@@TannerRichieMain I had a 2005 LS430. I had replaced timing belt , spark plugs , thermostat , water pump at 100K miles . It was a very reliable car until its GPS disc module malfunction ( hard to find replacement , have to send it back to Lexus to get a refurbished one , cost $1200 ,not worth it ). Other than that , it's a most reliable car Lexus ever made !

I bought a used 2009 LS460L AWD that is fully loaded had 75k miles on it then, now has 262k, interior is still extremely clean no tears or rips, the body looks close to new, have had very few issues just minor things,. The ride is incredible, it does use a bit of oil between changes. I get about 25 mpg on highway, 20-21 city. Hoping to get another 100k out of this beauty.

Good to see that the newer models were just as reliable as the old ones. To this day most of lexus’s cars are still made in Japan and imported. I don’t know what it is about quality control in America and Germany but they never match Japanese quality control. It Also makes sense because all the v8’s that Toyota made are based on the 1uz-fe, they just have certain changes to get more liters out of them before they install them.

We have a 2007 LS460 that we bought 2 years ago with 98k miles, at $13k. It now has 126k and still worth around $11k. Worth every penny. Extremely reliable. Everything works perfect. Best seats ever. When we first got the LS460, the brakes were grabby at low speeds and overly sensitive- difficult to modulate. My independent mechanic milled the rotors and adjusted them and now they work perfect- very strong but easily modulated from any speed. Ill buy this car again.

Great honest review and well worth a watch. While 30k to 13k might feel painful in 4.5 years, keep in mind the guy buying a new one probably suffers around 65k of depreciation in the same time frame instead of 17k, plus the difference in interest (if there are loans for each). Also, buying a used luxury car is a safer bet than a lower entry level or even sports car as the wealthy original owners commonly service at the dealer and have the ability to pay for proper maintenance. The key is to be the second owner, not third or fourth after the "poors" have bought it and run it into the ground haha.

You have the rare Comfort Plus package with rear reclining seats, leather stitched arm rests and soft close doors.
I had a black 2008 with the same interior and features. I wished it was the "L" trim in the same package but they are rare. I added the 5 spoke 19 inch wheels which COMPLETELY transformed the look and made it look more sportier and was still comfortable. It was great the 2 1/2 years I had it, but always feared the brake actuator would go out so I sold with while the value was still high. I miss it terribly and kinda wished I had kept it.

Good Review. I am concerned about the comfort of the Driver's seat especially. Also, there was no comparison with its peers, esp with the S Class that every Lexus LS (and esp the LS430 but also the original LS400), at least in the exterior, is so obviously trying to copy. I expected the LS to be more reliable than he mentioned though. I currently own two Mercedes E class Diesel 320s, 2007 and 2008, I bought them for peanuts, ($10,500 and $11.000, and both had 6 and 3 month warranties included) in 2016 and 2017, so total of 12+ years of ownership, so far ZERO unscheduled maintenance, no malfunctions, only regular oil changes and some brake wear and tear. The LS is more luxurious inside though.

Anything that calls itself synthetic oil will run an easy $75.00-95.00 then you add a quality filter and labor a reasonable $125-145 dollars for an oil change. It is the amount of oil. 18 inch tires about 55 mm high softer on the control arms. Keep vehicle in comfort mode. Coil over struts seem to be nice substitute. Taysson, If You're Looking To Purchase A 1998 LS400 300K Miles On It, There's A Few Things You Need To Have Checked Out.
Have The Timing Belt, Transmission Fluid, Transaxle Fluid, Power Steering Fluid Pump And Valve Cover Gaskets Checked Before Purchasing.
Also Have The Car Hooked Up To A Diagnosis Computer/Tool To See What Error Codes Pop Up During The Test.
300K Is A Lot Of Miles And The Engine Or Transmission Could Very Well Be On Their Last Leg Depending On How Well The Maintenance Was Kept On The Vehicle.
You May Be Better Off Purchasing Something A Little More Modern To Get A Better Bang For Your Buck! The Last Thing That You Want To Do Is Purchase A Car That May End Up Having A Major Transmission Or Engine Issue And Few Months Or A Year After Buying It. If Either One Goes Out, It'll Cost You More Than The Car Is Worth To Repair Or Replace One Of These Items!
Sorry For The Long Message, But I've Owned 4 Generations Of Lexus LS Vehicle's And I've Had Nothing More Than 100% Reliability Out Of My Vehicles.
Good Luck My Brother And Take Care Of Yourself! I Hope This Helped! ✌️

You guys are confusing me, when I watched the gx 470 review, I decided I was getting it. Then I watch the rx 350 and decided I was buying that, now this one is making me change my mind abt the rx 350. Hmmm!

😂 hard choice! I almost bought an RX, but after driving the LS I couldn’t go back. This is coming from the guy who then sold the LS and moved to an old GX470. They’re all good! Just different.

Recent purchase up a base model 2008 LS 460 with 60,000 miles! I have never in my life been so happy with a vehicle purchase. The car is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, previous owner must have garaged and babied this beauty. I could not for the life of me figure out why it was sold. I had to replace the brakes upon purchase, kind of pricey, but I decided to do front and back. The only lingering issue is the Mark Levinson speakers. Even after replacing one of the door speakers, I am still hearing buzzing on occasion in the door speakers. I am hoping to replace them soon in high hopes that’ll fix the problem. Hopefully it’s not an amplifier issue. I have only named two cars in my life. The LS 460 is one of them. I did it spontaneously. Lexi is mine. The seats are very comfortable, the ride is superior. I love how quiet the interior is. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who is a large car enthusiast. I drove a modern LS 500 as a loaner and was not impressed. My car is far superior as far as ride, front seat it’s very comfortable.

Ah yes, when the LS had more rear leg room than the ES. Those were the days.
