I'd say this... I use the Bose QC II when I need to block out noise. I also think they sound better than the AirPods Pro when it comes to listening to music. The Sony's sound great (and maybe a tad better than the AirPods Pro), but if you're in the Apple ecosystem... you'd be foolish not to use the AirPods Pro. I watch a lot of TV with my friend and she and I both use the "shared" pairing feature on the Apple TV. They also connect so easily with other devices.
    If you're NOT an Apple user and you want the best ANC and a great sound signature... Bose (but get the new Ultra ones)... or Sony (but I say Bose). Yeah, the Sony's have wireless charging and you can pair with more than one device at a time, but... It's just an extra click. Doesn't bug me.
    To me, Bose reigns supreme. Wish they didn't (their music app sucks), but... my two cents. I only go with AirPods Pro because I have way too many fucking Apple devices (they own my soul).

      I’m planning to buy new earbuds for my iPhone 13, it’s the only apple device I’ve. Which one would you recommend Bose or AirPods Pro 2?

    • @twbuddha
      @twbuddha 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@karanveer3080 It depends on what’s most important to you. Bose has MUCH better ANC, so if you’re noise sensitive (like I am) and want to tune out the world… go with the Bose. If you want the best transparency mode and something lightweight… go with the AirPods. If you care about sound quality while on a phone call, I recall the AirPods being better (but not by much). If you need a case that’s super light and pocketable… AirPods.
      As for sound quality… they’re both good. AirPods have a better crispness (though the “Spatial” thing is a bit gimmicky to me; I leave it off), but the Bose sound slightly better to me (more bass). I find the Bose fit my ear better (meaning… once they’re in, they’re not going anywhere… whereas I constantly have to keep adjusting the AirPods to stay in, but also to keep a somewhat decent seal; you might want to try the Comply foam tips to see if those help).
      Everyone’s different, though. Your best bet is to buy both and plan to return one. At the end of the day, I use the Bose for my MacBook (because I value ANC above all else)… but I use the AirPods for other things (my Mac Mini, the Apple TV, my iPhone). When I’m out and about, I bring the AirPods (again… light, easy to carry, and great transparency). When I go on a trip, I bring both. AirPods for most situations. Bose for the flight and/or when people are being way too loud. I wish the AirPods had better ANC, but oh well.

      @@twbuddha I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. I’m leaning towards buying the AirPods Pro 2, but my main concern is their durability-whether they’ll last more than a year. I don’t want to spend $250+ on something I’ll need to replace within two years. I’m specifically buying them for college use, to listen to music during breaks or while reading a book.

    As someone who has owned The Bose QCII, The Apple AirPod Pro II, and both the Sony WF-1000XM4 and XM5. They ALL HAVE POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES. The BIGGEST NEGATIVE for the Sony’s were THE COMFORT. The BOTH gave my SEVERE EAR FATIGUE AFTER ONLY 3-4 hrs of use. Personally I wish I could combine them all and make one PERFECT EARBUD. It would go like this:
    Comfort of the AirPod Pro II’s
    Pocket-ability of The AirPods Pro II as well.
    Sound of the WF-1000XM5

I compared it to Airpods and XM4 and these XM5 are the most comfortable and best sounding earbuds in the market. Airpods are good with iPhone only as Apple is still stuck on SBC & AAC codec.

    On the volume thing, once you tap 4 times, you get a tone and then each extra tap reduces volume. It works but it is super flaky to get the taps right. On the left bud, they have that goofy spotify tap and that gets triggered more easily than the volume. Honestly, I don't think the WF-1000XM5's are all that great. I couldn't get a good seal out of any of the foam ear tips and I don't get a seal from the Spinfit CP-360's either but the app likes those better than any of the foam tips. I came from the xm4 and owned the Bose qcII for around a year. Since I washed them with my clothes, I replaced them this week with the xm5. Bose have imo. bette nc and better base, the touch functions worked very vell, so perfect for traveling. The case is super bulky, no wireless charging and even broke on me. Call quality was terrible, I always switched to the phone because ppl. couldn’t hear me. Pairing with devices failed from time to time. The xm5 case is a dream, for running you can turn down nc at all, call quality is decent enough and sound is apart from the base a bit richer. Multi device pairing works great so far. I’m not a big fan of the touch functions of the sony. Overall I would go for the Sony as the more complete package if I could choose again.

    Wireless charging of anything other than devices that don't have charging ports is the worst invention I can think of. Its a waste of power plant resources, degrades the expensive rare earth metals needed to make batteries and adds unnecessary cost to the device that could otherwise lower the price or increase the specs like a larger battery, better quality microphone, etc. We really need to kill mag safe charging and standard wireless. It's a mountain of e-waste just to save 1 second of effort in simply plugging in a cord.

