Honestly Prime Universe Knockout and Arcee are fine, the only issue with Bulkhead is that his vehicle mode isn't the vehicle he had in prime (military equipment truck VS offroad civilian truck) in fact it more closely matches the animated vehicle mode so I feel like it is a mislabel and not actually a bad figure.
The funny thing is I'm the opposite here. I think they did a great job with Bulkhead, and it's really Knockout who is the complete sin. Though he does at least have the perfect altmode.
6:22 is that little light meant to be a police siren? Like one of the ones undercover cars used to have back in the day. Cops just opened the window, slapped it in the roof and the siren goes off. How does it stay on the roof? Magnets. Probably. I legitimately don’t know. Always assumed it was magnets. I mean, how else could it be done? Always, if that light is a cop light, does Animated mark the first time Bumblebee is officially a cop car? I seem to vaguely recall him taking his alt mode from the chief of police’s car. Or commissioner, or whatever cop position the character had.
I like this figure, but every time I look at it a voice in the back of my brain tells me the animated reactivate figure was better (aside from the arms, since that figure had doors for arms)
Im still concerned about the size yes the whole point of his character is that he's short and get made fun of but I missed the old days where the figures were bigger. I used to have the electronic lights and sounds animated bee where you can have his hands (which are stingers) combine and have the buzzing sfx, also he has heelies which was really cool to have him roll around in robot mode
I feel you on that, if the whole of the toyline was bigger things wouldn't have to get this small to be small. Dumb question, but you don't happen to be the guy with the Dreadlocks I took a picture with at TFCon right? I didn't get their name and I feel really guilty about it.

I like Animated’s style! The simple art and low framerate are a tried and true tradeoff for VERY dynamic action and way more forced perspective and motion tricks than any other TF show I can think of
He came out at the VEEEERY start of the Pandemic. Lockdowns weren't even being considered at the time. It impacted stuff that came after him, but it didn't impact him.
I love this Bumblebee, however I'm very concerned for that pure clear plastic chest/body because that is very concerning. Let hope that lasts for a long time.
I actually just received this the other day and I have zero complaints, could definitely look more like the animated design but I think this is the best animated bumblebee they've ever put out (the old deluxe was good but very clunky)
@@PerspectiveEnd I just got it because bumblebee is the only animated Autobot I don't have, and I decided to let the scout sized deluxe slide because he's just about perfect scale with the rest of the Autobots, but I was not expecting to actually really enjoy the figure
Initially I wasn’t really interested in this toy despite Bumblebee being my all time favorite and animated being my favorite show of the Transformers franchise! (I didn’t really mind the low frame rate (nowadays it’s kind of my favorite aspect, as a lot of stylized animated media uses a lower frame rate.) and the art style is one of my favorites. That being said, like this toy, there needs to be a balance between stylization and functionality. And while the visuals were one of my personal favorite things in TFA in my opinion, I can completely understand why it might turn some people off. It’s not for everyone and that’s ok!) Anyway, as for this Bumblebee, I might actually consider getting one! It’s pretty cheap last time I looked it up, and I’m always looking for more Bumblebees to add to my collection! So I’ll probably check it out! The stylization here, as you said, is done pretty well! A good blend of TFA and the more angular boxy design of G1, but neither overshadowing the other! It genuinely looks pretty dang fun!
I wish Bumblebee had a more... G1ified head, honestly. If only because he now doesn't fit with Prowl. Either that or I want someone to make a more Animated head for Prowl.
Bro this dude is the opposite of RotB Scourge. I thought for sure everyone was gonna hate him due to his lack of height and nothing else to make up the price, fiddly tranformation in the top half, and universe Ironhide ass car mode, but no everyone loves him. I'm officially shook
I honestly think you hit it on the head at the beginning with the comparison to prime fans but slightly missed it by the end because the Attempts at updating animated characters has failed miserably in my book... But it is making me do some back collecting 😂
So did they fail because they don't look like you want them to, or do you think they failed because they don't look like Animated, if it were in a more compatible style with the rest of the franchise?
@PerspectiveEnd I don't think they look enough like animated. And I believe they could have found a balance... The general idea is The current look unifies them with the generations line, right?... I think they could have achieved it and still looked more like the original animated artstyle... So I think I am like those prime fans that were disappointed in bulkhead... And Knockout... I went and got the old knockout.Toy and can totally envision a generations.Update that is more faithful to the old toy and the animation model... And it would have been great! I don't actually like the bumble bee from animated, But I loved the prowl and the generations update sucks... That Prime looks too puffy also, but better than both prowl and bumble bee.
@PerspectiveEnd That was long winded, sorry. I think they don't look enough like animated... Even trying to give them the benefit of the doubt of updating the art style to match with the generations shelf.
Man I love Derek Wyatt's art animation style from all the cartoons he did. I understand why you didn't like it. Probably cuz they look more human/superhero than robot.
