Hey rob thanks for the informative video. I just had my B1 visa interview as a TCN from US Embassy in Bangkok on 15th December 2022. I was issued a 221g White slip with reason as other. The VO wrote admin review. Also i was aksed when am i flying back to my country. And i answerd 20th December. After that he said, we will let you know before that. I am really scared my case doesn't get hold up for long. I am in a third county US EMBASSY.

What happened to your case?
good afternoon, I faced an unclear situation for myself, I was interviewed in Frankfurt and the consul said that the visa for you and your family was approved, the passports will be issued in a week. After the past week, we did not receive a passport, and 10 days later we saw on the website the status that our case was under administrative inspection.The difficulty is that the email address specified in d160 has ceased to be valid and there is no access to it anymore.Perhaps the consulate requested any documents and we did not provide them. We wrote several letters to the consulate with different statuses to receive a response and they replied once that the case was being checked. How to find out what to do now, it seems that the matter is at a dead end, because we do not understand what exactly they want from us since the mail does not work and the one we wrote to the consulate did not ask for any additional information?

My brother’s case is stuck with 221g, sometime in May he had scheduled to drop off passport for visa , but he got a return passport and VO required him to have medical exam redone , because his medical about to expired , so after submitted the medical exam he received the email with link for scheduling ,he logged into reschedule , but there always the error message that the case number you have entered cannot be found . We did send email to IV inquiry , there no answer yet . We are so frustrated

I think that this process, it's not fair. My wife it's an amazing Biologist and researcher. She got accepted in a Post Doctoral program in the Smithsonian Institute, and she is now under this administrative process. She sent all the information require, and she didn't receive any answer from more than 80 days!. She is very worried about it, because the deadline it's in January 2023. We don't know what else we can do!

Hi .. I have got 221g . I went for a drop box appointment . I went for my H1b renewal. I was in usa and came to india for my personal vacation. In my case nothing is changed either the location nor the employer or the client . I went for drop Box April 20 and got 221G on May 3rd asking for filled LCA. I have submitted the LCA to the email provided in the 221G letter. It’s been 10 days I have not seen any change in my status. So could you please suggest what can be done in my case

Hi Rob,thanks for the 221g refusal discussion. My son's case is very different the VO told that the Sevis fee which was paid is not updated in their website. Vo told that reschedule the visa appointment after paying. In this case how much time they will take for reschedule, only 20days is there to attend the college. It was happened 24/04/23 today.
You can reapply for visa interview anytime, so just do it as soon as you can after payment is cleared

Question. At the interview I was told I was approved and got a letter stating that I was gonna get everything back in 10 days. When I actually went to collect I got the administrative letter on the white piece of paper.
Why would this be?
It states that no further action is required and I should just be on standby to provide an updated picture and hold on to the same letter I got back.
This case seems to be the odd one out and I’m hoping for some clarity because my letter requests that I don’t reach out before a three month period from my interview date elapses.

Hi Rob, Many thanks for this helpful video. I have been in this situation since Dec. 7, 2022, when I interviewed at the Musqat U.S. embassy. I am a fully-funded Ph.D. student At WSU. Because of a Visa delay, I had to defer my admission from spring to summer 2023 which starts in May 2023. I'm also about to miss the upcoming summer session too which put my admission at risk. I will be very thankful if you tell me what to do in this status?

Hi, thanks for sharing the useful information. I recently submitted my documents for F1 Visa in a Dropbox appointment in Chennai. After 2 days, i got message to collect my passport. When I collected passport, there was no stamping but there was 221g sheet. In that sheet they selected a check box asking to appear for interview on 5th August. What could be the reason? I already hold H4 (expiring in August) and B1 visa.

Hi, I had applied for my student F1 visa in 2020 right before the pandemic hit. I had to adjust it from a B1/B2 to F1 and I am in the US. I've been waiting since for my visa to be approved and USCIS have messed up my papers on 3 separate occasions and I had to reapply each time. I had hired a lawyer to help me apply but unfortunately she had informed me that all we can do at this point is wait. Please help because I don't know what to do at this point and it hurts so much because my friends and family back home have actually completed their course and they're doing their masters.

