Agreed on how amazing it is, definitely makes me want to watch the series. I loved the first 2 seasons of GoT, definitely like Martin's writing and worldbuilding. Which symbolism were you talking about, if it's not too much to ask? Some pointers? Or did you just mean the aesthetics? I can't see any symbolism and parallels to other characters, and battles (or any other event in the story), while I'm a sucker for that! So I'd love if you could point some of it out for me:D
As stated it is believed valeryaons and targeryans are immune to most illness and disease. The theories for viseryies being sick was the throne is cursed and weak or kings who are unsure about themselves become cursed by the throne. There's also a theory that inbreeding had left him with a autoimmune disease. His brother didn't have it though. There's another theory that he was slowly being poisoned by the greens and that's why his brother said it was murder.
Targareyans who have dragons bonded to them are immune to diseases. Viserys died of illness because his Dragon died of old age a long time before the story started
Greyscale was also the works of Old Valerian curses. It's easy to say that anyone with the blood of Old Valyria revolves around magic & curses. The same way the Red Witch never ages or never felt cold.
It's cool (at least for me) watching Matt Smith full speed as an action hero. I will always remember when The Doctor was him, but in that role he had always to be a little contained, a little restrained, let others fight the battles.
Something I heard someone say that kinda stuck with me is that Dr Who was Matt Smith acting outside his usual range. he's remembered as the doctor and thus as being kinda silly and lighthearted, but if you look at the roles he generally plays they tend to be very serious dramatic roles.
@braindeadhoovy2562 right? There's a clear connection between the rider and the dragon. Even king viserys lost his dragon and didn't claim another, then he got sick

The best scene in the series... The symbolism and the excellent music. Matt Smith a great actor..

Six men or sixty, he is still Daemon Targaryen
touching a infected stone man....be splattered with his blood .....but you have plot armor and dont get sick, uuuu yeah!
I think his valerian blood makes him immune.
Nerdy fact here, but some targareans are immune to illness

Daemon Targaryen is a beast.
So is Corlys Velaryon. He didn't go alone like Daemon, but he was personally cutting a bloody swath through the crabfeeder's men with his axe.
Thanks for putting these up! New sub

Is has to be his connection to his dragon that prevents him from getting greyscale
I saw a video last night and the guy mentioned that every targaryen that has died from disease didn't have a dragon

The most obvious trap 😅. Oh and somehow no one hears the dragons coming until they’re a few feet away. But hey they’re big and there’s a lot of fire
