    Hi,
I recently installed one of these (V2) to my computer. I'm finding that as soon as I hit the power on via the app, the system shuts down 1 second later. I can power off or restart via the app when its turned on from the front IO panel without issue. Any idea what might be causing this? Cheers

Is there no splitter with this device? As far as i can tell from the video, it appears you can now only turn it on remotely, and not with the switch on the case.

Hi, I hope you can help me. I've followed the instructions and gotten the device to work with the app. However, everytime I turn off pc using the app or using my original front panel switch, the pc automatically turns back on after atleast 10 seconds later. I also noticed that once I turn on the power socket, the pc turns on by itself after detecting power even without first turning it on using the app or the power button.
I'm using it in a msi b450i gaming plus ac motherboard, and an fsp flexguru power supply on my k39 mini itx case.
So far I have two theories, either I need to find some bios setting allowing usb power even when turned off, or that my flex psu has no standby mode and once it detects a power draw it powers up the whole pc. Those or something else I have no idea about entirely.
I hope you could shed some light on my issue thanks.

you make it look so simple, the little button is so small, i had to use a sd card to push it in, then just hold your phone, on the device, cause the range is garbage. looks like a very tiny round thing can take a antenna , but not included, neither is a sata power to molex adapter, or usb 2.0 splitter or extension, would of been nice. also use some app, ive never heard of. Silverstone, real cheap on this one, they need to up their game.

Is it possible for this device to wake up the PC from sleep?
I just bought this and all I want it to do is wake up my PC from sleep mode, but every time I hit power (Channel 1 on the app) when the PC is on sleep mode, it just powers up for like half a second, and goes back to off/asleep?? How do I get it to just wake my PC up?
(P.S. I know about about Wake-On-Lan! Im wanting to wake up my PC when NOT on my home wifi network so I can access Steam Link at anytime, anywhere)

This doesn’t mention that it hard shuts down the PC, like holding the power button, this would cause massive issues over time, I installed mine, found this out and made sure it wasn’t an isolated thing, now I’m returning mine

    • @JonesTheLad
      @JonesTheLad ปีที่แล้ว +2

I know this comment is 7 months old but….
Hard shutting down is the BETTER option… no idea where you get your info from, but putting the pc into hibernated shut down means that all the background processes will keep going, hence the quicker boot up time. If you turn your pc on and of multiple times a day, hibernation shut down is better, but if you have a gaming pc that you play once a day for ‘X’ hours, then be sure to fully shut down the PC between uses. 👍🏼

@@JonesTheLad ill go as far as to say this device should be used mostly for turning on the pc remotely rather than shutting it down. Shutdown should always be thru the OS and only otherwise if your computer freezes.

Why not leave your computer in sleep mode and use the WoL feature in windows to wake it up from wherever. Ment to only work while on the same network, but easy to set up to wake up over WAN. No extra hardware needed. This was a thing two years ago as well :p

Yea but not everyone is on WOL an example of this would be a computer that’s across the house that’s has to be wifi cause if the router being Aries the house from another room unless you get a wifi extender and connect a home switch to your room 😊

One thing that scares me about this is that you are at their mercy as far as that app goes. Any iOS/Android user knows that as system software updates, apps are left behind unless the developer takes the time to update it. What happens when they stop updating the app? Is the device useless?

  • @sdolo222

    • @toxicturkeyy

Possibly if it managed to overload the voltage control on the motherboard. However, that isn't an intended feature so very unlikely, if not impossible.