Hello, I did my interview yesterday and the VO told me so far all is good about my application and gave me a form "collecting your US VISA" to use to retrieve my visa from DHL office. Checking my visa status on the website with my case ID I saw "Administrative Processing" . What does this implies. Thanks Rob

Hi. I got a 221g on January 2022. 6 months down the line,i got a letter from councilate asking me to get a notarized withdrawl letter from my employer and drop it along with the passports for my case to be considered further. This is a employement based case

I actually had my visa recently placed in 221g.
I was already in the United States and got my H1B approved, I just wanted to go outside of the US to an embassy in order to get the H1B Visa stamp on my passport. I had the interview on March 22nd and everything went well, the interviewer even approved my visa on the spot and said everything looked good. It wasn't until the next day that I got an email stating that now my visa was placed on Administrative Processing and I needed to fill out the form DS-5535 which I submitted immediately.
I am still waiting for it and I really need to return to my job. Any recommendations on what to do?

Hi, thanks a lot for your awesome videos, I have a question and I would be grateful if you could provide me with your advice, actually last week my F1 Visa application was sent for administrative processing, and they have asked me for submitting some documents including my offer letter, the letter which shows my funding source,
Actually I have been admitted to a fully funded PhD program through offering RA, but because of not meeting minimum language score requirements needed for TA, I wasn't eligible for TA, and this is mentioned in my offer letter, in my offer letter they said I am not eligible to be TA until I submit sufficient language score,

Hi, I am in a similar situation. My admission letter says that I will work as an RA as well. The officer told me that due to my the nature of my research they need to put my visa on administrative processing and they asked me to submit a research plan, my admission letter and a cv with a list of publications. It has been 60 days now since my interview.
Another friend was also appointed an RA and was in the same situation, but she got her visa after 52 days.

The officer gave me a purple 221(g) paper and kept my CV and research proposal for further processing, but not my passport. She sent me an email including a couple of questions and I replied to those questions honestly also attached all the documents that I assumed may be required. It's 14 days passed, what should I do? my program start date is in January and I don't know if I should book my flight ticket or not. Considering my interview in a third-party country I am also confused about passport drop off and pick up as well.

Hi Rob, I interviewed on March 14, 2023 (IR1), and received a green paper with 11 items (221g). I added 11 items and sent them back on March 16, 2023, but as of October 26, 2023, there was still no result. Please let me know when the visa will be approved. thanks a lot!

I've been interviewed US C1/D visa for seafarer on 28th of April. When the interviews done the embassy officer gave me the letter (white letter and typed "your us visa has been approved"). But the day after I got an email that embassy need more information about me, I thought is mean 221(g). I've been waiting for more than 3 months until today. My question is what I can do for follow up my visa status.

Hello thank you for your videos they are really helpful. I had my interview yesterday and the consular said that the interview went well but my application was put on Administrative processing. She said that she didn’t know why which got me confused. All I saw was that there was a lot of typing during the interview after which she handed me the 221g form and told me to check my email from time to time. What could be the cause. I recently changed my I20 after filling the first ds160, then changes were made as I had changed my degree. I then filled another ds160. When I went to the interview I used the new details. Could that be the cause.

My daughter's F1 visa application was undertaking administrative process, it was decided by the VO on July 9th when she was interviewed, and she has submitted the resume and travel history as the VO required. on July 16th. As the filight is August 27, we are waiting for the result a little anxiously, would you please tell how to get it issued asap. By the way she is admitted to persue her undergraduate diploma , we are in China and the major is not belong to STEM. I try to contact argo, yet it failed.

excuse me sir iam gilang from indonesia. I apply C1D visa. At the time of the interview I was approved, but the next day I was asked for additional data and my passport was returned to the agent. I checked online the status is refused. I've been waiting for 2 months and the status is still refused. Well if it is refused then it seems like a denial. If it is still pending as 221g then there is possibility for either way according to this video.

On 6th of November, visa officer approved my visa after my interview! After 21 days I got message to collect my passport, I got it with white color paper saying that (221g) administrative process, plus it was written that we will contact you for re submission of your passport via email...

