He finallydecided to live a stupid camera and help. Did you see another guy came with phone to film. It's not even a joke, it's disgusting present tense.
Exactly. When I’m out by myself the moment I feel traction and momentum stop, I grab a shovel and trax and roll right on out. People who dig themselves down to the axel make my head hurt.
@@ablet85 I've had to shovel dig the car unfortunately down to the axels to try and get maxtrax level so the wheels would bite and pull them under. Very unfortunate situation followed by an extremely tough walk out.
Just got my first 4WD so let me see if I got this strait... 1) 0:10 Snatched at too much of an angle ? 2) 0:26 People are too close (dangerous when snatching/winching) 3) 0:47 Poor communication/too many experts (radio would helpful) 4a) 2:22 Can't get traction because spinning wheels keeps collapsing the sand - better to create a ramp with sand+maxtrax ? 4b) 2:22 Tried to go back across the waterlogged sand (way harder to get out of) ? 4c) 2:22 no power to front-right wheel - so center diff/lockers not locked ?
I reckon the first snatch was way too hard/harsh and they're lucky to come away from it without major damage. The miscommunication and panicked steering can also be helped by pulling forwards instead of backwards.
1) The angle was a bit out but ok if the hilux had some left hand down and was trying to drive out backwards at the time. The problem with this sich is it should have been a gentler, slower attempt at first using max tracks. 2) Yes 3) Yes 4abc) Bad angle, needed adjusting to straighten up. If these 4WDs have them installed there are rear lockers and/or front lockers. As far as I know all wheel drives like Subaru or Ford escape etc have a central diff and if installed, a central locker.
Some people just don't know how to use snatch straps! Do yourselves a favour. Either support your local 4wd club and take a recovery course or sell your 4wd before you kill someone.
Easy to judge standing there holding a camera, put the bloody thing away and go lend a hand. If it's that clear old mate doesn't know what he's doing, then save him the heartache of a busted 4x4 on it's side and go and teach them how to get it out properly before they injure someone, and maybe they'll have some idea of what they're doing next time.
And in 12 months time the chassis will be toast due to salt water permeating thru the frame. Stay out of the salt water to avoid costly repairs or write offs.
Sand looks pretty soft, maybe just dig the bank away a bit? Outdoors is a bit different to the Woolies car park it seems. A lot to be said for Maxtrax and handheld radios, plenty of potential there for people to end up dead or broken.
So old mate in the Hilux has got a winch and decides it was a better option to be snatched out backwards on at least a 30 degree angle. He could of attached his winch to a vehicle in front of him, LWD and gently pulled himself out of that. Oh well, that wouldn't have been as entertaining to watch I suppose hahahahaha
Everyone makes mistakes. Maybe the first time to be really stuck. I won't criticise. Could be me one day. Glad someone was their to make their predicament a worldwide viewing experience. Sure they appreciate being the entertainment.
Lol fail dig the wall out a bit air down pull from different angle or winch would be better in this scenario. Basically they got almost everything wrong 🤗
Absolutely no idea. To many people have gotten this idea they need to fang it to recovery a vehicle, take off from low range 2nd, 3rd in the sand, just enough forward momentum to shift the vehicle, not rip it out then drag it in reverse while no one’s in the car lol, some of the thickest shit I’ve seen lol. And never snatch hard like that on an angle, that’s how they roll. That idiot was also standing in the snap back zone of the snatch line. when the hilux got pulled out of that bog, the driver should of jumped back in and straighten it up, drove towards the cameraman. Idiot to give the signal to go, and even bigger idiot in the FJ to listen lol. I wouldn’t of even helped those muppets, unless their willing to do the recovery my way, and listen to every instruction I give. Otherwise you yell out to someone else or call the tow truck.
Owner: Dunno what happened. It was in the driveway last night. Now it's gone. Officer: Did you leave the keys in her? Owner: Nah, that would be stupid. Insurance: Are you sure you don't know what happened? Owner: No, I...um...I really...(feverishly looking at his friend's TH-cam channel).
This was far and away from the worst 4wd recovery ever. The part we see is not great but you've obviously never seen a terrible "recovery" if this is the worst for you.
So they have spent coin on a winch and didnt use it... slow and steady wins the race. Or as someone else said maxtracks and your out. And also they should both go trade them in and buy a swift. Be a lot safer for everyone
Who the f..k was that old bloke in the blue stripped shirt, too many experts with no idea. That driver in the HiLux, what a waste of time, just needed someone in that car who knew what too do.
Another light bar would've fixed the problem
bhahaha what a joker
......two more aerials and he wouldn’t have got stuck in the first place
defiantly lol
What's James May doing there?
Should have at least worn his flood pants
he must of been on holidays ahhah
Blithering idiot
They should both take their 4wd's back to the dealer and tell them they are too damn stupid to own a 4wd!!
Yea
I thought there was not driver in the vehicle they recovering... then I realized they don't know what they doing
haha oh shit
I handed back my Landcruiser years ago and now use a shopping trolley on pavement when moving from A to B
That bloke in the FJ, should never do a bloody recovery again... Oh my god!!
not keen on him saving you lol?
Hard to watch! Everyone’s a professional when it comes to recoveries!
Sometimes it’s better for your mental health to just keep driving and let the next Good Samaritan save the day

