    That grease nip,strip the strim head,clean out all the crap with turps and the a final with petrol/brake cleaner/carb cleaner.
    find a nip with larger dia thread,get a tap to suit ,tap thread clean swarf pack with grease rebuild add more grease,close it up ,add more grease by the nip and gun.
    Do the same to other strimmer heads,most will have a point on the case where a nip can be added.
    Is the strimmer cord slipping ,or is the spool spinning,if the cord slips it migh be possible to add a screw and washer to hold the extreme end of it.

    I run my 52cc with 40:1 and adjusted the carburetor So the engine runs correctly (fuel screw is right down the middle and a hair towards rich) without any compromise to the mechanical parts. The Chinese recommend 25:1, but that's way too much oil. The machine shouldn't create a Cheech cloud while it runs.

    I've been using these for a couple of years now and was as exasperated as you were at the start! I do everything opposite to the instructions ie. the spool loaded against the direction of the arrows and with the curved shaft side of the spool facing outwards. Feed works fine in that configuration. Takes a bit of getting used to though- holding it all in place while putting the head together. Got it down to a fine art now with a minimum of 'fannying around'! :D I also use their multi tool version for hedges etc. Another great tool. I've hammered the hell out of them both now for a couple of years and they're still going strong lol. Great vid.

    Would you be able to answer a question I have, I recently brought a petrol strimmer from SGS engineering and I had to return as the unit was too heavy for me to use. When SGS received the item back after I confirmed I did not use it try to, they are saying as there was fuel in the priming bulb they can not expect my return as they are saying I put fuel in it, and attempted to start it, which I did not. My question is would there still be fuel in this bulb left over from SGS testing this unit as surely they would have tested it. I would really appreciate your thoughts why there is fuel in the priming bulb. Many thanks.

    im on my second one of these..had to send the first back with total engine failure..second one had spool failure and now carburettor failure..SGS have been very good in replacing and for information..so thumbs up to the company,, now the bad bit. this is far too much trouble for what its worth,, im pretty handy and worked on bikes cars etc..but this when working is very good, but its the when!..ive had far too many problems when considering other strimmers ive had over the years,
    ,i certainly wouldn't recommend it t someone who isnt handy,,you will have issues with it and it will test your patience,,try elsewhere is my advice...

    Definitely would say that the new version of the 52cc SGS strimmer is better quality but you still sometimes get the problem with the strimmer head and the string does shoot out

    There is a definite fault with the head/spools on these machines, the one I have does the opposite and doesn't release the nylon cord which means I dismantle it every now and then to feed it through, other than that, a good robust machine.
    I use my modified Stihl harness rather than the one provided with this machine - there are some good/bad features with this strimmer and I feel the purchase price reflects this.

    Got this product the other day and it will be my first time using a strimmer in my life.
    I’ve got it all ready to go but the instructions say there’s a primer button which I can not find?
    Also never mixed oil with the fuel before. Do I mix it up/shake the bottle before I pour it into the fuel tank?
    Sorry if these sound like dumb questions but I’m new to gardening in general

    • @RSPYT
      @RSPYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Chris, yeah mix the oil and petrol in the bottle and shake it up and pour it in the tank. The primer bulb is under the carb, it’s a yellowish bulb, made from rubber.

    Hey my man, I also have the same strimmer and the line was doing my head in. Then I watched a video on this a similar spool design today, the manual is pants, old design. You don't need to remove the spool from the strimmer, just push down the blue head, feed through the strimmer line from on side to the other, then wind the blue head, it automatically feeds the strimmer line into the spools. when its full, let go and off you go. As for the harness, yes, that's pant, mine broke.

  • @philliplawerence5784

    For the machine itself, Cons: At almost 18 pounds, bloody heavy. At just over 114 dB(A), bloody noisy. Using 20-1 fuel-oil mix, very smoky. And because of the low production quality of the engine, it lasts 2 seasons or less. Pros: Power, and lots of it. Cut's through everything in sight. Best suited for heavy cutting jobs, otherwise for everyday conventional trimming use, get a lighter, quieter, better quality machine like Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna.

    Go on TH-cam and find the SGS video that shows you how to re gut the head. I was the same I was baffled but the video solved it, Its a horrible design and the manual states the wrong head.

    • @RSPYT
      @RSPYT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have watched it, but exactly that the manual states the wrong spool, it states the type you'd normally find on a Strimmer of this size. The one I got with mine is the type in the video. However, they have said they'll send me a new one after I pointed out to them that they manual has a different type so I'll wait and see what turns up lol.