I want to know something sir, incase I am already doing bachelor program outside my country and I am being accepted as a bachelor applicant in the US, then the Visa Officer asked me why not completing your study onces and for all before traveling to the US, what is the perfect answer that may convince the VO
There is no perfect answer. What’s matters is telling the truth in a way that makes sense to the VO. How you would explain it?
I think you can say you are more passionate about the course you are going to study in the US that is if you switched course but if not then you have to talk on things like teaching strategies.

Hi, I applied for interview waiver for my son and i was given a 221g to schedule an appointment. Although he qualifies foe the waiver program. I wasnt asked to bring additional documents so should i just send what i sjbmitted for the waiver?

I am still stuck in 221g since feb 23 interview in Mumbai VAC. They gave me a yellow slip which checklisted the documents i needed to submit. I submitted the documents right away but havent heard from them till now May 19 2023. I contacted Us consulate multiple times through the email and phone number they have on that yellow slip but i get generic response everytime saying it could take upto 180 days depending on case to case. Is there a way to reach out to US consulate VO directly? I really need some help on this as i might lose my job in US because of this delay.

Hey Rob thank you, it was indeed a great video. So I had my IR1 interview at US embassy mumbai. So in our scenario the Visa officer asked me 20 questions, my husband is in US since 21 years he moved there with his parents, Visa officer asked me what was your father in laws age when your husband moved to US. I was not aware as I never asked. I said I don't know I never asked. Visa officer said your husband didn't told you important information.
And in the end he gave me 221g white slip.
Slip says unfortunately they cannot give me Visa as my file is incomplete. Also the officer was kind enough, on asking he said we will be re- checking on whatever you said now.
I am confused. Can you pls guide on this.

My visa has been on 221g but later denied based on the fact that I didn't pay enough hospital bills during my childbirth and that he as a citizen paid more . I have been refused once after then . I really don't know what to do

What should i do .

We had our family immigration visa (F31) interview on 19th March 2024. The officer gave us a 221g slip and ticked some documents that she asked us to submit. She also ticked on the box which said to send passports via courier. After that our visa status showed refused. We submitted all the ticked documents on 15th April. Our case got updated on 23rd April but still showed refused. It got updated again on 25th April then on the 29th of April but still shows refused. Any idea why

Hey Rob, my spouse H4 visa issued 221g for not presenting marriage certificate and kids birth certificate and my h1b visa copy as due to pandemic my extension drop box slot and my spouse h4 visa F2F on same day. Hi Rob I did interview in December at isl embassy usa Pakistan. Visa officer approved the visa. Now 4 visas are showing issued at ceas and one is refused . No 221g given for refusal applicant. No letter or email about refusal has received from embassy. CEAS date has been updated . why is that

got a 221 g in Toronto canada and yes born and raised in Canada.. the officer checked off investment (substantial, proportional at risk, irrevocably committed) then wrote next to it "summary". He handed back our passports and told us to email the information. what does that mean? we are wanting to start a home renovation business in florida .

The consular officer asked me to bring a police report from that country and handed me a green sheet indicating administrative processing. Recently, I emailed the embassy to find out how far with the process and they replied that they're on it and will get back to me. Do you suggest I keep on checking up on my case?

Hello I'm a medical retired vet, my attorney only submitted my va disability income and SSI, my spouse went to his interview and was given a form for a second sponsor, my daughter submitted a affidavit of support and supporting documents, I thought my lawyer submitted all the asset documents, and bank statements but he didn't, he only submitted my disability. I since submitted the missing income. I can't contact anyone in the consult, how long do you think it will take for a response.

How about this. I needed nonimmigrant B2 visa waiver of ineligibility. I went to interview with every possible document plus... But they simply said don't need them and everything looks fine. 221g form asked for information and documents which I provided at the same day. Received confirmation email the same day, few minutes later. Since that, hold yourself... 19 months my application is still stuck at AP.

My case has been stuck for 61 days. I did a family base visa interview on the 21 of April however my documents were expired when they were forwarded from NVC to the embassy. They requested updated documents which I had provided 2 days after my interview but my case still says refused after so long.

