I spent 10 weeks in hospital last year with lupus Nephritis
I went to A&E four times and they missed it.
When I was admitted my kidneys were 12% and I had blood clots on my lungs, fluid around my heart, deranged platelets etc
I’m fortunate to have survived it but I’m still not well
I’m going to check out your diet video

Thank you for the information given.
Can I inquire whether we can eat eggs, salmon fish and chicken if one got auto immune?

Hi I have lupus nephritis, I’ve been living with it for 20 years, as time goes on it worsens. I have protein in the urine that goes up & down. My Dr doesn’t want to do a biopsy because I’m on warfarin. My kidney function is good, the only problem is protein in the urine 2+. Should I be concerned about not doing a biopsy?

Hello! Check out our live recordings (under the live Q & A playlist). Dr. Hashmi discusses when a biopsy is usually needed. But in general, biopsies are usually only done if it will change/impact the diagnosis and treatment of the CKD.

What type of diet would help for people with lupus nephritis?

What word did he say at 5:28? If a person has this in their urine, they need a biopsy of kidney. The word is distorted in the microphone.

    Best wishes for Mrs. H.
Vitamin D. Is elevated calcifediol a renal toxin OR is it the toxic stress in the renal conversion of it to calcitriol OR is it the calcitriol itself resulting renal calification? The local calcitriol concentration is highest where it is made (especially) and immediately downstream and so that is where calification could be the most extreme unless evolution accounted for it. BTW, where in the kidneys is the conversion done? Thanks.

Hello! Make sure to check out our phosphorus episodes where we discuss vit D, iPTH, phos and mineral bone health! We will make sure to have an episode dedicated fully to this concept though too!
