  • Sung by the UNL Men's Chorus conducted by Peter Eklund accompanied by the Plymouth Brass.
    First Plymouth Church, Lincoln Nebraska, October 5, 2014.
    "Mansions of the Lord" (Randall Wallace/Nick Glennie-Smith) arr. Peter Eklund.
    To fallen soldiers let us sing, where no rockets fly nor bullets wing,
    Our broken brothers let us bring to the Mansions of the Lord.
    No more bleeding, no more fight, no prayers pleading through the night;
    Just Divine embrace, eternal light, in the Mansions of the Lord.

    Since I heard this at the funerals of Reagan and Bush I've just fallen in love with it.

      I first hear this beautiful song at the end of the movie, "We were Soldiers", several years ago.. It was performed by the West Point Cadet Glee Club, and they absolutely did a beautiful job !!!!! You can find it here on youtube as well.
      I also love this tribute to our fallen from every land, and wish more Choirs would sing this at Church the Sunday closest to Veteran's Day..
      It is an absolutely inspired piece of music .. I too love it..
      Merry Christmas to you and yours !

    Superb. Trumpet solo was perfect. One of the most moving renditions I've heard. God bless. If there were a nomination for a song of the century, this would get my vote.