    I've listened to a few reviews and I think you did the best job. Why? Because of the objectivity. You gave real reasons for why one was better. One person started out showing they had 5 pair of Air pods, and nothing beat them on every feature. The one thing I did hope that you'd address is battery life. In the mic test to me the Bose was the worst as it seemed like you were talking out of a closet. The other two were close and could be one or the other depending what is important to you. One seemed a little more stable, the other seemed cleared most of the time but did fade.

    I got the AirPods 2 Pro since I was having issues with my Sony WF1000mx4 (just gonna call them Mach 4s from now on) and I gotta say…The AirPods 2 Pro are not worth the money. The sound is like semi distant. As if you had an earbud almost out of your ear. The sound quality is subpar at best. The noise cancellation is god tiere though! The call quality is absolutely amazing too, but I bought these for music and gym use. To be honest the sound quality sounds like it would be at best be worth $50 to $75 for the AirPods Pro 2.
    About the Mach 4s though, I noticed that the right ear bud was dying 50% faster than the left. I tried to look up online and many other people on Reddit and such were having similar issues. I just felt it was too coincidental that this happened right before the Mach 5s came out…I absolutely loved my Mach 4s and was so disappointed when BestBuy didn’t carry them by late July 2023. And then found out its because the Mach5s were coming out. Too suspicious

    I enjoyed the coolness that you designed into your room and all the aspects of the video capture, good lighting, good Shure Mic, and nice background fill music, you checked all the boxes of a good quality presentation. Your content was also excellent, filled with all the good up-front answering questions style. I really liked that you went outdoors to demo the three headphone mics, as most other videos don't go outside. I just bought the XM5 and I'm beyond dissapointed in the noise cancellation. I can from Air Pod pros and the XM5 don't seem like they block any sound. I downloaded the app and tried all the different tips and it honestly doesn't sound like it works at all. With the air pod pros I could have them in and sing at the top of my lungs and barely hear myself, with XM5 I can hear everything.

    The Bose have a harsh nasal-sounding midrange compared to either the Sony or Airpods (or the Sennheiser for that matter) and you can't dial that out bc of the simple 3-band EQ vs the 5-band on the Sony and Sennheiser. They do have the smoothest bass response though, as you've said. With ANC turned on, the Bose have a noticeable hiss with no music playing. The Sennheiser is a step below the other 3 with regards to ANC but probably best or tied for best with the Sony for audio quality. (I have all 4 earbuds).

    • @chrisandsofia1919
      @chrisandsofia1919 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@fygoa If sound quality is most important then either the Sony or Sennheiser. The Sennheiser MW3 are slightly more "lively" while the Sonys are more relaxed in their sound signature. But ofc, you can customize both via their 5-band EQ to w/e you like. Be aware that the ANC is a step up on the Sony though. Note that you'll very likely want to replace the MW3's stock silicone eartips with foam ones. I could never get any of the stock eartips to fit properly so the seal was compromised resulting in weak bass. With Comply foam tips the MW3 sound fantastic. Also note that the MW3 is nearly half the price of the XM5 right now, so it depends on your budget. EDIT: Just to add, if you're a total bass-head then go with the Bose. But they do sacrifice mids & highs clarity vs either the XM5 or Sennheiser.

    For me , the Bose turned out to be a bust. Loved the sound and ANC. The two deal breakers was no multi point connection, as well as call quality. I made it work somewhat without multi point, and was still okay with that. But I drive a tractor trailer with a pretty quiet Volvo engine. However, with these call quality suffered greatly! The pitch of my voice was too high, I could barely hear the person I was talking to, and they complained of background noise on every call with call volume at max. This wasn't present with my JBL Live Pro 2 buds. So I returned the QCE Ultra's I bought from Best Buy and purchased the XM5's for the same price at the suggestion if the associate. After never watching a single review of the XM5's, I was and still am blown away by the sound, and the call quality while driving my truck was very on point. My buddy told me whatever I did was great as he didn't have to struggle big time to hear me, as with the Bose. I was extremely disappointed because I'm a Bose fan, as this was my third Bose product, which is why the was my first choice.

    I've never tried the AirPods. But I'm comparing the Sony and the Bose on Noise Cancellation on this video, and Bose destroys Sony when it comes to blocking out voice, unlike what you said. The only problem is that the left earbud for Bose constantly makes a quiet static noise that is easily noticeable at lower volumes.
