It also gives the show runners the opportunity to work on their CGI and do some digital realm kinds of scenes with the Chief actor + Jen Taylor's Cortana. Perhaps as they form a kind of symbiosis along with a friendship. His face reveal in season 1 was because of his perfect soldier persona being shattered. It's kind of genius when you think about it, yeah they did dismantle the character we all knew, but they did it within the story they're telling with elements of that story, and they may be planning to piece him back together in their own way, creating the Master Chief we all know, in a way you can only really do with a TV show. So his second unmasking, is actually going to be very impactful.

As someone that hates the show, this is the kind of shit that actually vibes with me. It's completely plausible for a SPARTAN to go against the usual grain of staying to their own group and fuck around with the Marines like this.
If only the writers understood this was the kind of shit we wanted to see. It'd be totally easy to do something like this in a way that carries on throughout the show: have Kai make Marine buddies, the other SPARTANs tell her that she's making a mistake doing that because the Marines are nothing like they are, they go on mission and the Marines Kai knew well die, so then you have Kai struggling to cope with their loss and she either blames herself for their deaths and works to develop a healthy relationship with the Marines she serves with or becomes a tragic character and "hates" the Marines out of a desire to keep them away from herself so they don't get hurt.
Wasn't Kurt-051 the type of Spartan to socialise with other troops? Often drawing criticism from other Spartans who couldn't understand?
@@caboosesms1257 bang on the money but the writers don't care they just want to feed fans bull and try pulling people who never even glanced at the books or games

yeah, but most of the spartan 2 won't do anything like this....Spartan 2 are basically brainwashed psychopath, professional super soldier. they often display lack of social skill outside of combat setting.
@@johnson7156 Kurt was known to be warm toward non-Spartan personnel and so was Jorge. The only "psychopath" Spartan I can think of off the top of my head is Emile, but he's a Spartan-3
@@DPham1 hmm...maybe i should rephrase. i was quoting halo 4 lol. Yes i agree they are not just "cold blooded killers". but i believe in book they also appears to be mostly introverted to none spartans. they maybe warm toward others, but they do not know how to socialize with others. I think such tendency you can also see in some veterans who spend their whole life in the military. the "no bullshit" type of attitude and finds it difficult to fit in to the civilian life. For spartan2 especially, they may find this kind of "party scenario" overwhelming. since their senses are enhanced, and i could imagine them disliking to be in this kind of scenario.
@@johnson7156 It's not so much that they're like old veterans, more just that they're not socialized with any peers except each other. This one scene probably had a different team of writers to the rest of the show
I love this scene! Kai is one of my favorite characters in the show! Kai is a genuinely good person fighting for humanity, but she’ll definitely take out bad people like that little twerp Adun (Doctor Halsey’s assistant)!

The show does a great job of depicting these stone cold killer Spartans as being erratic and brash / brazen even, once they're influenced by either removing the chip or touching the artifact.
Despite the .... weird way they did it, in the finale, they have set up Chief as he is in the games. Silent, incredible battle awareness, speed, precision. The perfect soldier.
After what she done in ep 9,Kai IS definitely carring the whole show.
