In the event others haven’t already pointed it out, Yoshimoto actually does have a Switch Glaive! The only reason you may think he doesn’t is that he always keeps it in glaive form rather than switching to guillotine or scythe form.
It's worth noting that these human bosses also have side missions where you only fight them without any additional enemies interfering or slowing your farming efforts down, making it that much easier to farm them for the secret skills. Yoshitatsu for instance appears alone as a boss fight (though the mission does not allow Expeditions or Visitors to help you, as there are no Shrines available in the mission) in the third region in the mission "The Point Of No Return" which should unlock after you complete the mission "A Bird In A Cage".
For the spear skills, if you don't feel like going through all of the other goons, then there is a mission called 'Master of Spears' in the DREAM area. 1v1 with Maeda Toshiie, and play again to keep farming for the skills.
Dunno if this was posted already, but Hanzo can drop the Tonfa hidden art in the Winds of Ruin mission. Also, all bosses can drop their respective skills in Demon Parade Scrolls or Scroll of the Demon.
Just so you know, there is a side mission were you directly fight Saito Yoahitatsu, and you can farm his text there, instead of running all the main mission. I got them like that so it is confirmed. Great video.

@@lilkxdude5659 yes, but since drop rate doesn't change and kodama are shared among them all, I wouldn't recommend doing so in higher difficulties

Your better to farm all these bosses in there sub mission where you fight them 1 on 1. Only one you cant do that with is Tokichiro. Also yes drop rates increase in Dream of the Strong

btw if anyones still watching this guide in 2022 all the hidden skills can be farmed from the sub missions as well i got the tripple threat skill from mataza of the spear mission.
I got some of these skills in the recently added Path of the Demon thinking it was part of that. Didn't realize these were skills that had a chance to drop already. Time to go back and speedrun a few levels.

Great vid, but some skills, like the Tonfa one, or those from Saito Yoshitatsu can be farmed from shorter/more convenvient sub missions. Hanzo also drops tonfa skill in Winds of ruin (last region sub mission, great for farming texts, amrita and divine gear in end game, post final boss). Saito Yoshitatsu can be farmed in The Point of No Return, which is a single boss fight, way shorter than Hollow Fortress. And for Imagawa Yoshimoto : sub mission Imagawa Diehard. So far I think only Tokichiro (and also the living castles bosses) doesn't have his own short sub mission for easy quick farming...
Tru but don't think you get the buff from the kodama blessings.
I’ve noticed that people lock drops to one mission , as long as you are fighting a boss that drops it , you can get loot from them , you can do the duel fight against hanzo in afterglow and actually get all his gear and the tonfa skill as well 😊

Yoshimoto’s secondary weapon isn’t a switchglaive, true, but it is a glaive.

Also, on a couple one on one fights, you could also earn them in side missions like Maeda and Saito for example.
You can also find Saito Yoshitatsu in the SHADOW area in the mission 'The Point of No Return'.

Yoshimoto does have a switch glaive. He only uses mid stance and the skill he drops is one of his burst attacks.

Probably been pointed out already but the triple threat spear move has a better attack if timed correctly:)
Awesome! Guess I was missing a spear and Odachi skill, both quite awesome ^^ Thanks you! Also, in case you don't know anytime you knock an enemy on their ass, like punish the proud for example... you can dash up to them and hit them before they get up, even if they have full ki, and it will knock them down for a critical. Many moves work as hard counters to other moves, especially bull rush attacks, and will send the enemy reeling. I have found a ton of situations like these so its definitely worth experimenting.

I've farmed yoshimoto 30ish times now and only got smithing text for weapons other than dual swords. I got dragon fang but its for swords not dual :( appreciate the vid tho, very helpful, thank :)

What's the point of having punish the proud dual sword skill? asides of not having to unlock full tree to that point, like, I feel like it's just so mich weaker than the shriek in everything
EDIT: So I'm gonna answer myself since I did find a couple reasons why:
1st: While the timing to parry is a bit weirder, since it takes a bit longer from the moment you trigger the skill till the parry frames actually engage, the window is way longer
2nd: It deals more ki dmg than the shriek + knocks people back, might be useful if you got a custom grapple like yoshitatsu's dual sword anima filling grapple / initiating combo

I spent 6+ hours trying to farm the smithing text for swirling snow on the brothers blades didn't get it and did the main mission once at the end of my sanity and got it on the first run -_-

Fleeting Edge can also be farmed from the dojo mission for the switchglave, i got it by accident on first attempt and that mission is easier to farm if you want that hidden skill before progression to the final region
Hey, great vid! How did you evaluate that NG+ does not increase the drop chance? Other sources here on youtube claim it does. I am just getting insane over that second kusarigama skill... he won‘t drop it, done him around 100 times on NG+ :/ NG would be faster, so that‘s why I‘m asking

Yes u can, I already did farm it from there. It’s way easier and faster to do it from there.. just kill the main samurai in the middle of the map and then go to the shrine and save your progress, go to the boss and fight him until he drop it. Make sure to quit to title screen if he didn’t drop it without quitting the mission; doing that will save you a little time to make your farming easier ;)
This is a far better quality video than the guys who are making a one of each combat arts skills video which is very bad and not a direct way of telling us how to get the skills. Basically the others quality video are seriously bad. Thanks 👍🏻