Good Day!! I had my H4 renewal Dropbox on 21st Nov and on 15th Dec the status got updated as Refused and since then for this last two weeks it’s the same status with updated dates in ceac portal. I been is a 221g process for a k-2 visa for 14 days already it keeps showing the dates changing but still the same refused status. All they asked for was a birth certificate because we didn’t have the original. I have been waiting two Weeks for some sort of Change.

Good day rob I did my k1 visa interview and was in 2021 and was approved but after my medical they found cannabis in my urin I was given 221g to complete 1yr Random drugs testing which I completed which after the us embassy sent email to redo my medical and and resend my passport which I have done so am now waiting to collect my passport from the embassy and I have been staying far away from the smell of cannabis do you think I will be refuse again your thoughts on this

I attended my H1B visa interview on 22nd February, 2024 at US embassy in Accra. My passport was kept by the VO and i was made to pay the reciprocity fees. I was then given a white paper saying that my case has been put in administrative processing. On 26th of February, 2024 the embassy called me on phone to ask for my degree certificate number and student Id number. Since then, i haven't heard from them and anytime i check my status on the ceac platform, it says "refused ". In my case, how long is it gonna take for my visa to be approved? Thanks so much.

I had the interview at the consulate 9 months ago and they gave me Form 221G because I did not complete all the procedures of the medical file and they told me that I must complete the medical file.. and I completed all the procedures of the medical file... and I received a message on the same day that my case needs administrative prossising.. Now I have been waiting for about 8 months and I have not received a response ... I contacted the consulate and they told me that the medical file was not brought to us by the doctor. The administrative procedures and he told me that I must call the consulate again to inquire and I have already done and sent them that the doctor has already sent the file ... and I do not understand the reason for the delay so far ... Interview on may 3rd 2022, got 221g for more court documents and tickets citations. I dropped them off yesterday 06/09/22. My visa will be approved when? I didn’t need any other documents except court papers…..Guatemala city embassy replies to my emails on a daily basis. But I did learn I will inquire every ten days. I called the cosulate after being approved and say mybstatus changed to refused the same day i called to follow up on my visa. Not sure why as i was honest and niw 2bdays after the refuse status no email received for additional documents

Hi, i’ve applied for f1 visa from india! in my ds160 i mentioned about my uncle who lives in the US about sponsoring my education! but a few days after that i got accepted for a scholarship which will cover my whole tution and living expenses. I’ve my visa dropbox appointment in a few days and i was worried as you mention about relatives living in the us which may get my visa rejected as the visa officers might think im immigrating there. what should i do in this case? im quite worried about this. i was thinking of submitting a new ds160 with info without my relatives (they are not even blood relatives). do you think I should do that? I got 221g because my husband's 2021 tax transcript says he can't afford to support me and our baby. The consul ask us to have a joint sponsor but my husband refused to look for a joint sponsor since his 2022 tax is above poverty level. Can we just send the 2022 tax transcript instead of submitting a joint sponsor ? Thank you so much.

I had aproved (in the the past) more than 6 visas for seamans.But few days ago i was rejected with 221g administrative processing without any explanation.All required documents and garant letter from company i had but reason for rejection i didn't get. Also i find some statment from official website of the US State Department that said during the last year, 34,03 percent of requests from Montenegro were rejected. Hello sir, why does ceac shows the message that all your documents are received and approved and consular officer refuse the visa after the interview asking for additional financial documents? Also the officer didnot mention anything on what to do next? Should i wait to hear from them thru email/CEAC message or upload new financial documents right away in ceac for further processing? what does it mean by officer has adjudicated and refuse your visa? Its so much hassle that these officers doesnot explain anything at all. Also my refusal paper doesnot have administrative processing ticked and my passport and rest of the documents were given to me right after the interview. My visa class is IR5. Hello Rob, my interview at the consulate was a month ago, the consular approved my visa and took my passport, and told me that I'll receive my passport in two weeks, but I didn't receive it until now !! and every time I check my visa status I just find " approved ", there is no update. XThe case for my minor brother form i-130 went into administrative processing,,,after months not hearing from them,,they asked for a criminal record,,just the fact they ask a document its that a good sign?

I have been thinking whether to write an email to NIV or not but after watching this video I sent email and got a reply. Today I sent my passport, will update you once I get my passport with visa.