I was told that they are still there tryna pull him out
Too many people helping at once is counter-productive. The problem was partially the wrong help
Both have no idea
The most correct statement by far in this commentsection!
That could’ve been such a straight forward and easy recovery....... if you had people who knew what they were doing 🙄🙄
yeah strange
Some people should stay 0n the bitumen 🤯
Lots of people should stay on the bitumen
A lot of people are already on bitumen
A set of trax and he'd be away. Insted he gets a loose bloke to nearly roll him, twice.

When the panic sets in The Muppet show begins...😒
Glad they had a safety officer

bloke in the FJ needs to roll his window down, cant hear the spotters call outs! STOP!! and he continues.
That was painful to watch, I was yelling at my screen 😂
If you don't feel comfortable with it, never rely on "experts"
So true!
hahahayeah

should of learnt all that before goping on the beach, or buying a sht 4x4. or, 2wd, as it is at best..
@@harrywalker968 how to fuck are you gonna learn if you don't go on the beach 🤣🤣🤣
Lack of a "Prestart" meeting right here 😂
is there a part 2?🤣
Fj: why are you stuck?
Hilux: i am stuck
Fj: now you are stucker
Hilux: sticker?
Next week hilux has a “been to fraiser” sticker
hahhaa
Everyone slaying them but least he’s talking it off road you live and learn 🤷♂️
And this folks..... is why Off Road car insurance premiums are so expensive.....
Luxy should’ve just winched to someone on his frontside
Ikr everyone saying he almost rolled hes not even close to rolling
so many options
He should've bought a GU Patrol then he wouldn't have gotten stuck in first place 😂
I see winches? Maybe they dont want the electric bill to go up 😂. Dam that was hard to watching!
What we call "All the gear and no idea".
Is there a part 2 to this comedy act ??

I just watched the clip twice and I am confused as to why they didn't snatchy him from the front ...
This week the chuckle brothers go off roading
So many Experts, so little time - knowledge, experience or Common Sense. Jeeeesh !!
Have to love the grey haired know all who knows nothing. I would have lost the plot and probably decked him. Probably owns an all wheel drive.
You know a 4 wheel drive... drives all the wheels, right? All wheel drive is just a different way of saying the same thing
@@lexicase8805LOL please tell me you’re trolling
👏👏Nice VLOG! Thank you for sharing!Hi from Travelly 👍
This is why I stick to dirt roads. Dunno what I’m doing.
Just because you can buy a 4wd doesn’t mean you know how to drive one
Hilux owner has absolutely no idea, stay on the bitumen but you’d probably get bogged on that too 😂
Should have tried a straight line pull
Holy Christ muppet day out 😂
He clearly can’t drive to save himself
The Hilux driver needs to learn how to drive 😂
I ain't going on any of their expedition's, oh well it's got to have some recovery involved..
Let’s walk to the most dangerous spot next to car x lots.. damn

😂😂😂😂 I love how everyone's freaking out it aint that bad
Jesus that went from ordinary to holy s#$t pretty quickly.
Never buy a 4x4 with a sticker on it saying, "I've been to Fraser Island". The salt water does wonders for the vehicles bodywork.
You can avoid the salt water on Fraser Island
That's fresh water mate
Looks like you got 2 good answers their! Last time i looked the whole island was salt!
@@rosswoolley2854 A quick internet search says more than 100 fresh water lakes, so no not the whole island.

Holy shit he is 💀
Wow that’s so bad on so many levels. Why people walk over the top and around connected snatch straps still amazes me.
Lads, everyone has a first time recovering, next time it should go better. How was your first time?
And not a bloody shovel in site...
Were they all pissed?
If you dont know what your doin DONT go 4wdn and dont go to fraser island. This is how people get hurt or killed then wrecks it for everyone
Ah this recovery had me screaming at my phone. I think it would've worked but he should have turned hard left when he hit that sand wall.
Probably woulda rolled the speed he was going.
Or just dig the bank out behind the right rear wheel so it ramped up to get him on the top
Have too remember moving water over sand will sink your car so fast
Too true
All they had to do is dig that second ledge out so the tyre could run up it
Painful .. just painful to watch
Did they ever get out?🤔
Everyone panicking way too much instead of working out a decent plan first. Surly someone has a shovel and some maxtrax !!
Can’t argue that
How come didn’t just do a little winch forwards would have been put in about 3 minutes
Shoulda installed a sand button, that woulda got him straight out 🤙
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in groups