He was my least favorite autobot in the cast, he doesn't even start learning his lesson till the 18 minute mark, if he even learns it at all, has priotized his own fun over rescuing humans, and has had zero development.
The stupid face is the dealbreaker for me. But we already know that this mold is going to have a couple retools. So if they make one with a better G1 face, I'll bite.

@@PerspectiveEnd nah I didn't get to go which sucks because like you it would've been my first TF con. I'm going to the next one in November in Baltimore hope the bridge thing doesn't hinder my chances
I could have sworn you said you were going to be there?
@@PerspectiveEnd nah, in one of the videos where you first announced you were going to TF con i wished you luck and envied you for going because I never traveled outside NYC
TFA bee is one of those figures I desperately want
Alternative title: earthrise cliffjumper review part 2, also animated bee
It was more Bumblebee than Cliffjumper. A little.
I like Animated’s style! The simple art and low framerate are a tried and true tradeoff for VERY dynamic action and way more forced perspective and motion tricks than any other TF show I can think of
You know, earthrise cliffjumper, came out during the pandemic, right?
He came out at the VEEEERY start of the Pandemic. Lockdowns weren't even being considered at the time.
It impacted stuff that came after him, but it didn't impact him.
I like him with all my other Bees on the shelf even though I never watched Animated, would buy again if they nixed the clear plastic.
Yeah the Clear Plastic is especially stupid because he had blacked out windows in the show.
ima bet that animated cliffjumper will be a repaint of this
We know wasp will be at least.
I absolutely loved legacy bee, reason I say loved is because ive now lost the tiny boy 😔
Like at your house, or did you take it somewhere and loose it? Sorry to hear that either way.
@@PerspectiveEnd probably misplaced it but its around the house somewhere
I love this Bumblebee, however I'm very concerned for that pure clear plastic chest/body because that is very concerning. Let hope that lasts for a long time.
1:17 and 2:24 “Stop! He’s already dead!”
He's not dead enough yet.
@@PerspectiveEnd Primus… That’s metal as hell
I actually just received this the other day and I have zero complaints, could definitely look more like the animated design but I think this is the best animated bumblebee they've ever put out (the old deluxe was good but very clunky)
Yeah, it's really pretty good. Surprisingly so.
It’s not for everyone and that’s ok!)
Anyway, as for this Bumblebee, I might actually consider getting one!
I think it fits acceptably. It definitely stands out a bit though.
Interesting that the feet have built-in gap fillers.
Great review. Like I said before. Solid plastic with painted Windows is always better.
I'd say usually better, but yeah here, it's just doing nothing for the figure, and is only creating concerns.
Finally, more cliff jumper pain
It hasn't been that long.
the weirdest thing is that bumblebee`s window`s were tanned
Bro this dude is the opposite of RotB Scourge. I thought for sure everyone was gonna hate him due to his lack of height and nothing else to make up the price, fiddly tranformation in the top half, and universe Ironhide ass car mode, but no everyone loves him. I'm officially shook
Shocked in a positive way, or a negative way?
@@PerspectiveEnd I guess positive, since people liking stuff I don't is a good thing
Surprisingly you liked it knowing how much this figure mindbroke people, i dont like it either but not enough to go crazy about it online
People hate this thing?
I feel like perspective end should bring back the question at the beginning of the video
I didn't really mean to stop, I just kind of forget.
@@PerspectiveEnd I was saying that because I wanted to comment but I didn’t know what to comment
The general idea is
The current look unifies them with the generations line, right?...
A perfect example. Is the stuff coming out from the unicrontrology era... That stuff looks like the perfect blend of original aesthetic and new.
2:14 As a wise man once said: “femboy bumblebee making me act unwise”
As a wiser man once said... Don't put your dick in the robot.
Man I love Derek Wyatt's art animation style from all the cartoons he did. I understand why you didn't like it. Probably cuz they look more human/superhero than robot.
Here's the thing. I liked it in other things. I just think it clashed super hard with the Transformers.
He was my least favorite autobot in the cast, he doesn't even start learning his lesson till the 18 minute mark, if he even learns it at all, has priotized his own fun over rescuing humans, and has had zero development.
He is the annoying kid character in the show that's for sure, but I don't hate him.
I really want to get this figure, it’s a good design for bumblebee, and hey maybe it won’t break every time I Transform it (SS 49!!!!!)
I think it will probably serve you better.
@@PerspectiveEnd your not wrong, it probably will
The stupid face is the dealbreaker for me. But we already know that this mold is going to have a couple retools. So if they make one with a better G1 face, I'll bite.
What is it about the face that specifically ruins it for you.
@@PerspectiveEnd The goofy smirk.
i'll wait for the wasp version
Any particular reason you aren't interested in this one.
@@PerspectiveEnd i'm good with the bees i have & like wasp
Uh no this year 2025 it's 2024
March well there's no eating and no drink in day
I just got him, and if you untab the chest, you can get an ab crunch.
Wish Id pointed that out in the video.
