My dad was interviewed for B1/B2 non-immigrant visa. His visa application was refused and gave back his passport and gave him 221(g) yellow slip saying "You are required to return to the Embassy for interview". What does this mean? No additional docs requested though. Are we going to wait for a call from the US Embassy before going there or we can go there depending on the schedule as stated on the slip?

I had aproved (in the the past) more than 6 visas for seamans.But few days ago i was rejected with 221g administrative processing without any explanation.All required documents and garant letter from company i had but reason for rejection i didn't get. Also i find some statment from official website of the US State Department that said during the last year, 34,03 percent of requests from Montenegro were rejected. Can you please tell me what are my chances to get that visa. i never had any issues with law all my life .thank you
I can't handicap your odds. I can tell you thought administrative processing under 221g is typically a delay. It doesn't necessarily mean a denial is likely.

CO said nothing to be worry and it’s take 7-10 days to arrived. I have filed the documents since January 30, 2022 and so far there is no news regarding my file and I have not been contacted. My visa was refused under 221(g) back in October, 2019. They asked me some information regarding my addresses and travel history and after providing them it went to the administrative processing. I haven’t heard anything from them since November 2019. I wanted to visit to Las Vegas for a conference this December and finally decided to reach out to the embassy, they mentioned that administrative processing cases automatically closes after a year and you have to apply again. So I applied and have my appointment date of next year, July 2025 ( longer wait times ). I hope it helps :)

I did a drop box application for h2b work visa, I was quality for interview waiver, I was refused under 221g and am now requested for a in person interview. Could this be bad? I dont know what to expect. This is my 4th time traveling on h2b and for the last 2 years I was qualify for interview waiver and didnt have to go in person.

I have been waiting for 18 months now under S221g. Cape Town office for a B1/B2 visa.
A mandamus lawsuit may make sense in that case.

Unfortunately the amount of time administrative processing can take in a given case is very unpredicatable.

Mandamus would be the strongest solution. SOrt of that, have you tried enlisitng help from your local congressperson?

This is a situation that can be addressed with a mandamus lawsuit. For students, affordability is typically the biggest concern with filing one.

In that context, refused frequently means delayed, not denied.

I wouldn't read too much into this. Doesn't neccasarily mean your approval is in jeopardy.
